Since the result has been overwhelming in favor of a Camarilla-centered game, I've edited this post to reflect the sort of character creation rules I want to use, as well as a bit of city details to help everyone sort out their backgrounds.

The game is going to be based in the city of Seattle.   From the 1970s until 2000 the city was an Anarch-city, until the Brujah baron was bribed and/or blackmailed into declaring his loyalty to the Camarilla at the turn of the century and proclaimed himself as Prince.  Since that time, the city has been contested between the Anarchs who feel betrayed and want to take their territory back and the Camarilla who have invested considerable resources in acquiring the city and shaping it to suit their needs.   Most of the conflict has been 'cold war' in style with the occasional spat of physical violence spilling onto the streets.

However such internal conflict did not go unnoticed for long. With it's attention divided, the Camarilla failed to notice the Sabbat gaining a foothold in the nearby city of Tacoma.  With forces gathering to the south and a large support system to the north based in Vancouver, the Sabbat is in a position to tighten a noose around the city if it can't settle its political turmoil in time.

Character creation rules

All of the standard Camarilla clans are available, as well as the Independents.  Note that this is after the Gangrel's departure from the Camarilla officially, so if you are playing a Gangrel please specify if you are Independent or Camarilla-aligned.

Attributes and Abilities are capped at 4 as the highest score.  The exception to this is Linguistics which can go to 5 if you feel it suits the character's background.  No more than two Attributes at 4, and they can not be in the same category (so no Strength and Dexterity 4, or Charisma and Manipulation, etc...)

Characters can be any age up to 100 years undead.  If you want to play a character that is younger than that you are welcomed to do so as well, but a century under the blood is the maximum.  Whatever age, the characters will be assumed to have already undergone their presentation to the court and received the Prince's acknowledgement, and so will have Camarilla Status 1 for free.

Standard character creation rules apply in terms of number of points available.  However, I have decided to mimic the effects of the Age background by giving everyone an additional 30 freebie points to spend.   So that means a total of 45 freebies rather than the normal fifteen.   There are of course conditions on how to spend that, which are:

Generation is capped at 5 dots.  All other backgrounds are capped at 3.
A total of six dots in Disciplines are allowed.  So the three points you get at creation, plus up to three additional dots purchased with freebie points.   No Discipline can be higher than 3, and no clan-specific Disciplines can be purchased at creation.  For example, no Thaumaturgy for non-Tremere characters, no Protean for non-Gangrel and so forth.  You can however purchase what I call the eight common powers:  Animalism, Auspex, Celerity, Dominate, Fortitude, Potence, Presence, and Obfuscate.   Any Caitiff characters should also take their initial Disciplines from the common powers as well.

Tremere Characters should begin with Path of Blood as their primary Thaumaturgy path.   Tremere also recieve one ritual free per level of Thaumaturgy (so if a character has Thaum 2, they would have a Level One ritual and a Level Two ritual for free).  Additional rituals can be purchased with one freebie point per level of the ritual, up to a maximum number of rituals known at creation equal to the character's Thaumaturgy rating x 2.

Influence will be determined for specific sectors in the city.   So you can buy Influence (Church) but would have to buy Influence (Police) seperately.  I will have a list of the various sectors of Influence available in a later posting, once I find the necessary book.

Influence Sectors
Bureaucracy
Church
Finance
Health
High Society
Industry
Legal
Media
Occult
Police
Political
Street
Transportation
Underworld
University

Because of giving the Age background for free, you also will deduct one point from your Humanity/Path score at creation as well.  You can however buy that dot back with freebies if you wish.  Remember that paths are highly suspect within Camarilla society and may make one a target for "Sabbat sympathies" if uncovered.

Combination discipline powers as presented in the various clan books and guide books will be handled on a case-by-case basis, but are not available at creation.

No NPC sires will be approved (so no being the childe of the prince, or one of the primogen, and so forth).  If players want to come in as members of the same "family" (ie, share the same sire from the city they were embraced in before moving to Seattle) that will be acceptable.

I think that covers the nuts and bolts of things enough for right now to let people start working on their backgrounds and sending them to me.   Once I get my home PC back and set up again, I'll likely make an opening post for the story.   I am going to post it in the Extreme category, simply because that provides coverage if the chronicle goes in that direction.  It's no guarantee that it will, but better safe than sorry I say.

