@keelan  Thank you. :D  Most of my trouble is I'm used to pathfinder and some things such as wealth is getting me crosseyed. :)  I did finally figure it out, in so far as I can tell. Ended up with a total of 22 wealth.

A civilian born wire-mistress who was inspired to join the academy upon meeting Konoha's beasts. It's not quite there stat/feat/skill wise but I'm trying for a speed focused fighter. She probably won't do much damage at once but will be bouncing around the battlefield.

ShadowFox89

 For wealth, just go:

1st level: 2d4+misc bonuses (occupation and if you took windfall)
After 1st: make a profession check. For every 5 over the DC (DC being your wealth DC by the by), gain a +1 to wealth

Profession also passively increases wealth every time you gain a level, depending on how many ranks you have in it. I would suggest looking for the D20 Modern SRD.

Hm, it's possible... and I know PF well, very well in fact

Honestly if I had time to rebuild PF for Naruto d20 I would, but I wouldn't even fathom it at this point XD

Basically think Fast Hero for the starting class, Livewire as a class for you (wires after all :3) and probably ninja scout... get Weapon Finesse likely as you'll favor Dexterity, and just have fun otherwise ^_^

If you need help, feel free to ask questions.  Also you'll have a Jounin 'captain' of your team who will be there in case there's problems adjusting to the system or if things simply go poorly... working on ideas for her as we speak (preference between futa or female would be appreciated)

Hexed

@ShadowFox89  I did eventually find it on the SRD website. :D  And that does look like what I managed so guess I got that right at least. Thanks!

@keelan I'd thought that at first, but couldn't quite get the ninja scout requirements met so went with Taijutsu Master. Which is kind of fitting with Gai and Lee as her role models. :D
Although. You compacted the skills so... Does ranks in professional count as all the skills listed under it (With a base choice selected perhaps?) or just one?

<.< >.>  Battle wires are cheats! They are ranged so dex already works for to hit, and they specify using dex for damage too so weapon finesse isn't actually needed with them at least.

As for your question... Preference wise it doesn't matter to me... but a Futa Jounin Captain could lead to funny shenanigans.

Keelan

Yes: The group skill counts as ALL the ones under it

So if you need Treat Injury and Life Sciences at 6 ranks each, then 6 ranks in Medicine is all you need.  d20 Modern was so back-assward with skills I had to collapse them to be even some semblance of useful...

And your Jounin... I've also always wanted to make an Aburame girl...

Wolfy

D'aww.....And I was hoping to make my character someone who was picked up by Enma and raised among the monkey 'kingdom' before being deposited in Konoha to become a ninja and Chuunin. :p

But Hyouton is good too....

Hexed

quick question!

Is DR 1/chakra or +2 Armor a better choice?

As for the Aburame girl... Don't the bugs like eat big chunks of their bodies including eyes? If so... lets hope you focus on blind fighting feats. :P

ShadowFox89

That's just fluffwise. And +2 armor is a better choice most of the time.

The bloodline you're looking for for an Aburame is the Symbiote one. Page 788 of the latest pdf.

Zaer Darkwail

Nah, the insects live under the skin and do not eat their bodies and live in symbiotic relationship with them. Albeit it's quite creepy method but they have very potent jutsus (chakra eatting bugs and tracking purposes).

Keelan

Yeah, the 'eating eyes' thing is more fanfiction headcanon IIRC; it's simply a symbiotic thing.

Unfortunately, it doesn't creep me out, but it does other people, so I've never actually gotten a chance to use one... hence mentioning it so I could gauge if people were bothered at all.

Hexed

Huh. Learn something new everyday.

Personally I don't see a problem with a Aburame girl. Although I will let you know know that said female bug user will forever be called Skitter at least in my mind.

I've just got techniques to work through so I should be close to finishing up.

Zaer Darkwail

Yeah, not bothered with Aburame clan jounin female; would be quite interesting actually :).

