I don't know when next I'll have a proper keyboard in front of me, but luckily I kinda already know what I'm gonna do, so I'll be able to knock Dr. (insert some name I haven't decided yet) right out.

Just for that, his personality is now shifting a few points towards 'Dr. Cox'.

Alright. Is there a place to post character profiles or are we not at that point yet? (I may have had a partially finished write up completed for several months).

Downfall347

Merry Christmas everyone and a happy holidays. I have below a rough draft of my character (Still trying to find a good picture)

Name: Gen Amarok
Player: Downfall347
Age: 25
Nationality: Formerly Water Tribe, Currently a Citizen of Republic City
Sex: Male
Orientation: Straight
Concept: Extremist turned Wanderer

Challenges: Troubled Past (Former Equalist), Family issues, Secret Identity

Description: Gen was born from good water tribe stock. Tall, lean, and physically dexterous he has taken care to form his body into a weapon. He keeps his black hair trimmed short and doesn’t spare any kind of ornamentation or distinct clothing which make him memorable or even really noticeable, which is of course the point. He wears baggy street clothes and often wears a hood to cover his water-tribe-blue eyes. The one distinctive marking he has are his hands and forearms which are covered in a twisting network of scars left behind from electrical burns.
Personality: No one would exactly call Gen personable. In fact he seems to make an active attempt to make sure that nobody likes him. He is standoffish, quiet, and generally pretty stubborn. However, a good eye can spot a mask when they see one, and if anyone tries to get to know him they would find Gen to be a… well a pretty odd guy. A wanderer by trade and purpose his standoffish nature is by design, intended to prevent attachments from slowing him down. However he is possessed of a natural curiosity and urge to stand up for underdogs which has often led to him sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong. He doesn’t trust easily, or at all. But for those few who somehow manage to earn his trust, he would burn kingdoms to help them.
History: Gen was born just after the death of Avatar Aang in the Northern Water Tribe. His mother was a local healer, his father a fisherman, and although they were not wealthy, they were happy. But, his father wanted more for his growing family, and so he uprooted the family and moved them into the slums of Republic City. When they left they were bright eyed, and excited about the prospects which a large city could afford them. But life wasn’t so kind to them. His mother’s water healing, a highly sought after skill in the tribe, was less appreciated in the city, and she ended up using her talents as an assistant at a small clinic. His father got work in the port, but the days were long, hard, and ultimately, deadly. Gen’s father was killed when the local triads committed a raid on a future industries shipment and he was caught in the crossfire.

At the age of 8, Gen’s life became a nightmare. His mother was unable to afford to feed them well, let alone keep a roof over their head. Gen took to the streets where he started to steal. A natural athlete, and inconspicuous as a non-bender, he managed to avoid police and triad attention for a few years. It was hard, but they managed to keep a small apartment in the filthiest bowel of the city, and they managed to eat enough to stay alive. They even found a shed of that old happiness. Then, once again, everything fell apart. He was thirteen and he was out one evening looking for marks when he saw a well-dressed man leaving a diner. It was a simple pass grab, one he had done a dozen times, but this time when he grabbed the guy’s wallet the man snatched him by the wrist. His name was Furlo, a member of the triad and a powerful fire bender.

The bender decided to make an example of Gen, so that the other street urchins would understand that this was now his neighborhood. He lightning-bent a bolt of electricity at Gen, who threw up his hands in self-defense. The bold seared his palms and carved burn up his arms. He blacked out only to come to in his mother’s healing tub. She was hysterical, but Gen was furious, and young enough to believe he was still invincible. Once he was healed he defied his mother’s pleas to just go with her back to the northern water tribe, and went hunting. He spent months following rumors, stealing, and working to figure out where and when Furlo would be vulnerable. Finally he found out that Furlo was supposedly coming back to the neighborhood to collect protection money, and that he would be visiting the clinic his mother worked at. When Furlo came, he attacked. Things went… poorly.

