[Seara]

As Trenton pulled up to the curb of his sister’s house, he paused. He had no clue who this person was, and they were going to be living together for an indefinite amount of time. He had tried to keep his mind off from that fact the whole trip here, but now as he looked at the looming house he could not keep the thought from entering his brain. She was his sister, his twin sister, yet he did not know hardly anything about her.

Growing up in two different houses, when their parents divorced, his mother got her and his father got him. There was the occasional phone call or Christmas card, but traveling across the ocean just was not a possibility at the drop of a hat. He and his father had lived in Hawaii until just recently when his father had decided he was going to go on a world cruse and that Trenton was old enough to leave the nest. College started up in just a couple weeks, and his twin sister was ironically going to the same one. By the grace of God she had rented a house off campus and was looking for a roommate, he was that roommate.

After looking at the house for a good minute, he shut off the engine and stepped out of the car. At 5’10’’ he wasn’t short but not overly tall, his sandy blond hair draped over one of his crystal blue eyes, he reaches up and pushes it back, as he is almost constantly doing, then walks behind the car to the trunk. The trunk pops open at a touch of a button, he stares down into the depths at the two duffel bags that contain everything he will need for the next 5 months. Slipping the keys in his pocket, he grabs both of the black bags, slams the trunk and walks up to the house head held high. He would be damned if he was going to let her know that he is apprehensive about the whole situation. At that moment, he happens to look next door and seeing a collage girl sun bathing, he gives her a half cocked smile, well at least there were some benefits about the situation.

Putting both bags down on the porch steps, he knocks on the door then leans against the railing one hand in his pocket as he waits for her to answer the door. He wonders if she is as nervous as he is for a second, then his eyes go back to the sunbathing neighbor, figuring he might as well enjoy the view.

It was so hard these past two years with knowing her brother was never going to walk through the front door again. She would never hear his laugh or be able to talk to him again. He was dead you see. Some dumb accident where some drunk driver ran him off the road into a lake. All she knew about her roommate was his name nothing else. Neither did she know that he was her twin and he would have to show some documentation about that. She was just a little shorter then him at 5'5. She had the same color hair and same crystal blue eyes. The neighbor did not seem to notice him but maybe down the line. Soon she was at the door and opening revealing someone who looked just like her except more boyish. "Hello." She said quietly and wanted to know if he was ok and not some crazed killer.

[Seara]

Trenton’s attention was snapped back to the task at hand when his sister answered the door. He gave her an award winning smile “Hey, you” he is still leaning against the railing, duffel bag at his feet. He is not exactly sure what to say, so he begins to ramble a little bit. “I think I am going to like it here, the weather may not be as nice as Hawaii, but the view is sure awesome!” He chuckles to try and break the obvious tension she is portraying to him.

He picks up the duffel bag, looking over her once again. They looked so alike, at least he wouldn’t have to get a sex change to know what he would look like female. He almost laughs aloud, but does not think she would appreciate him commenting on something like that. “So um...are you going to invite me in? Or we could chill on the porch for a while. Did your mom explain anything to you?” He looks at her hopeful, thinking the more he talks the easier it will be for her to accept him.

Did he expect to just come in without some kind of explanation about who he was? "Yeah it's nice." She said not really warming up to him yet. Plus since she lost her brother this was going to be very hard on her. "Wait my mom's dead. What do you mean by her telling me something?" So he was some kind of weirdo she thought to herself and almost walked away shutting the door in his face.

[Seara]

A look of confusion crosses his face. He was going to have to be really careful with her, she seems to be on the defense and he isn’t exactly sure how to handle her. “I am sorry, I meant before she passed away. About how our parents split, and when they did they decided to each take a twin, you with our mother, me with our father. I guess they figured they wouldn’t be missing anything since we would be doing the exact same things at the same time for the most part. Although I don’t think they thought about us when they did that...” He was rambling again, he knew it, but what else could he say to her? He scuffs his feet at the wood of the porch nervous that she is going to turn him away and make him find another place to live on short notice.

