I had a similarly themed game using an indie system for a while, but two people joined and decided not to post, so I pulled the plug here and put it on another site where it had to become Hentai University. At the time, activity was so intense on the other site I had to take a small hiatus. I had a bit of a medical emergency in the mean time and got to catch up on some BESM 3 reading. I've been tossing around the idea of doing another game set in a high school, but this one would involve attacks from tentacle monsters.

You missed the actual context of the statement, which was that even though it failed here, it became intensely successful on the other site.

Your conclusion doesn't logically follow from my premise. The sole difference in success rates of my games was player interest The specific ones that applied here didn't catch on as fully as the ones that caught on over there. That's not to say the game can't succeed, but the context of your last reply is nearly a guarantee that it won't work here.

Well then, here's the basic idea: A rich college with the main attraction being the host club. After classes, the host club opens up and the rich and beautiful spend time together for a price that they can easily afford.

Characters: Host or a student who goes to the host club. Not sure if I'll allow "Honor students." How does the following sound?

Hosts: Up to ten
Students (Non-hosts): Up to ten
Honor-students (Poor, but got in with good grades): Up to five.

Not sure if that's a good idea but I'm open to opinions.

Setting most likely outside of a city or secluded in it's own campus. Probably real people as avatar/pictures only even though the idea I got from an anime.

Well, dividing the m/f ratio is always hard to do since not everyone likes a simple straight male-female pair up and it leaves it rather dull for any exploration xD I figured people can make whatever gender/preference character and if there gets to be a huge unbalance, one would have to make a certain character.

Example being, if there are 6 straight women and 4 gay men and 2 straight men, I'd probably request that preferably they make male characters in which are straight or bi so that the women can find love interests o-o

Though if there were 6 bi women and 3 bi men, I might not request anything since they are a bit open to either, but could note that there are less males.

If you've ever watched the anime it is indeed sort of like that. However, it's more like the Host Club having Events where they fulfill women's desire for romance (in the case of the anime/manga) rather than being "rented out" like in an escort service. The non-hosts wouldn't necessarily be patrons of the club (more like regular students who interact with the club members in other instances) but would also be capable of being patrons.

I like that. I specifically will have my character fall under the lesbian category though she will "play" with the boys mentally as the club requires. I also kinda want to pull the twin aspect... but that's because my inner twincest is coming out.... (Ouran kinda instigates those kinda feelings in me >//<)

I'm going to try to talk my friend (who will likely play a gay male) into playing. :)

Plots are nice. Gives it a kind of life. :) I think a sandbox would work if there are at least Events that happen every so often.

Personally, give hints at the plot as a hook, but obviously don't give it all away. You'll want to keep us interested after all.

I usually stay up anywhere from midnight to 7AM. Really, my schedule is so wacky xD But I just got back from vacation and to be honest, it was shitty so Im quite worn out. The past few days I've been going to bed closer to midnight than anything x.x
