D&D 5e Exandrian Troubles (Looking for new players to D&D, help offered.)

Let me be up front and say that I have NO experience being a DM, but I have recently bought the DMG from D&D Beyond, as well as the Monster Manuel, AND the Mordekadian's Tome of Foes, so I have a few books handy with access to the wiki for whatever else we might need.  So with that in mind, I'm more opening the floor for discussion and hopefully to attract someone that has at least some experience in being a DM to help me run whatever this ends up becoming.  Having said that, I DO have a basic idea for some starting information, but as for WHERE this ends up being set, it'll be within the world created by Matthew Mercer and the gang from Critical Role, set about fifty years after Vecna was defeated by Vox Machina.  Tal'dorei will have changed to some extent due to the fact a literal GOD was on the wrong side of the Divine Gate, but overall things are as they've always been.  At any rate, I'll be getting links up to the Campaign setting that I've started to put together as well as a Discord for the group, among other more E relevant threads, so look for updates periodically.  See ya soon folks!

UPDATE:  It turns out in order to look at the D&D Beyond stuff I have up, you have to make a character, so if you just want to glance at the stuff you can do a filler character real quick, just delete your filler character once you're done.  Sorry for the inconvenience.   :-[

Starting Level:  1st Level to 3rd, so no matter if this is set in Faerun or Exandria, you're going to be starting out at the bottom of the barrel, both for my own sanity, but also to give our new players a chance to get used to doing this at all.
Content:  Any official content is acceptable.  I don't have a lot of the source materials, having only recently got my hands on D&D's Dungeon Master's Guide, the Player's Handbook, as well as the Monster Manuel and the Mordekakein's Tome of Foes, but I'm willing to have Unearthed Arcana and the like, AS LONG as you can provide whatever information is required to understand what you're capable of.  But as I said, homebrew stuff isn't alright, especially since I'm so new to this whole DM shtick.   :-[
Character Concepts:  While we need to officially decide where this is taking place before anything substantial can be made here, you can at the very least have a name, gender, picture, and a general idea of what you're hoping to put together.  Any help you require I'll do my best to provide.  :D
Race:  As long as you're humanoid and its not homebrewed stuff, I won't be too picky about this.
Stats:  Roll for stats please.  Any 1s can be rerolled for a better stat outcome.
HP Limit:  Rolling for HP is also preferred, BUT 1s can also be rerolled.  Having said that, you can take max HP upon 1st level just so you don't get one shotted right outta the gate no matter what your stats happen to be.  ;D
Starting Equipment/Gold:  I'm not going to be a stickler about this, BUT I don't want people running around with everything and the kitchen sink either lol.  So standard equipment is fine, and gold isn't going to be a huge deal either, BUT I will be pricing items and the like as I feel the situation warrants since something like war time would naturally jack up prices on even common items.  Still, gold should be your standard level as well per character creation rules, so don't be carrying around a pouch full of gold coins if you just got off the streets or something.  :P
Discord:  I have a Discord, and I am more than willing to set up a room for us to chat and the like, but I'll also be putting up an OOC and character thread before doing any IC stuff.
Group Size:  Because this is my first group game with an actual system involved, I'm gonna be limiting this to four, five tops, and this won't be first come first serve either.  I'll be looking for a willingness to help each other as well as a rich, thought out, and diverse cast of characters concepts that could become full blown people with goals, motivations, and plenty of plot potential to boot.  Race and class also needs to be diverse as possible please and thanks.  NO MIN MAXERS OR META GAMERS NEED APPLY.

I think that's everything for the time being.  :D  I don't have a starting date as of yet, but I'm hoping, HOPING to have both a partner and a much better idea in a few days, a week at the most.  Starting dates will be figured out later on as the situation changes, so there's no hurry to get sheets completed is all I'm saying.  At any rate, see ya for now guys and gals.

