First of, the idea of this game is to be fun, chaotic, enthusiastically charged and full of little weirdness. With that goal in mind, I suggest taking Maid RPG to the stage here.

What is Maid RPG ?

Maid RPG is a japanese roleplaying game that has been translated and its three japanese volumes compiled into one English book carrying the name Maid RPG. Its pretty cheap but I don't expect people to need to actually buy the book, if they have questions I'll try my best to answer them, and guide the folks through the character creation.

The main focus of the game is gaining Favor, having fun, and enjoying the absurd, funny world of Maids. Whether its a Ninja-Neko-Cyborg Maid, or a bishounen man (who has a secret, he's actually a woman) working as the family Butler, to Vampires, Witches, Demons and Angels, a myriad of strange things and people can be present and worth a laugh.

The game is normally run with the Storyteller playing the 'Master' (who can be male or female just as well) but I think if there was a clear interest for someone to play a master and others playing the Maids, then it can be considered, the rules make it a definite possibility too. The Master is purposefully 'weak' though, dependant on the maids help to get things usually done, though in possession of great power that makes them a person worth being a Master. Using those powers, they can change things a lot, but if they use them all up, they lose their right to be a Master.

Anyhow, wanting to see if there is interest for this, if there is, I would be happy to run it and try to help out with things. For those who would want the book themselves, Google it. The site that sells it isn't that hard to find, its name is pretty appropriate for the RPG system.

There has already been 1 Maid RPG game here, that seems to have paused for now.

I think it provides an example, and shows a few rules in use, while leaving some others out of use. I enjoyed reading it and wonder what a new group could do.

is there room for a butler, and if so DIBS

Wintercat

I think that having a Butler is just fine, and a welcome character to have along. Do you have a copy of the book or would you need help with character creation?

I do think though that we need some maids in order to play in the game, they are the namesake of the game afterall, and the most powerful people in the game usually.

I would call spot for master. I do not mind be 'weak' mechanically expect when I use the great power (which has limited use I presume) which is able to make big changes. Or as a second second butler. Oh better! How sounds masters personal driver? Butler can be person working inside the house and overall be leading male servant while driver is the general handyman/errand guy and personal driver for the master (altough most animes/manga indicate butler often are personal drivers as well).

Anycase do not own/have the book.

@fallensaviour:
Glad to hear you have the book at your disposal, it ought to help out with things. I am looking forward to getting this on the run, but it would require some Maids to keep the game interesting. If we dont get the interest of any maids, the game would end up boring the good people I am afraid.

@Zaer Darkwail:
Well having either a Master or a second male servant would be welcome. I think it would also give the maids (assuming we draw interest for those positions) more people to interact with and pull favor from. Given how random events rules ought to be in use though, it should permit for interesting scenario to all. About the question of the Master's strength, yes Master usually has a superior power of some sort, two actually at the start of the game, they may be same kind, or different in kind, but when they are used, they are gone. Master that spends their last, is no longer fit to be a Master. However, the rules for Master state they gain new powers on occasions. Plus these powers are usually pretty absurd in power, Deus Ex Machina of a sort.
I've taken the Oath of The Drake. Remind me of it if you think I act against it.

Zaer Darkwail

Ahaa, well I would like play as master then if no one minds :). So two powers which both are once per time use. But what you mean them being same kind or different?

minerva7790

This sounds interesting. Not familiar with the book itself, though the concept of maids always excites me! ;)

I'd like to join in this, ran a game of this before and it was a ton of fun. I'd be playing as a maid seeing as the other positions are taken.

@Zaer Darkwail:
The Master has, in general, 2 powers when the game starts (if the rules for a Master to be playable are in use, normally its a Storyteller role) and can use one of these at any time. The effects can be the most game-changing ones of all, but the master has limited amount of this power. S/He can spend the rest of the power at any time too, expending the second use, but after that they are no longer fit to be a master. If they wait, though, I think it should be something along the lines of 'one per episode' or such if comparing to Anime, they may gain a new power, which may be the same they used to have, or something new.

