If you went with Lion clan, our characters could potentially know each other; as a part of his Musha Sugyo, Kenshin (my Crab Bushi) has spent a lot of time in the Lion lands, and there's some mutual good will there, since he shares some of the characteristics the Lion honor. They could have taken part in the same battle, or something similar, if you're interested in such a connection.

I'm still thinking of a Lion who was hostage with the Dragons, or Dragon hostage with the Lions. Decisions, decisions.
I'll make up my PC tomorrow, and will keep you in mind when I come back to the thread looking for connections >:)!

I'm interested in playing, but I'd like to play the character I played in the last game you ran that didn't get far.  They don't have rules for Minor Clans, but I've whipped up some stats on the fly, following the rules of the existing things.

The Fox Clan
Ring Increase: +1 Void, Skill Increase: +1 Theology,  Status 25

The Kitsune Family
Ring Increase: +1 Water
Skill Increase: +1 Courtesy, +1 Theology
Glory: 39

I'd then take the Crane Courtier school.

If ya don't feel like messing around with all of this I'd understand, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask.

Given that none of us have any experience with the rules yet, I'd prefer to stick with the provided material for clans and families. Would you be happy playing a Great Clan member instead?

No worries. I expect they'll have minor clan rules out sooner or later, I just don't know if they'll be during the open playtest, or after the game goes live.

So, as of now, I have 9 interested parties, which I think is about as many as I can handle. Anyone else curious about the rules is welcome to sit in with us, but I don't think I can take any more characters on for now.
