if you read the article... it says they are the type of waves youd expect from a superdense object, like a massive blackhole, not in anyway indicative of a attempt at, or even accidental, communication by alien lifeforms.

Even a small neutron star would be a major discovery if only for the virtue of it somehow being ejected with that speed.