Examples would include Magic, Technology, Wealth, Influence... say, the Master is feeling stressful about those knights trying to attack his mansion and the princess-in-exile turned into a Maid in his protection, and he invokes his Magic power. The land under the knights suddenly cracks and they fall down a deep ravine, splashing to an underground river carrying them away as the Master laughs, but feels the physical tiredness for having gone and used that powerful eldritch power in him. Now he still has his 'Wealth' power left, but he doesn't use it, not in that episode. Later on, he gets a new power, and he can choose whether to take a new bit of 'Magic' or maybe a second 'Wealth'... or maybe he's got some fear and respect going on, so 'Influence' or such. All purely in thought phase still.

@minerva7790:
Welcome along, the game is mostly centered on the Maids as the game's name suggests, and the hijinks they may get into. Given how the game is very Anime-Inspired in its making, I think it could provide folks with a lot of laughs and fun. Glad to have you around.

@ExisD:
Welcome along, and hope you will find a game fun here as well. I think there's a nice number of people present by now, I might take up playing a Maid as well then.

The character creation is different for Maids and Butlers, as well as Masters. Fallensaviour, would you offer a helping hand to Zaer Darkwail about playing a master perhaps? I'll give the general rules about making a maid here first, I can post the basic character creation rules for them too later I imagine.

Maid Creation
Step 1: Attributes

Roll 2d6 and divide by 3 (rounding down) for each of the six abilities below.
Athletics (Physical actions, combat)
Affection (Ability to bond with Master and Others)
Skill (Your ability to perform as a Maid)
Cunning (Tricking and Deceiving Master and others)
Luck (How lucky are you)
Will (How positive you can be)

Step 2: Maid Types
Roll 1d6 twice, to determine type of Maid you are. You may get same result twice.
1 = Lolita, 2 = Sexy, 3 = Pure, 4 = Cool, 5 = Boyish, 6 = Heroine.
All of these give one ability +1 and another -1. Also, for sake of clarity, I think we shiould have it clear that Lolita is appearance or personality type, character may well be even hundreds of years old vampire already, or a petite adult woman that has the (un)lucky fate of appearing like someone who cuts it close.

Step 3: Maid Colors
Roll d66 (Roll 2 dice, and designate first as 10s and the second as 1s. Result is something between 11 to 66) twice, for the two colors that make up the Maid's colors. Can also be rolled if you want to randomly choose the Maid's hair & eye colors.

Step 4: Maid Qualities
Maids get 2 qualities (the rules permit having even more but for a starting game I think that 2 qualities would be best) by rolling d66 for each.
Rolls of 41 - 66 have to roll an additional d6 to determine the result on a 'subtable'.

Step 5: Etcetera
Roll 1d66 for Maid Roots (background) and Stress Explosion (What happens when they are too stressed). This also includes things like Trauma tables, and Maid Weapon table. I think we should steer away from too much Drama (just my opinion, people are free to suggest otherwise if they wish) and use the Maid Weapons table. So, 3 rolls, for Maid Roots, Stress Explosion, and Maid Weapon.

Step 6: Maid Power
Based on your highest attribute. You roll d6, and the Storyteller looks up the appropriate power for that roll. If your total of all your attributes is 9 or less, you can roll a second Maid Power. In case of a tie for the highest attribute, choose which attribute's table you want the roll to take place in before rolling.

Step 7: Favor and Spirit
Your starting Favor is equal to your Affection, times two. Favor is this game's 'currency' for causing random events, for improving your abilities, and your ability to resist being thrown out. If your Favor drops to 0, you will be fired, or have to drop an attribute to get half the cost of improving that attribute in Favor, basically losing ability in exchange for some Favor to remain.
Your Spirit is equal to your Will score, times ten. Spirit is important, its how long you can resist some embarrassing things and such before you succumb to a Stress Explosion.

Step 8: Name and Age.

I also think the players should have the right to request a reroll on something they dont feel makes sense or that they are against. In this case, lets say for example we use 2 rerolls that you can use or leave unused, as you see fit.

Alright, there's the start, lets show you an example.

