Merits & Flaws

Merits
Coldly Logical - 1pt Merit - While some might refer to you as a “cold fish,” you have a knack for separating factual reporting from emotional or hysterical coloration. You may or may not be emotional yourself, but you can see clearly when others are clouding the facts with their feelings (-1 difficulty on all related rolls).
Early Riser - 1pt Merit - No one can explain it, but you seem to have the ability to work on less rest than your fellow vampires. You always seem to be the first to rise and the last to go to bed even if you’re been out until dawn. Your Humanity or Path score is considered to be 10 for purposes of deciding when you rise each evening.
Eat Food - 1pt Merit - You have the capacity to eat food and even savor its taste. While you cannot derive any nourishment from eating regular foods, this ability will serve you well in pretending to be human. Of course, you can’t digest what you eat, and there will be some point during the evening when you have to heave it back up.
Eidetic Memory - 2pt Merit - You remember, with perfect detail, things you see and hear. Documents, photographs, conversations, etc., can be committed to memory with only minor concentration. Under stressful conditions involving numerous distractions, you must make a Perception + Alertness roll (difficulty 6) to summon enough concentration to absorb what your senses detect.

Flaws
Infertile Vitae - 5pt Flaw - During your Embrace, something went horribly wrong, causing your blood to mutate under the stress of dying and rising again. All those you try to Embrace die. No matter what you do, you may not create any childer. However, your blood can still be used in blood rituals like Thaumaturgy and the Vaulderie, or for any other vampiric needs like making ghouls.

Character Personality: Arcadius is charming, friendly, and a very good listener. Arcadius is also a bastard, a con-artist and a trickster. There are approximately three things she particularly cares about; power, money and information. Everything else tends to be in service of those, she knows how to make friends, but doesn't tend to let them actually get close. Maybe that's why she's led everyone to think she's male, or maybe its just for the fun of it.

Character History: Arcadius isn't her real name, of course, she was actually born under the name of Olivia Anderson. She started using the alias Arcadius Medea a fair few years before her death, though. She has been switching between personas for years now, adopting whichever one suited her purposes the most (which, for the last couple of years has been 'Arcadius,' the more commonly male persona). In fact, she has been so committed to the act, that the only cainite that currently even knows her true gender is her Sire. 'Olivia' is an unassuming housewife, the kind of person who can go nearly anywhere without suspicion, polite and modest and 'shy.' Arcadius is the flamboyant and friendly type, fast talking 'his' way through interactions and getting the trust of those 'he' wants to exploit. This is the persona that generally deals with any other criminals, since they tend to take men a bit more seriously

Arcadius spent most of her adult life flitting from place to place, targeting the rich and bringing their own scandals down around their ears, blackmailing them with her information for money. Or simply destroying them if they weren't clever enough to pay her to keep her mouth shut. Her ability to weed out sensitive information and her utter lack of hesitation in using it when push came to shove inevitably drew the attention of the Nosferatu. She had managed to keep away from the human police, but it's difficult to stay out of the eyes of the Nos, especially when you don't even know they exist. She was finally tracked down in Las Vegas and turned by the Templar Rothchilde, who cared far more for her skills than her personality. She has been learning this new way of life with the same fervor that she usually went after information with - possibly because the new talents she has found will let her do that even better than before. But the time for learning is over, and it's time to move on. Her sire has kicked her out of the proverbial nest and towards a group of similarly new kindred. Others might have been bothered by it, but frankly she was just glad he hadn't decided to 'dispose' of her the moment she stopped being of use.

I don't want to edit it as it is up for review, but I noticed that I put Demeanour for Demeanour which is not overly helpful :P It should have been Soldier.  I also don't mind dropping/changing the Celerity if it feels a bit gamey as I was waffling on that and never did give a good background explanation.

You can make edits if you like--just let me know once you are done & it's ready for review again. :)

PixelatedPixie

I fixed things up, as I noticed that I had completely missed that City Gangrel have their own set of disciplines.

I fixed her Demeanor.  I specified that she is City Gangrel.
I swapped a point of charisma and manipulation, as charisma probably fits my image better.
I removed her Celerity merit and replaced it with 5 points (equal amounts) in Calm Heart and Blush of Health.
I swapped Fortitude (  :'( ) for Obfuscate.  So she now only has clan disciplines.

So assuming I didn't screw up anywhere else (entirely possible, it has been awhile since I played VtM) she should be fixed/done and ready for review.   Other than deciding on a haven and where her resources come from at least.

Sorry about that.

Sparrowhawke

I believe Arcadius is now ready for reviews

Character Personality: Chal was a monster before his embrace, though he never got around to killing anyone before someone got around to killing him. He enjoyed inflicting pain on others, a pleasure he has turned to a passion since he was made a vampire though he is not in truth a sadist. He has a brutal and savage joy for his new existence, thriving in the Sabbat and giving his all to it in turn.

Character History: Isaac Kinkade was born just after World War 2, and was unremarkable but for his fine features. He worked as taxi driver for a few years when he caught the eye of who would eventually become his sire.

