Hrm, I think if we just get the two Arch Angels that's needed we may be able to start the game. Though if any others join as Nephilim in the meantime (or as a Cherub/Infernal) that is perfectly fine as well. =)

Annddd, us GMs continue to neglect our own character sheets....ehehehe.... ::)

Writersblockade, it looks like you'd make a vengeful Cherub if you manage to get there. Also, just wanted to make sure. Edward Riley has been in Purgatory for two years now and has only just newly awakened to the truth of the 'world'? As in, he is now aware of his surroundings or he's still slowly figuring them out?

Yeah, I really want him just starting to figure it out...in fact, Let's say that he's been in Purgatory for a year, and the emergence of his abilities awakens him to the world around him. It also is going to start a merging of the life that he had with the life he leads now. He'll have to come to grips with that fact that he's dead. All of this may happen quickly, or go slow, but I wanted to get a little character development in there, y'know?

If we get to the point where all we need are arch angels I can delete my current character sheet. I was thinking of creating one initially but last minute changed my mind so if that becomes an issue I'll be willing to change.

Also, thanks Esoteric Myobi for the invite

Name: Vorianne
Age: Old enough to not trust the Nephelim, still young enough to not see their redeeming qualities
Faction: Angel
Angelic/Demonic Status:  Arch Angel (If you'll have me :) )
Appearance: Tall but slim Vorianne is a woman not prone to physical vanities such as makeup or accessorizing, preferring stark simplicity.  Whatever clothes she wears will be utilitarian, a soft grey, and more often than not, armored.  Long, flowing black hair falls down her back, bangs often hanging down over her face and startlingly deep blue eyes.  Vorianne carries with her a strong otherworldly sense, an alien beauty that both entrances and repulses and mystifies.
Personality: As an Arch Angel Vorianne is nearly judgement personified, the naked sword ready to strike down evil wherever it is.  Constantly eager to cleanse and rebuke Vorianne at times has to be restrained and is often posted to simply observe the Nephelim in an attempt to help her understand the mystifying creatures.  It hasn't helped, as she often sees the evil produced by them while blithely ignoring the good.
Biography:  ((Not sure what the backgrounds are for Arch Angels (beings of purity or mortals raised to their station).  If the former, then she was and is a pure spirit that is still dealing with the at times horrific nature of man, cynical and wounded deeply by the evil they commit.  If the latter, the product of a broken home and ground away by long years of abuse and trials, becoming convinced in the supremacy and inevitability of justice as a salve to her wounded soul.  Let me know which and I'll edit this :) ))
Grace/Wickedness: Condemn - by concentrating on a particular soul, Vorianne can reveal the evil and pain they have inflicted on others and turn the horrors they set loose upon themselves.  Sociopaths are suddenly wracked with guilt for the agony they have caused others, murderers feel as if they themselves lie under the executioner's axe, etc.  The ability only works so long as she maintains eye contact with the target and is able to speak to them, calmly reciting the horrible litany of their crimes.

Truthseeking - Justice requires clear sight and understanding.  While concentrating on a target (in their physical presence - conversations via telephone or recordings are not subject to the effect) Vorianne can determine the truth of a person's statements.  Critical Note - this will NOT determine the actual truth, but instead wiether the speaker believes what they said.  As such, a delusional individual could say with perfect sincerity that the cat made them do it.  As well, it requires a good deal of concentration and is quite unpleasant (the view of another person's soul required by the ability is both physically and spiritually draining) and so Vorianne uses it only when she already suspects falsehoods.

Flaws: (Any weaknesses or desires. 3 minimum, 5 maximum.)

Justicar - As a near personification of justice, Vorianne is zealous and intollerant.  While her blade may protect the innocent, almost everyone is guilty of something and she will focus on such almost to the exclusion of all else.  Perhaps you did save that man, but you did for your own purpose, not for concern for him.

Loathing - Vorianne realizes she is not perfect and seeks at all times to purge herself of her impurities.  While not prone to physical mortification she does constantly question and berate herself for her failings.  While not indecisive, her decisions often haunt her in the quiet moments, yet another reason she seeks to fill her time with punishing the wicked.

Sacrifice - As a personal representative of the Seraphim, Vorianne cannot allow herself to pursue her own goals and agendas.  Love is a distraction, a vice that leaves one open for the Enemy.  Self interest is the path to evil and one must always put the mission first.  Pain suffered in the cause of right is holy and must be given freely.

Hope this at least sparks interest.  Please do let me know if she's suitable for the RP :)

Kirinis

Also intrigued here's a potential archangel submission, feel free to savage if you think the character needs more work or revision.

Name: Saziel

Age: Unknown

Faction: Angel

Angelic/Demonic Status: Archangel

Appearance: An androgyne always garbed from neck to toe completely in loose clothing betraying not a cue that might give indication of what Saziel's true gender affiliation.  As for speech, Saziel has yet to utter a word, letting their silent presence and a sort of readable body language serve.

