So this is my problem:

I can't connect to my home wifi network. It just says can't connect and gives me the box to close. The network is working fine because all my other devices work off of it without problems. This is my desktop that will not connect. Any idea's what to do?

This is what I tried:

I went to network wifi settings on the computer and selected the one I wanted to use. Then it just gave me the same box. I am frustrated and confused as to why all the sudden it wont connect.

I do have windows 10 but I have had it for a while and it has worked before.

Signed.....Confused and frustrated Xandi

Hi Xandi,

If you're using a variation of Windows, try opening Device Driver and see if there are any warnings. You can go to control panel > system > device manager. You can expand the information by clicking on the arrow (such as under network adapters) and it will tell you if it's working properly (by its estimation) and give you options. If you right click on properties, you can try updating the driver.

The other possibilities are the card in your computer might be damaged, the driver might not be working with Windows 10 (if that's what you have) or you might have switched off Wifi. If you're using Windows 10, you can go into Settings and on the Network and Internet tab, you can check Wifi is on (you can switch the capability for it on and off). If you're not using Windows 10, I'll need to look it up.

If you haven't already done this, I'd try turning off your computer, and your wi-fi router and then turning them back on.

I've found this helps a lot since we've got so many devices now that hook into the wireless wi-fi -- tv, blue-ray player, desktops, laptop, tablets, phone, guests with their tablets and phones.    Our TV, especially, seems to get cranky about connecting after a while without a wi-fi reset.

Well that seems to have fixed it, thank you Amber and GypsyRose. I have been struggling with this for a few days now and I'm so glad you helped me fix it. Thank you both so much.

Huge Hugs to you both.
