This started out as a one on one idea, but the player thinks it'd do better with more players here's the info.

outpost is a near future game setting....in which we discovered in the late 1990s that a large astroid was on a long term colision course with earth.  we had about a year to plan evacuations.  the top 200 humans on the planet were selected to be the crew of the Constogia, that was built as an international attempt to save the human race. four genebanks were created from samples of blood taken from the majority of the human race.  all the resources to set up an artifical habitat on another world were placed onboard the constogia, and the crew were placed into suspended animation following earths impact. because of predicted mpacts throughout the solarsystem   it was decided the crew would travel to a new system, after fueling the starship in jupiter orbit.  the constogia was launched and when the crew awoke several thousand yeras later they were in orbit of a new world.  the automated systems beginning a crude compound on the surface to house the colonists

its alot like a mix between venus and mars.  it has a thin atmosphere primarily of CO2, H2SO4, and various other toxic compounents,  suits are erquired to walk outside, and its the 2nd planet in the solar system roughtly .75 AUs out from the binary system's primary.  it does have some primative life forms, microbes, viruses, simple plants and very simple animal-like creatures in the premorial soup that passes for a sea on this world.  it has an active crust, with many volcanos bringing rich ores to the surface.  a average yearly temperature of roughtly 68* celcius outside.  a gravitational pull of .83 earth standard.  2 moons.
