The Horizon Isles were found only a year ago and already the first Gijinka settlers are arriving to help ... settle. It's what they do. Being settlers. I didn't know where that sentence was going and I'm sorry now.

But they shall face many trials, strange Pokemon who keep trying to steal their stuff. Rain! Mysterious forests. Weird caves. Even more rain! Harvest Season and Storms. Storms with rain in them! They brought tents, it'll be fine.

There's plants to document, food to be cooked, things to be built and a million other jobs to do when everyone isn't goofing off or being all lovey dovey. So maybe some actual work will get done, if we're lucky and a town and port might actually get founded so more advanced equipment can turn up and start the whole fancy process over again.

It's a good chance to start a new life at least! Or at least go somewhere where people don't know about your old one...

Basically the intention is to have a Gijinka Pokemon game where combat is not really a focus and instead it's more a settler colonial/harvest moon mash up. With a lot of slacking off for beach trips, wandering in the woods and hooking up.

The cast!

In this universe humans began to take on Pokemon like traits almost two centuries ago and by now everyone is just kind of rolling with it. They never did find out exactly why it happened, it's one of the big unsolved mysteries of the age, but it at least has made life a lot more colourful and occasionally explosion filled. Most Gijinka have a Pokemon or two to help out and do tasks, but actual duel fighting is more for the tournament scene and there ain't no tournaments out here in the new colony!

Character App

Just some real basic questions. All pretty simple and gonna need a picture!

Name: (Whatever really. They're from all over, can be Eastern, Western or just weird)
Gijinka Type: (The Pokemon you take after. How exactly can be from literal mutations to more just styling. It's still a mystery why that is, shhh)
Reason for becoming a Settler: (Why you decided to bail on your old life and start a new life at a brand new colony venture)
Planned role in the new Colony: (What, if anything, you plan to do to earn your keep once you arrive. Construction? Exploration? Shopkeeping? Beer Brewing? Stow away? Science? Photography? Make something up!)
Background: (Anything else you want to show off. Hobbies! Past Exploits! Terrible old relationships! All your weird behavioural ticks! Crimes!!!)

JoanieSappho

Name: Jessica Cennin
Gijinka Type: Farfetch'd
Reason for becoming a Settler:A new life, adventure, a cheaper way to get her own farm
Planned role in the new Colony: Farmer, Cook
Background:Older than she looks, Jessica has both an unnatural amount of knowledge and skill when it comes to vegetables - growing them, cooking them, fighting with them ... - and a similar level of love for them. If there's a problem, her first, second and third reactions will all revolve around applying vegetables to the issue.
Somehow, this seems to actually work fairly often.

Jessica has always been enthusiastic when it comes to vegetables, usually far too enthusiastic for those around her. Still, she did her best to hold down what jobs she could, especially those where she could use her knowledge and affection for such things to the fullest.
And then she got banned from the vegetable sections of most supermarkets over an incident that was, for once, not at all what people thought it was. But they still believed the rumours.

The chance to get a fresh start, where she wasn't considered worse than those women who brought cucumbers in to see certain movies, well ... she couldn't turn that down! Also, she figured that with few people around, at least to begin with, there would be a great chance for her to get in on growing her babies without much issue, or the costs of buying a farm of her own.

There were a few more misunderstandings along the way, but they finally let her on the ship when they realised what she was talking about with her sacks of seed.

Gardsorm

Name: Gene
Gijinka Type: Galvantula
Extra Notes: Gene stands at 5'9, weighing 151lbs. He has a tendency to get extremely creative with the strong silk he manifests, making it effective whips, ropes and other useful commodities. Often it also makes suitable cabling for carrying electricity when spun and twisted enough. He also has a tendency to fire electric attacks from his fingertips by making 'fingergun' gestures.
Reason for becoming a Settler: Kill two birds with one stone: Have his own home to come back to in a stable community, and help others with the herbs, minerals, and materials he brings home from his excursions into the unexplored Horizon Islands.
Planned role in the new Colony: Explorer, Gatherer
Background: Gene started life as a just-too-gutsy Joltik gijinka with dreams far bigger than he was. It was a great big world out there, and he wanted to be one of the few to just survey the world out there and go down in history as one of the few who'd seen it all. Of course, being unfunded, under-equipped, and just plain unskilled he came to realize that such a dream was beyond him. Instead, he listened to other adventurers stories over the years, while trying to prepare himself for adventures when he was of a better age.

