Name:
Codename:
Age: Characters must be at least 18 years old.
Species:
Gender:
Sexual Orientation:
Alligience: Is your character A member of the New Order (Aka Brainiac), or a rebel? Characters who want to be active in society (hold jobs, be a hero the goverment condones, etc) Will be member of the New Order. Rebels will be those who operate in society under an assumed or alter ago, or live in hiding or in the free zone. This designation is only your "public" alligience, as your character can secrelty be on either side, or both.

Appearance: Pictures (can be real people images and/or from comics), text, whatever you like. Be mindful of site rules regarding images.
Faceclaim: Please pick a real life model or comic appearance. This isn't required, but it does help everyone envision your character!

History:

Personality:

Powers: This is for super powers. Stuff like being faster than a speeding bullet, stronger than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound and so forth.

Special Qualities: For indelible qualities about your character. A Green Lantern's willpower is an example, as is Batman's singular dedication to crime-fighting, or John Constantine being an insufferable wanker.

Abilities: Cool stuff you know how to do. Can your character pick a lock hanging upside down? Goes here. Also, mundane stuff, like being fluent in multiple languages, driving a standard transmission. And things that just rare, like specialized academic or niche knowledge.

Special Equipment: Stuff like the Batman's utility belt or Wonder Woman's lasso of truth - a character can be safely assumed to own a conventional smart phone or lap top without much fuss. Also probably stuff like mega-bucks if your character is wealthy (it could also go under Powers; your call, really).

Limitations/Weaknesses:

Ons & Offs: Feel free to link your thread or make a write up for this character here.

Plot Seeds: Optional, but if there are specific story threads you'd like to write out let us know here!

Kara Danvers

Name: Kara Danvers
Codename: Supergirl
Age: 23
Species: Kryptonian
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Alligience: Heroic

Appearance: Kara is blonde with blue eyes. She possesses an athletic, toned body, standing at 5'5.

Faceclaim: Undecided.

History: Born and raised in the Kryptonian population of Argo City, Kara Zor-El was sent by her parents Zor-El and Alura In-Ze  to Earth to save her life and look after her infant cousin Kal-El. Her escape pod was damaged, and left her in suspended animation in space for nearly thirty years before she landed  and was found by her now fully grown cousin, Kal-El. She remained with Clark's Earth family and then moved to Metropolis for college upon graduation. As a teenager and immigrant, Kara has to learn to fit in a completely different culture while coping with the loss of her world and trying to become a hero.

Personality: Kara was an insecure, fierce, impulsive, compassionate and sometimes immature teenager. As a young adult she is bright, bubbly, and a little awkward. She remains naive about many aspects of human culture, mainly sexuality and dating. What truly defines Kara is her empathy. She always tries to see the good in people, and she would rather reach out with words than with her fists.

Powers:
⦿Kryptonian Physiology: Under the effects of a "yellow" sun, Kara possesses the same potential powers as an average Kryptonian. These include:

⦿Solar Energy Absorption: Under optimal conditions, this is the main source of Kara's super powers as they are contingent upon exposure to solar radiation from a yellow sun star system. Her biological make up includes a number of organs which lack analogues in humans and whose functions are unknown. It is believed that between one or more of these and her bio-cellular matrix, "yellow" solar energy is stored for later use. This allows for the use of these powers to fade when yellow solar radiation is not available, instead of immediate failure.

⦿Heat Vision: Kara can, as a conscious act, fire beams of intense heat at a target by looking at it. She can vary the heat and area affected.

⦿Super-Hearing: Kara's hearing is sensitive enough to hear any sound at any volume or pitch. With skill and concentration, she can block out ambient sounds to focus on a specific source or frequency.

⦿Enhanced Vision: Kara's vision processes the entire electromagnetic spectrum as well as allowing vast control over selective perception and focus.

This umbrella ability includes the following:

•Electromagnetic Spectrum Vision:Kara can see well into most of the electromagnetic spectrum. She can see and identify radio and television signals, as well as all other broadcast or transmitted frequencies. Using this ability, she can avoid detection by radar or satellite monitoring methods. This also allows her to see the aura generated by a living thing.

•Telescopic Vision: This is the ability to see something at a great distance, without violating the laws of physics. Though limited, the exact extent of the ability is undetermined. In function, it is similar to the zoom lens on a camera.

•X-Ray Vision: This is the ability to see through any volume of matter except lead. Karas can see things behind a solid, opaque object as if it were not there. She can focus this ability to "peel back" layers of an object, allowing hidden image or inner workings to be observed. The exact type of energy perceived—such as x-rays, cosmic rays, or some other energy invisible to normal humans—is unclear. This ability perceives an ambient energy source though, it does not involve the eye projecting a concentrated, possibly toxic, beam to be reflected from objects.

•Microscopic Vision: This is the ability to see extremely small objects and images down to the atomic level.

•Infrared Vision: Kara can see with better acuity in darkness, and to a degree in total darkness.

⦿Flight: Kara is able to manipulate gravity particles to defy the forces of gravity and achieve flight. This ranges from hovering to moving in any posture, in any direction.

⦿Invulnerability:Due to the interaction of her dense molecular structure and supercharged bio-electric aura, Kara is nigh-invulnerable to extreme energy forces. In addition, her extends this protection against toxins and diseases.

⦿Enhanced Immunity

⦿Superhuman Stamina: Kara is able to maintain continuous strenuous physical action for an indefinite period of time. This based on her body converting yellow solar radiation directly to energy, but is limited by physiological and psychological needs to eat, drink, and sleep.