Personality: The embodiment of temperance, Saziel is the loyal hand of the Lady and seemingly has no independent will at first glance.  Longer observation of Saziel will reveals that they are primarily motivated by a sense of compassion which drives Saziel to work swiftly.

Biography: As the one who delivers judgment and succor from the Lady, Saziel dares not act autonomously lest they cause undue disruption.  As such, Saziel is often referred to as the Lapdog of the Seraphim by neutral observers and detractors alike.  Saziel's primary task is to lay all things to rest as according to the Lady and their presence on Earth is heralded by a string of deaths.

Despite Saziel's uninvolved neutrality when not acting according to the Lady's wishes, Saziel has little compunction with orchestrating interventions that suit its purposes through cutouts and third parties.

Grace/Wickedness:

Major Ability: Final Succor: With a mere touch, Saziel brings to an end to any mortal's tale.  Final Succor is not usable against Cherubs unless specifically authorized by the Lady.  Whether the ability is usable under any circumstance against Demons is unknown and has never been tested.

Minor Ability: Iron-Clad Temperance: As part of Saziel's nature, it is immune to all matters of persuasion short of a direct order by the Seraphim that contravene its orders or directives.  Saziel cannot be dissuaded or distracted from its holy imperatives.

Flaws:

Interventionalist: It is also a poorly hid secret that Saziel has an independent agenda in regards to the continued welfare of humans on Earth and an preference for letting humans die of old age and natural causes.  As such, Saziel is compelled to intervene when in the presence of humans in danger of dying from unnatural causes.  In such situations, the protections of Iron-Clad Temperance do not apply and Saziel is vulnerable to all influences regardless of source.

Iron-Clad Restraint: Due to the effects of Terminal Sanction, Saziel has learned to restrain itself to what some would consider a ludicrous degree.  As such, Saziel will never engage in any action that would lead to the termination of an life without prior authorization by the Lady.  Likewise, Saziel continues to maintain an stance of pure neutrality that forbids it from taking sides in any motion in Purgatory.

Terminal Sanction: For all of the power behind Final Succor there is only one notable limitation behind it.  Saziel can never deactivate Final Succor willingly or unwillingly and as such all applicable who touch Saziel's skin are automatically subject to its effects.  As such, that is why Saziel is garbed completely at all times.

Destiny Ascension

Name: Katrina Miller
Age: 25
Preferred Faction: Neutral
Appearance: Well figured and a little less feminine, Katrina is short and slender, physically athletic and looks very professional for her chosen life. She has short, neck length brown hair and bright, remarkable green eyes.
Personality: Katrina is focused and determined to the point of obessiveness. She has the ability to be polite and stoic, but prefers to speak her mind and ignore consequences. She can be motivated by certain factors, but more often than not Katrina takes a laid back, if firm, approach to most things in her life, and after.
Biography: Before her death, Katrina was a pilot for the US Coast Guard, tasked with doing sea rescues and intercepting illegal activity on the water. This choice of life was brought about her experiences as a younger child, growing up in Virginia, she spent time on the water. When her family boat was overturned by a wave and Katrina, just a teenager, was thrown overboard, she was forced to wait for hours on top of wreckage from the boat before being rescued. As she grew, Katrina developed powerful nightmares, most of them featuring her own situation, but they soon developed into nightmares featuring other people, and the same fear and sense of doubt she'd had. This drove her to join the Coast Guard, trying to avoid others feeling the same as she had.

Katrina was killed by a large wave bringing down her helicopter in a vicious storm. She never even saw it coming, and when she awoke on a beach, she assumed she had survived. But in reality, she was dead. It took her a good deal of time to figure that out, but slowly, things started to seem off. She never really understood what had happened to her, and her memories were vague. As time went on they became clear, and the world around her decended into confusion. She had assumed the depressing color of everything was a result of some kind of crash, but the memories of her final moments on earth added to her confusion. She finally figured it out. Even so, she has become vaguely aware of the conflict between Angels and Demons, but still hasn't figured out her powers. As it is, she is trying to figure out what happened to her and where she is.
Abilities:
- Thermal Offering - Katrina is never cold. Literally, her body temperature is normal and she doesn't burn everything she touches, but she can spark a small flame in her hand without consequence and use it to do anything you can with a lighter.
- Night Sight - Katrina can see extremely well in the dark. She can't see in total darkness, nor can she see in even near darkness, but in comparison to others with excellent night sight, Katrina has perfect night sight.

Flaws:
Good Samaratan - Katrina has a soft spot in her heart for people in dire need. She does not donate to help the homeless, but willingly puts herself in danger to save someone else. Even if the situation is literally hopeless, Katrina throws everything she has into her efforts.

Easily Angered - Katrina has a very fiesty, very strong temper and has a hard time controlling it. She doesn't lash out physically or verbally, but applies an unfavorable assumption to someone who sparks this kind of reaction, and readily does so. She is easily overcome by anger, which in turn clouds her judgment and her sense of right and wrong.

Reactionary - The combination of her other flaws, Katrina acts instinctively in situations where she feels threatened, angered, wronged or when she believes she can resolve a situation quickly, regardless of its danger or questionable motives. Katrina rarely thinks these kinds of things through, especially not in situations that require snap decisions.

