Prince Harry has helped get Mermaids get much more support and recognition. Mermaids has been under fire by TERFs(Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists) and the far right. Such figures as Graham Linehan(IT Crowd, Father Tedd), Robert Webb(Mitchell and Webb), and various right wing pundits and bigots and Julie Bindel and the whole TERF/Right Wing intersection have been doing everything in their power to remove funding for this children's charity and to get it shut down. Mermaids will likely get far more funding and resources now, which is amazing to hear. Mermaids is a charity that focuses on giving resources to and helping children who are gender nonconforming or transgender as well as their families and communities, as well as helping children with mental health issues and who are contemplating self harm or suicide.

The baby rhino at Zoo Miami is the first of its species born through induced ovulation and artificial insemination.

A greater one-horned Indian rhinoceros named "Akuti" delivered what appears to be a healthy calf earlier this week at Zoo Miami. Mother and child will be given time to bond before meeting the public.

"This is only the second successful birth of this very rare species in the zoo's history," Zoo Miami said in announcing the birth on Wednesday. "However, what makes this birth truly historic is that it is the first successful birth of this species anywhere in recorded history to be the result of induced ovulation and artificial insemination."

You could, try to have the laws rewritten, so that he can go back to school, and sue his accuser and the school of course. What else!?

Theoretically, if all the bills pass as proposed, Missouri state law would allow a student kicked out of school for sexual misconduct to appeal their position and sue the person who accused them, the administrators who performed the investigation, and the school itself.

It’s an interesting trend, considering that a powerful lobbyist named Richard McIntosh allegedly proposed many of these changes soon after his son was kicked out of Washington University in St. Louis, and that McIntosh’s wife sits on the same administrative court that would be set to handle such appeals.

Here's an article I found on the NRA's troubles. They look multi-faceted, with cash at the heart of much of it. Membership has declined in the last two years. The student protests after Parkland may have had an impact, etc. The article does say the NRA is a victim of its own success. But then there's the Russia side. The NRA is being heavily investigated as essentially a spigot by which Russian money was poured all over Republican races in the United States and propping up many NRA activities. This is highly illegal, at least the campaign-finance side.

So, on one side their membership dues have dropped a good amount while their under-the-table finances seem to have been cut off. Now they're squirming.

On one hand I can see this being done for investigation purposes and see if maybe there was prior contact between victim and the perpetrator that the victim might not remember (or didn't know there was any connection at the time), but I don't think this is the way to go about it.

It looks like Twitter has been monitoring journalists, as Jack has been appearing on right wing podcasts and speaking to right wing crowds he's been speaking of gathered data he uses to paint the left as insular and an echo chamber with the right as open to all. Despite typically any polar opposite groups typically avoid overlap normally. Twitter has seemingly been trying to keep tabs specifically on journalists, tracking who they talk to and follow. While it was kind of expected it is worrying to see how Jack is using this hidden information twitter has gathered using methods currently unknown with unknown parameters for how to identify who is what.

After keeping a teenage girl in sexual captivity for more than a year, Michael Wysolovski will not go to prison.

Yupp no prison time for him.

Wysolovski was arrested in June 2017 after FBI agents and Gwinnett County police found a 17-year-old North Carolina girl who had been missing for more than a year in his Duluth home. She was malnourished, had ringworm and suffered from back problems because she had been repeatedly been held in a dog cage, her father said in a victim impact statement Thursday.

Wysolovski had been previously indicted on charges of rape, aggravated sodomy, cruelty to children, false imprisonment and interstate interference with custody.

To be fair you can't convict the president. You have to impeach the president first. He technically already is a felon in New York and was around the time of the election. They just can't arrest the president.