⦿Superhuman Strength: Kara's strength is augmented by yellow solar radiation interacting with the greater than human density, resilience and biological efficiency of her musculature. Her strength is more an act of conscious will on energy fields than actual physical strength. It is this act of conscious will that enables her to perform physical feats that are beyond the mere application force, such as moving a mountain top without said rock crumbling under its own mass.

⦿Superhuman Speed: Kara is able to move at incredible speed by sheer force of will. This extends to her perceptions and allows for feats such as catching bullets in mid flight as well as covering vast distances in little or no time.

This also confers:

        •Superhuman Agility

        •Superhuman Reflexes

⦿Super-Breath: Kara is able to create hurricane force winds by exhaling air from her lungs. She can chill the air as it leaves her lungs to freeze targets. She can also reverse the process to pull large volumes of air or vapor into her lungs.

⦿Longevity: Kara can live longer than regular humans, remaining at her prime as long as she was under the exposure of the "yellow" sun.

⦿Energy Projection: Supergirl can project the solar energy she has absorbed. The energy projection is strong enough to free her from the Lasso of Truth.

⦿Force Field: Supergirl can use the absorbed solar energy to cover her body in a glowing light. The force field has a protective nature. For example, it can prevent her from getting wet and allows her to breathe underwater. However, the extent of its effects is unknown.

⦿Sound Manipulation:Supergirl is able to alter her voice in order to affect her surroundings.

Special Qualities:

⦿Genius Level Intellect

⦿Indomitable Will: Kara possesses an incredibly powerful will.

Abilities:

⦿Hand-to-Hand Combat (Advanced): Kara was taught how to fight on Krypton as part of her trials, and in Crucible Academy.

⦿Martial Arts: Kara is adept in several Kryptonian fighting styles like Klurkor and Torquasm Rao.

⦿Swordsmanship

⦿Chi Manipulation: Supergirl learned the art of Bagua under the instruction of I-Ching.

⦿Multilingualism: Kara can speak fluent English and Kryptonian. She has been studying all Earth's languages, but she thinks she is bad at most of them.

Special Equipment: N/A

Limitations/Weaknesses:

⦿Kryptonian Physiology: Under the effects of a "yellow" sun, Kara possesses the same potential weaknesses as an average Kryptonian. These include:

⦿Vulnerability to Kryptonite

⦿Vulnerability to Magic: Often misunderstood. Kara is not actually "weak" to magic, but possesses no special defenses against it. Therefore, she, like all other Kryptonite are just as susceptible as any normal human is to magic.

⦿Vulnerability to Sensory Overload: Supergirl's over-sensitive senses can be overpowered.

⦿Solar Energy Dependency

Ons & Offs: O/Os

#5
Name: Floyd Lawton
Codename: Deadshot
Age: old enough to have a teenage daughter
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Allegiance: New Order (Publically, nominally for money and resources), Rebels (hidden true agenda)

Appearance: One of the iterations of his suit
Faceclaim: Courtesy of Stejpan  Sejic

History:

Floyd Lawton grew up as a member of the idle rich. His father George Lawton made money in real estate, and his mother Genevieve Pitt belonged to a family of wealthy bankers. His brother Edward Lawton was a golden child, described as the opposite of Floyd. Both parents doted on Edward while treating Floyd poorly, but Floyd still grew up idolizing his older brother. George was unfaithful and cruel to Genevieve, so she asked her sons to kill their father. Eddie locked Floyd in the boathouse when Floyd tried to warn his father. Floyd broke out and grabbed his hunting rifle. Eddie had already shot their father in the second-floor library, paralyzing George for life, and was preparing to kill him. Floyd climbed a tree and aimed to disarm his brother, but a branch snapped and he shot Eddie between the eyes. He killed the brother he loved to save the father he hated. This incident was covered up to avoid dishonoring the family name. George denied Genevieve a divorce and forced her to live alone on a small stipend.

Some time after that, Lawton sought the training of the professional assassin David Cain, who instructed Lawton and taught him his marksmanship abilities.

In the midst of years of back-and-forths between freedom, prison and basically government-based indentured servitude, Floyd found time and opportunity to father a daughter. Due to the nature of his work, his relationship with her is estranged. By all available accounts, they have a good relationship but Floyd had found it necessary to distance himself from her to protect her while supporting her both monetarily and emotionally as best he could. Government spooks under Amanda Waller do help him keep an eye on her of course but that was because she was important as leverage to access his services.

In his free time, he picks on organized crime to both sharpen his skills and to give back to the community. In particular, he prefers to take on the Cartels and the Mafiya. He found them entirely to be the kind of people he despises for different reasons.

As an independent assassin and gun-for-hire on some of the topmost steps of the ladder that aren't occupied by Ra's Al Ghul's League of Assassins, it's no surprise that his services are sought after by some powerful people. Lex Luthor being a relatively regular patron of his services in the past before Brainiac's arrival on Earth means that he has access to some high tech toys that he is involved with the design process of.

Personality:

A man of relatively flexible morals but strong underlying convictions to his personal rules, Floyd is surprisingly nice and gentle to people around him and absolute strangers when he's “off the clock” despite his reputation. Politeness is something that is an extension of his professionalism “on the clock” and he considers that to be something he could always afford. For those who draw his ire however, he does not extend that courtesy beyond making it as quick as possible unless otherwise contracted or sufficiently enraged.

Powers:

Marksmanship - uncanny accuracy that’s said to be flawless and is functionally so unless acted-upon mid-flight.

