Black Night - Deep Purple

Ah yes, DP. My 2nd Favorite Band. I love the Gillan Era in the early 70's.

Good stuff!

:)

Purple

The early 70s?  I wasn't born until the late 70s...you guys must tell me what you're talking about!

Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Rainbow.

The defining moments of Hard Rock, and all three of them put out (arguably) their best work from 1970-1978.

'Black Night' is a great DP song from 1970/71.

Oh, dear...Elvi, love and light of my lonely bamboo-munching life, you've inspired me.

My favorite five-song combo (Perfect Strangers/Stormbringer/The Unwritten Law/Burn/Son of Aleric) is now going on infinite repeat.

'Son of Alerik' what a great piece.

'Weiss Heim' from Rainbow is another of Ritchie's excellent instrumentals.

It's cool to hear someone else mention Son of Alerik though.

MadPanda

The amusing thing is that I got introduced to DP by Dream Theater, who did a cover of Perfect Strangers as part of a medley on A Change of Seasons.  Liked that bit so much I went looking for the original.

I have that Dream Theatre CD, and they did an excellent job I thought covering Perfect Strangers. I've been a DP fan since I was a small lad, and Rainbow as well.

My old gaming group in High School used to game with Perfect Strangers and Burn on in the background. Stormbringer is a good album also.

Just really good stuff.

RAINBOW? You dare to add RAINBOW next to those hallowed names? *shudders*

Well Still on 'randome',

Black night has been followed by:

All along the Watchtower - Bob Dylon.

Monkey off my back - Aerosmith (boogy boy boogy)

and now, to keep up my chair boogy.

Temptation - Heaven 17

As you may have noticed, a varied mixture of music is my want and need.....next up is

Street Life - Roxy Music

Purple

"Insatiable" Savage Garden

I've barely heard of Deep Purple (of course considering my name) and Black Sabbath...but I know nothing about them.  I was raised on oldies or country (thanks Daddy and thanks Momma).  Now the Beatles I know and understand.  :)

Yep, I sure do. I'm not talking the 80's Rainbow.

Two Albums specifically 'Rising' and 'Long Live Rock and Roll'. Both with Dio, and both with very majestic songs.

Currently listening to 'True Believer' by Testament.
