...apparently not. I have never heard the term before and looked it up. My expectations of seeing cars sliding majestetically around in tandem on a big parking lot to the tune of "Cannonball Run" were not quite correct.

Mmmno. Sadly. Two reasons for it. First of all, I get dizzy trying to keep track of all the aristocrats and their conspiracies. Second, aristocrats generally grate on me like sour milk. I truly don't care which of them are sitting on the throne at any given time, who are currently in charge of the Magic Thingie or who is getting married to who this week. My heart goes out to the simpler fantasy characters, like the sergeant or the wanderer or the guardsman, who has to deal with what happens in front of him or her and don't spend time thinking about their destinies or lineage. I too went through Raymond E. Fiest, Silmarillion and the three first volume of Game Of Thrones, but I ended up with Terry Pratchett and his tales of smoky inns and worn down streets, and weary keepers of the peace with rusty armor and threadbare boots. I can still live with a crafty noble or two in a good story, but that is not where my sympathy will be focused.