Athletics: 3 (Rolls of 6 & 3, divided by 3 (rounding down))
Affection: 2 (... 2 & 5)
Skill: 3 (... 6 & 3)
Cunning: 2 (... 1 & 6)
Luck: 3 (... 6 & 4)
Will: 3 (... 4 & 5)

Maid Type: Sexy & Pure (...2 & 3) - Interesting combination. The Maid is sexy sight, but maidenly and seems a little clueless about her looks maybe) Sexy gives +1 Cunning, -1 Will. Pure gives +1 Affection -1 Cunning. So total modification is -1 Will, +1 Affection. The cunning bonus and penalty negated one another.

Maid Colors: Brown (5 & 1) & Metallic (5 & 6) are the uniform colors. Hmm, earthly brown with a bit of a metallic to the outfit. In this case, I think I want a reroll. (4 & 4) So, White. Rerolling the Metallic, I am now left with Brown & White maid uniform. That doesn't sound bad.

I'll also roll for hair & eye color just for the heck of it. (2 & 5) So the character has Navy Blue hair, quite exotic I'll say, or perhaps a dye. (4 & 5) Grey eyes. Oi, something a bit mysterious about this maid already.

Maid Qualities: Rolling (6 & 3) first, this means the maid's ability is Shapeshifter, but requires a reroll on a subtable. Roll 6 on the subtable indicates a Snake. So, this maid's first quality is that she's a shapeshifter able to shift her body to that of a large snake. Scary enough, but we still got the other roll to make for the other quality. (3 & 6) Amusingly, a mirror of the first roll, 36 is Angel/Devil. I can't really imagine an Angelic snake, so the character is then a Devilish woman that has the ability to turn her body into a large snake. Yikes! Her master better not anger her too much, and her jokes about 'swallowing' may be more creepy than funny sometimes. At least she is just joking.

Maid Roots: Roll (4 & 2) indicates Business. This maid is in the line of work for the money, not very exotic or anything, but at least there's something a bit ordinary about her. Perhaps it just means she needs to be warmed up to other reasons.

Stress Explosion: Roll (2 & 5) indicates Teasing. Uh-oh. If the stress gets too bad, this maid starts teasing other maids and torments them with her attention until the stress explosion has passed.

Maid Weapon: Roll (1 & 2) Stun-Gun. For a devil, she is pretty practical. If she has to fight, she'll jab someone in the ribs with a stungun huh? I kind of like her style.

Maid Power: The maid has many abilities at equal levels, so I decide to just use Luck, she is more lucky than anything in my eyes as a concept. So, rolling 1d6 I get (1) so the ability she has is Karma. Using Luck to Dodge an attack, and if she rolls 10 or more she can cause TWICE as much Stress on her opponent. Ohh, I like this, its this Devilish woman's amusing ability, "Avenged Sevenfold" I decide to name it for a laugh.

Lastly, I decide the maid's name is Luciana, and she is 29.

Now for a background, Lets see.

Luciana is a young devilish woman, with small horns and a slender devil tail. She is usually seen in her mostly brown maid uniform with a white apron around her, her blue hair flowing down on her shoulders. Her grey eyes show a fair bit of sweet purity that would be more at home in an angel than a devil, but her devil side has given her an ample bosom  that often teases the eyes of those she curtseys to, often wondering what's the cause of their seeming embarrassment afterwards. She is a kind hearted person but she works for the money, its just the way it is for her.

She seems to have a weird luck about her, any malice against her risks causing bad luck to whoever tried to attack her, and if she gets into trouble she pulls out a stungun to shock whoever has pushed her into a corner. Her kind nature is a way to protect others though, when she is too stressed out it cracks and a more devilish side shows up, ready to bend a fellow maid over the knees and spank them for causing her trouble, or to yank the butler's otherwise fine outfit's tie off of his neck to let the stiffy guy look a bit less sophisticated for once.

That's just an example, but if someone wants to do the rolls, I'll gladly give them the laydown of what they got by the dice's opinion.
I've taken the Oath of The Drake. Remind me of it if you think I act against it.

