This is to discuss topics that are outside the scope of other threads, such as the thread about Israel/Hamas or the Ukrainian War thread. The focus of this thread is on the sticky situations that develop around the world, such as the pressure the People's Republic of China is exerting on Taiwan, the recent recall of Saudi Arabia's citizens from Lebanon, the various issues Turkey has had in joining the EU, etc. This is more a meta commentary, and specific issues will be spun off further into their own threads. 

Please keep discussions civil and please try to avoid the spread of disinformation per this board's rules. It is understandable that sometimes we accidentally post thinking we're sharing a legitimate source, but do try to avoid clearly biased blogs and other sources of potential disinformation.