Gen was strong, but untrained and combating three benders, one of exceptional skill. They beat him down and dragged him into the streets with every intention to yet again make an example of him. That was when Lord Amon saved him. It was over so quickly, and suddenly a man was standing above him, holding out a hand and whispering of a day where he would have the strength to put a stop to injustice like this. He followed Amon, only looking back once to see his mother crying at the clinic’s door.

The next two years were spent in training, working to master Chi Blocking as Lord Amon commanded. He also became skilled in the Taser glove, and the bola. By the time the equalists made their presence known, he was a skilled warrior. Although guilt plagued him. He fought against the benders, yet shielded his mother from them at the same time. Turning attentions away under the pretense that a healer bender was likely better than the criminals who polluted the city. He became trusted, even fighting the Avatar once before her friends saved her. When the Avatar revealed Amon’s true nature, and the Equalists were disbanded, Gen found himself once again adrift. Too ashamed to return to his mother’s side, and having nowhere else to go, he set out to wander the world. Shame followed him as he toured the fire nation, then up through the earth kingdom, even once visiting the eastern air temple, looking for some purpose he couldn’t quite name. When that something eluded him, he returned to Republic City at the age of 23. He discovered his mother had left for the water tribe four years prior, assuming her son dead like her husband. Gen never tried to correct that belief, instead taking to life working odd jobs, trying to keep his stomach full and a roof over his head. But still that lack of purpose haunts him, and the knowledge that deep down, underneath all of Amon’s words and lies… on some level, Gen enjoyed being Equal.

Skills: Talented Chi-Blocker, martial artists, skilled thief

Strengths: Dexterous, Adaptable, Free of Attachments, Anonymity
Weaknesses: Stubborn, Guilt ridden, conflicted, nerve damage in arms.

In that case, I will also type up a rough draft.

Name: Connor Tsera
Player: Angiejuusan
Age: 32
Nationality: Earth Commonwealth
Sex: Male
Orientation: Bisexual
Concept: Combat Medic

Flaws: Oath (never take a life unless it would save another), Heroic, Curious, Code of Honor (never attack first, never attack from behind, always offer aid when you can).

Description: Connor is light and slim, with shoulder length brown hair and shining turquoise eyes. He keeps himself clean shaven, and prefers an outfit of loose fitting shirts and pants, and usually lighter colors. He has no distinguishing marks.

Personality: Connor acts kind and empathetic to most, but isn't above indulging in asshole-ish behaviors, especially if someone isn't telling him what he needs to know. He is highly driven and will not hesitate when it is time to act. He is also well aware of his own personality flaws, often calling attention to them when he's indulging in them, but he often lets them get the better of him.

History: If you want blood...Connor's seen plenty. Blood on the rocks, blood on the streets, every last drop. He was born with a great intellect, and he made full use of this capability. He read mountains of books, soaking in every page, learning every scrap of knowledge he could. When he could be persuaded to get out from underneath said mountain of books, he was a pretty active kid-he loved sports.

It was a pretty peaceful life, all things considered. But he grew up fast. When he was merely 15 years of age, his father passed away from disease. Not a world-ending tragedy, but one that Connor carried with him for many years. 7 years later, he and his mother moved to Republic City, seeking new opportunities. Connor became the apprentice to a healer, learning to work miracles on the human body. He had no mystical powers to aid his healing, merely mundane talent-and he held it as a point of pride.

Then came the Equalists. The soldiers of Amon. Connor had become an experienced staff-fighter in his home village, but he swore an oath of non-conflict, believing his hands should only be used for healing. This belief was sorely challenged when his mother, a powerful Earth-Bender, was killed by the Equalists. Driven into a fury, Connor took his staff and hunted down the one who did it.

The fight was lopsided-when actually faced with someone who could fight without bending, the soldier, Chiro, folded like a house of cards. But Connor wasn't satisfied with just disabling him and turning him over to the police...he wanted Chiro to suffer. Chiro begged, and pleaded. "I'm sorry!" He cried as Connor broke his arm. "Well that brings her back, doesn't it?!" Connor responded.