Back story:
Lydia used to be a maid in service to the throne when one of the royal wizards got a liking for her. They in particular had given her many problems before. They abducted her for nights at a time, but the weak maid could not fight back. This was was different though; he wanted a perfect slave: loyal, sexy, and able to destroy his enemies. Unfortunately for him, he only succeeded at two aspects.

Now powerful enough to act on her desires Lydia killed the man and vowed revenge on all wizards. She decided to start at the head and work her way down from there, offing minor mages along the way.

My apologies, Zaer, been caught up here. Anyhow, going to give the directions for making a Master soon, but making that Maid from your stats to see what she is like then.

A&A

Zaer Darkwail

Heh, quite fun maid I got up :). But consider she's elf and gray hair does not suit them. So would likely re-roll or decide it's same color as her eyes. Pure and Cool bribe to be with halberd and able make fake cries who has a stalker :P.

Anycase waiting master stats for now.

Wintercat

Alright, then,
Master Creation Rules
Master's Gender, Name, and Dress are upto the GM/player to decide.
The master has no Favor points, but serving him will grant others Favor.
The master has power to give absolute orders to maids, headmaids, and butlers in his service. (We are not employing headmaid rules in this if I can help it, sorry.)

Step 1: Master Type
Roll of a 1d6 determines this, but I'll list out the options. (Mainly because I figure a roll of 1 should be immediately rerolled, and later cases age Decided not rolled. Actually, it might be wisest to decide this instead of rolling at all.)
1= Small Child (Age 2d6)
2= Legitimate Child (Age 5+2d6) [The Master is still a child. He's just starting to understand his Power]
3= Layman (8+2d6) [Master is an Ordinary Person who came into wealth by chance]
4= Natural Born (12+2d6) [The Master is a young man or woman, and probably learned certain things wrong and has some twisted ideas]
5= Aristocrat (1d66) [The Master was born to be the Master of the House, regardless of age he has excellent self-control.]
6= Recluse (1d66+10) [The Master has already put an end to his dealings with the outside world, and adopted a secluded lifestyle.]

Step 2: Master Special Qualities
Roll 1d66 Twice. (Optionally roll Trauma Table with same dice, might make things interesting, but personally see it better left out from first tries)

Step 3: Master Power Source
Roll 2d6 twice, if you roll the same result twice you have two different forms of the same power source.

Step 4: Favorite Maid Type
Roll 1d6 from the Maid Type table. Determines the type of Maid the Master particularily Likes. (Lolita, Sexy, Pure, Cool, Boyish, Heroine)

Step 5: Stress Explosion
Roll d66 from the Stress Explosion table (As in, same table as the maids.)

Step 6: Master Colors
Roll d66 for Master Hair and Eye Colors. (Or decide) Master can change outfits freely, so rolling for their colors is not important.

Step 7: Attributes
Roll 2d6 and Divide by 4 (Round Down) for all Attributes, except Will.
Will is 2 (Spirit is 20).

Step 8: Finishing Touches
Apply name and gender at this stage.
I've taken the Oath of The Drake. Remind me of it if you think I act against it.

But if vampire is sepparated choice in the roll then my re-roll for special quality is 13.

Vampire is a separate choice on the list of options, though if you preferred to choose that one for the sake of game spirit I think it could be acceptable, the main point is to have fun not to be a slave to the dice, their place is to handle conflicts anyway.

But the roll of 13 then.

-Royalty: You're among the heads of a country or organization, and as a result your life is often put in danger.

That'd explain the tougher-than-your-average-girl maids then. Plus the Butler.

Possible, if you want cyborg butler which has roasted skin on surface and orange eyes and blond hair with implented exotic weapon then go for it :).

Wintercat

The characters look very cool, we now have a Master, a Butler, and a seriously scary Maid.

Don't know if there's much romance spawning from the current characters that easily but a lot of fun should be ahead I think.

Anyhow, need to put the Mansion together at some point, I'm personally thinking of using Contemporary Light setting for the game and trying to put the Mansion to match that, a Palatial Residence. Beyond that, I am considering either letting the dice decide or asking what the players would like to see.

