King Tristan was most popular amongst his people.  He freed them from a tyrant of a ruler and offered them freedom to earn money without excessive taxation.

With his harem he had them all put under a contract.  One they signed voluntarily.  In return for satisfying his every desire, no matter what it may be, she would be rewarded with a monthly allowance, all the food she could eat prepared by the best chef's, servants at their disposal around the clock and a room in the castle.

Mail order bride

A wealthy but lonely young man decides to order his wife from Russia.  The woman he can choose from are incredible and their bios make them even more alluring.  As he was looking into them they were looking into him as he was the one who ordered the catalog online.

The woman gets here and once she thinks she has the money she begins to ignore him, cheat on him, insult and abuse him, and sells of his prized possessions.  However he has been watching her close and knows just what he will do to turn the tables and make her his slave.  A slave with a large debt.

One day the king is in the kitchen with the first of his harem.  They both were having a glass of wine.  When distracted by a loud sound they turn away momentarily.  When nothing else happens she takes a sip of her wine and after gasping for air for what seemed like forever she died on the floor.

The King new it was meant for him.  He tested his glass of wine and it two was laced with poison.  Maybe the culprit wanted them both dead.  But why?  Money?  Even upon his death none of them have a claim to it or the thrown.

Revenge?  Maybe from a member of the former ruling party that escaped execution.

He went through all of the possibilities and all had some merit but jealousy seemed to be the one he thought was behind it.  He goes away on a trip and returns to find all of his woman----gone.  None of the security or the servants new where they went.

He receives a letter that if he wants his harem back he needs to pay twelve million curios or about five million dollars.  Each.  He thought it was a set up anyway as he figured they were all dead and now he was the last one.

Were does it go from here.  What are the killers motivations.  How does it manipulate the others to getting her way?  What does he do to the criminal?
