My new Win10 computer  came with a month's 'free' McAffee.  I didn't buy it, among other things this is a dedicated gaming computer and I only go to Steam with it and it also seems to screw up some of my games functionality.  However, the dammed thing keeps popping up basically adds and crashing my games when I'm playing.

How the hell do I get that program actually off my system??!!??!one!

I haven't had to fight with McAfee on Win10 (because I refuse to install Win10).  But it was a pain to get rid of on my 8 machine.  If memory serves, I had to use something like this:  http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/mcafee_consumer_product_removal_tool.html

I recall it taking me nearly a day to remove all traces from my brothers PC, even after I installed Kapersky. I had to do several sweeps, wipes and msconfig to remove the McAffee from the start up menu. My dad thought he was doing a good thing by adding the McAffee for my brother, but they (McAffee and Avast) seem to be more of a virus that what they supposedly protect.

I can't recall the exact procedure, but it did involve me having to use Kapersky to wipe out the vestiges of McAffee.

and touches my dreams. - Harry Chapin

Revo Uninstaller has worked well for me, and that's just with their free version. Just make sure to run a very thorough scan, and delete all the traces that it digs up. Mind you, you do need to be certain of what you're doing when you use the program, but when it comes to computers, I think they all work on Faerie magic and problems are caused by gremlins; yet, I can make Revo Uninstaller work like a charm. It's very intuitive, from my perspective. it just takes a lot of time, and a lot of processing power, so don't expect to do anything else while you're ripping out every last shred of whatever you're removing.