After a few years of training, experimenting, and working alongside other explorers, he eventually reached a new level of growth, and finally he could sustain himself. As a Galvantula gijinka, he became better at search and discovery, material retrieval, and above all trapping. He'd even dabbled in a bit of bounty-hunting work, taking down other trouble-making gijinkas to make a little more money, but it was definitely dangerous work. He would eventually chance upon information regarding the Horizon Islands and, seeing his chance to explore undiscovered frontiers, made his way along others to the newfound lands.

Thus far, everything begins at a small, quaint, relatively underdeveloped colony settlement at the edge of one of the islands. Settling into the new life, Gene has allowed himself to start fresh among friendly (often surprisingly friendly) faces, lending his skills to the support and eventual foundation of a greater colony. Soon he would be able to explore the entirety of the Horizon Islands, and go down in history as one of the first to help establish new civilization here.

Avalon29

Name: Bryn
Gijinka Type: Midnight Lycanroc

Reason for becoming a Settler: Bryn had difficulty  in getting into a job that fit him due to his appearance. He was strong despite his small size but it made it hard to get taken seriously. In the end in order to find a job he liked he left to join the settlement and start a new life somewhere else. One where he was able to get the kind of job he wanted without having to worry about being thrown out just because of his small stature.
Planned role in the new Colony: Super terrifying guard, bodyguard, adventurer

Background: Small at 5’0” but stronger than one would Bryn spent his time entranced with the stories of heroes, adventurers, soldiers, and leaders of all kind. He wanted to become just like them. He figured once he evolved he would get a massive growth spurt and be able to do just that. Things didn’t turn out like that however. his growth wasn’t as big as he had expected and he remained rather small.

After that he went around searching to be come a hero, a gather, a mercenary, anything he could find and take. It didn’t work however. He was too small, and often laughed off despite being a decent fighter and his attempts to act like the fearsome lycanroc he was. Eventually he decided that if things weren’t going to work out where he was then he would have to move.  That was when he heard about leaving to the Horizon isles. It was his chance to start fresh where his size wouldn’t matter as much and finally he could at least try to follow his dream. After all unexplored island, new towns on  the frontier. There had to be some kind of adventure there so off he went to do what he could to follow his hopes.

Idlewyld

Name: Azalea Piffypuff
Gijinka Type: Jigglypuff
Reason for becoming a Settler:Super-Ambition! She's going to become the best and most famous idol ever!
Planned role in the new Colony: Idol
Background: OK, she probably didn't think this one through all the way. But the general logic went that it would be best to make a name where she could make an impression and didn't have to worry about the competition. So she came to the Horizon Islands. Once she's set up here, then she'll figure out how to break out worldwide.

Like I said, she probably didn't think this one through all the way.

Steir

Name: Haruka Morinokuni
Gijinka Type: Petilil, but dresses like a Liligant

Reason for becoming a Settler:
To prove she could take care of her own and make good use of her abilities to make a name for herself.

Planned role in the new Colony: Herbalist, Botanist

Background:
Haruka belonged to a family who has made their renown in the fields of botany, her great, great grandparents being founding members of what was now known as the Royal Botanical Society. Life was spent mostly on studying plants and Grass pokemon in the safety of her family's estate, as well as meeting with various important individuals in social gatherings that were mostly dull and uninteresting. She felt her environment at the estate very stifling and did not offer her much chance at growing, and jumped at the chance of signing up when word of a new Colony being founded was looking for men and women to help set it up.

Her parents were surprisingly fine with her decision, allowing the girl to get a firsthand experience at life outside the confines of the estate. With necessities for a life in the frontier packed in a few luggage together with the basic tools for study of plants, Haruka was off into life without any idea of what to expect save for freedom from doting eyes.

