Pockets

If there's still room, I'd have had this up last week but between health issues and losing my job, I've had other issues to deal with.

Player ID: Pockets

Character Basics
Name: Shio
Gender: Male
Race: Human (Ursa)
Crew Position: Military Police
Rank: Centurion

Character Appearance
Height: 75 inches/ 190.5 cm
Weight: 180 lbs./ 81.65 Kg
Hair Color: As Picture
Eye Color: As Picture
Build: As picture
Distinguishing marks: Nothing really distinguishing except that he never wears armor of any kind.

Personality: Shio is a calm and reserved kind of man more prone to careful thought than rash actions. Despite the devastating capacity of his barehands, he prefers to render his opponents unconscious and put in manacles than killing them outright. A corpse is worth nothing but extra work, a prisoner is more valuable for its potential information.

History: Shio was raised in an Imperial Monastery. His life was rigorous and structured from his earliest memories. The Abbot informed him later in life that he was an orphan left at their door. As such they raised him as best they could. Which meant that he was raised as one of their own.

He learned the martial ways of the monastery slowly working his way up until he was given a choice. He could remain with the monastery and become a full Monk or he could go out into the world and find his own way. He was given three days to meditate on the situation. On the second day, the choice was made for him as officers of the Imperial Legion came and demanded, rudely, that they offer up 20 members of their monastery to serve in the Legion.

Knowing that many of his brothers were pacifistic by nature or were too young to serve, he confronted the arrogant Officer stating that the Monastery did not need to do anything that they would leave quietly of their own volition or he would carry their bruised and battered bodies out of the monastery himself.

The fight, such as it was, was short and one sided. Shio’s specialty had been his groundwork. Tripping his opponents to the ground and making them hurt. Within moments he’d rendered the officer and his escort unconscious before he literally dragged them, one at a time by their ankles and dropped them outside the door of the monastery.

Returning to the foot of the Abbot, he said, “My decision is made, Father. The Imperium wants twenty of us, but they can barely handle me. I will go and I will appeal to the Imperium to accept me and me alone.”

The Abbot shook his head, “You may go as one of us, but you will not go alone. The Imperium wants twenty of us and they will not stop until they have what they want. It is just best if we accept that and move on. Tonight we will feast. In the morning, I will accept volunteers. If we do not have twenty volunteers by the tenth bell, we will have a lottery to decide the remainder.

The next day, a full unit of the Legion arrived with the Officer from the previous day who was much more respectful in his request for twenty members who all left with only a small pack of food and the clothes they wore each to their names.

His actions against the Officers was enough to get him placed with the Military Police where he would use his skills to subdue those who had broken the law and would need to stand trial.

Combat Tricks

Agile Maneuvers (Combat): You can spend a number of stamina points equal to your Dexterity bonus while attempting combat maneuver checks. For every 2 stamina points that you spend in this way, you are considered to be one size category larger than your actual size when determining whether you can affect a target creature with your combat maneuver and when calculating your size bonus for that check.

Combat Reflexes (Combat): When you miss with an attack of opportunity, you can spend 5 stamina points to make a second attack for the same provoking action. That second attack of opportunity takes a –5 penalty on the attack roll and costs one of your attacks of opportunity for the round.

Improved Trip (Combat): You can select this feat even if you don’t meet the ability score prerequisite (Intelligence 13). You gain the benefits of this feat only as long as you have at least 1 stamina point in your stamina pool. When you are the target of a trip combat maneuver, you can spend a number of stamina points up to your Strength or Dexterity bonus, whichever is greater. Your CMD against that trip attempt increases by that number.

Improved Unarmed Strike (Combat): When you deal nonlethal damage with an unarmed strike, you can spend up to 5 stamina points to deal an amount of additional nonlethal damage equal to double the amount of stamina points you spent.

Scorpion Style (Combat): When you hit with an unarmed attack using this feat and the target successfully saves against the effect, you can spend 2 stamina points to reduce the target’s movement speed by half for 1 round.

Stunning Fist (Combat): You can spend 5 stamina points to declare that you are using Stunning Fist after you’ve hit with an unarmed strike.

Weapon Finesse (Combat): You can spend 2 stamina points to negate the penalty on attack rolls from your shield’s armor check penalty until the start of your next turn.