Throwing - Extension of marksmanship

Peak human condition - senses and eyesight are about as good as an unenhanced human could get, physically-speaking he is also as fit as they come

Special Qualities:

Experienced Tactical Analyst

Interrogation

Negotiator

Intimidation

Demolitionist

Advanced Hand-to-Hand Combat

Abilities:

Multilingual (speaks Russian and other commonly used Slavic languages as well as Spanish)

Disguise (includes accent imitation)

Breaking-and-entering (includes lockpicking and other relevant skills)

Investigative skill
Special Equipment:

Personal Arsenal

LexCorp endowment (includes discretionary funds and equipment)

Limitations/Weaknesses:

Lactose Intolerance: very mild, is normally an inconvenience at worst

Human-level durability

Ons & Offs: O/Os

Plot Seeds:

Luthor still has his contact details and knows of Cadmus and Task Force X.

The new world under Brainiac doesn't sit right with him, what can he do?

Pops in and drops off Jen Pierce

Name: Jennifer Pierce
Codename: Lightning
Age: 20
Species: Metahuman
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual
Alligience: New Order Member

Appearance: Jennifer is 5'5" and 114 pounds of cocoa skin, wicked smirks, and curls. She dresses with an eye toward comfort and rarely bothers with trying to make herself look like anything other than what she is-- a metahuman with a grudge.
Faceclaim: China Anne McClain

extra photos

History: Jennifer Pierce is the youngest daughter of Jefferson Pierce (Black Lightning) and sister to Anissa Pierce (Thunder). When the world went to Hell, both her father and sister chose to slip into the shadows to help people struggling against the New World Order. Jennifer decided that she wouldn't do any such thing and fought her father to a standstill before turning her back on her family and offering herself up to the new government to better her prospects. For her, there is no history that matters. Whatever happened before she took her step onto the world's stage means nothing, and if her family wants to live on thoughts of their past glories? Well, she can't help that they are dumb enough to try.

Personality: Ambitious | Confident | Demanding | Focused | Passionate | Sarcastic | Secretive

Jennifer is a woman driven by her past and the pain of loss. There is nothing she won't do to accomplish her goals and no one she won't use if it makes things easier for herself. She trusts no one because she feels the world is no longer trustworthy, and she regularly refers to the Rebels as stupid because they are still living in a past that no longer exists.

Powers:

  • Accelerated Healing Factor: Jennifer's cells generate bio-electricity, which allows her to heal from injuries much faster and more efficiently than a normal person.
  • Electrical Absorption: Jen can absorb electricity from nearby electronics such as phones and light bulbs. Additionally, she can also absorb the electromagnetic energy that surrounds the Earth. Absorbing this electrical energy from any source makes Jen more powerful and gives her more fuel to fight.
  • Electrical Discharge:  She can project the electrical energy she has absorbed and stored as powerful electricity blasts.
  • Electrical Sight: Jennifer is able to see the electricity in all technological objects. Jennifer can also use this ability to see the electrical nervous system in one's body.
  • Electrical Technopathy: Jennifer can use her powers to control the technology around her. Basically, she can hack anything with an electrical source.
  • Electrokinetic Constructs: Jennifer has the ability to shape electricity into any shape she desires.
  • Electro-telekinesis: Using her electricity, she can manipulate the matter of objects with electricity or electromagnetism.
  • Electrical Transformation: Using her ability to generate an electrical field has the added effect of turning her into a being of sentient lightning
  • Flight: Jennifer can fly by charging her lower body with energy and can (theoretically) fly at the speed of light.
  • Metahuman Physiology: THis is HOW the above stuff happened.

Special Qualities:

  • Never Gives Up: You say the odds are stacked against her? So what! She will get through it.
  • Peak Human Conditioning: Jennifer possesses impressive athletic skills. Even without using her powers, she is on the same level as an Olympic Athlete when it comes to her agility, flexibility, dexterity, accuracy, strength, and endurance.

Abilities:

  • Intellectual: She has always loved to learn and it shows. Her thought processes are speedy, her memory prodigious, and the collection of knowledge for its own sake is something she enjoys.
  • Expert Marksmanship: If she aims? She will hit.
  • Stealthy AF: She doesn't always light up the world like a solar flare. Sometimes, just the ability to see others before they see her is a blessing.
  • Expert Hand-to-hand combatant: Her dad trained with her, and now she's more powerful than him. Come test her if you want to.
  • Lip Reading: Her big sister taught her how to do that forever ago. No, your secrets are NOT safe.

Special Equipment: Jen has her Lightning Suit which works in two different ways:

  • Identity concealment: The main purpose of the suit is to conceal Jennifer's identity from those that may recognize her.
  • Intense temperature and abrasion resistance: Since Jennifer can generate high levels of electricity and energy, the suit is designed to be extremely heat resistant to make sure it never catches fire.
Limitations/Weaknesses:

  • Power instability: Jennifer's main and biggest weakness is that her powers are unstable due to her being a natural generator of electricity. Jennifer's emotions fuel her power; if she can't keep them under control, she could risk going "nuclear" and exploding. They also start to hurt her if she does not periodically exercise excess energy.
  • Antimatter: Because Jennifer's cells generate pure energy, she is more susceptible to the effects of antimatter.

Ons & Offs: Check here for the basics.

Plot Seeds: Jen discovers her sister and father are plotting against her; what does she do?
Just how evil is she? Wouldn't you like to know?

Dingo

Name: Alexander Joseph 'Lex' Luthor
Codename: Lex Luthor
Age: 45
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Pan-Sexual
Allegiance: New Order

Appearance: Always dressed to impress. Lex is a physically fit human, of 6'2".
Faceclaim: John Shea

History: The embodiment of the American Dream. Grew up in a small town to parents of modest means. Worked multiple jobs all through high school to help make ends meet. Orphaned at eighteen, losing both his parents in a car accident and barely surviving himself. Used the modest life insurance and what was left of their parents estate to pay for his way through college where he dropped out to become a tech billionaire by the age of twenty two. Turned his company into the biggest employer in all of the world, at the forefront of innovation. And you can read all about it in his official biography for sale for only $2,99. #2 on the Daily Planet Best Seller List.