Haruka enjoys spending time under the sun as well as dips in fresh water. She is also skilled at making sketches of still life from her experience drawing various plants and pokemon, and has done illustrations to help with her parents' works. She dresses in a manner similar to a Liligant in the hopes people would think of her as a mature woman. Haruka has been taught that one should always help others in need, but ends up getting roped into situation that end up outside of her expectations. She has a tendency to be a little air-headed, and is slow when it comes to matters most people know.

Haruka is cautious of approaching Pokemon individuals possessing the types Fire, Flying, Poison, Ice, and Bug, but would be able to get over this caution if she knows them better. She steers well away from Bellsprouts and their kin, due to what she simply calls The Bellsprout Incident. She also tends to shed a good amount of Stun Spore in her immediate vicinity when she gets too agitated.

Miss Eleanora

Name: Cassandra D'Argives
Gijinka Type: Dragonite
Extra Notes: The wings, tail, and horn are all real.

Reason for becoming a Settler: Cassandra's reason for being involved in the colonial venture is primarily fueled by the ambitions of her family. By bankrolling settlements in the new lands they expect to gain significant advantages over others. After all, there are myriad new resources to exploit and new ways to accumulate additional wealth. As for her being a part of the group actually landing on the new land, well, sometimes you draw the short straw.

Planned role in the new Colony: Treasurer/Quartermaster (Because dragon, she'd totally sleep on a bed of gold if she could.) And it is very important to make sure that every single bit of funding, and all the resources her family shelled out to back this enterprise are not wasted.

Background: Cassandra D'Argives, is a proud member of her family, and clearly possesses the traits that have marked most of the adults of her family for the last few centuries. While all are draconic, not all develop to such a magnificent and resplendent state. She likes to think of herself as being justly proud, really she is a bit arrogant and stuck up. Even prior to the wonderful developments that brought increased physical power and abilities, her family was one with influence and power. The developments that have allowed them to ascend and become draconic in truth rather than simply symbolized by such merely aided them.

Cassandra was raised to believe firmly in the power of money, and was raised to value it above most things. She also values hard work, diligence, and proper procedure, but money really does come first. She's not particularly thrilled to have been chosen to be shipped over to the new lands, and would have vastly preferred to remain in the family demesnes with all the comforts that a rich dragon girl could ever want. But it is her duty and she was chosen by the family, and so here she is. She will at least try to make the best of things.

As the representative of the family who is bankrolling the settlement, she fully expects to be treated as such. And with the official role keeping tabs on her family's resources allotted to the expedition she may well have at least some of the sway she thinks she does.

pdragon

Name:  Alexa and Bessie Sears
Gijinka Type: Incineroar/Miltank
Reason for becoming a Settler: Plan to come over and help with initial construction and labor needs, then use the money raised to build up their own tauros ranch to retire on.
Planned role in the new Colony: construction/laborer and rancher - housewife/farm hand

Background: After the poke-mutation of humanity, and the dramatic rise in physical and elemental ability that resulted from it, human sports and athletic competitions came back in a major way. Once purely dominated by pokemon, human combat sports are now just as popular as trainer battling, with combatants fighting with a mixture of martial arts prowess and raw supernatural power. And for years one of the top stars in this supped up MMA world was Alexa Sears, 5 time GBL (Gijinka Battle League) Heavyweight Champion and valiant hero and role model to legions of adoring fans, dubbed her "Pyromaniacs".

However while the life of prize fighter is glamorous, a flame that burns twice as bright only lasts half as long. Due to the insane physical strain and hazards involved, most fighters reach their prime and retire relatively young, and Alexa is no different. Deciding to go out on top rather than destroy her body trying to cling to glory, Alexa relinquished her belt after one final title defense, capping off the longest reign of her career. And in a heartfelt speech she announced her retirement, along with her plans to journey to the Horizon Islands, spinning it as one final heroic adventure into the unknown, taking her final curtain to a sea of cheers.