Chulanowa

werewolf player here, though can do Vampire. Not much interest in Mage, though.

Will there be any crossover fun? I've never done oWoD, but I'm willing to try, I'd just prefer to be Mage.

I think for now I'd rather have a single system party just for the ease of everyone being on the same page.  If the game turns out to be successful and popular enough though I wouldn't be opposed to introducing cross-over into the mix.

Bah, poor luck on my part then! Well, I hope it takes off for you! And if it's Werewolf I may consider joining-I hate to be 'that guy', but nWoD did more to turn me off vampires then Twilight ever could.

I never read much of the new Vampire game, but from what I heard from others I wasn't that impressed with Requiem either.  Then again, I'm not fond of the whole nWoD anyway so...yeah.  Hence going old school with this idea. :D

Yeah, no blame here. I might check out VtM and see what it is, if it's good, I might jump in anyway.

A real vampire game (no glitter :-) ) could be interesting though I'm not well versed in the VtM canon.  Still, I will be keeping an eye on this.

Up for any of those. In order of preference: Mage, Vampire, Werewolf.

I'm most familiar with VtM and it's my overall favorite, but it's also the one that's generally easiest to find and so my first pick when a choice is given will always be Mage. Unless Wraith or Kindred of the East are in the running, because those are super rare.

If Vampire is what the majority picks (which at the moment it's in the lead but I'll give it a few more days), then there will be time to decide which sect we want to go with. :-)

Alas, that's what most people say regarding KotE. That and how unfamiliar a setting it is, but between archaic vampiric societies, tribal werewolves, fantasy rpgs and other such things I never really understood that argument.

Kindred of the East is an entirely different view of vampires than most people are used to handling along with a completely different set of cultural norms and ideas than most Western people are familiar.  While an awesome style and setup, the game is very different and very grounded in Eastern philosophy and culture.  White Wolf did too good of a job with it in my opinion.

And as for Vampire Clans..hmm.  Lasombra are always my favorites, but I can also go for a Ventrue.

Very good point. Plus, then I'd probably be a Revenant (if I am remembering correctly), and those are different than ghouls. I'm unfamiliar with the Sabbat ghoul families, but very familiar with the Camarilla ghouls.

While a good solid game of Mage makes me happy in my special places, Mage seems to suffer from a dire lack of popularity... and a nasty case of munchkinitis.

That said, I'm down for Mage or Vampire if you're seeking another player.

Beginners are welcomed, since we all start out that way eventually. :-)

Since it appears that Vampire the Masquerade is the most popular choice, we'll go with that as the system of choice for this little group game (or as I suspect it will be called once it gets underway: How to Drive Hades Even More Insane :P ).   So that means now determining if you lot would prefer a Camarilla-primary game or Sabbat-primary game.  Be aware though that when I say primary, that doesn't exclude the Independent clans automatically as most of them are happy to deal with either sect for the right sort of payment and/or boons.

So I'll leave that question up until the 12th and then we'll go from there.

I would prefer a Camarilla game, too.  And, if you need a co-GM for sheets, bouncing ideas off of and things of that general nature, I've been playing V:tM for around 17 years online.  I make a really crappy ST, though, so while I can help think of stuff and do other ST-ish things, I wouldn't really be up for actual scene-running.  At least, not on a large scale.

CalliLurk

*whaps Bibli and laughs* Crappy ST my rear end... anyways Cam is my preferred as well.

Chulanowa

Well... given the online format, I think something that gives the PC's a common point of interest works best - Sabbat brings us a pack, Anarchs gives us a gang, and Camarilla gives us a herd of cats who hate each other. That said, in terms of theme and flavor I DO prefer Camarilla, i just have concerns over how well it works in the format  ;D

Chu don't forget on the TT sheets Cam has a Coterie. So that is what we could go with for Cam.

Yay!!!! Mmmh Sabbat would be a blast for what I've read but I think it'd also be the hardest faction to play, especially for a beginner so...my vote goes to Camarilla.

I'm tentatively interested. You mention system in the opening post; does this mean it'll be a system game? If so, will we use V20? Also, when and where will the game be set?

