History of the Land

The land of Lithia has long been one torn by disagreement. Once there were seven powerful family that ruled seven regions of the world. Theiri, Aserit, Nydewia, Paclya, Yelap, Erucya, and Caokin. In the beginning they worked together in peace each ruling over their own land, trading and helping one another in turn but no peace is ever lasting. Human nature has a way of fraying even the closest of bonds.

It was mother nature who struck the first blow. Paclya was in the presence of it' first really ruling family when the illness came. The illness was like nothing anyone had ever seen before. It spread like wildfire killing one out of every two people it touched. It was not a quick death either. Those that got it lingered for days, groaning in agony as their bodies slowly burned up from fever as they coughed themselves to death. Their king was desperate for a cure, medicine, or anything to save his dying people. He begged the Alchemists of Caokin for help, promising them anything and everything if they would just find a way to save his people. The family of Caokin was not greedy. They promised a cure in exchange for both a strong alliance of protection and a shipment of raw gold. The cure was given but Paclya hit so hard by the illness as well. They had nothing to spare breaking his alliance with Caokin, hoarding his wealth and resources as he rebuild his empire.

These were the first to powers of Erindell, the beginnings of the great and varied land. Next to rise was the people of Erucya. Farmers by nature, the people of Erucya soon learned the value of a simple days work. They started small, providing for just themselves, as they settled into the rich pasture land before growing into a power. They shipped cash items like grains and cotton to places that did not grow it or could not do to their geographic location. They made a close alliance with Paclya that still holds strong to this very day. They are known for holding a great party every year; it is the only event where all the royal family's attend without fail.

The next two powers of the world to rise were Aserit and Theiri. These two kingdoms seemed destined to destroy each other; and for year upon endless year, it seemed that they would. They grew bigger and other small kingdoms emerged, Yelap, who controlled the marshlands above Caokin and Nydewia, who controlled the deserts to the south of Aserit.

The war between Theiri and Aserit was becoming dire. Allies were made and Theiri was all but wiped off the map until the family of Lithia emerged. It's said they are from Caokin but no one knows for sure. In the next five years through talk, negotiations and deals they managed to quell the war between Theiri and Aserit that had been raging almost twenty years at this point and bring peace. but now the land knew great war was possible and the kingdoms feared the end of their line to the greed of their neighbors. The family of Lithia recognizing the prime opportunity brought them all under one rule convincing them if they stood together, they would not want to tear each other apart.

The family Lithia became known as the high royal family ruling over and keeping the peace between the seven families. And though there was bickering and fighting, black mail and deception no war broke out for the next two hundred years as the family Lithia ruled taking only peasants of untraceable blood lines into their family to avoid favoritism and keep their blood lines pure of the other families.

King Ericson had just take the throne of the high king after his fathers death. The only living member left after his father and mother died of old age having only had a single son. The king was crowned only a month when he fell from his horse and died suddenly much to the mourning of the realm.

For the first time in over two hundred years there is no high king, no heir to the throne of the high king. Lawyers and scholars comb through the law books and find an old law created by the first high king dictating if no heir is left and the throne is vacant a member of one of the seven families of the the land of Erindell could take the throne if voted into position by those nobles at court.

Word of this ripe opportunity spread like wild fire drawing all manner of nobles to the Castle of Lithia  to claim the much sought after prize.

Theiri's History
Theiri started as a small band of tribes flourishing within the forests of theiri. As years past these tribes warred with each other slowly killing each other off. A disease swept threw the area further cutting the population within the theiri forest with only a third of the population surviving. The tattered remains of the tribes fought even harder for the scant resources but soon a young man clever and strong with slippery words and a cunning smile was able to convince each tribe to band together under his rule. Ericson Theiri was the first leader of the united tribes. Once he died his son and daughter ruled Theiri and kept the tradition of using their minds instead of might to keep and hold the peace within the people. It because a defining characteristic of the royals to be smart and cunning and those trait became highly valued within it's people. The Theiri royal family has been recognized and recorded for the last five hundred years ruling the forests and building their massive trade network that touches into every kingdom in the land. After the twenty year war with Aserit that all but wiped them out completely they rebuilt building close relationships with Caokin and Nydewia.

Common Personality Traits: Noble, Courageous, and Determined.

Aserit
Known for the fiercest of warriors Aserit is known for being a people of honor an pride not just among the men who fight and die for their leaders but their woman who raise those men and fight just as hard as the men. They make not only the finest fighters in the known world but have mastered the art of war. They make the best weaponry in the form or swords and armor and are know to be the best metal workers in the known world.