Thrill Seeker - Katrina defied gravity for the better part of her career when she lived. Through this, she has a tendency to take risks for no reason other than for her own benefit. If she knows, or thinks, it wont harm anyone else she has little hesitation to do something decisively dangerous without fearing consequence.

Intense Remorse - In consequence with her death, Katrina believes she has failed her crew and the people they were sent to rescue. Her memories are so vague, she believes it was her incompetance that brought down her helicopter, even though she had no way to avoid it or even see it coming, she still believes firmly it was her fault, and believes it so strongly, the very thought brings her to an emotional down that she is hard pressed to escape.
"Build courage when courage seems to fail, gain faith when there seems to be little cause for faith, create hope when hope becomes forlorn."
Andraste's flaming sword! I know where babies come from!

I just wanted to ask Twistedlace a question concerning the power condemn. How will that power affect the demons you may encounter, I only ask since it seems strange to me that a demon would feel any sort of remorse or guilt when it comes to their crimes. Or is it more for use on the Nephilim? I don't mean anything by my question, just curious. :)

Plan is (with approval from the higher ups, in tirplicate :) ) is for Condemn to act much more as an offensive action against demons.  Whereas as a Nephilim could feel the flames of guilt and self loathing overpowering them it could, if applied strongly enough, actually burn a demon with holy flames.  One thing I also wanted to add, and this again with approval from the GMs, that Condemn can be used to place someone in a permanent tortured state, but only on the command of the Seraphim.  Vorianne herself wouldn't have the authority to doom a soul to such agony.  Thanks for the question hon :)

Hm, I think this would depend on each player/character and their preferences. It is possible that a Nephilim Rose/Fell centuries ago and eventually made their way to Arch. However, I'd say for the sake of simplicity that the Arches are basically just beings who have been around since the beginning. Possibly coming to power after the Seraphim/Prince have established themselves and then chosen for the role. If we go with this, then your character can't really be considered 'young' anymore but she can still hold that inner hope of seeing good from the Nephilim.

As for your ability, Condemned, I think that even with demons it could still work. While demons may not necessarily feel guilt or remorse for their actions, they will still feel the pain that had been suffered so it can definitely be used as a combat skill. I'm not so sure about the holy flames and permanent torture idea however. Let's see what the other GMs have to say about that.

Shall post comments for the next two applications once I'm done reading/thinking through them. =)

Then I certainly don't mind it being temporary.  And given what you said about origins I think Vorianne will have been around since the beginning.  After all, a good cynicism takes time to build up :)

Lady Kitsune

Good evening, everyone.

Thank you for your interest, we are happy to see new faces.

I was looking over the CS and I have a few questions......

twistedlace, your truthseeking- it is a good idea but my concern is that this is a game of half truths and lies, and if you could never be lied to.....I guess I'm wondering how you would work not being lied to?

Kirinis, your character has a penchant for doing what he is told and nothing more, would that make him unreliable when he is needed most?

I would just like to know these things or perhaps they can be modified to suit.
I am working on it, I swear!

twistedlace

Thanks for the feedback - so far as her ability it's limited to when she concentrates specifically on an individual and as well it doesn't work as well as you'd think (I blame myself for being unclear ><).  It discerns if the person speaking BELIEVES what they are telling is the truth.  A psychotic killer would truly BELIEVE that they were justified in killing the old woman because the dog was plotting against them.  A narcicist would believe that they truly ARE the center of the universe and that they are justified in doing whatever it is they choose.  So, while a person couldn't lie to her if she was watching for the lie, it's certainly possible for them to shade the truth when she's not in full blown interrogation mode.  <sighs> Purity, thy price is vigilance.

If, however, the ability is wrong for the feel of the story, I'll happily change it or substitute it for another ability.  RP breakers or 'god cheats' aren't any fun and wasn't my intention :)  ((<kicks herself for having TWO over powered abilities in her application>))

Esoteric Myobi

Just a note for those of you who have listed yourselves as a 'Neutral' faction.

As Nephilim (and eventually Infernal/Cherub), you are still susceptible to losing/gaining humanity/life and eventually Rising/Falling. Being 'Neutral' may mean that the character does not care for either faction but their actions/choices are still accounted for and will still affect them.

So if you purposely want your character to forever stay neutral, then it will be a hard balancing act (not impossible though). When they Rise/Fall, Infernals/Cherubs can still have a change of heart - though it becomes a bit more life-threatening at this point since they will effectively be killed off by the Prince/Seraphim upon reaching four Mana (with a warning when they have received three).

Hope this made sense and makes things clear for all. Just wanted to make sure that everyone knows that they can still end up on either faction despite being listed as Neutral. =)

Otherwise, Destiny Ascension gets my stamp of approval. Also, twistedlace, perhaps you would like to edit your profile a bit so everything is clear? (It will also makes things easier later on since I link everyone's profile to make it easier to refer to when needed.)