I am definitely interested if you need more players. I have a fair deal of experience with VtM and VtDA.

I am down for a Camarilla or Sabbat game.

A hard of cats who hate each other, perhaps, but a herd of cats that banded together because they're being watched by rabid dogs and need the help.

That's half the fun of a Cammie game, that coteries form less from a basis of trust and respect and more from a basis of "our parents are dicks, wanna fuck 'em over?"

Josietta

I'm good for either but if i need to vote i'd say Camarilla.

And Lunar says he'll come back to E for this.

I really like the idea of a small-group Camarilla game, but without a lot of world-building we'd need some kind of structure to generate some conflict and alliances (I like the mention of a coterie).  Also, it'd be good to establish if we'd be core 7 clans... and are we flexible on some of the core concepts (like sex is fun for Kindred and doesn't cost a shitload of blood traits, maybe?)

Just speculating, and I know you're still measuring interest, but this might be more concrete if you have settled on a specific scenario (city, time, general plot cookies) to get started from?

If its just Vampire i am happy but would rather be camarilla.

Sabbat gets old really quick.

Hades

I haven't decided on any of the major details yet, but what I can tell people based on how the votes are going thus far in favor of a Camarilla game is as follows.

The game will be set in current times, likely somewhere on the West Coast and most likely in one of the bigger cities in California.  The city will be held by a Prince and a Primogen council, though the dynamics of that power-play are still forming in my head.  We will also be using the VtM 3rd edition rules, as I much prefer them over the 20th anniversary material.  You will be playing characters that have been undead for about a century, so you're past the stage of being considered a neonate and just getting your toes wet in the ancilla end of the pool.

The core Camarilla clans are available, and since this will be set in the region, anarchs will also be an option as well.   The more "rare" bloodlines (Lasombra antitribu, Samedi, Gargoyles and so forth) will be considered, but you will have to do a much more detailed background than I'm asking for for the more normal clan options.   For the Independent clans, all four are available, but remember this is post-Week of Nightmares (so the Ravnos numbers have been decimated) and is also after the breaking of the blood curse on the Assamites and the Schism that came as a result of it.    Also, blood magic of any sort won't be available for any non-Tremere clans, but may be a possibility in the future.

Since I mentioned backgrounds, I'm not going to ask for a huge background write-up (unless you feel like doing so) beyond one that answers the basic questions of what was your character's life like prior to the embrace, how they came to the attention of their sire, and any memorable events you've been involved in over the course of a century.

Chulanowa

Hades, can I ask one favor?

If we're going West Coast, can it please pretty please NOT be Los Angeles?  ;D

I've been playing in a Los angeles-based game for like 8 years now and, wow, i need a break from that. Might i suggest murky, bacon-flavored Portland?

Bibliophilia

Portland would be preferable.  I'm in that same game, for about a year less than him.  I crave fog and rain and tits that are real!

Well it was an attempt at snarky humor none the less, sorry for the failure. Been playing since the game debuted I wanna say it was 91 or 92. I actually still have the preview flyer of "Monsters, Monsters Everywhere" that was sent out before the book release. I was never so excited by a game in my whole life. Though I am not a fan of playing cannon with the Minds Eye Theater and all that ....We always built our own towns and worlds and such, the official Cam story and all that was never of any interest to me.

The core book, the Guide to the Camarilla and the clan book for the particular clan that you are interested in playing would be my recommendation for everyone having.  The player's handbook was nice, but it was also 2nd edition and as far as I know never received an update to revised.

If anyone needs help finding pdf copies of these books, they can be found at DriveThru RPG just by searching for Vampire the Masquerade material.

I have a very extensive collection, but lack some of the By Night city books. I'm also very proud of my complete Kindred of the East set (including the books they made for the other main lines), the few Wraith books I managed to scrounge together and ... Mummy.  XD

I find that KOE is waaaay overpowered. And cannot be mixed with normal Vampire as its too unbalancing.

Just look at the V:tM Bloodlines game. The KOE in it would kick your ass no problem.

Hades> Lunar and I have a character sheet (basic .txt version) for Vampire if you'd like to take a look at it, unless you already have one made up.

