Battlestar Galactica, Reimaged.

Basis:
Aria Torres. She was a young woman of 24 years, naturally gifted with the talent for engineering, a talent for flying; an understanding of machines that seemingly went beyond natural. Emotionally harassed and bullied into the military by her mother, Admiral Tanya Torres, Aria Torres, her call sign Phoenix, climbed in the ranks and became the CAG of Battlestar Hyperion. 

Caprica. It was where Lt. Torres decided to spend her vacations, and with the stresses of work, with her ill begotten relationship with her mother, the loneliness, she went into therapy. Her doctor proved to be an interesting man, and unknown to her, a Cylon, model two. He, however, was aware, and became obsessed with Lt. Torres. Eventually, the doctor convinced Aria to leave the military, and to take up her own dreams instead of trying to constantly prove herself to her mother, fruitlessly.

Aria left the military, and managed to secure a career in engineering designing military ships. Her therapy ended, yet the relation between doctor and patient blossomed into that of serious and intimate relationship.

Months later, the Cylons would attack the Colonies.
Months later, Aria found herself separated from her lover, not knowing if he survived the attack on Caprica, and she was drawn back into the military by her mother.

Notes: Fan fiction of an alternative tale wishing to explore several themes within the story: human loss, isolation and loneliness; Cylon/human relationships; moral issues; duty, to name a few. The tale would begin with Aria and her lover being separated, and reuniting.