When Braniac attacked the USA it was Lex Luthor's tech that delayed the alien from taking over the entire US arsenal and eradicate all mankind with their own weaponry. After the capitulation, it was LexCorp that spearheaded the cleaning up and reconstruction of New York City. It was Lex Luthor who struck a deal with the alien overlord and in return for materials provided to Brainiac had LexCorp build the first clean energy reactor, providing the inhabitants of Metropolis with free electric energy and construction has started in many other places.

At the same time the political unrest took over all of the nation, with the Justice League gone, crime was rampant, and apparently random, both within the country and in the greater world. The president resigned, on clear grounds that he felt that the USA should have fought back against the alien consequences be damned. And was replaced by his highly impopular vice-president who lost full control of the situation, with politicians left and right resigning, dying of stress related incidents or outright switching their tune.

In the next elections, right before the deadline was announced, Lex Luthor announced his candidacy on his own platform and considering the things he was doing all over the nation already, he was elected president, taking charge before he was technically even sworn in.

Within days, the crime numbers dropped, the political unrest calmed, and the USA could finally deal with a cooler head with the alien oppressor as well as the new geopolitical situation.

Personality: Lex is brilliant, ruthless and arrogant. He will go to any length to reach his goals, whatever they are.

Powers: Lex has no powers. He is just a human. Just a man.

Special Qualities:

  • Wealth: The best super-power.
  • Genius Level Intellect: Only a few beings in the universe come close.
  • Eidetic Memory
  • Criminal Mastermind
  • Expert Strategist, tactician and planner
  • Proficient engineer and scientist with exceptional technological prowess

Abilities: All powers granted to the President of the USA. Political connections. Business connections. Criminal connections.

Special Equipment: Anything or nothing that money can buy. Which is a lot.

Limitations/Weaknesses: Whatever anyone may think of him. Lex Luthor comes first, Earth comes second, then everything else.

Ons & Offs: (none for the player) Lex Luthor loves his power. Sincere groveling, flexing on others that have power, breaking down those that have power or just humiliation of those with power are his big turn ons. Being on the receiving end definitely is a turn-off, but may inspire him to greatness.

Plot Seeds: He's playing a long game and is willing to recruit other heroes and villains to his side.

Some people had asked, so I wanted to make sure I mentioned this. The posting rate for this game is "One post per week, per character.". That is the minimum goal we expect for players when they join to keep the narrative going. Of course, we understand RL and how things can happen and we won't hold that against anyone. I hope this clarifies things!

Alleron

Name: Henry Clover
Codename: Blue Lantern
Age: 25
Species: Hunan
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Alligience: Heroic

Appearance: Henry (Hank to his friends), is a muscular, athletic man in his mid 20’s with piercing brown eyes, and short, wavy dark hair.  He tends to carry himself with a broad posture, radiating an aura of determination.

Faceclaim: Cheyenne Jackson

History: Hank and his twin sister Claire were residents of Gotham City.  One day, while the family was out for the day running some errands, an armed mugger approached Hank’s family, demanding their money and jewelry if they wanted to get home safely. Only 10 at the time, Hank was absolutely paralyzed with fear.  Fortunately, Batman arrived in time to save the day and leave Hank’s family safe. That day, he found himself dreaming of becoming a hero, just like Batman.

He trained for years, learning to fight, getting in shape, and even designing what would be his future costume.  And then Brainiac attacked. Hank was across the city from Claire and their parents when the assault started, and there was absolutely no chance of reaching them. Instead, he rallied a few survivors together, fighting off opponents until he could get them to the safety that he hoped would be there.  He put himself out as a symbol to the terrified Gothamites hiding from the assault. And as he was fighting one of Brainiac’s robots, he declared that the people of Gotham would always keep fighting, because they always had hope for heroes to step up and lead them. In that moment, a streak of blue light flew from the sky, turning into a ring that slid onto his finger, marking him as a member of the Blue Lantern Corps.

Since then he’s managed to be a constant thorn in the overseers sides, constantly leading raids, stealing supplies, and keeping the morale of free and enslaved citizens alike up.

Personality: Hank is an idealist and optimist.  While he can accept that he can’t always win, he very much tries to be an example for others. While he doesn’t care about accolades for himself, he knows how vital hope is during your darkest hour. And his own hope is fueled by his hope of reuniting with his family.

Powers:

Ordinarily, Hank has no abilities beyond those of any normal human.  But when using his Blue Lantern Ring, he gains the following abilities:

Energy Blasts**: The ring can be used to fire blasts of blue energy or create weapons such as projectiles of them. The ring can project beams of force powered by the will of the user. The weapon's power is more an indication of the hope of the user.

Force-Field Generation**: The ring can create various force fields of various sizes and shapes to protect the wearer and others around him. With the cosmic scope of a Blue Lantern's abilities, it is only natural that the power ring is designed for operation in space. The ring creates a force-field around the wearer, protecting him/her/it from the hazards of the void including filtration of stellar radiation and microscopic particulate matter which would ordinarily be fatal should the space debris strike the ring wielder at high speeds. An atmosphere appropriate to the ring wielder's biology is created inside the force-field, body temperature is maintained and waste products are removed. Gravitational stresses which could cause injury are stabilized for the ring wielder. Theoretically, a ring wielder could use the ring as his/her/its sole source of life support.