I'm thinking of going Gangrel.  I typically go for Toreador in Cam games, but I want to do something a bit different.  A scrappy little Gangrel girl would be fun.

Just feels like you have to have a bachelors in Asian art and history to do KoE justice.

KotE is also a different game, that's like saying Werewolves are too powerful compared to Neonates. The Wan Kuei have their own disadvantages, though, and their disciplines cost as much as Mage spheres to increase. Vampires have it easy by comparison. Becoming one of the Ten Thousand Demons is basically torture, hell, torture and some more hell on top.  XD

I also have a sheet that could be used, simple .txt like Josietta's.  Makes copy/pasting it into a post quite easy.

But isn't that the fun part? I always loved the depth of depravity you could go into with those characters. And yet there is this almost ritualistic pattern in which you have to increase your powers. The complexity is delicious!

A.txt sheet would be alot easier to handle and send through PMs at least.   So that works fine with me.

Yeees. It is. I'd love a good game of KotE ... only found one once on RPOL, but it was ... well, terrible and best not spoken of. Ahhh, to cultivate Bakemono in the torture gardens ... hm, I may have to read up on the terminology sometime, but my first pick would be a Devil Tiger. Plenty of things I'd love to do with other Dharma, including the forbidden ones, but that would require actual games to exist.

Speaking of sparkling, one time, in a VtM game a while back, I was playing a Malk who was a trickster by Nature. One day, he set up a trick; you guys know the 'bucket of water' trick, where someone walks through a partly open door, and there's a bucket of water balanced on the top of it? So the person gets doused?

Well, my Malk did that. But, instead of water, it was glitter.  First one of his Coterie to come through and get glittered, my Malk made a bit of a drama fit (drama student before the Embrace), and weeped over how his dear friend had acquired "Edward Cullens' Disease".

They were not nearly as amused as everyone else was.  >:)

Most WW character sheets do look similar with minor differences to whatever type you are playing, IE in Werewolf you would have Gnosis and Rage.

Also, Hades can't get online until his computer is out of the shop, so he likely won't get back to us for another day or two.

I might go with a Toreador for once.  I've never gotten to actually play one.

And someone has to show the world Toreador don't have to be simpering idiots, right?

I'll wait until the aforementioned updated requirements before I do anything though, I'm totally interested and would like to play but I'll hold off on write-ups until I know what's wanted.

Hmm, debating between Toreador or Gangrel. If I go Gangrel, I can't shake the idea of a somewhat handsome man in a nice suit, taking you for everything you got as you sign away your company, then he flashes you a sharktoothed grin and tells you it was quite fun to duke it out with you...Although, that might be more served by a Ventrue.

I think what I got in my head was a friend's old Shark Shaman from Shadowrun 3e and then, in the wild chaos that is my mind, it became a Gangrel who 'hunts' among the corrupt elite. But hey, chaos is a good thing. Right?

Notes
Backgrounds
Allies
Daniel maintains close ties to Brian Philips, the news director for KIRO channel 7, sharing ‘dinner’ with the man and his family once every couple of weeks, using this connection to keep an eye on local stories and very occasionally manipulating them as necessary.

Contacts
Daniel keeps track of one of the younger anchors at KING channel 5 news, as well as a reporter for the Seattle Times, occasionally trading favors to be kept apprised of changes in the network and paper’s policies as well as occasional copies of stories that have been buried.

Herd
Brian, Sandy, and their daughter’s “dinners” tend to be more for Daniel’s benefit than theirs.

Influence
While he uses this influence in any active capacity only sparingly, it is nevertheless valuable to have eyes, ears, and hands in the television and print news media.

Resources
Nearly a century of unlife has left Daniel with a surplus of available funds.  While he does not manage his money directly, he is capable of evaluating finance specialists well enough, and impressing them enough, to feel relatively secure that his assets are being managed well.

Retainers
Daniel has two ghouls, Janet and Simon, who act as secretary/legal proxy and driver/bodyguard respectively.  In addition to this, he maintains a relationship with a very young Toreador, acting in a mentor-like capacity to young Oscar.  While normally a Kindred retainer would probably cost more than a single point, Daniel’s relationship with Oscar is weaker than that of a usual retainer, and is intended to represent Oscar taking Daniel as a Mentor as much as anything else.

