Mass Effect: Xenoarcheological Studies

The reapers are coming. Certain powerful people have known this for years, assembling power and influence, but the majority were ignorant.

Even when Shepard killed one, and it's body had been analyzed, Most buried their head in the sand. Most, but not all. The Illusive man was one of these, the head of the pro-human Cerberus group, but, they would extract a high cost for being protectors. So, the Council formed a secret group within the Spectres, the XSC. THe XSC (Xenoarceolgical Studies Charter) allows the formation of a group, not many, no more than a handful of ships and a couple of secret facilities to chasing down the truth, following ancient legends and stories, looking for others, maybe weapons to use against the Reaper invasion, or a way to break the cycle.

The players will be one of these teams, XSC Spectres aboard the small ship Navigator. Each ship is full of advanced scientific equipment to analyse any finds which are discovered, without having to trail back to Novus the XSC home station.

I am interested in the game and here is my character concept.

Name: Brek Andres
Race: Human
Class: Soldier
Scientific Specialty: Psychology
Description:

Brek stands 6’1” inches tall and weighs 227 pounds.  He has an athletic build and is still in very good shape. Some noticeable features are that Brek has twinkling blue eyes, brown hair, and sports a Van Dyke beard.  He has a diagonal scar about 5 inches long on his abdomen from his first combat wound and a 2 inch long scar on his right shoulder from another combat wound.

Background:

Brek is from the human colony planet Elysium. Brek had a relatively uneventful childhood. He lived with his parents, an older sister and a younger sister. It was noticed he had above average intelligence while attending school. In fact, he was the only one of his friends how liked being in school. Then, when he was 16 years old in 2176 when the Skyllian Blitz occurred. He helped the Alliance forces by running messages and carrying supplies. When he reached 18, two years later, he enrolled in the Alliance’s Military Academy. Brek performed well and while he was not the top of his class, he was in the top 25% of the class. He was initially assigned to 10th Frontier Division and was assigned to a recon platoon of M 35 Mako’s as the platoon leader with a marine rank of second lieutenant. After 4 years, because of his outstanding performance he was reassigned to the Alliance Spec Ops Team Delta and he had earned the marine rank of captain.

Name: Chris Knight
Race: Human by way of Mars to N7 program
Class: Infiltrator
Scientific Specialty:Computer system, from coding them and slicing them, as well as being able to make Alliance technology worth with Alien Technology

Background: Chris was born to the Mars colonel doing what many other a part of that colony wanted to do, which was get off of Mars.  Chris entered the Earth Alliance Marines before his legal age.  As such he was a bit on the young end, but he was a Lance Corporeal in the Marines which boarded the Citadel during Sovereign's attack.  He managed over ten kills of the Geth with his sniper rifle, getting reinforcements to where Commander Shepherd was facing off against the Reaper and the rogue Spectre.  That the reinforcements were only minutes late was beside to point.  They had been in a position to aid in clean up efforts, and ensuring the heroes of the hour did not die some ignoble death once all the shooting had stopped.

Chris was fast tracked after to the N7 program, and from the start of their unit formation the group tackled Eclipse, Blue Suns, Blood Pack, and other minor groups which has sprung up answer to the void of power the Geth presence defined.  Their group was always about three steps behind the Normandy and their operations against the Collectors.  It was from the clean sweaps of locations such as Haven that allowed N7 put together the defenses against the collectors.  The spread the technology and had fortified several more human colonies, but then the Normandy went through the Omega relay.

It was another day of opening eyes.  The message from Shepherd and his crew were clear.  It was not a matter of if the Reapers are coming, but when they are coming.  The Navigator project was the next step for Chris.  We was a decorated soldier and his skills were unmatched, as well as his ability to make computers to do what he would want them to do.  As such Chris was pressing hard to be a member of this expedition.   The reapers were coming, and they needed dedicated people out there doing that they can to stop them.

This sounds like it could be a lot of fun.  I need to go and review all of the classes to find the best one, but I totally like the idea of a robotics expert.  Can I run around with a pet Geth Prime? :)

I'm actually considering a Quarian robotics specialist, possibly with some bionic (not biotics) parts... replacement limbs, perhaps, that look like Geth tech... since technically that IS Quarian tech.

