BC fire

I need to say something. This fire is near where I live. It's quite far from my house just across the water. I also live on the other side of the city. But my friend had embers in her backyard and she's not that far from me. If I get evacuated please don't think I have just left and forgot all about you. I will be fine no need to worry about me. I doubt I will have to leave but if the embers fly across to this side and start a fire I will have to leave my house.

Update: There are two fires I forgot to say this. One is about 350 hectares the one you see in the picture is about 100 hectares.  The bigger one is 40% contained now meaning chances of me having to leave went down a bit. Thanks everyone for their support and prayers.

Update: There is a bigger fire reaching 850 hectares in almost the same spot now. The good thing is it's farther away from where I live so chances are I wont be evacuated. The fire I was worried about is now 60% contained. The smaller fire is at 150 hectares and 10% contained.

Update: No real news on the fires or how big they are. But 6000 people were allowed to go back home today (tuesday) as of 8 am this morning. There are a lot more people who are evacuated and things can still flare up.

Over 17K people have been forced from there homes due to this fire. It's outpaced even the 2003 fire.

Yes it's over 10 times the size of the fire we had in 2003. It's at 350 hectares. So far it has not reached here and we did have a small fire where we live but it's under control. 10,000 people have been evacuated another 6000 are on alert.

I got to see this up close. I was on this side of the lake away from the fire last night.