Status
Daniel has spent a great deal of effort making himself a valuable Camarilla asset in Seattle over the last decade and a half.  He has garnered some respect—and potentially some enemies.

Flaw
Enemy
Daniel’s first attempts to move into the media met with unmitigated failure, as an attempt to overtake control over an Omni Television station’s news network met unexpected and stiff resistance.  He saw an opportunity to move into another station and took it rather than extending a protracted influence battle, but made an enemy of the station manager along the way.

Daniel is unaware that the station manager is not fully human.  The station manager is equally unaware of Daniel’s state.  This is probably best for everyone involved, as should either of them become aware of the other’s ‘condition’, things may escalate from behind the scenes maneuvering into a bloody battle very quickly.

Specialties
Attributes
Intelligence: “Just As Planned”
Manipulation: “What is he up to?”

Abilities
Expression: Cynical Satire
Subterfuge: “Never suspected a thing…”

History
History
Born in France early in the prior century, Daniel was a writer who saw a great need for social change in his country as he watched the first World War rage across the nation.  His writings, though never terribly popular, found traction amongst a particular sort of young firebrand, and he caught the eye of several soldiers that found his criticism… lacking.  Caught alone one evening, he was beaten to within an inch of his life, and would likely have died were he not saved by his sire.

Embraced that very night, Daniel quickly discovered that while his sire had targeted him for the Embrace for several weeks, and found his works terribly amusing, there was little tolerance for challenging the Camarilla’s social structure.  Growing bitter and cynical, at first, Daniel found himself floundering in the pool of sharks that was the European Camarilla, and it was quickly apparent that he would find nothing but ridicule and punishment for his dark, biting sense of humor.

It was early in the 1940s that Daniel determined to leave for America.  His sire was not pleased with the decision, but it was not until the Germans Blitzkrieg overran much of France that Mikhael finally chose to allow it.  Daniel could never know that Mikhael never thought his vessel would arrive in America.

Daniel found it difficult to settle in America, at first, but by the 1960s had found that America, like Daniel himself, had grown tired of watching a world tear itself apart.  His writing enjoyed a surge of popularity during this period, but it was little more than a passing fad, as the peace movements and social changes of the 60s were no place for the bitter, jaded cynicism of a man who watched his country burn twice.

The 90s saw Daniel’s writing grow popular once more, and during this period he even tried his hand at songwriting, though he found himself woefully unsuited to it, and returned to his preferred milieu of social commentary and bitter parable.  His books found a small cult following for a short while, but never found more than mediocre success.  Still, it was better than nothing, and Daniel has never given up on it.

When the Baron joined the Camarilla, Daniel saw in this a chance, an opportunity, and for the first time in his unlife seized it with both hands.  After a few initial stumbles, he found a bit of stable ground, and has determined that this will be his hill, one way or another.  He’s found a home, and a certain countercultural acceptance for his work.  For the first time in over a decade, Daniel feels he may finally have found home.

And he will be damned if he watches this one burn.

Yeah, if people want to make their characters younger than a century undead they are certainly free to do so.  One hundred years is simply the maximum.  And for the sake of game balance, everyone will use the same creation rules, regardless of the age of your characters.

That being said, once people start getting their backgrounds and sheets done feel free to send them to me via PM so I can put them in my folder to keep track of everyone.

Thought you all might like to see the character I submitted to Hades last night.

Freddie 'the Bat' Murnau

Name: Freddie "The Bat" Murnau

Clan: Nosferatu

Path: Humanity

Appearance: Freddie was given his nickname, "The Bat", due to his exceptionally large ears and his bat-like nose. His skin is the grayish-white of a corpse and is frequently grimy from the muck of the sewers. He has dark, sunken-in eyes, though decent lighting reveals that his eyes are gray. Freddie is almost entirely bald, but a few black wisps still haven't fallen out yet. Perhaps the most disturbing part of Freddie's appearance is his fangs, long and yellowing and apparently unretractable. Of course, Freddie knows that his appearance is off-putting, so to keep from making negotiations or business dealings more difficult than they have to be, he typically wears a bandana and hoodie to conceal his face and ears.