No her mother did not tell her anything about having a sibling and this guy seemed weird. She leaned against the door frame looking confused. "I only had one brother." She closed her eyes as if putting a memory out of her mind that was painful. "If you are my 'twin' then I need some pretty good evidence." She emphasized on twin because she would not believe this.

[Seara]

Trenton had thought that his father had told her he was coming, running a hand through his hair he frowns slightly then digs into his duffel bag for something. “Here take a look at this.” He hands her a copy of his birth certificate, it had his name, her birthday, her mothers name on it, and it said that he was born a twin, in the same hospital she was born in. “I also have this, my father gave it to me.” He shows her a picture of them as babies, both swaddled and her mother is holding both of them smiling. “I really thought you knew I was coming, sorry to confuse you.” He shoves his hands in his pockets to keep from hugging her. He can see that she is going through a rough time.

After seeing her mother holding the twins she gripped the picture and read the other stuff. The pain was coming out and she did not like this. This boy was her twin and she did not like that either. Giving him back off of his things she turned around and walked away leaving the doorway open. "You can have the room in the back of the house." She said simply knowing that way she would not see him very much.

[Seara]

He takes his things and puts them back inside of his duffel bag. Hefting the bag on his shoulder he follows her inside. “Ok....” he seems confused as she just keeps on walking. Running a hand through his hair in frustration, he goes to find this room she spoke of. As first impressions went he really must have mucked things up. Finding the room he puts his bag down. Looking around the room to see what he might need to get to make it workable for the year.

She hoped that he would not be in the same classes as her. While he went to find his room she went into the kitchen tears streaming down her face as she gripped the counter top. Lately she had been ok with the death yes it was hard but now seeing her twin it was all coming back. After a few moments she went to get a drink of water and gulped it down.

[Seara]

He starts putting things away, hearing the water running in the kitchen he thinks about going and talking to her. He gives her a couple more minutes before going out to see if she is ok. He pops up in the door way and leans against it. “Are you ok?” Her face is a bit red, so he wonders if she has been crying but isn’t too sure.

When she heard him come back she quickly wiped away the tears and did not turn around to face him. It's really none of your business now is it?" The tone was cold as she turned around to face him her face was now the color it should be. No she would not get close to him at all.[color]

[Seara]

He nods, not sure what to say to her, shocked and a little hurt by the cold tone. They were strangers but she could at least be civil with him. "I was just trying to help. If you are mad that I am here, we can make it a short arrangement until I can find other housing, it isn't a big deal, it isn't like we know eachother." He mentally shrugs, it bothers him that she is upset, but he really doesn't know her.

She turned around again away from him this time. "No your my.....brother...you can stay." She almost spat out the word as if disgusted by it. Even so he was family but she did not want much to do with him right now.

[Seara]

Looking a little confused, he nods "Alright then, I guess I will go to my room..." He turns around to walk out unless she stops him. He can figure other things out later, she doesn't seem to want him around, and he can't exactly figure out why.

An hour or so past and she decided she was going to go to the store. "I need to go to the store." She yelled to the back of the house knowing he would want to go with her. They were out of food and she needed some for her and her 'twin'.

[Seara]

Trenton, hears her talking, but can't quite understand. He gets off from the bed opens the door and jogs to where she is at. He realizes his mistake a few seconds too late. As he reaches her, he looses his breath, and begins to gasp for air. He pats his pockets, but his inhaler must be in his room. He tries to stay calm, "Hold *gasp* on...I have to go and get *gasp gasp* my inhaler...my asthma *gasp" he trails off as the attack continues.

When she hears the familiar coughing and gasping she runs into the bedroom before he could go. "Use this." She said her hand shaking and she wanted him to use it and not die. Tears filled her eyes as she remembered what happened.

