A young man riding horseback along side a stream notices a metallic case reflecting sunlight with what seemed like pointed spears of light which momentarily blinded him.  He called back to his girlfriend to say he had found something but her horse had yet to get on his side of the hill which stood about 100 yards back.  He wouldn't have been worried any way since she grew up in this area and her house was no more than a mile away.

He dug out the box which was made of a strong yet light silver colored metal.  All attempts to open it failed him.  Finally when Sandy his girlfriend caught up to him he told her he was going to shoot off the lock.  It took all six rounds, four square on the target, before the lock broke and the lid flipped open like a mini coffin.

The interior was a rather pleasant scent which he could not identify.  There were three shelves which contained extra accessorizes for the bow such as weights that could be added to counteract wind or to reach a certain distance.  There were also extra bows, along with wood and feathers to make more bows if necessary.  Paint was on the bottom with brushes and the main frame of the bow.  The shelves came out of the box like the shelves in a tackle box. Another shelf held out six arrows which were so ornate it was hard to believe anyone had used them.  They had lavish letters scrolled on them that looked Greek or Roman but he wasn't sure.  He noticed that the colors of the shank were different with more of one color than another.  Although he didn't know it the different colors delivered a different result.

The colors differed on the shank and the feathers that guided it.  One bow had a red body and black feathers and was used to cause short lived lust.  The other bow with a red shank and white flowers led to long term dating.  Next were two bows with blue shanks.  One set had gold shanks and the one with the red feathers led to a long happy marriage while the gold one with the white feather meant the victim would divorce.  One ominous black bow with black feathers lead to obsessive love such as that of stalkers.  And the other black bow had red feathers and this could reverse or act as an antidote to a victim but it must be used within an hour of the shot.

One final note.  The arrows cause a minute or two of unconsciousness and whoever the victim is looking at when they awake will be the object of their desire.  The current keeper of the box Danny skyler knew none of this information.

One afternoon his son stole the box and took it out in the field to practice target shooting.  A brat from his Senior Lit class who thought she was god'd gift to men surprised him from behind.  Instinctively he turned when startled and was unable to stop the flow of the arrow into her shoulder.  She crumpled to the floor and the story begins.

Much is up for discussion so I  would love to hear your input.