Personality: Freddie was an outcast and a loner throughout much of his life, being a foster kid and a computer nerd in the 80s and 90s, and learned to accept that and thrive in those conditions. Freddie practiced manipulating people and computer systems into doing exactly what he wanted them to do. He took to being a Nosferatu fairly well, after the initial shock and depression, and upon being integrated into Kindred society as best a Nosferatu can, he became somewhat voyeuristic. Hacking security cameras, installing webcams, or planting a listening device here or there, Freddie wants to watch the goings-on in the city, Kindred and kine alike. Maybe it's because his he's trying to understand the society he never fully connected with. Maybe it's to keep his information fresh. Or maybe, just maybe, Freddie likes to watch.

Freddie, or "the Bat" as he's sometimes called, knows that information is valuable, and he is very much available for work, whether it's information, spyware, or security footage you need. He may seem like a loner at heart, but when there's payment involved, he's your best friend.

Background: Freddie was born in a small town in Washington state, to a single, alcoholic mom with a penchant for dangerous boyfriends. He never knew his father and after having the police answer several domestic violence calls at their home and arrest his mother for several DUIs, he was taken into foster care at the age of 8. Along with the move to foster care came a brand new school across town, and in the new environment, Freddie's talent with computers became evident. Within a few years, he had progressed from playing games and dealing with temperamental computers to writing his own programs and repairing the computers when they crashed. Freddie's aptitude drew the attention of a few jealous kids who would bully him on occasion early in high school, but those he couldn't manipulate into leaving him alone faced a different fate: Freddie would hack into the school's database and alter their grades, causing them to be transferred into remedial classes and away from him.
By the time he graduated high school and the Internet had become a part of his life, he was a fully-fledged hacker, writing both malicious and benign programs that he started selling to interested parties online, anonymously, from his laptop in his dormroom. He hadn't been making a fortune, but it had paid for his first three years of college at Washington State University and honed his programming and hacking skills to what he had thought was their peak. In October 1999, near the beginning of his senior year in college, he had begun experimenting with the code necessary to create his own search engine, which he wanted to be different from the popular search engines of the day in that it searched farther and deeper into the recesses of the Internet. What he didn't expect his mutated search engine would dredge up, while his roommates were at a Halloween party, no less, was some kind of parallel Internet, piggybacked onto the real Internet, that contained...well, at first he didn't know what to make of it. References to something called "kindred" and reports of strange activity in various cities around the world. Then, his computer crashed and he could only see the 'Blue Screen of Death.' While he spent the next hour alone in his dormroom trying to reboot his computer and search through his files to get back to that weird piggybacked network (only to find his search engine's database corrupted), across the country his location had been traced and his whereabouts phoned in to a local Nosferatu named Greta Schroeder. She was sent to kill him to protect the Masquerade, but when she made her way into the dorm, disguised by Mask of a Thousand Faces, and met him in person, she saw a potential in him that she wanted to put to her own use, rather than snuff out entirely.
For his part, Freddie was surprised to see a lovely woman on the other side of his door, and when she started asking about the activities of the past hour, he wondered just what trouble he had gotten himself into. When she asked about his talent with computers, he felt more comfortable, thinking he was going to be recruited into some secret government project or something. And after a few more minutes' conversation, she lunged for his neck and sank her fangs into his skin.
When Freddie awoke, he was horrified to find that he had been changed, he had been turned into some kind of a freak with big, pointed ears and huge, sharp fangs, or tusks more like it, and that he was in a sewer with another freakish person...but in retrospect, he's quite happy she brought his laptop along, sealed up in a garbage bag to keep the sewage out.
Over the past thirteen years, the Bat has spent the majority of his free time spying on the activities (both online and offline) of the kine and some Kindred of Seattle. He still sells/barters the software he writes (often over SchreckNET, with a "family discount" for other Nosferatu, of course) but his true passion now is the accumulation of information, which can be much more lucrative than selling the odd virus here or spyware there.

Hades

You can PM the sheet and background to me if you want to keep it all a mystery.  Or if you are okay with everyone knowing your background that's fine too.  Once I get the NPCs finished, I'm going to make a thread for them and the PCs as well, that will just include basically everything you had below except for the Background slot, and Appearance will also cover any noticeable merits/flaws that the character has.