If you want to make changes on the 'Contemporary Light' options as well, or the Palatial Residence, do bring them up as said the game is supposed to be about Fun, ultimately.

I'm a fan of more random rolling for the scenario. We also need another maid to counter balance mine, preferably someone less scary.

As master? Yeah I know, have PM discussion with Wintercat about how to play as Master and how reward favor etc.

Kunoichi

As someone who signed up for the other game but hasn't gotten the chance to play yet, I think I'd like to sign up for this one, if you still have room. ^^; I just rolled up a character now, and...

QuoteAthletics: 4
Affection: 2
Skill: 2
Cunning: 1
Luck: 2
Will: 1

Maid Types: Boyish, Pure

Uniform Color: Blue, Cream
Hair Color: Silver
Eye Color: Brown

Special Qualities: Tragic Love (Separations), Albino

Maid Roots: Orphan
Stress Explosion: Shopping
Maid Weapon: Chainsaw

Favored Attribute: Athletics
Maid Power: Giant Weapon

Favor: 2
Spirit: 10

I got an albino woman who's strong (Athletics 4), but a little ditzy (Cunning and Will 1), someone Boyish and Pure who was orphaned at an early age and taken in by either the Master or his father, who has been consistently unlucky in love and who, for some reason, fights with a giant chainsaw. >>;

Given that everything else is normal, I think I'll have it so that not even she knows what's up with the chainsaw.  It'll just be some unexplained skill passed down in her family line, or something...

fallensaviour

she's from a family of circus folk who used to juggle chainsaws?

Kunoichi

Nah.  More like in Saitama Chainsaw Shoujo, where the main character's American Grandfather taught her a chainsaw-based martial arts style developed by Confederate foresters during the American Civil War. ^^

...Don't think too hard about that one. :P

Hmmmm, my maids tend to be boyish and like wield mega big weapons. Looks quite interesting so far :).

Anycase question; what 'boyish' would be defined in the maids? Would it mean the girls wear more manly clothes or have quite slim body builds (not big busts or femine traits besides hair and face)? Or more behavior wise more masculine?

Anycase fine with that Kunoichi char was picked up by Masters father and she was raised in the mansion. She's working in gardening perhaps and mansion has rather big garden (and garden bush statues) so she grew familiar with use of very big chainsaw?

minerva7790

I rolled a maid who's sexy and lolita! Not too sure how that is going to turn out... I PM'ed it to Wintercat to interprete the rest of the numbers, so I'll show it to the people here once he replies... :-)

Ok, I think sexy and lolita turns something like a mature woman with child alike behavior (or wearing clothes suited for children). Or reverse; a child alike body but wearing mature sexy clothes.

But consider elliquiy rules she must not be too 'childish' or 'child alike' so it goes not same as being with underaged person :P. She may very well be aware of her sex appeal (she's not pure so she could not be naive). But she perhaps on purpose dresses like a little girl to tempt people around her and have some child alike habits like call all adult men 'uncle's or 'daddy' or say 'Onee-chan!' which is Japanese for big brother if I recall correctly.

Just my ideas but it's your char so you decide how exactly she presents lolita and sexy.

minerva7790

I was thinking of ero loli, with fishnets and the like, though that's probably the wrong interpretation of lolita... :P Maybe your idea of a mature woman who acts like an innocent child might work! Ohh, I think I'm going to have some fun!

And 'onee-chan' means 'big sister'. Which is what my character can call the other maids. 'Onii-chan' is 'big brother', which I can call fallensaviour's butler character.

I'll let the dice do the talking to see what my maid's stats will be:

Edit 1:Hmm, never mind apparently Elliquiy doesn't support in post rolling I think.  Guess I'll have figure out how to work Dice Bot.