[Seara]

He takes the inhaler gratefully, putting it to his lips taking two puffs to open up his air ways. He takes a few deep breaths as the medicine does its work. "Thank you, oh please don't cry..." He has no idea what to do with crying women, they make him nervous.

She could not help but cry she missed her brother and this was not helping. "You don't understand." A small sigh escaped her lips when he felt better and his breathing got better.

[Seara]

He awkwardly pats her back as she cries. "Of course I don't, you haven't told me what is wrong" he shifts visibly uncomfortable.

[darkvamplips]

She winced when he pats her back. "My brother died from astha." She looked down away from him.

[Seara]

His eyebrows furrow together. "I am so sorry." He doesn't know what else to say, he really didn't think about people dying from asthma attacks any more.

[darkvamplips]

"Well now you know." She whispered not looking at him but the tears kept coming down her cheeks. Why was all this happening?

[Seara]

He awquwardly, stands there, not wanting to pat her back again she didn't seem to appreciate it. He puts his hands in his pockets, not sure what to do "Yes, I will try not to have any more attacks..."

[darkvamplips]

Her hand slowly clenched into a fist as he said those words. "You can't promise me that." She whispered.

[Seara]

He shifts his weight from foot to foot, "No, I can not promise that I will never have an attack, but I can do things to help prevent them from happening. I forgot to take my controller meds today, I will make sure to take them daily." He hopes that will at least cheer her up to know that she has motivated him to take his meds regularly.

This was all to much to much pain all at once. She would never hear her brother's voice and laughter again and this was killing her. Since the burrial she had not been down to see his grave and she did not want to go either. There was so much that she wanted to say to her other brother the one that died but he was gone. "Please don't go back on your word."

[Seara]

He nods, and pulls out his cell phone, setting a daily alarm to remind him to take the meds he needs. "I won't. So we should get that grocery shoping done, I am sure you have things you would like to do later on."

[darkvamplips]

There was nothing she had to do tonight. Since he was paying rent he should pay half the food bills to. "Can you pitch in half for food? I didn't get a lot of hours in on this paycheck." She turned around to grab her jacket from her room.

[Seara]

He nods "Yeah, of course, I mean I will be eating it.." he gives her a half grin, hoping to  lighten the mood.

[darkvamplips]

Her face seemed to lighten up when he made that little joke but that was all. At least it was something. "I don't think I can eat it all." She made an attempt at a joke but failed. since the death she had not been eating much and it showed.

[Seara]

He starts off towards the door "Thats good to know, I eat like a starved horse." He opens the door for her.

She slipped out of the door and waited for him. Now she was not going to let him out of her sight. "Let's go."

[Seara]

He follows her "Lets hit it. Do you have a list?" Just wanting to make sure if she has one that she grabbed it, he knows how sometimes things slip from your mind when there is a medical situation.

[darkvamplips]

A small nod came to her as she reached in her pocket and pulled it out. "We can add more to it as we go. These are the things I like I didn't know you were coming."

[Seara]

He nods "Ok good, lets go" he hops into the passanger seat of her car. Hoping she has good taste in music.

[darkvamplips]

She was more distant then ever now and placed the list in her pocket. "Do you have your inhaler?" She asked starting the car up.

[Seara]

He puts on his seat belt. "Yeah, I made sure I had it" he didn't figure he would need it but to make her feel more secure he would carry it now.

[darkvamplips]

She got into the drivers seat and put her seat belt on. Slowly she turned on the car and pulled out of the driveway.

[Seara]

He watches the scenery as they drive past it "So, what is there to do around here, when not enveloped in studies of course." he keeps his tone light, hoping maybe to draw her out a bit more.

[darkvamplips]

"It's pretty boring. There's not much except movies and the beach." She shrugged softly and kept driving keeping her eyes on the road.

[Seara]

He shrugs "Are there any good hang out spots? Or any clubs?" He watches the scenery go by, he gets the feeling she doesn't hang out with alot of people.

