The Luke Cage series looks pretty straightforward. That said I am still looking forward to this!

Yeah, I'm curious how the conflict will go since they can't really do anything to him. Yeah, he's a reluctant hero like Jessica, but the only way to threaten him is by going after people he cares about or innocent bystanders.

Apparently, the Gambit movie is going to be delayed little longer. The most recent quote I saw was "It probably won't take ten years to make.". Simon Kinberg said the reason it is taking so long is the movie takes a while to find its tone and get it right. Um, was the original tone going to be Magic Mike meets Ocean's Eleven? First, the original director attached wasn't right and canned because Tatum didn't like him. Tatum wasn't going to star in it unless the deal was sweetened by making him executive producer. So, the way it sounds, they're going back to the drawing board with everything. The movie was supposed to be released next year, but doesn't look like its going to happen any time soon.

Sarah Grey has been cast as Stargirl for Legends of Tomorrow.

Well she's doesn't not look like Stargirl, if that makes sense. She's also in the Power Rangers movie and as Stargirl was a cheerleader Sarah should have the physical prerequisites.

I thought you wrote "Sasha Grey" for a second. I was like, holy crap, they cast the former pornstar who's trying to go mainstream? But I didn't know who Sarah Grey was since I haven't watched Power Rangers since before 2000. I remember seeing Star Girl on Smallville in a couple of episodes, but I don't remember who played her.

And yeah, Gambit was never going to have a smooth production but even this much trouble wasn't so easy to predict. I'm wondering if they're even going to reboot the X-Men universe at all if they want to keep going with Deadpool sequels, other spin-offs and such.

Britt Irvin/Irwin played Stargirl on Smallville. I think Sarah Grey is in the new Power Rangers movie.

I've heard rumors that Channing Tatum is very difficult to work with. And, if he doesn't like you, you get the boot which is why Alex Pettyfor didn't return for the Magic Mike sequel. I don't think they plan to reboot the X-Men franchise anytime soon. I've seen reports Patrick Stewart expressed interest in continuing to play Professor X. And, now Miles Teller has been reported as saying he wishes to do a sequel to the Fantastic Four movie.

Wow. Now I'm even more glad to have enjoyed that scene in This Is The End where Tatum plays Danny McBride's bitch.

Teller's probably just desperate for attention. Mara and Jordan are both doing better than him from what I've read.

God, if they do another FF movie...please...this time get Doctor Doom right, with a hybrid mystic/techno suit of armor...and, for the love of all that is holy, do not kill him off.

Or introduce Kang the Conqueror.  Or fit them into an eventual (in my dreams) Secret Wars series of tie-in films.  Infinity War was good, but I loved Secret Wars.

They could do it a number of ways that would work. Hell, even Trank's Cronenberg-esque vision could have worked if they all stayed on the Planet Zero for most of the rest of the movie and treated it like the Negative Zone or whatever the domain of Annihilus is, and had him as the villain, wanting to use them to let him gain access to Earth so he could conquer it too. If they wanted to make them reflect the original idea, where they start out in the 60's, they could make it so that their space experiment traps them in another dimension where time flows differently and so what takes decades on earth takes a few weeks or months for them, while Doom spends that time using the data recovered from Reed's experiment to figure out a way to slow his own aging (so he's still young enough not to be too feeble) and eventually finds a way to bring them back. I think this latter way would be the way to go if they ever brought them into the MCU.

The CW have announced yet another superhero show. Freedom Fighter : The Ray, is an animated show like Vixen and will be on CW Seed sometime in 2017. If it goes well there might be some live action version of The Ray appearing on The CW.

Update:
Apparently they are planning to do a Flash\Supergirl musical crossover in the second half of the season  ???

What???  Apparently according to reports they will be singing pre-existing tunes. All I can say is this is not what I want to be watching. Just because Grant Gustin and Melissa were on Glee does not make Flash and Supergirl Glee. The more I read the more I shake my head.

"We'll be careful how we break into song." Says Berlanti. "Some of the numbers could take place 'in the characters' heads."

Well, Arrow did a smart move. They cast Dolph Lundgren in a recurring villain role. Oh, and apparently the flashbacks will be ending. Lance Henriksen (Millennium, Alien) has been cast as JSA member Obsidian.  Two new bad guys have been added to the Flash, Dr. Alchemy and the speedster Savitar. And, Kevin Smith will direct another episode on the Flash. Please have him direct some of the Arrow episodes!!!
Grey Damon has been cast as Mirror Master. Was really hoping they would have cast Alexis Denishof since he provided the voice in the Justice League series and Justice League: Doom.

Berlanti has said that he is hoping to write at least one original song per episode. The way it was reported didn't make it entirely clear Berlanti would be writing the songs himself or if that would be left to others.

I'm trying to think of a show where a musical episode worked (not counting Glee, because the entire show was one long musical) and aside from Buffy, I can't think of one. And the Buffy worked because - Joss Whedon, however Berlanti is no Joss Whedon.

Buffy worked because they sang original songs, and each song fit their characters and scenes. From what is being reported, the casts expressed interest in having Music Meister as the villain. The Angel series had songs, but it was so that Loren could read the person who sang in his club.

Movie news: It appears they have settled on a villain for the Aquaman movie. Black Manta is confirmed.