Edit 2: I'll use Invisible Castle instead:

Stats in order & Maid Types (2d6=7, 2d6=10, 2d6=7, 2d6=9, 2d6=6, 2d6=10, 1d6=5, 1d6=5)

Maid Colors, Special Qualities and Potential Secondary Rolls, Maid Roots & Stress Explosion, Maid Power (1d66=65, 1d66=35, 1d66=50, 1d66=57, 1d6=5, 1d66=46, 1d6=6, 1d66=49, 1d66=4, 1d6=6)

Edit 3: Never mind, I'm an idiot who rolled 1d66 instead of 2d6.  Back to the RNG drawing board.

Edit 4: Fourth time's the charm, thanks Zaer.

Click View my Rolls and when you do a roll (d6 or 2d6) you then check the 'latest rolls' and just copy paste the link.

Alright time to line up my maid's stats:

Attributes:
Athletics: 2
Affection: 0
Skill: 2
Cunning: 2
Luck: 2
Will: 2

Maid Types: Cool & Boyish

Maid Colors:
Uniform Color: Pink & Grey
Eye Color: Vermilion
Hair Color: Vermilion

Special Qualities: Dark Past [Amnesiac] & Glasses

Maid Roots: Orphan
Stress Explosion: Gambling
Maid Weapon: Bombs/Grenades

Favored Attribute: Luck
Maid Power: Saw It

Favor: 0
Spirit: 20

Hmm, this is a funny brew. :)

So my maid's history is that she's an orphan created from an incident she remembers nothing from.  As such, she hides behind her no-nonsense and tomboyish attitude and rarely associates with the other maids.  It's obvious she not entirely human given how vividly red her eyes are, which not even her glasses can disguise very well.  She has a disconcerting ability to be seemingly be everywhere at once as nothing escapes her notice.  When provoked, out come out the grenades she has hidden all over her.

So not a normal character....

Wintercat

Yuka's Character has been checked, and the rolls confirmed then. If she wishes to change something (rerolls) she can inform me. I sent her the relevant information and hope she posts it here then.

Right now, I'd want a head-count what we have and who are playing them.

I also need to talk with Zaer about the game and being a Master. I'm fairly tired today ( been a long, rough day in real life ) so I might delay it till tomorrow, but if I got energy left soon I will get to you.

Also, figured I ought to post the following rules for all to see, from the book:

Stress

Maids receive stress through combat as noted above, or when it’s assigned by the GM. Combat in particular can cause a maid to accumulate lots of Stress very quickly. When a maid’s accumulated Stress exceeds her Spirit rating, she enters into a Stress Explosion. When this happens, the maid remains under the player’s control, but she can only do things that fall within the character’s Stress Explosion. However, as long as it falls within the Stress Explosion, anything goes. Each minute of real-life time (including when you take a break from the game) spent in this state removes one point of Stress, until the maid finally gets down to 0 Stress. The player whose character took damage should take care of keeping track of time,
with the process verified by the GM. Stopwatches are pretty effective, but keeping track on a wall clock is fine, too.

Stress can also be reduced by spending Favor points; see below.

EDIT: We are running the game on forums, though, not in a tabletop, so lets say that its upto the players how long those minutes take, but in general, I think unless something truely extraordinary happens, it should be okay to summarize it in 1-4 posts, depending on the pace of posting at the time and the length indicated by the amount of stress.

Favor
Favor represents how pleased the master is with a given maid. The GM (master) hands out points of Favor to the maid characters whenever she feels like it. In particular, points of Favor should go to maids who work hard to serve, assist, or rescue their master. These points can be spent in the following ways:

EDIT: We are running the game with a Master in game, so I am giving him the right to award the Favor as he sees fit in this instance, if it gets entirely out of Control, I'll try and step in to help out. Also, there are some other ways to earn favor, but I'd not want to confuse the players even more so lets just leave it at that for now.

Usage Cost and Effects

Removing Stress - Spend 1 Favor to remove 1 point of Stress.

Raising Attributes - To raise an attribute by 1,spent a number of Favor points equal to the new attribute level desired, times 10.

Roll Bonus - Spend 1D6 Favor to add +1 to either the die roll or your attribute score for one action.

Random Event - Spend 1D6 Favor to have a Random Event occur.

