Martin Seligman has done a lot of research on Positive Psychology and I think that he makes wonderful points.  I've read three of his books, Learned Optimism (which I think everyone should read, especially if they've experienced depression), Authentic Happiness, and The Optimistic Child.  I encourage anyone who's experienced/experiencing depression to pick up at least the first one.  The ability to overcome depression lies in our own hands 99% of the time, but we have to take the bull by the horns and make the effort. :)

Interesting read. I'll send this to my friends who are more often than not depressed about work or school. I've always been a relatively optimistic and happy person, but it's not because I haven't hit any hard times. It's the attitude that matters.