No casting revealed for Black Manta yet, though? At least it's not his brother Orm, the Ocean Master. That would be a little too reminiscent of the whole Thor and Loki thing.

There's always someone looking for a quick buck or free publicity. A rap group is now claiming that the movie stole "their" look for Joker & Harley, strange how the group only make the claim after the movie has opened because none of the trailers, publicity stills etc. had any images of Joker & Harley in them...... oh, wait a second.

Reminds me of when Lindsay Lohan tried to sue Rockstar over GTA V a few years back. The things people will do for 15 minutes of fame these days is sad.

I think there was also something like that with Harry Potter. It wasn't til they announced the first movie was getting released that some author said it was stealing from the name of a character of theirs, "Larry" Potter. LOL. But then, there is the very real conflict between Marvel and DC where the DC character Captain Marvel now has to go by Shazam in some cases due to Marvel's claim on the name for their own characters with that name.

Apparently, there is a letter circulating the websites from a former Warner Bros. employee under an anonymous name.  The letter also cites Zach Synder for poor directing, etc and that pretty much everyone else around him gets the blame. The letter also states, that the Wonder Woman movie is also a hot mess, despite the awesome trailer they put out for the movie. And, with things going the way they are, already over a thousand jobs have been lost in little more then two years.

I'm hearing rumors that Aquaman is such a "metal" god in the movie. The fact they cast Amber Heard as Mera makes me scratch my head wondering why?

I wouldn't call the WW trailer 'amazing' per se but given the reviews for Suicide Squad it doesn't surprise me that the next one in line is also faring similarly in its production. I'm not sure what 'metal' in this context means in regards to Aquaman, does the rumor have a clear context? Unless they mean he's hardcore as in his theme would be heavy metal music (since that seemed to be the riff when he was standing up against that wave in the Justice League teaser), otherwise I can't quite grasp what it's trying to convey.

I read it as his aesthetic is similar to that associated with heavy metal/metal bands - tough, long scraggly hair and torn clothes, nebulously 'badass' in an undefined way. I.e,, "man, that is so metal!"

That was what I was leaning towards, but then I started to wonder if he was going to be heavily armed with armor and weapons like his trident, maybe even that impressive Atlantean military technology we see in the Justice League series. It felt like he was the only one the music really fit in the JL teaser trailer.

It's from someone claiming to be an ex-WB employee, but I'd healthy pinch of salt with that claim. They don't provide any kind of proof that they ever worked for WB's, but maybe they did, maybe they worked as security on the front gate. So the choice is between 'never an employee' or a 'disgruntled ex-employee' neither of these sources seem credible.
Patty Jenkins, the Wonder Woman director, has already turned round and called BS on whole saying they (WB's) are in the process of debunking the letter. Although to be fair, she's always going to defend her own film.
As for those thousand jobs, they were cuts made over two years ago, cuts that didn't effect the nameless author of letter. What they were saying was that anoymous author was saying was that the if anymore jobs went at WB then it would be the fault of the likes of Peter Jackson, Zack Snyder and the studio head.

Anyway, to lighten the tone http://www.cubefold-craft.com/dc-series make your very own Suicide Squad from paper.

I don't know what it is about the phrasing she's using, but something just seems a tad off to me about Jenkins' response:

Quote“This is some made up bs right here,” Jenkins tweeted. “Produce a source, anyone.”

Jenkins went on to write “You can’t because it’s entirely false. Don’t believe the hype people. Someone’s trying to spread some serious misinfo.”

I don't know if the studio authorized her to respond without consulting them or what, but I can imagine some damage control measures will be implemented at some point. Maybe if others working on the film could pipe up reassuringly without sounding like they can't come up with anything more...clever? Maybe Chris Pine's endorsement would be more reassuring, what with his Star Trek clout. If Jenkins had laughed it off and tried to attack this person's credibility (easily done by pointing out how many butt-hurt haters there are out there who would pull a stunt like that; come to think, I'm surprised more stuff like this didn't happen prior to Suicide Squad coming out) it might seem more believable from her end. Saying it's "entirely false" might be what rubbed me the wrong way since of the ones on the slate, 3 out of the 5 released so far (or being released within a year) haven't been warmly received for many of the same reasons. If she could say what they're doing different to avoid going down that same road, that might be more reassuring. Let's see if the studio can sell us the belief that it's going to be the improvement they desperately need.

I can't imagine she wasn't authorized to comment. Lawyers, yo. And those same lawyers are going to limit what she can say publicly.

Personally, I'm leaning on 'fake' as well, because it doesn't actually contain anything verifiable. It's just hearsay and populism, playing on all the strong themes trending right now in Internet fan-culture (Zach Snyder sucks, DC movies are terrible and continue to be so, etc.). If it contained some actual facts about the WW movie besides it being a 'hot mess', I'd take it a bit less skeptically, but right now it's clearly written to appeal to everyone who already thinks DC is terrible and wants supporting evidence for their opinions.

Mathim

Well, like I said, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it were true but then also how has more of this rhetoric not come out sooner for the same reasons? Either way I think they could have done a better job, showing some confidence rather than defensiveness. Laugh it off, mock it and encourage others to do the same, instead of just saying, "Um...no, it's not true."