A maid whose Favor drops below 0 is dismissed by the master or the household. To avoid being dismissed, maids can lower one of their attributes by one point, gaining 10 times the new attribute level in Favor (e.g., lowering Athletics from 3 to 2 provides 20 Favor), until the maid has 0 or more Favor. Of course, that means that maids can wind up on a downward spiral of reduced ability.

Difficulties and Results

Difficulty Number - Effect
4-6 - The minimum necessary to succeed at an action.
6-8 - Difficult for an amateur, but easy for a pro.
8-10 - Something only a pro can pull off.
10+ - Difficult even for a pro.

Note: Maids are basically pros in their area of expertise.

Also, rolls are generally made by rolling 1d6, and multiplying the result with the ability you are using.

Say, an annoyed maid sets up a trap to another maid, rolling 6 and multiplying it by her cunning, 3. This totals 18, so the trap is pretty good. The maid in question that walks over elects to roll her Luck against it, and rolling a 4, with her Luck of 4, has a total of 16. Not happy with the results, she spends 1d6 Favor (rolling a 4) and increases her Luck temporarily by 1, to 5. This gives her a total of 20.

The maid that set the trap watches as the maid that was supposed to get caught in her trap steps over that particular step in the stairs that she oiled up so the other maid would slip and drop the master's priceless collection of crystal figurines, surely getting a harsh scolding if she did that. With a frown the maid that set the trap watches the lucky maid continuing on, not even noticing the trap.

Just then a loud yell comes out and the annoyed Maid looks over at the stairs, then paling.

Master is on his back, one shoe missing from his feet and seeing stars.

Things aren't looking good for the trap-setting maid if she can't find a way to convince the master it wasn't her fault.

Sounds scary, considering I'll be going against the other maids with a hammer, when the rest have got chainsaws and the like. But I'm willing to give it a go.

Here's what I rolled, interpreted by Wintercat. He suggested I might want to reroll, since 0 spirit is scary, but I'll wait for him to get back to me. ^^

Name: Yuka
Age: 21
Maid type: Sexy (Cunning +1, Will -1) and Lolita (Luck +1, Athletics -1)
Colors: Uniform: Navy Blue and White; eyes: Silver ; hair: Pink
Maid Qualities: Trauma: Saw Parent Die, and Shy
Maid Roots: Revenge: The Master is your hated enemy, and you are infiltrating his mansion in order to extract revenge.
Stress Explosion: Spoiled Child: You act like a spoiled child, making demands of the master.
Weapon: Hammer
Maid Power: Instant Cleaning: Add +1 to your Skill for purposes of doing cleaning.
Favor: 6
Spirit: 0

Attributes
Athletics 1
Affection 3
Skill 4
Cunning 3
Lucky 4
Will 0

(Not-so-brief) Character bio: Yuka was born to a middle class family, the only child of two average but well-meaning magic users. She has fond memories of playing in her father's lab, being his good little assistant. All that changed in a terrible fight one day, when Yuka was but seven years old. Another wizard had broken into their home and began to attack Yuka's parents. Yuka hid herself in a cupboard, watching the fight through a small gap between the doors. In an hour, the fight was over, and Yuka was left orphaned by the mysterious man. Saddened and devastated by the loss of her parents, Yuka vowed her revenge on the mysterious man who had killed them. It was her anger that led her to the Master's mansion, the household belonging to the son of the wizard who killed her parents.

On the surface, Yuka is a bubbly but somewhat shy young woman,  who does not understand why her curvaceous body tended to give men nosebleeds. Her maid's uniform consists of a navy blue bodice with a white waist cincher, half-apron, sleevecuffs, and cap. (Perhaps if she wore less of her outfit, the men would have less nosebleeds? *smile*) Her mental growth seemed to have arrested since the day her parents were brutally killed, even if her body had continued growing. Whether the innocence is only an act, or if that is Yuka's true personality, no one really knows. But it might explain why she tends to act like a spoilt brat when her stress levels hit their max. The strength in her arms which she has gained from all that cleaning gives her the strength to wield even large hammers, such as sledgehammers or giant wooden mallets, which she hides somehow within her maid's attire.