Hades

Slight delay on my part as I take care of some annoying real life stuff this week, so it may be closer to the weekend before I make the opening posts.  I do plan to have the character thread set up though by Monday to list the major NPCs and all the PCs who are approved.  So if you have a particular image/actor(ess) you want to use for your character, be aware that it is first come/first claimed in that regard.

Blush of Health, Elysium Regular, Unbondable

History While Alive
Joanna grew up during the sexual revolution of the 1960s, where free love reigned and many of the world's social mores proved themselves not only unnecessary but inherently problematic.  Although she never accepted all of the rules of the time period - it seemed silly not to trust someone just based on age - it encouraged her to question everything she was taught.

Growing up in a strict family in the suburbs, though, didn't lend itself well to exploration.  Joanna was treated as a princess but expected to live like one, even to the point where her parents had picked out the boy she was expected to marry.

Even looking back, she can't help but feel surprised that they were shocked when she ran away.  Then again, obviously they didn't care enough to actually find her, however much they might have looked.

When she was found, it wasn't by her family but by a kindly young man who encouraged her to use her brain.  It wasn't until the proof of Vampirism, though, that she truly understood that the Judeochristian deity could not exist.  The entire story of cursing a murderer to keep on murdering, heedless of what it did to others, was nothing but ludicrous.  Further, the existence of diablerie - completely consuming a soul - fell utterly contrary to the process of judgment.

Current Background Info

Joanna runs the Cat's Eye, a strip club a block and a half from the bus route.  Its logo is a Japanese catgirl, naked but reasonably covered between her pole, hair and tail.  She winks towards the viewer with a vertical slit for a pupil, not unlike a cat's eye, or a snake's.

Rather well-known is her philosophy that if a Kindred's existence is forever, it may as well be enjoyed.  She shows up to practically every Elysium, and long ago joined up with the Camarilla as far more fun (and less scary) than the Sabbat (and far more interesting than neither).

The strip club allows her a great deal of leeway with the kine.  All kinds of people show up, and a few end up in positions where they can do favors for her over time.  Kindred are welcome to work there in a place where odd hours isn't any sort of an issue.  Joanna also has two ghouls on employ, a bouncer and a dancer.

The only big rule she requests of people is that if something does happen like a frenzy, that she or a ghoul be informed instead of just leaving a mess.  It's common sense to her, but she's been displeased with a few issues from a couple decades ago.

She deals with the aging issues of her unlife by pretending to be her own daughter.  The change usually kicks in after she's gone into torpor for one reason or another, but more than one person has asked her that question and received the obvious answer.  When she then starts getting curious about her father, most decide to change the subject rather quickly.
It's all good, and it's all in fun.  Now get in the pit and try to love someone.

Bibliophilia

Did this game die before it began, or is Hades still having RL issues?

Hades

It's the second.  I still want to do the game, just not sure how quickly I can get through the backlog of stuff that RL issues has left me.  As soon as I get things where I feel comfortable in firing it up though, I will post the relevant links here for those interested.  :-)

Bibliophilia

Okay!  -grins.-  I just wanted to be certain.  There's no rush, at least on my end.  I'm a patient girl.

If there's room for a male char, would love to play a paranoid Malk that fervently believes the Greek pantheon is real and out to get him.

Clan Weakness: Can only feed from mortal females of child bearing age.

Prelude
Under Construction

Basic concept is a true mistress of finding investments worth a damn using a big fat trust fund, her Sire tested her in the traditional Ventrue Agoge to earn an expected level in one background aka Paragon area in her case she chose money the tool that will let her build a power base. She is a Ventrue despite her thinned vitae with the clan weakness but she developed some quirks based on vampires in books and movie. Unlike most trust fund babies she has ambition to a degree and a genius for finding investments, her first ones included a 5% share of a little business out of a garage that became Apple Computers when she was just embraced and it got better.  :P .

Now that she has the money she will work on her appropriate areas neglected so far like Politics and USE her income to buy her way to domains in the city in new areas so she expands the Ventrue influence and power without interfering with clan elders. But being thin blooded and a merchant she has to work harder at it. And she is still under her Sires control until presented to the Prince but the clan accepted her so that is the easier part.