Energy Constructs: The ring can form constructs of blue energy. Unlike a Green Lantern Power Ring, the primary function of the Blue Power Ring will manifest its constructs in response to the target's specific psychosis, with a soothing effect based on that target's hopes. In this way, the ring can remove the corruptible influence of the red flame of rage by infusing hope. Otherwise, the ring is a weapon capable of transforming the wearer's thoughts into physical constructs through the wearer's mastery of hope. A Blue Lantern can create any particular item or construct that they can imagine as long as they have the mastery of hope necessary to will it into existence. The constructs are made out of blue energy, which is a tangible form of pure hope, and they exist only as long as a Blue Lantern is fueling it with their hopefulness. Items created by the rings are not indestructible and are only as powerful as the inspired hope of the Blue Lantern creating them. The types of constructs usually reflect the ring wearer's personality.

Hope Empowerment: The Blue Lantern ring is unique in that its base of power, Hope, can be drawn from for strength by the ring user. Being in direct range of the emotional aura of a Blue Lantern allows them to charge an outer power reserve; by the sheer hope of the Lantern, its power will remain constant.[3] The empowerment extends to even the stellar reactions of stars, allowing one to reverse the age of a dying star to that of a relatively newborn star. Solely empowered by the hope of the population that relied on it, in turn empowering the Blue Lantern who then collects and uses it for the purpose of transformation. The ability bypasses the need for ring energy expenditure. [4]

Ring Enhancement: The primary function of any Blue Lantern Ring is the capacity to re-energize and supercharge the powers of a Green Lantern ring, for just as a green ring enables a blue ring to use its fullest functions a blue ring can augment the powers of a green one. Prolonged charging of which has the dangerous effect of overloading said ring, however, causing it to implode taking off the light wielders hand in the process.[4] A well-kept secret among the Blue Lantern Corps is that the light of hope can empower the rings/energies of another emotional spectrum besides will, the wielder of a blue ring must willingly enable this capacity first.[5]

Fear Depletion: As fear is the belief of imminent demise, hope is the belief of imminent success. As such, Blue Lantern Rings are capable of depleting the energy of Qwardian Power Rings.[6]
Avarice Immunity: A blue ring is not vulnerable to the Orange Lantern Corps' favored tactic of draining energy from other Corps' rings. The reason of this is that while Avarice erodes Will, it can't consume Hope, thus rendering Avarice useless against Hope.

Rage Removal: If a subject has been infected with the red light of rage, a Blue Power Ring can create a vision of the subject's greatest hope to calm and heal them. The process of the removal is part spiritual and part medical: the infected goes through a cellular cleansing, with the Blue energy serving as an antitoxin to purge red plasma from the body. With a spiritual connection active, the subject's mind is alleviated and blood production is restarted. The end result is the subject being safely released from his or her ring.

Flight**: By the manipulation of anti-gravitons and directed molecular movement, the ring allows the user to fly at incredible speeds. The power ring grants its wearer access to wormholes in space, enabling the ring wielder to rapidly cut time and distance needed for transport. Black holes can be navigated by experienced ring wielders.

Wormholes & Spacial Warps**: The power ring grants its wearer access to wormholes in space, enabling the ring wielder to rapidly cut time and distance needed for transport. Black holes can be navigated by experienced ring wielders.

Total Cellular Regeneration**: Another unique ability this ring has, is the capability to heal the worst of physical injuries.  Via the Light of Hope, Blue Lanterns can use the ring to repair bodily damages within themselves or others even mending severe wounds either recent or settled.

Electromagnetic Scanning: The ring has a wide range of detection abilities based on the imagination of the user. If one can conceive of it, they can detect it. Magical effects like clairvoyance, seem to be the most difficult for the ring. All electromagnetic phenomena are within the range of the ring, including radio, television, infrared, ultraviolet, and high-frequency band communications.

Galactic Encyclopedia: The earlier rings worn by the Corps functioned as references for their users. Having the vast knowledge of the known universe to draw upon, each ring functioned as a ready reference on most peoples, stellar events and conditions that may have been seen by other rings or other Blue Lanterns. The rings also served as a repository of adventures had by the Blue Lantern and these mission reports were stored in the Prime Battery for review and training.
Universal Translator: Keeping in mind the myriad of worlds, life forms, and cultures throughout the cosmos, it is understandable why Guardians of Hope added a translation system to the power ring.

Material Alteration: The Blue Lantern's uniform is not made out of fabric. It is created by the Power Ring whenever the wearer wills to wear it. It automatically appears over the wearer's normal clothing, and vanishes when the wearer wills to return to their civilian attire. Most Blue Lantern wear similar uniforms that are programmed into the ring by default. However, each Blue Lantern is able to adjust their uniform to fit their own needs, personalities, and whims.

Precognition: Upon receiving the ring, Blue Lanterns will experience a moment of the future by the Blue Light, directly related to the wielder and with the express purpose of lifting their hopes.

**some Blue Lantern abilities work at a reduced capacity without the presence of a Green Lantern.

Special Qualities:

⦿Indomitable Optimism: Hank’s ring was drawn to hun by his unshakeable belief that things can be better.

Abilities:

⦿Martial Arts: Kara is adept in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Krav Maga.

⦿Armed combat: Hank is trained in Escrima, and can fight with batons and knives.

⦿Parkour: Hank is trained in the French art of freestyle movement.

Special Equipment: Blue Lantern Ring

Limitations/Weaknesses:

Willpower Symbiosis:  Without the overwhelming will of a Green Lantern ring to actualize Hope, a Blue Lantern’s ring works at a lowered capacity.

Emotional Dependence:  Regardless of the presence of other Lanterns, a Blue Lanterns abilities can fluctuate based on the strength of their sense of Hope; a Blue Lantern in despair is close to powerless.