By contrast Bessie's life was no where near as crazy or exciting. She was a simple farm girl really, milking 'tanks and wranglin' tauros since she was old enough to put on a pair of boots. Her life was simple, laid back, but always happy, and she even had her own little country beau she had been going steady with for a while. That all changed when the GBL rolled into town for a show one night, and she saw Alexa Sears live in action for the very first time. She had been completely taken away by the woman's strength and charisma and tomboyish good looks, and almost instantly became a fan. Of course she had assumed that was all she'd ever be, until Alexa and a few of her fellow fighters swung by the local bar after the show for a little after party. Immediately the two girls hit it off. They shared a few drinks, a few stories, a few anxious glances...and before Bessie really knew what happened she had woken up the next night not in bed next to her boyfriend, but in Alexa's trailer, wrapped around the champion tighter than one of her big gold belts.

And to Bessie's surprise it wasn't just a one night stand for the prize fighter either, she actually wanted her to be her girl, spent the better part of a week trying to convince her to join her on the road. And terrible as she felt about just up and leaving her old life behind, especially her poor boyfriend, she couldn't say no...and the next thing she knew she was touring from city to city, venue to venue, following her new lover through the prime of her career and getting to go along for the ride for every luxurious second of it. She got to stay in the ritziest hotels, eat at the finest restaurants, and got proposed to in the middle of the ring as thousands of people cheered and chanted "Yes! Yes! Yes!". For a simple country girl it was like a fairy tale come to life. Granted it wasn't all glitz and glamour though, watching her wife get the tar beaten out of her never got any easier than the first time, and life on the road could be exhausting for a girl who had lived her entire life glued to one place. When Alexa began contemplating retirement, Bessie was the one who suggested they start some kind of farm together. After all Alexa had been kind enough to show Bessie her world, she wanted to do the same in return. Plus it would be nice to finally settle down...and maybe start thinking about starting a family...Her wife agreed, though in typical Alexa fashion took it another step over the top by having them move out to the Horizon Islands, wanting to carve out their own niche in the new world exactly as they liked it.
What a thrill...with silence and darkness through the night....

TheFourthShade

Name: Maximus Raines
Gijinka Type: Sylveon
Reason for becoming a Settler:  To become a man worthy of respect, and not a soft person worthy of ridicule.  Max believes that he can't possibly be taken seriously without taking a big chance like this.

Planned role in the new Colony:  Construction and handyman work.  Though he is somewhat skilled at working with wood and tools, he knows that the needs of the expedition may vary greatly from day to day.  Though he longs to be useful for his craft skills, he has no delusions that he may be used for grunt work.

Background:Maximus Raines was born of a family of Eevees that made a (relatively small) fortune on their hard work

Maximus was the seventh child, with a slew of older siblings to look up to.  To put it bluntly, he was a crybaby in his youth, and his family was inclined to coddle him.  If he could not find a job with his winning smile and kind personality (that much was obvious even as he grew), he'd surely be able to manage the business side of the family trade.

Maximus was content with this, especially in his youth.  He learned a bit of the construction and craft trades on the side anyway, of course, but no one seriously expected much of him and he was content with that.  It is easy, after all, to grow soft without challenges.

Maximus did start on the business side of things after a while, but slowly and surely he found himself dissatisfied.  He took to grumbling and complaining.  Even then, before he knew what was wrong, he just couldn't enjoy the ride.

It was one night, while tipping back a few drinks, that his eldest sister, an Umbreon he had always held in esteem, slapped him in the face.

She told him to shape up, that he was going to bring the family down by complaining when he had it so easy.  It wasn't true, but it had hurt at the time, especially as she dressed him down even further when he tried to argue with her.

A few of his siblings overheard, and laughed.

Perhaps worse than merely being an embarrassing moment, the incident left a huge wound on his pride.

Maximus, after all, had had the undeserved pride of a man who had gotten comfortable thanks to the help of others.

However undeserved his hubris was, her words ate at him and he grew bitter  enough to consider a way out.  He may have kept his head down and not complained as much, but he knew he could not stay with his family any more.  He would merely be the soft

One of the recruiters for one of those island expeditions that he had been hearing about happened to be in town that day, and he said to himself, “this is how I can prove myself.”