Kirinis, your character has a penchant for doing what he is told and nothing more, would that make him unreliable when he is needed most?

His pedantic nature would make him unreliable when needed most since he follows a strict interpretation of the letter of the order and he can't conceive of any other way than to carry out the Seraphim's order completely verbatim even at cost of efficiency and effectiveness.

Esoteric Myobi

Kirinis, if you have your heart set on being Arch Angel then I would suggest you re-write your character sheet. I can't see the Seraphim (or the Prince for that matter) having an Arch that they could not rely on 100%. The Arches are the Right and Left hands of the Seraphim and Prince so they would need to be reliable and be able to make wise decisions on their own - all in the hopes of recruiting more Nephilim to their own cause.

However, if you're happy with your current character then you can edit him a bit so that he is a Cherub instead of an Arch. If so, remember that Cherubs only have one minor ability available to them.

#43

Name:
Shenovi Katsakachi
Age:
Ageless
Faction:
Neutral
Angelic/Demonic Status:
Infernal
Appearance:
Appearances can be deceiving and that is too true if one doesn’t know already what kind of man Shenovi happens to be. Outwardly, he might not come off as someone horrifying, especially body wise as he is of a below average build; but nothing as shockingly to be classified as gaunt. Those that hear rumors about him may imagine a man with a much more muscular build, where in turn his skin is not quite too flabby or ripped for that matter, holding a bit more leanness to it in the end. There are other tales of him being a monstrosity in appearance, but physically wise that is a false rumor as well. To think how absurd people would go about spreading lies about ghoulish hands, trying to make him sound like some Dr. Jekyll or Hunchback of Notre Dame. Really, if he knew who was spreading such false tales, they would be sorry as he is nothing of that sort either. Dr. Jekyll? Who would they be trying to kid with similarity references. As for the other stories, well they are going too far to make him out to look like a monster. He doesn’t lean when he moves, he actually caries a rather elegant and classy stance, even standing at a lovely height of five feet and eleven inches. In truth he isn’t anything as they would attempt to falsely imply, he holds a more morbid beauty about his figure, one that is as daring as a thriving flame is to blind, suicidal moths.

What makes up that alluring side of him, one might wonder? Why, from a first glance of his face he can often be mistaken for a female, even with those longs locks of brown and blonde hair of his which are tied back up into a knot, although allowing a few bangs to cluster about in various angles along his forehead and down below it. The way he even wears his hair is rather feminine to some degree, with one side of those locks dominating over his left eye and cheek alike upon occasion. The other side is parted along the right, revealing a shorten strand directly leveled with the outside region of his right eye and from there one can make out what appears to be birth marking of sorts, composed in the lower right angle of his right eye; whether or not he carries a similar makeup on his other cheek is unknown, but it is highly assumed to say the least. The rest of his hair is maintained in a decorative and colorful array of rope and other ties to keep it pinned back, and give him a hint of a ’peacock’ appeal.

Also, as known, it isn’t hard to mistake his gender reference; because, for one he keeps a very clean shave, not a shred of facial hair on his features, saved for his excessively thinned eyebrows that hold their own unique arch above his pink eyes. Of course, this isn’t enough to create gender confusion, as Shenovi also powders his cheeks, uses richly dark mascara around those eyelids of his adding to a blacken look, and those lush, pink lips of his share their own touch of crimson lipstick around them. His fingernails are left unpainted, keeping their bland and usual shape, although with the rest of him prettied up, it is impossible to disclose his gender, due to his transsexual outward appearances.

Though one should also know better than not to confuse his gender, frankly from his own taste in fashion. You see, when in the city, he holds a more refined edge about him. Pants and shirt alike are well woven, the pairs usually consisting of ebony silk. Over it, he is drabbed in a leather vest, that is sewn over with that of fine animal skins, the varies shaded patterns can only lead to one possible conclusion of the creatures that made up this lavish clothing belonging to that of deceased leopards. The vest itself is long in length, draping down his body and onwards a few inches above his lower thighs, short in width, never expanding pass his shoulder regions. As for footwear, he usually adorns a simple set of black, leather boots.

Personality:
Sickly Sadastic: This is a man you don’t want to be alone in a room with, hell he is the type of guy you don’t even want to be in a hundred feet of. His antics often put some of the most harden of demons to shame and others to shudder in either repulsion or fear alike. To begin with, he is bloodthirsty, but perhaps that is obvious enough coming from his governing sin. Still, he doesn’t just kill his victims, he will take everything from them. He is the type of man that will begin prime cuts on the corpse and remove and even decorate the organs about for all to see in a morbid fashion of art. Not gross out there yet, then let us try necrophilia, as he gets more than just excited from watching people die around him and it isn’t rare for him to have his way with some of the bodies of his victims; whether they have their entrails inside them, out, or hanging about, it doesn’t matter to him as long as he gains the ultimate pleasure of basking in his kills. Like he sometimes says, ‘dead is just as good as them being alive, only a pity they can’t still scream and squirm while raping them.’