Ons & Offs: O/Os

Plot Seeds:

What happened to Hank’s family?  Will they ever be reunited?
Will he be able to join up with others to help overthrow Brainiac and his minions?
Hank’s always been stubborn, and part of him is wondering if he could attract a Green Lantern ring too?
Is there still a way to live a real life while freedom-fighting?

Allegiance: New Order (Publicly)

Appearance:
Faceclaim:

History: Growing up, in a privileged, educated family, she wanted for little and attended the best schools available, despite the poverty around her. She was determined to make the world a better place and chose science as her tool to improve life for those who, unlike her, suffered in poverty and strife. Once she was working, she used available resources to develop her own specialized armour design and used it to fight crime and protect the underprivileged, but then the world changed and she was forced to make a choice to work from within the system or to rebel against it. She chose to work within, and she now works for Lex-Corp as a scientist, hoping she might keep her other costumed activities off their radar when she does don the costume and work to make the world a better place in a more active role.

Personality: Bright and quick thinking, she is quick to defend those in a position of weakness, even if it puts herself at risk. Despite the horrors that the country has been through the the destruction of NYC, she still believes that there can be a better future. She spends her work time in the lab on experimental work rather than research and documentation, and as a result, her lack of publishing means she has not advanced as far as others less intelligent than her.

Powers: None, all abilities are based on her armour.

Special Qualities: She will always see the best in people and situations, despite the dark clouds overhead.

Abilities:

  • Genius Level intellect
  • Ph.D. level physicist in material sciences, focusing on experimental and not theoretical work.

  • 'Honey' stream (custom designed adhesive fluid)
  • The suit maintains a charge of 2 hours flight-only when not actively charging, weapon use rapidly reduces that charge level.
Limitations/Weaknesses: Due to the suit being primarily solar powered, she is limited in the duration of night activities and if forced indoors for long periods of time. She is otherwise a normal human and subject to all normal weaknesses.

Ons & Offs: Ons and Offs

Plot Seeds: Desperate to try and keep her illicit activities a secret and maintain her job, she believes that working both within and outside the system is the only true path to freedom from oppression.

Malara

I'm putting a claim in on Ravager (Rose Edition, none of that Grant nonsense!)

Malara

Name: Rose Wilson
Codename: Ravager
Age: 23
Species: Human
Gender: CIS Woman
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Alligience: Rebel

Appearance:

Faceclaim: Chloe Zhang

History: Rose is the daughter of international mercenary and assassin Slade Wilson, a.k.a. Deathstroke.  Raised from a young age to be his successor, at the cost of her mother's life, she had always rebelled against her father, even as she absorbed his teaching with an unbridled skill and passion.  Once she felt she'd learned everything worthwhile Slade could teach her, she left him with a knife in the back as her way of saying goodbye.  When Brainiac attacked, she was initially offered a spot among the heroes ruling his little Quisling em[ire, but she wasn't about to bow down to the planet's conqueror.

Personality: While Ravager is very much the snarky, cynical bitch she presents herself as, she uses it as a front to covered up a surprisingly delicate, sensitive side that she shields to keep from being hurt.  She also has a rigid code of honor, and once she gives her word, it's stronger than a Kryptonian in a yellow sun emporium.

Powers:

  • Superhuman Body: Rose inherited her father's meta gene, giving her superhuman strength, speed, agility, stamina, and reflexes.  While she cannot match the upper levels of superhuman ability, she can and does outlast humans at absolute peak physical condition.
  • Precognition: Rose's ability is not technically actual visions of the future.  She can read vast amounts of probablyity at the speed of thought to know the most likely outcome at any moment and act accordingly

Special Qualities:

Genius-level intellect: thanks to her metahuman brain and her father's training, Rose is well-versed in a vast array of knowledge across multiple spectrums.

Iron Will: Rose also inherited her father's stubborn determination.  While she'll back out of a fight to cut her losses, she will never let her emotions drive the decision.

Abilities:

Martial Arts Mastery: Thanks to her training with Deathstroke, Ravager is among the top martial artists on Earth, with mastery of several disciplines.

Armed Combat Mastery: Though Rose specializes in swords and other blades, she is fully capable of expertly handling any known weapon, inclusing firearms and melee weapons.

Acrobatics: Rose is an Olympic-caliber athlete thanks to her meta-gene, including the ability to jump, flip, dodge, and contort herself with ease.

Tactics: As a result of her prescience and knowledge of military strategies, Rose is an expert at a wide variety

Special Equipment:

Ikon Suit: Taken from her father and tailored to fit, Rose's Ikon suit uses gravitational fields to help displace blows, robbing them of their power.

Inertron Sword: Rose's sword was forged especially to counteract gravitic protections like hers and her father's Ikon suits.

Assorted guns, knives, swords, and other weapons

Limitations/Weaknesses:

Not invincible: Despite being far superior to a non-meta, upper-level metaheroes and villains can overpower, injure, or even kill Rose, given the opportunity.

Probablilities: Rose's precognition merely reads probabilities.  She reacts to the most likely outcome of any given event.  Less likely results are a blind spot.

Moral Code: Rose is an honest mercenary.  When she gives her word, she will not break it.

Ons & Offs:

Did I really not ever do an o/o page?!  Let me get back to you there, but nothing I love or hate conflicts with the group!

Plot Seeds:

Rose is a walking, highly-armed, sometimes volatile bundle of daddy issues.  Sooner or later, Slade will show up in her life again. What then?

It's hard to live on the edges of society, especially when your own code will bind you to any deal you make.  What could go wrong?

