Alright, at first I could not understand why people adored House. Last week, I finally was caught in the middle of house episode with a guy holding him and some people hostage and now I get it. I have been trying to keep up but managed to see a whole Turkey Day marathon and can see his appeal.

Like Sherlock Holmes?
If you're searching the lines for a point, well you've probably missed it; there was never anything there in the first place.

Yes though the original Holmes doesn't usually self-medicate other than his tobacco pipe.

The original Holmes used Coke and opium.

Aye, then I must re-read those stories then or it was edited out in the children's version then.

Yup, that they did. House's appeal is really in what a lot of people want to be. We want to be so damn good at what we do we don't really have to answer for it. I think that's part of it. That and you catch those rare moments where House actually cares.

He is someone I would love to give a good punch in the mouth, take him a bar to apologize afterwards and then back to my place.

And you don't like it? That's sort of how everyone feels about House.