This doesn’t mean he doesn’t have fun with them while they are still alive. Why pass up the amusement entirely? He takes his pleasure seriously when it comes into terms of humiliating and torturing his prey, sexually or not while they are still alive. If they die on him, he could always continue his fun, even though it would be a bit dulled afterwards without something living to toy with.

Psychopathically Deranged:Maybe his sadist side didn’t scare you enough, but now we are taking a peak at only a tip of the iceberg of the workings of his mind. Jigsaw anyone, for that is the game you will find yourself playing frustrating over and over when it comes to Shenovi’s sanity level. He is a peculiar man, sometimes in his possession one might find a rejected female puppet, another tribute to his mentality. He relates to the puppet as different things, mother, sister, maybe some woman he might of ravaged recently or murdered. Sometimes he even lets his victims play with it and determines their handling with his fucked up little games to decipher whether or not they should live. He is always judging, from the start and to the end of another’s life. Those that are determined worthy are allowed to live a bit longer, till his train of thought may sway him over that they may not be. Keeping up with his mind is too much of a task, even for the longest lived of individuals who might hadn’t gone insane by just miraculously surviving his company enough to even bother to figure him out.

Furthermore on his psychopathic traits, he may occasionally leads to cannibalism afterwards; whether this results from the corpse being raped or not makes no difference to him. If he is hungry, he will feed, whoever the unlucky dead body happens to belong to, even if it is another demon’s he will still devour it for nourishment. Rarely does Shenovi indulge in ‘people’s food.’ Food for him is people itself and he likes to keep it that way. In his mental side of thinking, to show power is to devour one’s prey, as it is naturally the predators right on the food chain to consume the lesser individuals; and Shenovi thinks of himself pretty high on that food chain.

Devilishly Manipulative: Beyond the fractions that play into the grotesque side of things of him, he possesses an incredible amount of cunning and wisdom. If he ever decided to play chess, may-haps he might even be a master of it, as he knows all the rules of the game of survival. He knows how to use his pawns, when to sacrifice them, when to draw them back. When to attack, and when to defend, and just when to toss aside a valuable piece and sharpen even a tarnish one into something flawlessly unimaginable. He also keeps an eye out on talent, and usually can wield fate into his favor into bringing such newly skills into his own possession. If he isn’t playing mind games, that are entitle into scaring his opponents shitless or using coercion to lure enemy or possible friend into his seductive web of control; than clearly he is playing other cards that may bribe them over. He knows full well that everyone has a price, though finding out what is the difficult part and from there the pieces simply fall into place.

Strong Murderous Intent: To sum it all up, he carries the true makings of a serial killer, rapist, and even fearsome manipulator alike. If one wondered why he is like that, then ask ones self why one might be the way they are? Why does anyone kill? For pleasure, for excitement, for power, for money, or just because they can? For him, it is mostly all of the above and beyond the fact he chooses to, to keep his existence an entertaining one. For him, it is all a game and the moment his eyes set their marking on their target, that preferred prey will already be playing his game, whether they want to or not. Murdering is an influence of power, a demonstration to stir fear and also to generate chaos. Because of this, any simpleminded being may possibly pick up on that murderous and bloodthirsty aura of his the very moment they lay eyes on him; it is there, marked dead from the personality that influences his own fashion statement. Evident from his demented way of watching someone, even if they ask or tell him not too.

Biography:
The Lowborn

Shenovi was never a human being, a frail mortal creature; though neither was he fortunate to come as a firstborn from a grand line of demons. Instead, his bloodline had dwindle, mixed and merge with others through the millenniums, and the only thing he may show as a descendant of Gaap is the ability over water itself(but even that wasn’t anything speculator from his thinned blood lineage.) Still, all in all, he was born a demon; something he may be thankful for, if he could be thankful to anything. If he had any ’status,’ than he would been better suited as a peasant, a simple pawn, easily tossed aside or sacrificed for something far greater.

Still, like all creatures, his bloodline choose to rebel against the cruel chains of fate that it was dealt. The family he was brought into were a ’feral’ bunch, even considerably amongst that of other demons. His kin were a tribe, wrathful and violent, sadistic and malicious. Would one find it hard to fathom that they even tried to prolong what bloodline they had, by not ’watering’ it down any further amongst other demons? Clinging so desperately to the ability that they all possessed, the only thing that may signify importance in their otherwise insignificant lives. Such would later be their own downfall, their insanity and chaotic nature playing the role of a disease to them and a threat/hindrance to other demons.

There were multiple problems within Shenovi’s own family, many he was subjected to as a young child. There was always internal conflict, the males possessing a superiority complex to challenge and try to dominate their way over the entire ‘household.’ It wouldn’t come as a surprise that his brothers may kill one another, that his father(or could a head figure be seen as that as there were many rises and falls) would lay down his hand. Threats to authority were swiftly and deadly dealt with, and even there were other occurrences where one can see their end.

