Unknown moderations?

If threads/posts are misplaced or against the rules, and a moderator moves them or deletes them, would it be too much to ask to PM the user that wrote the original thread or post?

Since the user placed the thread or post there in the first place, (s)he must've assumed that to be the right spot, and therefor an update over PM would be applicable.

These unknown moderators seem to happen a lot lately... They outright confuse me :(

You mean like the apology that's sitting in the thread right now that you mentioned it in?  ;)

SOP for staff is to PM when posts are deleted with where and why.