[darkvamplips]

"A few clubs and bars but not really any hang out spot." The car pulled over into the other lane and continued driving.

[Seara]

"Do you ever go clubbing?" He watches the buildings go by, glad she seems to be a pretty good driver.

[darkvamplips]

"I go to a few bars every now and then mostly by myself." Soon she drives up to a store and stops the car.

[Seara]

He nods, "We should go out sometime, have some fun." He unbuckles his seatbelt and opens the car door. He hops out, and waits for her.

[darkvamplips]

"I guess." She said getting out after turning off the car then going over to him. Slowly she made her way into the store.

[Seara]

He smiles at her, walking besides her "So what else do you like to do? Hobbies?" He was probably going to drive her insaine with all the questions.

[darkvamplips]

She rolled her eyes as she put a quater into the cart and pulled it out then walked into the store. "I live horse back riding." She said quietly.

[Seara]

"Then we should go do that" He follows her, starting to put things in the cart all pretty much junk food, ding dongs, yahoo, gummy worms.

[darkvamplips]

"Ok that's enough junk food ok?" She asked when there was a lot in the car. "Let's stick to the list please." She started putting things in the cart that were from the list.

[Seara]

He looks to her almost mortified "No more Junk food....but..." he sighs a little bit giving in "Ok, no more junk I guess." He looks at the list, and puts some things in the cart.

[darkvamplips]

"There's already a lot in here right? We can get more once I get paid again." She said reading the list out of his hand and grabbing something off the shelf.

[Seara]

He nods "Right, sorry I don't usually eat this...healthy" he gives a grin, grabbing more of the 'healthy' food.

[darkvamplips]

"Well maybe you should." She was worried about him and headed to the cashier.

[Seara]

"I grew up in a man's house, we ate pizza every other day. But I guess no time like the preasent to change that" He walked with her, already trying to calculate his half of the bill.

[darkvamplips]

"Plus junkfood will kill you eventually." She said putting up the groceries on the convyer belt.

[Seara]

He chuckles "If you say so." he helps her put the groceries on the belt.

[darkvamplips]

When the cashier rang through their order it came to a lot more then what she had. Did he have money?

[Seara]

Before she even asks, he hands her a little over half the cash they needed for the groceries.

[darkvamplips]

"Thanks just take it off your rent." She put the bags in the cart.

[Seara]

"I eat too, there is no reason for me not to help pay" He helps with the bags.

[darkvamplips]

(Flashback)

Tears filled her eyes as she held her brother's head in her lap. "Please try and fight." She can't live without him and little did she know she would go through 2 years of pan and suffering until some new brother came along.

[Seara]

The brother looks up at her, a almost cruel smile forming on his lips "I can't anymore." his eyes close and the breath leaves his body.

[darkvamplips]

"No." She started crying as she held her dead brother's body in her arms. Moments later he was taken away from her arms as they took him away.

(Present time)

She almost fell over the cart as she saw the flashback of her brother dieing in her arms. The pain caused her to lose focus and almost fall over.

[Seara]

Trenton goes to her immeadiatly "Rebecca, are you ok?" he puts an arm around her, not wanting her to fall and it her head on the hard cement if she faints or something.

[darkvamplips]

She almost pulled away from him but didn't. "I'll be ok." Her hands went to her head and she shook it. A flashback why?

[Seara]

He looks over her concerned "You go sit in the car, I will load the groceries in" She was pushing herself too hard, lived alone for far too long. He was going to take care of her wheather she liked it or not.

[darkvamplips]

"That would be a good idea." She stumbled to the car feeling light headed and got in the passenger seat.

[Seara]

He loads the car up quickly, afterwards getting in the drivers seat, "I need the keys Rebecca" he says it softly incase she has a head ache

[darkvamplips]

She handed the keys to him and put her hands on her head. What just happened? Was that a way of showing that he would return soon?