Shenovi’s ‘own’ was brought forth at a young age.  His twisted elder brothers thought that it may be amusing to take him out for a ‘swim.’ The poor child was tossed into many of the grand, bloody lakes, of hell and neither of his siblings offer to help him when he begun to drown. To them, it was gleeful amusement in their eyes, a sick, morbid sense of humor to observe a fellow water demon be done in by the contents of their own element. Naturally, the boy at that time should of died, should of vanished in an abyss of crimson, but such wasn’t the case.

Even as his young form drifted towards the bottom of the lake, he begun to change. Perhaps it was because he was pitted against life or death, the natural need to survived that saved him. Maybe he was already ‘gifted’ amongst his kin at an early age, though the end result was a grotesque one. A first and ’only’ time that Shen would transform, forgoing his human characteristics and taking on his natural shark, humanoid image. His crimson eyes can still recall the disbelief on the faces of his cruel brothers, and then the sweet horror that follow when he tore one of their limbs from their own socket. Death was their punishment and bliss was his own salvation when he listened to their terrified screams and agonizing cries.

Once it was over, he found himself ‘human,’, bare, stranded, bathed in red. This was his end of following along with a family that may otherwise kill him should he return without his disfigured and mutilated brothers. He knew his survival alone would be a rough one. Still, he had no desire to end like those three at his feet, he wouldn’t be scattered and forgotten in a bloody mess of hell.

The Obsession

Growing up within hell by himself was the equivalent of running a gauntlet. Each day was no different to the last, true madness. There were always predators, fellow demons that sought to devour the weak,‘kin’ that Shenovi had to avoid or otherwise outwit, just to remain alive.  Survival of the fittest, through and through, this was his life or in essence, the life of any demon. His reward, on the contrary, being madness, engulfed in it, What amount of sanity he may have had left was only saved by one thing, an oddity  he had came upon and something he rarely lets out of his sight today,

A rag doll, now how such a thing ended up in the underworld is still a question that plagues the demon’s mind, even to this day. How could he ignored such peculiar ‘toy?’ In time, it became the only company he had, the only company that would never betray him or try to harm him even. It was his special partner in crime, and ultimately it has taken upon many names and identities through his lifetime. It has even changed in image here and there, whenever Shenovi may see fit to redesign it from his victim’s belongings.

This inanimate object, perhaps useless in most eyes, has became an extension to Shenovi’s own sanity level. For better or for worse, it has ‘tagged along’ wherever the growing demonic fiend went. It has been an observer to Shenovi’s corrupted nature and even an participant, though the victims never made it far when handling something so ‘precious’ to the demon. In fact, he wasn’t so willing to part with it much till the later, grown up years, of his uncaring life. By then, he had learned how to fully stitch it, should some playmate of his should choose to be a smartass in ripping his toy apart.

Though putting back together the doll wasn’t his only obsession, the demon took it a step further when he discovered the beauty in art, even if it came from a morbid point of view. Also, art itself he had found can instill fear in others and when one may take the time in desecrating the corpses of their prey, and rearranging the body parts and organs in a bloody mess; chances are, not many other demons would dare set foot in that vicinity out of fear of living out a similar scenario. Of course, this doesn’t work for all fiends, but it had lessen some pursuits and had left Shenovi with more time to rest and ’play.’

Still, these two weren’t his only obsessions. His antics were small feats, something he could see, that were just prolonging his own untimely demise. Ultimately he had no choice but to get stronger, to get faster, still his stationing as a demon was one that left little room for such feats. He had no means to limit his own strengths as they currently were and even giving those beneath him some handicap wasn’t satisfactory enough when he still crushed them; and those above his level, well, depending on the gap he often had no choice but to avoid confrontation.

The Pact

-Coming soon to a character background near you!-

Wickedness:
The Pact
Shenovi has formed a pact with the Oath Maker. The pact itself places multiple limiters on his power, which also allows his powers to continuously grow while he ‘trains’ himself against opponents on an equal or lesser footing. He cannot freely deactivate the limiters, nor can the limiters be inactivated upon him without his consent. A mutual agreement must always be made at all times with the contractor, for any stages of his power to be brought into light. If he should fail to otherwise follow orders from the Oath Maker, then his life can be easily forfeit. If all limiters are released at the same time, then he achieves his freedom. However, once a limiter is released, it is not lost, he will forever be boundd by them and the Oath Maker can easily return them as long as she doesn’t release all seven.

The levels of his power in equal strength is as follows.
0 - Regular human/Nephilim
1- Nephilim
2- Able to take on Nephilim + ability
3 - Infernal/Cherub
4 - Infernal/Cherub + ability
5- Arch Angel/Demon
6 - Arch Angel/Demon + ability.
7 -  Freedom and Ultimately the Pentacle of his Power.

The additions in ability do not increase the amount of abilities he possess, instead they increase the capabilities of his own ability.