Aserit's Culture
Aserit is a military kingdom. The citizens lives are crafted by a nation that is always at war. In the last 300 years there have only been a hand full of years of complete peace within their borders. There major rivial is their neighbors to the west the kingdom of Theiri. Aserit's citizen start training in combat at the age of 13 and by 18 have a set course in life. Besides the pride in their armies that are second only to the massive numbers of the Paclya nation they are the leaders in Armory. Their armor and weapons are the best in the known world and are coveted by every Kingdom from coast to coast. Family also meant a great deal to the citizens of Aserit, offences to another family as serious as an offence to them, themselves. Pride is the back bone of their culture, their pride in there military, their pride in their strength and loyalties. They are a prideful people who are often hard to get along with for those on the outside of there kingdom.

Aserit's History
The Aserit kingdom started as a band of warring tribes fighting over territory in the sprawling plains area to the east of Theiri and just north of the deserts of Nydewia. When the armies of Theiri on the conquest to expand there borders and incorporate more land into their holdings encroached on the territory of the warring tribes it sparked a unity within these tribes. A leader Baldimere Aserit brought together the bands of tribes and they as a united force drove off the Theirian armies and were able to keep the rich plains for themselves. Baldimere was crowned king and through out his life held the factions together his legacy of unity being named Aserit after him. For three hundred years Baldimere's line has ruled the kingdom of Aserit in an honor befitting his name.

Common Personality Traits: Cunning, Resourceful, and Ruthless

Nydewia
A nomadic nation of fiercest fighters. Only the strong survive here. The desert is cruel and unforgiving making survival a test everyday. There are three standing castles built as the royals of Nydewia tried to emulate the power structures of the great kingdoms of Theiri, Aserit, Paclya, and Erucya but while the peasantry of the desert settled into town living the nobles and royals did not still maintaining a nomadic life style. a Noble or royal is always in attendance at the castles but one never knows exactly who they will be getting when they go to visit.

Nydewia's Culture
The royals and nobles of Nydewia are nomadic like most of the population. They move from castle to castle, place to place, as often sleeping under the starts as between silk sheets. The rest of the world thinks of the Nydewians as flighty and overly prideful. they are often at war with Aserit finding it to be fun in a twisted amusing way. They believe in fate and know they will die when they are meant to, the rest of the time is meant to be enjoyed. The world does respect these impulsive people and for one reason. They breed the best horse flesh the world over. Horses are native in the plain of Aserit and the deserts of Nydewia but while they have been over domesticated in Aserit Nydewia's horses are spirited and strong, none are considered better the world over. They are noted for there speed and heartiness.

Nydewia's History
Nydewia is as it's always been ruled by a leader who was picked for there horseman ship, cunning, strength and spirit. They lead for there life time and most often there oldest child son or daughter follows in there foot steps. Currently a young man rules over them, an adventurous daredevil of a man who is next to impossible to pin down all ways either riding with his fighters against the Aserit troops or wondering the desert exploring the ever shifting sands. About a hundred years ago a leader built the pearls of the desert one in the famed oasis of pearls where fresh water pearls grew, one in the port of rain on the western coast and one deep in the desert call the castle of shifting sands. They were built to try to make Nydewia look more legitimate but have fallen into disuse by the royals who were never comfortable in the solid walls or in the tapestries of wealth that did nothing to hide the dangers of the deserts.

Common Personality Traits: Arrogant, Aristocratic, and Prideful

Pacyla
The nation of Paclya is one of the most advanced in the world. They are a non combative nation who seeks no more land but venomously defends their borders from the ravenous Aserit kingdom or anyone else who turns an eye to that which is theirs. They export cash crops such as sliver and gold and are one of the richest nations partnering closely with the smiths of Aserit, the artists and crafts men of Theiri and the Alchemists of Caokin.

Pacyla's Culture
Pacyla works in a strict cast system with the royal family at the top, the nobles beneath them, the craftsman and merchant class then the peasants. There is little chance of advancement unless you happen to find yourself in the favor of a member of the royal family. That being said the royals are exceedingly generous and are noted for their public works. there are public parks and even a welfare state during hard winters where the royal family provides for the impoverished citizens with the capital and outlying areas. There army is vast though not as highly skilled as other in the area. Those in the army usually joined as one of the only means of advancement and because of the steady pay and food stipends provided to the family of those who join.