[Seara]

Taking the keys, he drives home quite cautiously, surprisingly enough not getting lost once. He keeps Glansing at her, just to make sure she is still doing alright.

[darkvamplips]

"I'm fine." She said after he seemed to look at her for the tenth time. This was getting annoying but he was caring for her at least.

[Seara]

"I am just making sure" He blushes slightly, being caught being sensitive. They get home and he pulls in the drive way. "You go lay down, I will put the groceries away"

[darkvamplips]

"I'm not glass I'm not going to break." She was fine now and she was not used to this attention. Could she tell him what happened and why she almost fell over?

[Seara]

"No, but you scared me back there. So enjoy this one time offer of me doing all the manual labor. Go lay down for a bit" It would also give him time to gather himself back together. He just met her and really didn't want something to happen to his sister.

[darkvamplips]

One time? "Fine." She said going inside then keeping the door open for when he came through the door with groceries. Slowly she climbed the stairs and went to lay down in her room. The tears began as she let out the pain from seeing the flash back.

[Seara]

He, smiles at her as she goes upstairs, then takes the trips back and forth to the car, and starts poking around in cupboards, and in the fridge, to find out where she stores everything.

[darkvamplips]

It did not matter where he put things as long as the frozen stuff was in the freezer and cold stuff was in the fridge. She laid on her bed the tears falling from her cheeks and soaking her bed.

[Seara]

He finishes, and begins to wander around the house, looking at all the little things that make a house a home, looking over photographs, he pauses when he finds one of their mother and her, or in retrospect his, brother. No wonder she is hurting, he was so young.

[darkvamplips]

He was younger by only 2 years but to young to start a life on his own or to even know what life was. "Are you ok?" She asked when she did not hear anything for a while her fear through the roof.

[Seara]

He turns to look at her "Yes, I was just looking at the picture. I am sorry I never knew our mother, or brother." His voice is tender, he can tell she has been crying, he doesn;t want to upset her more.

[darkvamplips]

"Thanks." She went on her back then sighed. Why did her brother have to die and leave her alone like this?

[Seara]

He wonders if he should ask, then figures it can't hurt "Do you want to tell me about them? Some times talking about someone makes it better.."

[darkvamplips]

She took a deep breath and started telling him about her brother. How he had always been there but the thing she did not say was how he died in her arms.

[Seara]

He listens, patiently, asking questions where they need to be asked, but mostly he listens, hoping she feels better.

[darkvamplips]

It doesn't really help but at least he knows about his brother now. More then before.

[Seara]

He nods "Feeling any better?"

[darkvamplips]

She shrugged softly and looked at him.

[Seara]

"Would you like a hug?" he opens his arms to indicate the offer is there.

[darkvamplips]

This would be their first. If they hugged there would be a bond. "I don't know."

[Seara]

He shrugs "The offer is there if you ever want to take advantage."

[darkvamplips]

She lifted her arms up hesitantly looking at him quietly.

[Seara]

He hugs her, patting her back, like a brother would. "There. Now I should go hit the hay, it is getting late"

[darkvamplips]

A few moments later she pulled away scared from what he said. "Please stay in here?"

[Seara]

Looks a little confused, but slowly agrees "Ok, sure, let me just get my pillow and blanket"

[darkvamplips]

A small nod came to her as she moved over to allow him to sleep on the bed. She wasn't going to make him sleep on the floor.

[Seara]

He hesitated only for a minute after he returned with his pillow and blanket. The he put his pillow on the bed and got on top of the covers, pulling his comforter over himself. "That should work"

[darkvamplips]

Now that they were getting closer she did not want to leave his side. "Thank you." She meant for staying with her and sleeping in the same room.

[Seara]

"No problem" He knew she was tender and needed someone. He stares at the ceiling as he waits for sleep.

[darkvamplips]

Slowly she closed her eyes and turned away from him. She always slept on her side.