Minor Ability:
Hydromancy - As rare as it may be foreseen, though given his ancestor, Shenovi possesses a natural control over water and other liquids containing the contents of water. Hence his blood, the blood of his enemies, or whatever else in general.
Stage I: Shenovi is immobile, though as long as physical touch is maintain, he can change the density and volume of anything containing water within it around him. This can be used to shield himself, attack, or whatever properties he may see fit underneath his control. Unfortunately,  he cannot freely move as a result and only when so, he must cancel his control.
Stage II: Mobility is gained, however as usual, Shenovi must keep an active physical link to the element underneath his control.
Stage III: Physical links are no longer a requirement, if liquids are within a close enough vicinity, he can draw them automatically to himself. He can also propel liquids at a target.  (Of course, it won't be a 'splash attack'<Kudos if you got that joke> more like 'spear,' 'bullets,' or something of that like to penetrate flesh)

Flaws:

Pride: Despite his horrific nature, Shenovi is indeed a very proud creature. He will hardly result to undermined tactics in a straight up battle. Because of this, he always refuses to fight above an enemy’s standing. He has no desire or drive in going ‘all out.’ Maybe this also plays into a factor of his own arrogance, still as far as physical conflict is concerned, Shenovi is quite the ‘honorable’ creature. Though he is also still a demon, he may fight ‘fair,’ but by his standards that is of a similar power level of his opponent. Anything else goes.

Strain: A rise of power and then sudden fall is often straining on even his body. The limiters he possess are nothing to be joked about, each time release may serve as a boost in physical attributes, but once returned they weigh heavily upon his body. Also if too many are released at the same time, it may draw a pause of ‘sluggishness’ and slower kick in for his body to adjust. Therefore for these blunders to be avoided, he usually requests their releases one at a time, as for their ‘returns’ well, he is beyond the control of that.

Chaotic Nature: Shenovi has no quarrels with who or what he may end up in a fight with. Normally he doesn’t ‘start’ fights, as in starting with throwing the first attack. Of course that can’t be both said true to him instigating a conflict by his way of words. He has a habit of provoking others, but this is also a side of him that actively seeks out battle.

Wrath: Shenovi’s own governing sin. He is a highly vengeful creature, and if he believes he has been ‘wronged’ in some manner, then he won’t rest to have his revenge. He may even forgo throwing the first punch, depending on the seriousness of the offense, still Shenovi tends to take it far. An arm for a finger. A head for an eye.

Enslaved: As expected, Shenovi is bound by contract,  bound to the Iurus Formator. What means of ‘free will,’ is gone. What ‘servitude’ to the Prince is also abolished. Shenovi follows no one but his contractor, and her orders are absolute. Should he overstep his agreement, then his life will be terminated.  Until he is set ‘free’ of the all the limiters, then he will continue to be her faithful minion. Honestly, what choice does he have?

Oooo.*shivers*  Tis Drake!

You have my approval...only...your minor ability, seems not so minor.  Anon, *twiddles her fingers* Is there a way to play the ability without being too powerful?

*blows kisses*
I am working on it, I swear!

Remiel

This seems strangely fitting. ;D

How so? On the power rating to his 'minor ability?' Because each stage requires him to release his limiters for him to use his ability or his ability to strengthen. Well, every two stages, rather. (With second limiter release, he gains his ability, fourth it increases, sixth it increases one last time) His powers overall are always limited, I don't see him being overpowered given the contract he has and the fact he fights on equal footing of his opponents.

If Arch Demons/Angels target his mistress, it is only fair for him to have some edge to even out the odds, is it not?

Lady Kitsune

#47
Name:Izuriel
Age: As old as the Dawn of Time
Faction: Angel
Angelic/Demonic Status:Seraphim
Appearance:
Beautiful, as any creature of Heaven, she has wings of soft dove gray with pinions tipped in black.  Once they were white, to her sorrow.

Personality:Izuriel has a mighty temper that she keeps in check with the great force of her will.  An Angel of Justice and Punishment, she is cold and prone to sarcasm.  A lusty Angel, she likes to play with her victims and oft times pushes boundaries just to see if she can be overpowered. Around humanity for too long, she is no longer as pure as she once was, this being her punishment.  Too bad she is enjoying it.

Biography:When the stars came into existence so did Izuriel.  She was light born new and happy.  Then the Almighty created the World, the Host rejoiced.  When he created humans, she was curious.  They were intriguing creatures and she rejoiced.  They lacked the power and beauty of the angels but there roughness fueled her curiosity.  Assigned as a Watcher, she partook of their strange pleasures.  This was deemed wrong much to her annoyance and still she secretly returned.

Reprimanded for her indiscretions, an Angel of love, she was forced to be an Angel of Justice and Punishment.  Millennium of death and mercilessness and she had become a different kind of creature.  An outcast Angel but part of the Host as her position was needed.  Too skilled and knowledgeable to let Fall, she was relegated to her duties for Eternity.

Yet she grew tired of destruction, it held no glamour for her and she missed her loving ways, scarred by the knowledge that she could never be fully capable of that purity, tainted by death and cruelty.  She began to refuse her orders and after many centuries, she was locked into a star as punishment to contemplate her disobedience.