Pacyla's History
Paclya started tribe like everyone else but unlike everyone else they didn't unite instead the strongest prevailed. A small band of fighters overwhelmed the other tribes and the leader took the pretties girl as his queen and thier family started the first royal family. During his line 3 rebellions were quelled but a well placed knife ended his line. Next came Merch who ruled there the worst years the kingdom had ever scene with illness sweeping threw the streets and killing 1 out of ever 2 people it touched. In the end it was a fragile alliance with Caokin who saved them. The alchemists of Caokin formulated a cure for the illness that was killing them. But Merch didn't have the money to pay the Kingdom of Caokin. Caokin drew back from the nation of Paclya and to this day refuses direct trade with them and will hold no talks with them.

Common Personality Traits: Spiritual, Thoughtful, and Reclusive

Yelap
Yelap is a tribal nation that is generally look down on by everyone. They live in the part of the world that no one wants in the marshlands smack dab in the center of the green band above the forests of Caokin. They are generally ignored by everyone except for the fact that they provide the only open trade route from Aserit to Erucya. They ferry travelers through the ever changing marshes and no one has ever scene there capital though there tribal leader will in matters of great concern meet with other nations along their borders within the trade city's.

Yelap's Culture
The people of Yelap work each and every day to survive. The spare time they do have is used to harvest hard woods and other natural raw resources to trade with their neighbors. Most of there outside needs are met by traders who pay to be ferried across the marsh. They don't trade in gold but in material goods. There worriers are known for being frightful and silent. They have only been seen a handful of times by outsiders since most of the time they fight among themselves but they are fearsome men dressed in the skin of alligators wielding crude knives the best among them wielding swords made in Aserit. They are a people of equality. Gender doesn't matter to them. They gauge a persons value by how well they can provide for there family and defend themselves and their families from the dangers of the swamp. The woman generally are more domestic but they can do as they please some of the most admired fighting along side the men in the near constant tribal battles or going out in hunting parties. The culture is run by a counsel of 20. To be on the counsel one must pass three tests, navigate the swamp from an unknown place back home, fight an alligator and win bringing back the skin as proof, and surviving three days in the swamp with nothing but a knife and your clothing. these trials are open to everyone and it is a mark of pride an honor to complete them. Once a counsel member you are one for life until they choose to step down. The counsel every five years elect a leader from among themselves to lead them and represent them all in matters of state.

Yelap's History
Yelap is a fairly new society who only recently has started to make it's mark on the world. Before them the marshland was generally ignored, only mentioned when a fool hearty traveler made the mistake of trying to navigate there way threw the ever shifting islands only to never have been heard from again. It is known that The tribal leaders meet as a counsel to lead there people the counsel then electing a leader of themselves who is the figure head for the people. According to the travelers the leader is elected for a term of 5 year then a new election is held within the counsel. Currently the people are being lead by a female.

Common Personality Traits: Proper, Thoughtful, and Cunning

Erucya
Erucya is a Kingdom closely aligned with Paclya. They are called the farming kingdom. They have little time for crafts or war their work centering around the seasons and planting. They are simple with simple pleasures. They celebrate the summer solicitous and the harvest. They raise cattle and provide most of the worlds food being the biggest exporters of silk, cotton, beef and grain.

Erucya's Culture
Their culture revolves around the harvest and the animals they raise. As a kingdom they operate on a cast system with the king and queen far removed from them living in a castle on the coast and their daily dealings with the lord who runs an estate and are responsible to make sure their crop is grown and traded so a tax can be payed to the king and queen and they can retain there title. The lords pay homage to the king and queen at a yearly festival held during the winter solstice that is hailed as the social event of the season and the royals of every kingdom are invited each year.

Erucya's History
Erucya started as nomads who settled as there population grew and they needed to start farming to keep up with the needs of their people. They are peaceful people who are protected by a long standing alliance with Paclya. They are farmers who raised grain, cattle, cotton, silk worms, and sheep. The people are joyful and celebratory who love are content and unless they have a cruel lord are generally happy with their lives. In contrast there royals are seen as somewhat cool by all but the lords who actually know them. They have little to do with there people and live along the coast in a large coastal town, they are the only nation who knows anything about sea faring and use it as a way to do large scale trading.