The vampire visited him, bound, bled and tortured him, depriving Isaac - or Chalcedony as he called him - of his vitae until he suffered harsh withdrawals. Only then would his to-be sire release him and allow him to take what he wanted... needed.

It was a pattern that would repeat itself for several years, his to-be sire escalating his game to a cross-state cat-and-mouse, baiting Chal to pursue him for his fix, suffering at his sire’s hands when he finally caught up.

When they hit Las Vegas, his sire finally took the last step and Embraced Chal and put him through the Creation Rites while others of his pack made sacrificial offerings of their own ghouls or neonates. This was intensely traumatic for Chal, but he proved himself to be a valuable resource once sense had returned to him, aiding his sire and his pack as a getaway driver.

His sire has left him behind for now in Vegas, under the command of Isabella.

We have a pack Ductus--Marcus King.

As I mentioned up-thread, Rummy's spot was guaranteed since I invited him directly, but now that I have reviewed his sheet, we have his PC done up before deadline, which is really helpful for others wanting to play because it means we can establish PC connections. Prospective other players are welcome to request character connections with King for their backstories, though these connections will need to be run by both me and Rummy Tum Tum for approval. Rummy will not edit any of these connections into his sheet until I make final sheet selections for everyone else--this is to prevent him having to constantly edit/re-edit.

As mentioned, I'm only taking 5 people total, and people engaging to create connections with Marcus are likely to increase their chances of getting picked, because it shows a good group game spirit.

Suggestions if you want to tie your character to Marcus:
- Consider how your PC met Marcus. He does have a casino, after all!
- Consider if your PC has common interests with Marcus. (Hint: A prospective pack priest could easily establish a connection via learning Occult or helping teach him Occult)
- Does your PC have a good relationship with Isabella? How do you think Marcus feel about that? Would your PC try to help him get close...or hinder him?  ;)
- Does your PC have a good relationship with Marcus's Sire, Sofia? It is eminently possible your PC could have met Marcus because Sofia identified them as a potential 'good fit' for her childe's pack.

These are just some suggestions for a connection. There a lot more you could try out--don't be afraid to get creative!

Also, to clarify:

Question: My sheet is up for review, meaning I can't edit until I get feedback from you! Can I still ping Rummy for a Marcus connection & run it by you to include in my sheet, or is my sheet stuck as-is?
Answer: Yes, absolutely you can still do that. Once you have a connection idea that Rummy and you both like, you can run it by me & we'll include it in the review as we talk. I don't want to unfairly penalize people who had sheets going before the Ductus was approved. :)

Also, for anyone who is thinking 'wtf, how do I get into the 1970 mood,' I have made a very small post that could hopefully help peeps get in the mindset of the USA in 1970. It's not meant to be wholly accurate or anything, but it's just meant to sort of help get in the mood of things.

Worth noting that the Nosferatu will be piggybacking on ARPANET with SchrekNet in '71, so Nosferatu characters will have a sizable tech advantage when the chronicle moves forward in time for a bit. <_<

Typical Nossies. >.<

Anyway the 1960s were absolutely insane.

Is a very disturbing, but fascinating read.

I tried to post my character sheet and concept tomorrow if I can.

I hesitate to create my character between the two pictures :

or

Country Grangel or a clan with Presence.

For the first picture, I think about a monstrous flaw generated by a sadist Tzimisce that used Viscissitude on my character.

For the second picture, I think perhaps about a tatoo artist or/and a transexual (man-> woman)  that works on construction sites. A character that oriented with the sexual revolution, the transexuality.

TheHangedOne

I've never done a Sabbat game before, so this would be interesting. I imagine ghouls would be right out; does not seem like a Sabbat thing, as they have Revenant families.

So I basically have two ideas here: One is to make a Revenant from a family that has strong Occult ties, and could be... I dunno, maybe up for consideration for Embrace, or is otherwise just in charge of day time security and stuff. Plus, Revenants do live for a damn long time.

The other idea I have would be a non-combat oriented Malkavian Oracle (as in they have the actual Oracle merit) who acts as the Priest of the group (having almost no combat skills simply means I can be really good at the Priest-stuff, and knowing our enemies. Oracles have always been fun for me). And besides, who needs to knife or shoot some gangster when you can just convince them that they're a bear, their friends are trout, and they are a hungry bear that needs to eat the trout (props to anybody that gets the reference).
A&A's and O&O's *Status: Here and there | Games: Aiming for punctuality*
"In prosperity, our friends know us; in adversity, we know our friends."
"In the ocean of knowledge, only those who want to learn will see the land."
"Before you roar, please take a deep breath."
Check out my poet tree!

Damn, we have to wait 7 years to watch Star Wars in this game. That's the real shame.

RedPhoenix

Wait. There are no Star Wars fans.

I take it back the 1960s were paradise.

At the moment, I'm not allowing ghouls or revenants as PCs since the chronicle focus is a Sabbat pack itself. However, that Malkavian Oracle concept is very intriguing. :)