A century passed and a war between demons and angels was waging.  It was commanded by the Almighty that it cease and a new set of rules was set.  She was Chosen to decide Armageddon.  She was reluctant but even she could not refuse a direct order from God.  The Angels worried about her state of mind but she was one of the most powerful Angels.  And she had the specific skill set to handle Demons since she had dealt with them in her Punishments.

Grace/Wickedness:

Hand of Searing Light: A white hot light from hands can burn.

Song of Seraphim: Her voice in song, can heal or lure like a Siren’s call.  When angry , she can call the winds or burst one’s insides.

Sword of Justice: As an Angel of Justice and Punishment she can call to her hand a mighty sword, flaming with the fires of Heaven.

Flaws:

Curiosity: Izuriel has to know.  She is like Pandora, even if you told her the contents, she would have to see for herself.

Desire: A former Angel of Love, she can no longer feel the purity of the highest emotion in the world.  She can only feel an inkling of her past through Desire.  She seeks comfort where she can but don’t think she is an angelic whore, she just has a problem.  It can be Desire for material things or touch, she craves it.

Insanity: Trapped in a star for over a hundred years can do wonders to your mind and hers was near breaking if an Angel could break like that.  Fits of rage and sudden changes in her plans, makes her unpredictable.

I see.  Then it shall be interesting indeed.   :-)

Woohooo!  Double posted!
I am working on it, I swear!

minerva7790

I have interest in that second Archangel job. But, of course, that depends on Kirinis! For now, I'll post as a Cherub. But ehh, let me know if the position is open for application? ;) And I hope this is good for the RP!

Name: Tiffania
Age: A woman's age is secret. But of course, angels are ageless.
Faction: Angel
Angelic/Demonic Status: Cherub
Appearance:

Tired of her peers wearing white all the time, Tiffania began to wear black, to differentiate herself from the rest of heaven. Soon after, however, she got addicted to to it. It matches well with her black hair anyway.
Personality: For an angel, Tiffania is surprisingly down-to-earth: something she assumes she had not lost even after death. All her years of existence manipulating the truth to the Nephilim have only served to improve her wit and sarcasm. But despite all these things that Tiffania holds on to in order to set herself apart from the other angels, she is compassionate and pure of heart, just like her peers. It isn't something she flaunts at will, but she supposes that she does need to have some good in her that qualifies her as an angel. No matter how contrary she would like to be, however, Tiffania is unquestioningly loyal to her faction, and to Izuriel, whom she looks up to.
Biography: Tiffania was born as shy little girl. She consciously worked to keep herself out of trouble throughout her twenty years of life. She never disobeyed her parents, never drank, never skipped classes... That did not stop the car accident from happening, however. Tiffania died an untimely death at age twenty, still a virgin, and was transformed into a Nephilim. Because she had been so used to being good, it wasn't long before she ascended to the ranks of the angels. But the longer Tiffania spent in the afterlife, the longer she desired to change things, beginning with her clothing, and then her personality. She knows that being contrary to her peers is dangerous, and going too far might earn her mana points. She is thus careful to keep within boundaries.
Grace/Wickedness:
Calming the storm. Tiffania plays her flute to soothe distraught emotions and minds in turmoil. Her melody can put crying babies to a sweet sleep, and, if she plays long enough, cause enemies to forget their feud and become friends. Once she stops playing, however, if the cause of the 'storm' persists, the effects of her melody will eventually be cancelled out again.
Flaws: (Any weaknesses or desires. 3 minimum, 5 maximum.)
Living on the edge. Tiffania is tired of the clean life she has lived on earth. Having discovered first-hand that being 'good' seldom reaps any rewards, Tiffania likes to test the boundaries. This, of course, puts her in danger of earning Mana. It is not that Tiffania has the desire to be evil, but that she is curious to know a life outside the mundane normalcy of angels.
Guilty conscience. As a consequence to her desire to 'live on the edge', Tiffania is often guilt-ridden. She knows that this curiousity will one day be the end of her -- literally. As aforementioned, she is totally loyal to her faction and to her mistress, and does not wish to do anything that would earn her disapproval. She supposes this guilt means that she isn't fit to be wild and rebellious, as demons are, and it soothes her somewhat that she is still accepted as an angel. Still, this internal struggle continues to rage day after day within her, much to her dismay.
Easily bored. Having lived long in the afterlife, there is little left to do in heaven that can entertain her. As such, Tiffania often spends her time observing the lives of mortals and of the Nephilim, exposing herself to all their vices. Every now and then, she gets ever so tempted to intervene and change things around using her power, even though she knows she shouldn't.
Blind trust. Tiffania's trust in her mistress, Izuriel, is unwavering. She probably knows that the Seraphim is not infallible, just like all other angels. But if she does, she chooses to ignore it. Lady Izuriel is, after all, someone she holds in the highest regard.
Mana: () () () () [Mana apply to Cherubs/Infernals only. Basically, if a Cherub commits an act of evil or vice versa, they will receive a mark of Mana. Upon reaching three, they will receive a visit from the Arch Angel/Demon with a warning. When committing four, the Prince/Seraphim will personally visit to put an end to them.]

For daws to peck at: I am not what I am.'