Character Roster

Character Guidelines

Rolling for stats:  I'd prefer if you guys use the E Dice Roller.  Results of 1 can be rerolled, but otherwise take what you get everyone.
Character Sheets:  I'm not talking about the character information, but rather the official sheets you'd put together for your typical D&D game.  Those DO need to be linked in your character information once you start putting those together.  I'll put together a character sheet for E here before too long, but Mythweavers or D&D Beyond is more than acceptable as far as your actual stats and stuff are concerned.
Pictures:  Character pictures should be right aligned, at about 300 for height.  I'll still ask for you to actually describe your character of course, including eye color, hair color, clothing style, etc, but a picture isn't required outright.
Plot info:  While we WILL be expecting a fairly well thought out history for your respective characters, any plot relevant information you can PM to myself and Keys as you guys and gals desire.  You can be from any place in Exandria, not just Tal'Dorei, but if you want to have a long, drawn out revenge plot like Percy did against the Briarwoods, but don't want the other players to know about it just yet, feel free to tell myself and my assistant DM, Keys.  ;D  Otherwise, everything else should be present and accounted for.
Alignment:  Everything from Lawful Good to True Neutral is fine, BUT no outright Evil characters please.  Alignment can and WILL be changed depending on a character's actions, so don't decide to use a coffin as a battering ram and not expect to be penalized for it.

I can join, if you don’t mind my slowish rate of posting.  I preference would be Tal’dorei but I am good with whatever.  I have a few character concepts I would like to play. One recommendation if you don’t mind the suggestion. Start at lvl 3.  Everyone gets their subclass there.

Heya Crash, and welcome to the party.  :D  I am pretty active, but as long as there's at least one round of posts a week before more DM related stuff from me, I won't complain about our more slow posters.  And I changed the level to give a range from 1st to 3rd, so hopefully that'll set a few minds at ease.  Thanks for the advice though!

Having a couple experienced players helping out those less so is more than fine, so by all means I'm happy to have you Snake.  :D  I want this to be more of a team effort than everyone kinda doing their own thing, so the more you guys work and help each other out, the easier this'll get.  Speaking of, I DO plan to get a Discord thing set up today for everyone to assemble as time allows, so be on the lookout for that.

That aside, we have at least one person saying they'd prefer this be set in the world of Exandria.  Unless we get votes for the Forgotten Realms, we'll be taking a more Critical approach to the setting.  :P

btw a starter level of 3 is better; that way the chars aren't being one-shot by the basic enemies. That and they're just starting to differeniate themselves via their subclass.

I need to do some stuff on this end, but as soon as I'm able, I'll get the Discord ready and go from there.  And I'll be updating the first post, but this won't be first come, first serve, but rather those with the most interesting concepts for characters.  Variety would also be appreciated wherever possible, and as far as races are concerned, as long as you're humanoid and its not homebrewed, I won't be picky.  Goblins to Kenkus, knock yourselves out I say.  ;D

drat this looks as thought it has likely filled up already hasn't it <.< should have poked my head in when I saw this on break at work instead of waiting to return home. Welp, if there is room I am in and more than happy with any setting.

As I've said before, this isn't gonna be first come first serve, so by all means Wind, you're welcome to stick around.

I think I'm just gonna go ahead and go for an Exandria setting if everyone's cool with that.  Otherwise, you're welcome to stay or go as you wish, but it'll be fifty years after the end of Campaign 1, with nothing from Campaign 2 coming into play, at least as far as we're concerned at any rate.  So Vecna was defeated, the Chroma Conclave's been destroyed, and peace is more or less restored to the world.  Guns and blackpowder is gonna be at least present, controlled for the most part, but criminals will naturally have access to such resources as you'd expect, because of course they would.  Laws don't matter to such people in our world so why should they in a fantasy setting?  Lol anyway, start getting your concepts going, but again, there's no rush guys and gals.

Five people tops though, just so we're clear, but I'll start with four once I get an actual campaign thing put together over on D&D Beyond.  See ya!