Less popping up and more like knowing when and how people are naughty.  Also ready to roll forth and serve the Master.

Maric

Hmmm.  I like the idea of running a Maid game much better than the idea of just playing one.  Partly because I generally like GMing games better period, and partly because Maid gives me an excuse to pull out some absolutely ridiculous plotlines.  Might consider being a normal maid for this one, though.

Wintercat

Well either way, I need to see how many are actually ready and with what characters? That is, ready and still interested at least. Don't know if we've lost someone along the way.

For an Interest check I figured might just be forgotten after a while, this got a lot of attention. Positive surprise, have to say.

Maric

Really, I need to know how often I'd have to post.  If this is going to be a once-a-day kind of a thing, I don't really have room in my life for another one of those unless I'm heavily interested.  If it's just going to be once every few days, then I'll probably roll up a maid.

Wintercat

@Maric:

Thank you for the interest, the thread was to check if there was interest to a maid game at all to begin with and it seems to have got on the move and flowing to life already. Curious to see where it leads but its been waiting a few people a while and hence I've been trying to see how many are along and aboard at the time.

Seeing how a general game is a Master + 2-4 maids, it seems like this one will be a lively game with a Master, Butler, and several maids already. I'm actually very curious to see how it turns out but the things are in the players hands too, I am trying to help out mostly.

I'm ready to begin whenever everyone else wants to. Going to be adding a bio in later today if Zaer is ok with the Master being the lover from her past, it makes sense given the revenge roots roll.

Zaer Darkwail

Yeah, I am fine me beign the ex-lover. But how come I do not recognize you then and wonder why your maid :P. Magical alteration of appearance?

ExisD

Well metal hair and eye colors are hardly natural so I think that would work.

Zaer Darkwail

Yay, I got two maids and both are after master for sake of revenge :P.

He better be one smooth talker to charm those maids or it could be a rather sad, quick end to a tale.

Then again, if it goes like anime does, it could end up in a bit of a stalemate between the two girls as they argue who gets to kill him, who knows. Either way, it should not be boring.

Who knows, perhaps the Butler's presence is keeping them in line, for now.

Anyhow, are people feeling ready to start up sometime soon ?

Actually, when re-reading things I don't think that back story idea made sense. The master doesn't seem to be the stalker type. Either way I updated my previous stats post and would like to begin soon.

Zaer Darkwail

Ahaa I see, I am not sure what the tTragic Love (Stalker Damage) exactly means. I thought it means you as maid stalks the master :P.

Wintercat

Its more of a 'someone stalked her, creeping her out, causing trouble trusting people' perhaps. But, up to interpretation by people.

Either way, I will try and get the game going sometime soon, along this week at some point it would be good to give it a try.

Wintercat

I have not forgotten, but between starting another game a short time ago, getting a bit sick, and losing my notes for the Maid RPG for a while, I had reasons to not rush into it. I got my hands on the notes and will be posting the game's starting thread within next 3 hours time when I got my head sorted out and the medicine for headache kicks in.

It likely wont be a great start, but it will be a start. I'll link the thread here as soon as its up.

Zaer Darkwail

Just note I posted my first thread. I gave master's schelude and duties for maids/butlers. Up to you guys decide who does what.

minerva7790

Yay, duties! A question, however. Are we supposed to decide IC or OOC what each maid/butler does? Yuka volunteers to clean the master's bedroom so she can place some poison on his pillow. :P

I would also like that one answered, also how long has each of us worked there or is that our choice as players? Lydia can handle driving and slaying.. I meant what? After all accompanying would be too obvious.

Zaer Darkwail

I think you can agree on these things OOC wise. I think butler is eldest servant around and rest maids have been acquired reason or other over the years. Some new and some had been orphan adopted lil girls trained in the house as maids.

But ofc you can post IC wise your morning meeting where you decide who does what. After all maids can grow bored on their duties so they sometimes swap duties around. Example one maid does one week gardening work and next week other maid does it.