Common Personality Traits: Observant, Distrustful and Mystic

Caokin
Caokin is a closed society since the broken alliance with Paclya no one has crossed there borders. They are known only for there master of the hidden art of Alchemy there elixirs and potions highly sought out by all. They do not trade with Paclya but openly trade with everyone else after making a trade agreement with Theiri that include them having closed borders and exporting all there potions threw Nydewia and Yelap.

Caokin's Culture
Caokin has never been to war. Generals and fighters are ranks of decoration. They hold tests of strength and skill but have never had cause to actually go to battle. There queen is rumored to be immortal. The first to develop the elixir of life she appears ageless and no one can ever remember her being different. The top of the cast systems hold the unchanging queen, her king and family, the nobles, the alchemists who create the potions and elixirs used by most of the citizens in one form or another, the merchant class, the craftsman and then peasantry. Though it is unknown they run the larges most extensive spy network though they appeared cut off they knew about everything that happens in the outside world and the nobles believe the queen is just waiting for an opportunity to pay back the nation of Paclya for there ill treatment.

Caokin's History
Caokin has always been peaceful they came into power about the same time as Paclya about two hundred years before Theiri made there first wobbly steps into world history. They had a fragile alliance with Paclya that was strained by the illness that swept across the land killing hundred of people without prejudice. It was during these dark days that the few in Caokin who practice the art of alchemy earned there distinction finding a cure for the illness that was killing so many. Paclya who was hit far worse by the illness begged for the cure promising protection and once more gold and gems to the people of Coakin but once they had their cure they broke there promise and the peaceful people of Caokin withdrew for the world ignoring all attempts at communication and refusing to acknowledge Paclya in any form. It was not until Theiri with it's Ghosts riding with the caravans forged a new trade route that they spoke to anyone outside there borders. They agreed to open trade with first Theiri then everyone else in the world besides Paclya.

Interested definitely, but I'm torn as to what to do. I could bring back Lenally or a new version or something completely different.

Nikkie love, what kingdom would you recommend for me if I make a character? Do you want me to reinvent Lenally or make a new character but keep the name (I'm still in love with the name hehe)

If you want to use Lenally se would probably need to be tweaked a bit regardless since she was so tied to Lorenzo.

The places are based on what type of character you want to play. So depending oon what you want to play there are lost of options, artistic, sharp, refined Theiri; warrior, knight, honor bound Aserit; fighters, wanderers, pashas, Nydewia; cultured, refined, aristocratic Paclya; tribal, feirce, savages Yelap; southern, farmers, dignified Erucya; mysterious, spiritual, cunning Coakin.

DarkRose15

True. I'm pondering....ways to shake her up but still keep the core of her the same. Fiesty, bold, brash, takes no crap and fights like a man but looks like a stunning woman.

Here are some images I've found for her, both are pretty:

Okay so just a few questions:

1. Is this first come first serve? Do we just say, hey can I have so and so role and then make a skellie or are we submitting skellies and then you say yey or ney?

2. Illustrated or real images? Does that matter?

3. Is there any enslavement going on in the current time of the game or has there ever been slavery among the kingdoms? If so, are there any countries more likely to have slaves or that had enslaved people?

Thanks~

NO LOOSE ENDS; LET NONE BE THE NOOSE.

LimitlessNikkie

Good questions Octo.

First for character submissions, you can claim a role you would like and I will hold it for you until a skelli is submitted unless there's interest by someone else for the same role then you have a week to submit a skelli for approval. I guess it is basically first come first serve in that regard though the place will not be held for you indefinitely if there are other people interested.

I don't care what kind of pictures are used as long as their tasteful and portray your character.

Must admit your third question is an interesting one. Slavery would have been highly popular in Nydewia and Erucya in their early days and while Erucya has grown away from that tradition Nydewia would still practice it.

kasper

Okay, thanks Nikkie!

I typically go for heir of Aserit and though I always have loved that character and kingdom I think I'll probably retire that idea and go for something different this time.

I'm thinking possibly a Yelap character - perhaps a daughter/son of the leader or a council member and a male charrie enslaved by (perhaps) a royal/noble Nywedian female, if anybody else might be interested in filling the latter half of that relationship.

NO LOOSE ENDS; LET NONE BE THE NOOSE.

My Aserit Prince should be ready in the next day or so.

#24
I'm totally all for having a sexy male slave if you are Octo ;) hehe! Sheet in progress!

