Interest Check: Superheroes! Possibly Villains. (System)

Yes yes, I see the Superheroes and Villains thread too. Still, that seems to be all sorts of freeform, and I have an unnatural love of System games . .

Recently I got to play an IRL game that let me be a Superhero character that I ended up loving to death, even though I wasn't the one allowed to make the character. Characters were based off of ourselves, and it was great fun. I've decided that I want another chance to play the same/similar character, and possibly have some naughty fun here and there while I'm at it.

I'll have to say that I am NOT good GM material. Co-GM is a good thing for me to do, because i'm good at suggesting interesting ideas, and bouncing ideas off of . . but I'd really just like to be a player and have a bit of control over the setting/etc.

For the time being I'm suggesting that we play Aberrant, either as heroes or villains, with different fluff. The start would be involving the player characters becoming the very first metahumans due to various things that can be worked out later, and trying to get along in a world adapting to the sudden appearance of superhuman people.

If any prospective players would like more information about the system, and my proposed tweaks to it, drop me a line here or via PM/IM and I'll respond as soon as I notice/can.

I'm interested, though sad that Aberrant's good (in places) fluff would be abandoned. Count me in.

Well, kinda have to ditch a bunch of the fluff if you're gonna start at the (public) begining of metahumanity, huh? :)

But yes, when my ST ran us through the concept, it was a LOT of fun. The fact that our actions as the first metahumans literally changed the course of human history really made me giggle.

For Example: Due to our actions, at the end of the night (We ended up rping for more than eight hours!!!) after several timeskips, we had given Mexico an economic rebirth by putting our school for new metahumans there (and buying the land from Mexico). This turned Mexico essentially the vacation country of the world, due to metahumans coming from all around the world to live/work/visit. XD

True enough! Are you keeping the same general power level? Will we have to deal with taint?

If I keep Taint, then it will probably be adjusted. Not quite sure about the Power Level yet though. I'd be REALLY happy if my friend's internet work and I could get his tweaks easy-peasy like that from him, but if not then I'll do what I can to adjust things while still keeping balance. :x

Any particular city or area for the setting? What kind of characters are you looking for? What general tone do you think the campaign should have?

Hey hey, remember, I'm not planning on being the head GM if I can help it. I'm just laying the groundwork here XD

Still, something in the states would be nice, if only because I live here and all. Plus other reasons I don't wanna mention. Mutants Erupting in Washington DC would be silly fun. :)

The tone of the setting . . I don't know. It's getting pretty late so its getting harder to think/type properly. Ask me again later. :x

One- Mutants and Masterminds is a good system for superhero and supervillain type games. May want to look that over too.

Five prospective players counting me? I think we have MORE than enough now. At this point, we just need someone who'd like to GM. (Wee! I'm probably getting ahold of the delicious rule tweaks later tonight!)

As for how naughty I want it to be, naughty fun is NOT the focus of the game. I fully expect it to happen, but I don't want it to just be "Everyone is a pheromone/mind controller and wants to seduce the world!", you dig? :3

I'd suggest going for it Latooni, GMing isn't as hard as you think if you already have story ideas. I've got experience from other games- really your job is to give a basic story guideline and to smack down players trying to godmode. Think of the rules as more a framework to freeform inside of, a prevention measure to keep some players from ruining things for others.

It'll be tweaks on the Aberrant system, that simplify the rules to be closer to nWoD. I'm getting the homebrew/tweaks from my friend later tonight.

Also, hell NO I will not be full GM. If I had the ability to run a game and keep it going, I would've said I'd do it. I'll handle the simplified system, fluff, and other things for the GM who will actually do the storyline stuff and run it. Trust me, it's not that I've never GMed before, it's that I'm a TERRIBLE GM :/