Name: Xen'Davros
Race: Quarian
Class: Engineer/Infiltrator
Scientific Specialty: Cybernetics & Robotics, AI
Background: Xen'Davros is one of those hopefuls that had studied the Geth AI in hopes of finding a way to create a new option, some way to control the Geth again, or perhaps reason with them.  Unfortunately, not only did that not happen, but then Sovereign appeared.  At first Davros believed that it was some sort of super Geth vessel, and because of his specialization, him and a small team went to the Citadel during the battle.  Remote hacking failed, and eventually the team boarded the citadel in an attempt to deal with Geth intrusion.  During the battle, Xen was severely injured, and by the time he recovered, it was over, and they were calling it a 'Geth incursion'.  But from what Xen had seen, he knew this wasn't the case.  He tried to explain himself, but most just felt he was trying to make it seem worse than it was.  But those that knew how to listen took an interest. 

Medical note: Due to significant injuries, Xen'Davros' left arm was replaced with full cybernetics, as well as some organs and lesser areas.  Approximately 25% body replacement.  The prosthetics were partially designed by him, incorporating Geth technology into the cybernetics and his environmental suit, along with combat upgrades in case of future 'ecounters'.

Name: Jorgan Wraith
Race: Krogan
Class: Soldier
Scientific Specialty: Weapons & Ground Tactics Expert
Background: Out of the thousand Krogan that were meant to be born one day, Wraith of Clan Jorgan was the only one to survive.  The only one strong to overcome the burdens imposed on his people, he would grow under the care of his mother until the time of his Rite of Passage came.  Trials unlike anything he could imagine, Wraith ended the trial broken, exhausted yet successful.  Clan Jorgan welcomed him with open arms.

It only took another year or so of Tuchunka’s harsh environment and unyielding hopelessness before Wraith had set his sights towards the stars.  The next mercenary group to be unfortunate enough to land yet had enough credits and room to spare, Wraith jumped into blindly.  The Krogan warrior had made his name in the field, giving the Krogan standard of overcoming impossible odds and taking on armies by himself.  Eventually, his reputation caught wind of a few undercover Council agents who approached him with another impossible task to overcome.  While Wraith was no fan of the Council more than any other Krogan, it was a bigger payday than anything he had come across.

If you're all full on military types, I would be totally willing to step back and be the resident geneticist without military training! I would edit this sheet to make her less muscular, and a bit younger, as well as an adjustment to her history....

Anyway! I totally understand if I'm too late to the party, but I figure I'd go all in.

Name: Leah Conroy
Race: Human (Citadel born)
Class: Engineer
Scientific Specialty: Genetics and evolutionary biology
Background: Now 28 years old, Leah has been a dedicated soldier and scientist for most of her adult life. But there were two close calls in her younger years that almost led her down other very different pathways. One path was that of a rural farmgirl, the other was that of an enthusiastic exotic dancer. Leah was a wild kid, a risque teen, a confused adult, and finally a disaster survivor before she signed up to be in the Alliance.

She was born on the citadel, and lived there until she was seventeen. Before she left there, she was a bit of a permiscuous young girl. She had fudged a few facts in her dredentials and liked to spend her time with the Asari dancers in the dingy clubs. So, below legal age, she cheated the system and found herself to be a hot little human dancer In Asari clubs. This lifestyle didn't last long, but it was one of a few paths she was willing to take.

Not much was expected of her. She'd never met her father, and her Alliance mother was rather distant, always off on duty in some far reaching system or another. Credits were put into her account from momma Conroy every month, but nothing substantial had ever come her way. She was expected to fend for herself, and make her own way in life. Her mother was no captain, and nothing political was either of their futures.

However, when she was eighteen, she was travelling to a few human colonies to see what kind of future colonial life could offer. She was essentially giving up on living any kind of fancy life to go be a farmer for some man out on an alien world near the Terminus systems. Mechanical failures caused her transport ship to crash. She found herself stranded on a moon with thirty-odd other survivors for nearly four months. By the time a rescue transport arrived, there were only nine of them left. She had spent her time there learning to understand how complex and dangerous life can be. It gave her purpose, it made her feel special, watching those around her perish while she kept an even keal, and kept steady to survive.

She returned to the citadel instead of being a farmer, and started to study hard and immediately enrolled into the Alliance Military. She tested high, and they gave her combat training, but she was set aside for non-combat purposes, and trained as a scientist as well as a medic on the field. Over the next two years she advanced to Corporal, and continued to work with the Alliance. In addition, she earned a degree with Asari scientists for mastering every council races biological specifications and thensome. Moving forward, she wanted to focus on the Asari homeworld, since that world had the most fascinating biology in most professional opinions. She traveled to Thessia, and for seven more years she studied there in the most prestigious biological universities in the galaxy. While she was there, she also worked with the Asari military so that she could be more effective in the field. She only has pistols for weapons training, but her engineering skills are absolutely amazing. She's a natural born medic, and a hacking specialist. She has not gone through any biotics training.