The Basics
Name: Lenally of Nwydewia
Age: Looks 22 but is 24
Sex: Female
Orientation: Bisexual
Role: Nydewian Princess, one of several potential heirs
Player: DarkRose15

The Look
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 150 (lean, powerful muscle)
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Amber
Skin: Tan
Anything else: A lip piercing on her lower right left, and always has a golden feather earring on her right ear. She has not confessed where she truly got it, saying was something she won from a battle. It was actually a gift from her slave Kimber, as a way to show their love in plain sight without giving it away. She will wear it until she dies. She also wears blue make up upon her face in streaks on her cheeks for formal occasions or tribal business. She also has (to those who are fortunate enough to see her nude) nipple rings.

The story
Likes: A good fight, Coarse/Crude/Vulgar language, Learning new styles of combat, her slave (name to be placed when Octo's sheet is up :) ), Caring for horses, Training said horses, Massage, A man/woman who knows what they want (and takes it!), Protecting the Innocent, Wrestling, Hard, Passionate kisses, Rough sex, Tender sex (at times) Piercings, Licking, Biting, Anal, Swords (both types ;) ) and Sheaths (both types ;) ), Seduction, Spanking
Dislikes: Weak-willed people, Excessive cruelty towards people and animals, Traitors, Dishonesty, Rape, Being looked down on for her gender, Wearing gowns/dresses, Formal gatherings that force her to wear aforementioned gowns/dresses, Long books (she doesn't hate reading, just long, boring books), Having to act like a lady
Personality: Lenally is the quintessential tomboy, every day praising the fact she was born into a culture that embraces freedom. She loves to get into a good fight, then pat the loser on the back or if she has lost receive the same and enjoy a rowdy round of ale. She is very passionate about her causes, enjoying spending free time either training herself or training/caring for the horses her lands are so known for. She's quite warm and friendly most of the time, but if someone acts cruel in front of her towards an undeserving target she'll be one of the first to step in. She does have a slave, and treats him as such but is not so cruel as to cause physical harm. She's the type who also loves to pursue more demure targets, fascinated by those quiet beauties in the corner or the handsome man quietly working. But she's very loyal to her one true love Kimber, who often is invited to participate in her frequent sexual adventures. She's the kind of person who'll laugh jovially and hug a stranger if pleased enough, but is still smart enough to know she's being insulted and give a response of a different nature.
Habits: Lenally always likes to rise early to do training, occasionally meditating if perhaps she's needing a bit of calm in her life, before beginning the rest of the day. She always tends to focus better after a rigorous work out. She also cleans her armor and weaponry regularly to keep them in top form. One never knows when a fight may break out and having a well-kept weapon that's sturdy can make or break fight. She also orders Kimber around with a specific tone to her voice when she wants to be alone with him (for a few hours), though only one who is particularly skilled at picking up such subtle details has a chance of doing so.
Skills: Skilled with: Swords, Battle axes (one hand or two-handed), Double-sided blades, Composite bow (Similar to Persian/Parthian design), Alertness, Survival (desert/forest), Unarmed combat, Stealth, Stubborn, Assertive, Working with Horses
History: Growing up in Nwydewia, Lenally enjoyed doing what most other girls in noble positions only dreamed of doing. She learned from an early age how to properly hold and respect weaponry, and how to fight with them too. Almost as soon as she could toddle on her legs she had a weapon in hand and is keen to continue that tradition. At the age of 6, she was gifted with a slave by the name of Kimber, and he would become a huge part of her life. He would mentor her, teach and guide her and as she grew older he would become even more to her. Rumors suggest the two are lovers, but both will actively deny it to the best of their ability to avoid creating a scandal. Some servants spoke of her losing her virtue to him on a dark and stormy night when she was but 16, but no one knows but the two of them. By and by, she grew into a beautiful young woman who's reputation often precedes her as a crude, vulgar wench who was both friendly to a fault but vicious if pushed.

Despite her lack of interest in the political affairs outside the lands of her people she does keep tabs on them to a degree and asks Kimber to do the same albeit carefully. With the death of the high king, she is sent by her family as a representative of the Nwydewians and is expected to vie for power with the others. She will not step down due to pride, but she has no interest in being cooped up in a palace staring at the beautiful world outside and longing to be free with the wind in her hair as her mount races across the plains. She knows there will be others arriving, and despite her love of combat sincerely hopes that things go well enough so she can get back on her horse with Kimber and ride home. She was also told if possible to attempt to make an ally of any eligible men to ensure that her kingdom was protected via a political marriage. She wants this option even less.