[Seara]

He continues to stare, untill sleep finally comes over him. His dreams are disturbed, as if there is a shadow he can not yet see. He tosses a bit in his sleep.

[darkvamplips]

About two hours later she wakes up screaming. She had a dream about her brother dieing in her arms.

[Seara]

He sits strait up, "Fire!" he shouts, breathing rapidly her screams scaring the living daylights out of him.

[darkvamplips]

Beside him she was shaking and crying. "Sorry." She whispered.

[Seara]

He doesn't even ask, he wraps his arms around her, stroking her hair gently "It is ok, just scared me"

[darkvamplips]

A sigh of relief washed over her when he hugged her and she did not protest his hug.

[Seara]

He continues to hug her untill she seems calm again. "We should go back to sleep." he slowly releases her.

[darkvamplips]

"Stay here." She whispered putting her head back down on the pillow when he let go of the hug.

[Seara]

He lays back down on the pillow nodding "I will not leave you" his words are drowsy, already about to slip back into sleep.

[darkvamplips]

Maybe they should move in an extra bed so they didn't have to share the bed. Soon she was asleep.

[Seara]

He sleeps deep and dreamlessly, exhausted from the day.

[darkvamplips]

About 10 hours later she woke up wondering where he was.

[Seara]

He is sitting in the living room infront of the T.V. with a bowl of cereal.

[darkvamplips]

Her anxiety arose in her chest when she did not see him. "W-where are you?" She cried out starting to shake.

[Seara]

He was startled when he heard her, putting down the bowl, he jogs down the hall to the room "Hey, sorry you were still sleeping and I was starving." He sits on the edge of the bed.

[darkvamplips]

When he sat on the edge of the bed she immediately grabbed onto him. "You s-scared me." She was crying.

[Seara]

He wraps his arms around her " I am sorry, you looked like you needed the sleep, I didn't want to wake you." he pats her back softly.

[darkvamplips]

"Yeah but you didn't have to leave." She gripped onto his shirt and was still shaking.

[Seara]

He wraps an arm around her "I am sorry, I won't leave before you wake up again."

[darkvamplips]

"I'm sorry I sound like a freak." She continued to grip onto his shirt feeling scared he will leave again.

[Seara]

"No, no, you have had a trauma, it is understandable. " He holds her close to him.

[darkvamplips]

She felt a little calmer now and her tears had stopped. She felt safe in his arms.

[Seara]

Not moving away from her, he looks down to her "Are you hungry? I make a killer bowl of cereal"

[darkvamplips]

She nods softly and stands up wanting to go with him. "Sounds good."

[Seara]

He walks with her down to the kitchen, getting out the bowls, cereal and milk. "So what do you have planned for the day?"

[darkvamplips]

She sat down at the table wondering how long he could keep this up for. "I don't know. I have nothing planned right now."

[Seara]

He pours them both a bowl, and then the milk. "Ahh, I have books to buy for my classes, so we can go and do that. Then I don't know it is up to you" he smiles and sits down across from her.

[darkvamplips]

"Classes?" How would she survive with him going to a class and not being able to see if he was alright. Her hands shook slightly as she picked up the spoon.

[Seara]

"Yes, I am enrolled for classes." He watched her hand shake, maybe he should find a friend to stay with her during the day.

[darkvamplips]

"I don't know if I can do that." She whispered her spoon halting halfway to her mouth before waiting for an answer.

[Seara]

He thinks this over "We should see if there are still openings in my classes, you could join me." he just threw the thought out there.

[darkvamplips]

"Or just go in there to sit. If I get a doctor's note the teacher should let me." She looked down feeling very foolish right now.

[Seara]

That could work also, you could help me with my homework, any good at taking notes?" his voice has a slight teasing tone to it, as if to say that he wouldn't really use her to take all his notes for him.

[darkvamplips]

She rolled her eyes. "I'm not doing all of your work." She said jokingly maybe she could take some notes for him or something.