Wolfy

If Zaer can help me make a profile, I'd like to join. ^0^

Zaer Darkwail

Well, feel free post in here or PM me details what you want for your char (inspirations if any is good to mention so I can build char according your desires).

Zaer Darkwail

Hmmm, Keelan, is it possible to play as a summoner? Also I have thought I could play also as medical shinobi. Although he would be male char but he would not be against futa pairings (MxM he is against).

Keelan

Um, a summoner could be possible, yeah.  I forget but I think Kuchiyose no Jutsu is a rank 8 technique, so I suspect that it'd be something you'd just be starting to do at level 8, assuming you take no LA in Bloodlines or Race... and male is fine that's cool, and I'm not into M/M myself so no worries ^_^

ShadowFox89

There will be plenty of females in the game anyway :P

Keelan

If anyone has Skype and/or AIM I am able to be contacted after about 5pm EST easily enough, just shoot me a PM.  I can help with ideas and possibly mechanics for making chars.

At the moment I'm hearing Wire-Fu, Kunoichi-no-Jutsu (Seduction), Medical/Summoner, and Ice+Sage as proposed ideas...

Wolfy

Zaer, if you'd be kind enough to build a profile to fit my Ice + Sage Character, I'd appreciate it.

As far as inspirations, I'm not really sure what you mean. Lol

Also, rather than being picked up by Monkey's, I think I'd rather have my character adopted by Dragons instead, Ice Dragons to be specific, so that she can eventually work into being a Dragon Sage. :3

If Keelan is ok with that

Zaer Darkwail

Wolfy, as mentioned not too familiar with sage stuff but I try :P. Anycase here is my char and I work on Wolfy's char later (I can build a ice user who has build towards becoming summoner of dragons and ninjutsu user). With inspirations I mostly asked what sort shinobi are you; taijutus, genjutsu or ninjutsu user (or any Naruto series char which take inspiration). Overall as ice users ninjutsu would be key skill anyways so went with that. Then go any advanced classes which help become better at ninjutsu.

Anycase, I plan build your char so you can qualify to enter sage as next level (it demanded 12 skill ranks so could take first level in sage class at 9th level). Also took blood pact with dragons (Ice type) so can summon those and as sage you have affinity to them (than toads like Naruto had). Anycase I work the char later in mythweavers (any idea for name for your char or pics to add in?) as making mine took a good +5 hours (and gods forbid scrolling through technique list in PDF is painful, thank god for technique search engine which I found).

Zaraki Ryohou
Wealth Rolls

Starting Wealth (1st level); 8 (+1 occupation, +1 genin, +1 from profession)
Later level upragde rolls; 12+9, 19+10, 9+11, 5+12, 2+13, 10+14, 5+15
Math; second level roll is 21 vs 8 so it gives +2 besides +1 from profession for total 11 wealth at 2th level. Third level roll is 29 vs 11, being +15 or higher gives +3 and +1 from profession so total 15 wealth in 3th level. Fourth level roll is 20 vs 15, so +1 wealth and +2 from profession for 18 wealth in 4th level. 5th level roll is 17 vs 18, no wealth increase. 6th level roll is 15 vs 18, no increase. Seventh roll is 24 vs 18, a +1 and +3 from profession for total 22 wealth. Final roll is 20 vs 22 and so no increase.

So far not done any gear purchases but plan add them in near future (once done with Wolfy's char also).

Background

Zaraki Ryohou is past fourth shinobi war a growing talented medical shinobi in the world. Even genius some say. However his origins are widely unknown (expect to perhaps ANBU or other high professional information diggers), he was not born in shinobi village and according some medical tests he holds no shinobi ancestors whatsoever. Yet he had awakened his chakra somepoint, learned shinobi arts and then he appeared somewhere after fourth shinobi war ending in serious skirmish between two shinobi groups and undiscriminating fashion healed and cured both members of the conflict and somehow managed to talk down the both parites cease hostilities for now and he was ten years old.