He stole his tools, what books he could, and left in the middle of the night to join the expedition.  He swore he'd only come back someone better than his family could have ever known or dead.

That too was foolhardy, but he had made too many mistakes to go back on his words now.

thewomboldt

Name: Dr. Tox
Gijinka Type: Dustox
Reason for becoming a Settler: To build new inventions in peace and push the limits of science, and escape his past memories
Planned role in the new Colony: Inventor and Scientist
Background: Dr. Tox at a young age always had a knack for making new gadgets, from little toys to fully powered vehicles and tools. As he grew older he his inventions grew more and more outlandish.

He fell in love with his beautiful Beautifly wife. Who supported him in all his in all his endeavors. They together had a child named Cass who was their smart young Cascoon daughter who would sit for hours learning and helping out Dr. Tox with his work.

Dr.Tox was one day commissioned by Queen Vespi to build a machine that would help increase productivity in side the hive. Dr. Tox agreed to help and started building the machine right away. He spent months calculation the energy and and mechanics of his new project making it perfect. This was the invention to put him in the lime light.  One night while Dr.Tox was in town getting a new power source Cass went down into the Basement and started working on the machine. Whilst Dr. Tox was paying for the new part he could see smoke coming from the direction of his house. He ran off towards his house to discover it was his house on fire. Dr.Tox tried to go in and save his family but it was too late the emergency services came out holding their chard remains. Dr.Tox emotional and inhaling smoke blacked out.

He woke up in the pokemon center having flash backs of the fire a few night before. as he sat up in his bed he saw an advertising poster to journey to the Horizon Isles. He knew at that moment he need to get way from his past and start fresh. Once he was discharged from the center he went straight to the boat with nothing but the clothes on his back.

All pretty great so far!

App be open till the weekend and then I might roll into a start with people free to drop in as is. It's going to be a very relaxed RP so a large cast won't be an issue for me. Though I'd ask people to stick to just one app until we get rolling, though the couple is fine! It works!

SweetSerenade

I was honestly thinking about a male and female Eevee gijinka pair, twins. But if you want it to stick to one I'll figure something out. Was going to toss in a guy to help a bit with that. XD

A pair of twins would be fine!

I guess what I mean is don't make two unrelated characters. I like to see who is gonna stick around before we start adding in alts.

Also I don't care about gender parity at allllll. If it was all girls or all guys then ain't no worry for me.

ShadowFox89

Name: Celia
Gijinka Type: Abra
Reason for becoming a Settler: Celia kinda just fell asleep on the boat over. She was supposed to be bringing a shipment of books for the settlers and head back, but that pile of crates looked so cozy.
Planned role in the new Colony: Book seller. It's what she knows. Just don't ask about her personal collection.
Background: Celia is from a small village on the coast, where the weather is always warm and new faces are always seen. Working at a bookstore, it was the perfect job for someone as laid back as she. Sure, there were the occasional orders needed to be delivered, pickups, cleaning, but that wasn't too difficult. Still, even Celia grew restless. The stories of adventure, the chance to see new places, be the one to write the books and not just read them! But leaving for an adventure wasn't for her, what use would someone who's only interests were sleeping, sex, and books be on adventuring through the wilderness?
She would get her answer sooner than later. While delivering a shipment of books bound for an island colony, Celia decided to take a quick nap before returning. Unfortunately for her, that quick nap turned into a full day of sleep, and by the time she woke up the ship had already set sail. Sure, she could just teleport home... but this was just the excuse she was looking for.