Rose has tried to keep the world at arm's length after losing her chance at a normal life so early.  What if she sees the chance again?

Greenthorn

Name: Ashley Miller
Codename: Vex – she got the name during her “hero phase” from Robin
Age: 30
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Allegiance: New Order
Appearance: 5’9”, 130 lbs., long black hair, hazel eyes
Faceclaim:

History:Ashley was born in Munich, Germany and spent most of her childhood there. Her parents moved her to different countries as they became increasingly paranoid of their surroundings. Little did they know it was their sweet daughter unknowingly manipulating thoughts in their minds.  As their paranoia grew, so did hers and she was projecting her thoughts right back to them, creating a vicious cycle until eventually, her parents realized the source of their troubles and left 17-year-old Ashley in the US alone. She spent two years homeless and wandering the US, living in various shelters until she realized her abilities. As she stood outside a law firm, begging for money from passerbys, a well-dressed man stopped in front of her to fish out a few dollars from his wallet. She wished she had his bank account, wished very hard, and the next thing she knew they were walking to a bank. That day she moved off the streets and into an apartment and became obsessed with honing her powers.

A few months later, she found herself in the midst of a battle and when a building began collapsing, a large chunk of debris fell towards her. She was able to stop and divert the debris and save herself.  After that she was the victim of road rage. An asshole almost hit her with his sports car and once he parked his car and got out, she angrily lifted his car and threw down the street causing a massive accident at an intersection.

Finally, a year later she was trying to help the Titans in a fight with a villain. Her inexperience with her own powers only made their efforts more difficult and the young leader of the team, Robin, addressed her angrily and called her vexing. This was shortened and became her codename.

Personality: She swings from being highly manipulative, self-confident, and paranoid, which makes her a loose cannon, to totally introverted and passive due to her lack of any meaningful relationships. She really doesn’t care which side wins, as long as she has a place within it, but she tends to favor the New Order… until she doesn’t. Deep inside all she wants is to be special and important, loved and revered, and content. She doesn’t handle perceived rejection very well.

Powers:

Vex's powers are emotionally driven. Her powers also have no clear indicator they are used.
  • Telekinesis – She can protect herself from blows and impacts. She can pick up and manipulate weights at a distance, such as cars and throw those around. She can shatter wooden doors and  rip metal doors of hinges.
  • Vertigo Inducement – When terrified she causes vertigo, confusion, and nausea in a wide area.
  • Telepathic Implantation – She can implant thoughts in other’s minds, as an extension of her own desires. She gets what she wants.
  • Telepathic Communication – When she's emotionally calm and stable, she can telepathically communicate with others as long as she can see them or knows them well enough.

Special Qualities: Because of her paranoia, she is rarely caught off guard. She can see trouble long before it reaches her. She can use her powers gently to avoid detection. She stays off radar as much as possible. Wealth.

Abilities: Speaks fluent German, French, Russian, and English.

Special Equipment: None.

Limitations/Weaknesses: Her paranoia causes her to make bad decisions. She suffers from her own Vertigo Inducement power, though her suffering is much less debilitating than her victim’s. She must be able to see her target or be in the same room/area for most of her powers to work.

Ons & Offs: Not necessary, but here

Plot Seeds: She has allegiance to one person, herself. But she tends to side with the New Order… unless the rebels have a good plan, but don’t expect her to stick around after.

TheHangedOne

#21
Name: Amund Mercer
Codename: The Stranger/ Triskaidekaphobia
Age: Mid twenties
Species: Metahuman/Blank
Gender: Nonbinary
Sexual Orientation: Asexual, Aromantic
Allegiance: Me, Myself, & I (Rebel)

Appearance: There is no one in the world who claims to have seen The Stranger beneath their suit. A high tech piece of armor, it is made up of a mirror-polished metal that is bent at strange, seemingly broken angles. Looking at their armor is like looking into a spider-cracked funhouse mirror. It warps, distorts and reflects everything that is projected onto it (including light; protip: bring sunglasses). Some villains, having gone up against them, report strong feelings of fear and paranoia; a sense of having stared too long into an abyss. Due to the sinister feelings the armor inspires in others, there are many who believe The Stranger may very well be their own, special brand of villain.
Faceclaim: Unknown

History: Amund's parents are unknown to them. As a child, they bounced around between foster homes, before getting lost in the system, and disappearing. They can not remember a time in which they were not scraping by, often by stealing from villains to get what they needed to get by. Amund does not know when they put on the mask, and became The Stranger.

There's also the very real and tangible problem that Amund Mercer has no birth records.

Personality: Neurotic, introverted, closed, driven, self-assured, indomitable, inscrutable. Underneath all the obfuscations, trickery, and guile, there seems to be certain rules that they operate by, but nobody has ever pinned them down, and they do not bother to pontificate on right, wrong, or their reasons. The one thing truly well known about this enigma is what they have told villains that they have (non-lethally) taken down: no one is beyond redemption. Yearn for the light, with all yer might.

Powers:
*Blank: When around The Stranger, empaths do not pick up on their emotions. Those with psychic abilities do not detect, and can not manipulate, their thoughts. The Stranger has no aura, or other way to be identified supernormally.
*Normal Filter: Plain humans find it extraordinarily difficult to notice The Stranger if they are not actively doing something to draw attention to themselves. People's attention are naturally drawn to things directly around The Stranger, instead. Even when they do something conspicuous and attention grabbing, normal people often find themselves unable to visualize or describe them after the fact-- an average sized person of average height with an average build who might have brown hair (or blond, or brunette, or maybe it was black?). This power does not have any effect on recordings (and anyone viewing said recordings), nor does it affect most super/meta humans.