Zaraki had worked diligently as traveling shinobi who more and less acts as traveling doctor, surgeon and medicine man for the poor and impoverished and never asking rewards or payment for his work. But people remember and when winds blow well they are generous and overall people whom he cured and found businesses gave him share of their business and it has resulted Zaraki grow rapidly wealthy in earlier years in his career.

However, he is still to most shinobi a enigmatic figure as he never talks about where he learned his craft originally. As most his techniques show they had been self-learned or from manuals which he had acquired with wealth or taught by shinobi from other villages. But he himself calls no shinobi village home and he so far has refused exclusively join any villages despite invitations, his own words about being; "I will not choose draw lines on ground in regards whom I help."

However he is not above to join any shinobi squads as medical shinobi and he gladly works for any villages (sort on mercenary contract). However he has one absolute rule which he never breaks; he never kills anyone. He can disable, knock out or injure them, but never kill. Even in cases he uses harmful genjutsu or injures foes, he heals them and patches them up so they survive. He abhors killing and he seems always suggest a non-lethal means to solve conflict if possible.

Besides his good loving nature as traveling surgeon it's rumored that he is quite skilled gambler and it's also rumored he has certain....perverted subtle nature and somebody swears he once heard (said while drunk) one reason he wanted become doctor was to "So I could able tell women undress and grope them and do some questionable tests with their bodies with their full consent on it!" However so far none his female (nor male) patients have any complaints from his services nor anything bad to say about him.

ShadowFox89

Keep in mind,  sages are supposed to be rare. I'd plan on a different prc with the hope of getting sage.

Zaer Darkwail

Well, Keela gave approval for Wolfy, no one is sage this point (need 12 ranks and max we can have with no LA is 11) but the requirement is either to have a sage mentored them or held sage artifact and used it. My guy though is going stick as medical expert until qualifies as exarch (no sage nor summoning stuff as planned as I did not want to be half-assed medic shinobi).

Wolfy

I planned to have my character be mentored by an actual Dragon, much like Naruto was mentored by the Toads to learn Senjutsu...So technically a 'sage' would have mentored her. :3

And yes Zaer, Ninjutsu user works more than anything else. ^0^

Considering the Ice Bloodline, she'd have an affinity with both Water and Wind Chakra Elements, along with Ice.

Zaer Darkwail

Aye, I keep the wind and water jutsus also in mind :). But not today, tomorrow I work on your char Wolfy.

Vex

Is there any interest in having another player on board? I haven't played Naruto d20 in a while, but I have to admit, reading the thread and the character discussions does make the prospect tempting.

I had an idea for a Fuinjutsu specialist who doubles as a Puppeteer. I thought having a few tanky or trap-ridden puppets on the field might help with our current group, as it appears we favor more ranged tactics thusfar. Fuinjutsu feels like it goes well with Puppetry, as a way to enhance puppets and bring them out without having to carry them around, and also allows her to help others with utility seals and make weapons, armor, and other chakra-infused items. Likely starting out as a Smart or Charismatic hero, and probably on the eccentric side, if mostly because I could see a lot of potential fun in animating a small puppet (or even a few of them) with Kengakuryokou and using ventriloquism to pull off some amusing scenes outside of combat.

That said, seeing as you're likely to be starting in Konoha, I'm pretty tempted to try out a Hyuuga clansman. I'm not usually much for melee-centric characters, and tend to prefer support like crafters and medics, nor for Doujutsu bloodlines, but the Jyuuken style is a pretty unique one that I could actually see using, and their Byakugan has plenty of utility uses to keep me happy. I've always liked the Hyuuga's sense of grace and elegance as well, so I think I could get into exploring the lore of the clan. Probably a fairly stoic and serious character to contrast our more kind and gentle types, tinged with a haughty arrogance that the clan is known for. A Fast or Dedicated Hero into Taijutsu Expert and maybe Ninja Scout. Nothing too fancy in the levels, but the White Knight gives it some unique flavor.

I'm siding slightly with the latter at the moment, but I'll either one could be fun. That is, if Keelan is still interested in having another aboard.