SweetSerenade

Name:  Evelyn Reeves
Gijinka Type: Eevee
Reason for becoming a Settler: Her older brothers are too overprotective, and she’s never gotten to ‘make’ anything of herself in her life. She left with her twin, Devlin, to the new lands, since he’s more of a medical specialist and who doesn’t need a Doctor? Evelyn is more of a Jill of All Trades so she dabbles here and there.
Planned role in the new Colony: She likes to dabble in just about anything, so she’s willing to learn what others have to teach.
Background:
Oh man, where to start, well Evelyn is very firmly the youngest of a horde of eevee children. Her mother is a rather well known Sylveon Gijinka that enjoys traveling the beauty circuits, while her father is an Umbreon that is involved in law enforcement. Together the two gijinka's had a horde of children, 13 total. Evelyn is the youngest, and her and Devlin are the only Twins in the group. Their oldest sibling is a good fifteen years older than them, though not many can tell how old the Reeves actually are. It seems like her older brothers span across the wide span of the Eeveelutionary possibilities. They have every 'volution of differences in their family, her and Devlin being the only ones that have remained just plain eevee types.

Evelyn was always a protected and guarded child, as the only female child, with female eevee being quite rare, she was sheltered - but even more so for her coloration. As a child she constantly tried to find ways to get out and do more. Her brothers were always around her, especially Devlin. Devlin actually took up an interest in being a doctor because of how often he had to patch his twin up.

One would think being the youngest of such a horde of children would warrant her more freedoms and spoiling, but that was actually not the case. Evelyn's father wanted to instill a good work ethic in her, so made sure that if she took an interest in something - she could learn a little bit about it. This was mostly to help her find what she was good at, so she could make a decision on what kind of pathway she wanted in life, Eevee types have a lot of possibilities wrapped around them, and Evelyn just didn't know what she wanted in life. So she wanted to try it all!

As she grew into a curious young woman, she found that she was quite attracted to the boys in her school. Having been sent to a specialty private school for most of her life, her 'high school' years were not spent being a Pokemon trainer - but were instead spent on learning alongside her twin. Boys were cute, she liked boys, too bad she couldn't do more than steal a couple kisses here and there before her brothers would descend like scavengers and pick apart the males she was trying to enjoy her time with.

This lead to a bit of a rebel phase that has lasted even till now, she does what she can to enjoy life - but it seems that her family has other plans for her. She wants to be her own person, she's tired of getting blocked from finding a partnership, she gets it - she's rare - but she wants to be able to pick who she wants, not whatever her parents are arranging. Which is in part why she left with Devlin, she saw the stack of letters on her mother's desk.

While traveling her mother had been finding suitable 'pure' males to potentially marry her daughter to. Evelyn was having none of that, and took off with Devlin the moment he mentioned that he was going to Horizon Isles.

Name: Devlin Reeves
Gijinka Type: Eevee
Reason for becoming a Settler: Expand his horizons, get over heartbreak, avoid an arranged marriage (For both him and his sister)
Planned role in the new Colony: Physician, he likes fixing up people. Even if he himself has horrible habits, like smoking and drinking... and some other things.
Background:
Devlin is the second youngest of a horde of children that his parents had. His mother is a rather well known Sylveon Gijinka that enjoys traveling the beauty circuits, while his father is an Umbreon that is involved in law enforcement. Together the two gijinka's had a horde of children, 13 total. Evelyn is the youngest, and her and Devlin are the only Twins in the group. Their oldest sibling is a good fifteen years older than them, though not many can tell how old the Reeves actually are. There entire family spreads across the evolutionary possibilities for their kind of people. They aren't sure when it started, and it's somethign that Devlin wanted to research, but it just happened.

His childhood was spent mostly keeping Evelyn out of trouble. She was very rambunctious and liked to roughouse and play in places she shouldn't really. She may not remember the incident, but one of Devlin's defining moments - that helped him decide, even as a child, to become a Doctor, was when there was a problem on one of their camping trips. Evelyn had tripped up an Ekans nest, and had gotten bitten - she was badly poisoned and he had to do emergency treatment to keep her stable till she got to a pokemon center.

She has no recollection of this moment, and that is in part why her siblings are so protective of her. She doesn't know it, but they all do.