Special Qualities:
*Extreme Persistence: The Stranger needs little food, water, or sleep, and remain functional with 1/3rd of the normal requirements for a human. They can also go for four days without sleep before the exhaustion/fatigue negatively impacts them.
*Unyielding Will: When it comes to matters of willpower, The Stranger is a quintessential "immovable object".
*Peak human performance: While The Stranger does not have super speed or strength, their physicality has reached the human maximum in all manners--strength, speed, stamina, reaction time, et. al.

Abilities:
Firearms knowledge: Handling, maintenance, and modification of pistols, submachine guns, and shotguns, as well as hand-loading ammunition.
Martial Arts: Taichi, Judo, and Aikido form a core of martial arts training. While not a master, they blend these styles together nicely. Sambo and Eskrima are far more aggressive styles that are used as a supplement for dealing with stronger enemies.
Processing: The Stranger's brain is not enhanced in any meaningful way, however, it is fully capable of algorithmically sorting and compiling large amounts of information, and flawlessly recalling said information.
Hunter: Stalking, shadowing, trailing, hunting. Whatever you want to call it, The Stranger always finds their target. Alongside their Filter, they have classical training in evading notice.
Parkour: Tying in well with their martial arts, The Stranger is quite adept at parkour.
Gear Maintenance/DIY production: Any gear they use, they know how to maintain it or to produce it. That knowledge can occasionally apply to also fixing adjacent things.

Special Equipment:
Improv Flamer: A powder-based flamethrower that releases a small cloud of combustible material (typically flour or powdered creamer) and then ignites it, producing a quick flash of fire. A small device, it is primarily used to start fires, rather than as a proper weapon. It has three 'charges' before it needs to be reloaded.
Remington: A Remington 870 TAC-14 with a pistol grip, pump light, and shell carrier. The shells of choice for The Stranger is either rubber ball rounds, or a custom-made "Dazzler" shell (which releases sparks, smoke, and other distractions). When dealing with drones or light armored vehicles, they always bring along a couple of FRAG-12 shells, just in case.
"Irony": An extremely modified pistol of unknown origin. It uses a CO2 charger to fire tranquilizer darts, and holds eight rounds. Due to an integrated baffled sound suppressor, it produces exceedingly little noise, but has a limited range. The chemical compounds used affects people within six seconds, and causes an incapacitating laughter-fit that is often described as horrifying to behold and to be subjected to. Those dosed with the chemical, which is similar in nature to, but distinctly different from Joker Venom, are left choking, gasping for air, crying, and laughing for up to six minutes. Even after it wears off, the individual is often distressed, sore, blinded, covered in snot, and otherwise will struggle to be combat capable.
"Shock Therapy": A heavily modified and oversized stun baton. Can short out unprotected electronics, as well as incapacitate people.
Abyss Armor: The Stranger's iconic armor. Made of a lightweight metal that has been shined to a mirror polish, the strange angles of the armor deflects most bladed and light-based weaponry. The armor itself is capable of stopping a few rifle rounds (though they hurt like fuck), and other, non-armor penetrating ballistics. It is a well-grounded suit that is not particularly harmed through electricity, and insulated against heat; a togglable closed cycle system protects against smoke inhalation and gas-based deterrents (tear gas, etc). Dynamic sound cancellation and flash responsive materials render flashbangs ineffective.
Terror Multipliers: The Stranger uses a variety of smoke canisters, flashbang grenades, and other items to create fear and confusion.

Limitations/Weaknesses:
High Maintenance: High tech armor and gadgets all require a lot of rare components and materials for upkeep and maintenance. This also requires a suitably secure, hidden lair kitted out with all the relevant tools to perform said upkeep.
Untrusted: To put it simply, most heroes are disconcerted by The Stranger. While they have never actually committed any crimes (or at least not been caught), their inscrutable nature and psychologically intense fighting style, leave many people deeply concerned about this vigilante.
Disconnected: The Stranger understands fear and panic, but not love, hate, or other emotions. If someone's acting based off of those emotions, they develop a degree of unpredictability for The Stranger.

Ons & Offs: N/A. If it becomes relevant, just give me a nudge.

Plot Seeds:
*Amund has a tattoo on their chest. "PIN: 13". With false, flimsy memories of a past that never existed, it begs the question of who they are, why they are, and what they are.
*Amund is highly disconnected from humanity. Becoming connected, and perhaps even developing authentic emotions, could be quite fun.
A&A's and O&O's *Status: Here and there | Games: Aiming for punctuality*
"In prosperity, our friends know us; in adversity, we know our friends."
"In the ocean of knowledge, only those who want to learn will see the land."
"Before you roar, please take a deep breath."

This has got me interested, but my brain is being indecisive as it tends to be. I've got concepts in this world for:

- Myriad: The first of a growing collective of hackers/saboteurs that all use the same name and general 'uniform' to commit acts of civil disobedience against the new regime;
- Tad Ryerstard: Because he's my usual DC go-to. Only this time he's have dropped the Nite-Wing hero persona and would be working for the New Order as a grunt, while holding sympathies for the Resistance;
- Tad Ryerstand... still a vigilante, but barely keeping it together while in possession of a Red Power ring;
- Blindspot: A metahuman who cannot be seen by technological means and uses his gift for the most noble of reasons... stealing stuff; or
- Oliver Queen: Left behind by the Justice League when they went off world, now in hiding from a world government that wants to snuff out the last of the remnants;

So yeah... too many ideas.

Consider this a hold on any new applicants after this post until the game is properly started with it's own board. After that Kara and I will add people again.

Oliver Queen is for me the most interesting option, as he could definitely function as a rallying point for an organized rebellion.
