That is correct, Matt had both talents which makes intresting issue that did he have other before the other.

Well, the old blood first seemed to crop up after Shadar Logoth. I definately recall him using the Old Tongue when he was being Healed from that dagger.

The dark ones luck I recall happening both just before he left Tar Valon, and later in Tear.

Been awhile since I read the books, but it seems like a wish in one of those weird doorways had something to do with Matt's odd assortment of abilities as well. The wish that got him hung, and filled the holes in his memories with all kinds of knowlege

The first one of those was after the Stone fell in Tear, and the second one was at Rhuidean (or however it is spelled). I'm pretty sure Mat demonstrated both his talents before that.

Certainly after the second one he got a lot more fluent in the Old Tongue, thanks to the gaps in his memory being filled in, and his luck seemed to increase the same way.

So, he had both abilities latent but after he nearly got hung they becomed the actual abilities I quess. But feat wise Dark One's Own Luck is not latent but straight feat. But it can be made bit more powerful and make somesort latent version of it. Or he simply got more levels so both abilities got stronger.

The dark ones own luck can be taken multiple times. I guess if we're talking mechanics-wise, he had latent old blood and dark ones own luck before Rhuidean, and then old blood and multiple dark ones own luck after ... give or take.

I really liked the setting, I read the books, but I didn't like any of the characters, there were just too many of them to get any attachment to one of them.

Oh, Asmodean is a pretty cool fellow in my opinion.

I switched pill bottles!  For weeks now I've been doubling up on my thyroid medicine and skipping my antisychotics! 

I have a pill bottle packed.  Please give me a week to get my neurons in order again before you give up on me!

I was thinking of either being a Aiel of the Aethan Dor (Red Shields) or Shae'en M'taal (Stone Dogs). Red Shields are like police of the Aiel and Stone Dogs are often used as rear guards, refusing to retreat.

Or if there is an Aes Sedai that is in need of a Warder, I can do that.

Well, with Elliquiy games, I find it easier to do the rolling myself, so knowlege of the system is secondary, except for the muchly missed initiate of the white tower.

Could you run the novice as an NPC til someone turns up who'd like to play one? Alternately have the aes sedai happen across a wilder or runaway novice at the point a player is available?