Going to school was fun, he made it clear he didn't want to be a Pokemon trainer - not like some of their siblings - and instead moved on to getting a higher education, right alongside his twin. Their private school had dorms, and was for all ages, so at any point and time there was at least six Reeve males that were in school with the others. Sometimes they would check out for a term and travel for a bit, Devlin and Evelyn would do the same sometimes, but it seemed that the 'Reeve' issue ran strong in Evelyn. Her brothers knew what they could be like, they were adorable and charming most of the time - it was easy to get partnerships...

Then again it was also to get children, most of the older Reeve males happened to have children by the time Evelyn and Devlin were both mature enough to be looking for partners of their own. Except... Devlin and his twin were not free like their siblings. Devlin was told he was allowed to have dalliances, even relationships, but he was to behave himself because there was a potential of a marriage contract with a family from another region. He continued going to school, and fast fell in love with a stunning Skitty that he was all swept up with.

Something happened while he was away on a trip with Evelyn, and his darling Catherine was no longer waiting for him. The Skitty gijinka had all but up and vanished, and that's when Devlin took to drinking and smoking - despite the medical profession he was pursuing. It was late one night that he overheard his parents talking about how they had force Catherine away for the betterment of their children, since they had found a wide variety of possible suitors for their twins. All their other children got to choose their pathway, but Evelyn and Devlin were bound by their parents wishes.

That was until Devlin announced to his family he was going to Horizon Isles, it was new, it needed people - and he was going to go to 'heal his heart' so he could look towards the future. Little did his parents know he has no intentions of coming back, and he took Evelyn with him. Now he can just hope for a good future, and to find something to bide his time with. He's not completely prepared for how crazy Evelyn is going to get with it just being the two of them, but he's also more than happy to let his twin have a chance at the future she dreams of... no matter where it might be.

Question, would a island native be out of the question? I know you probably don't a lot of them. Defeats the purpose of having to have settlers hehe. But I have an idea and figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

Premier

Not accepting Island Native's as that would be a bit of a spoiler for the plot I got planned!

SpiralSpider

Hello everyone! I'm interested in joining this game if you are still accepting.

I have ideas for characters under the following pokemon:

Goldeen
Mimikyu
Sneasel
Suicune (if Legendarys are allowed??)
Typhlosion
Zebstrika

I'm not sure which one to go with but I am kinda leaning toward Mimikyu at the moment.

Name: Naamio
A name was scribbled down once in the ship's ledger but hardly anyone remembers. Due to one shipmate's fondness of him, others had come to call this strange one 'Naamio' which someone heard meant 'mask' in some other language.
Gijinka Type: Mimikyu
Reason for becoming a Settler: Perpetually hiding one's appearance doesn't leave many feeling comfortable in your presence. Naami had become accustomed to moving from place to place when it seemed he had outstayed his welcome. Thankfully, his hard work earned him a reputation of being dependable and handy so a writ of recommendation came easily enough from most of his temporary employers. It didn't matter how many years he had remained in a place, he still remained an outcast. Moving to the colonies was a chance to start again and maybe get things right for once.
Planned role in the new Colony: He worked as a carpenter on the ship in order to earn his passage fare. Always deft with his hands, Naami could maintain sails as well as the masts that held them. He had raised barns and sewn clothing in previous employment but was willing to try his hand at anything if it could earn him a decent living. Being useful was his main source of happiness, since it was usually the only way that others looked kindly upon him.
Background: The story Naami implies upon anyone who asks is that his body is horribly scarred or deformed so he wears his disguise as a kindness to their eyes. Though anyone familiar with the odd Pokemon Mimikyu would suspect otherwise, and the odd black "smoke" that came out of his tattered clothing at times seemed only to confirm their suspicions. He had relocated so many times that no one could trace his story back far enough to his humble roots. Being an orphan, even his childhood was lonely. He can hardly remember back that far but what he can recall is fear and rejection without the blanket he first used to hide his true form. Now he wears layers of costume, in case someone became cheeky enough to try to pull his off. Rarely he will expose his natural arms if needed for a job.
Extra Notes: No one really knows Naami's actual gender but most assume and use male pronouns due to the way they dress. Naami's voice and mannerisms don't strongly imply anything in this department and few people bother to get close enough to them to ask.