"Please...don't..." Chiro begged, as Connor slammed him up against a brick wall...only for Chiro's body to go limp in his hands. Too late, Connor realized what he had done. The Republic City Police Force found him kneeling over Chiro's body. "I didn't mean to kill him..." He said, as the police dragged him away.

The jury found him not guilty of murder, sympathizing with Connor's tale of lost family. But he couldn't forget the panic and fear on Chiro's face as he died. With nothing left in Republic City, Connor left to wander the world, seeking who knows what. Redemption? Forgiveness? Perhaps an interesting death? Who knew? Not even Connor knew what he was looking for.

Many years later, word reached him about the many events that had happened in Republic City. Confronted with the stark reality that life didn't stop, Connor decided that Republic City needed him, for all his flaws, for all his mistakes, the City needed him. He fashioned a new staff of oak, to symbolize that he would endure, no matter the trial. He has come to New Republic City. What will he find? He doesn't know. But now he knows that he is home.

Equipment:
Weapons: Connor carries an oaken staff that he is highly skilled with. This is his primary weapon-broken bones can be mended, and that's the worst his staff can do. He carries a "Peacemaker" revolver as well, which is only drawn when he is prepared to take a life in the defense of an innocent.

Other: Connor carries a satchel that is filled with medical supplies and equipment, enabling him to carry out several medical operations while 'in the field'. This kit includes, but is not limited to, scalpels, forceps, bonesaw, braces and splints, some common antidotes to common poisons, and a bottle of whiskey for antiseptic and anesthesia (shot for you, shot for the wound). It's not a full kit, but it's enough to 'patch up' someone enough to get them to a proper hospital.

Skills: Exceptional healer, skilled at bo staff fighting, persuasion

Strengths: Iron will, endurance, medical genius
Weaknesses: Trusting, overly compassionate, short temper
Avatar is by Lemonfont. Will remove it if he asks me to.

I was wondering if you'd allow lavabenders? I imagine others would try to learn it after seeing Bolin use it

(Close approximation)
Name: Tiala Leto
Player: A Japanese Dane
Age: 28
Nationality: Republic City/Northern Water Tribe/Earth Kingdom
Sex: Female
Orientation: Bisexual
Occupation: Water bending style Lava Bending teacher.
Concept: Lava bender/Earth bender prodigy

Flaws: Selfish, Overconfidence, insensitivity to pain (Which is both a plus and a minus, but considering she flings lava, being able to feel your feet melting might be a good idea).

Description: Tiala is a rather tall woman, standing at 6'3. Her body is toned by year of earth bending. Her skin is darker than the average citizen of Republic City due to her heritage. She has waist length dark brown hair that is almost always braided.

Personality: Tiala is for the most part rather easy to get along with. She is a stern teacher and demands the utmost of her students due to the nature of her work. At the same time, she is also so immensely protective and caring for her students. While being selfish for the most part, the Lava bender has been known to go out of her way to get her students out of trouble, and the last thing you want is a tall fit woman who's able to melt the ground under your feet to chase you.

History: Tiala Leto was born in the Northern Water Tribe to a young Water bender mother and a earth bender architect father. Their union hadn't been without issues, but once both sides of the family got to see the little new that their union had produced all object was quelled. Tiala grew up most of her life in the water tribe, expecting to be able to at some point water bend. However, it was during one of their rare trips to Zaofu where her fathers family lived that her bending showed. Having gotten lost playing outside the town Tiala had been caught in a landslide. Presumed dead, a search party was sent to recover the body of the then 7 year old girl. However what they found buried deep under the mountain of displaced earth was a girl who had found her path. Tiala had erected a tent of solid earth blocks to protect herself from the landslide, and in the ensuing days she had expanded the area to get herself oxygen. Deprived of light, Tiala had at first been clumsy, but had soon found her foot, and within the first 2 days of being buried, she had learned a very basic form of the earth sight that legendary metal bender Toph Bei-fong had used. From this point on, Tiala alternated from living in Zaofu, learning earthbending and living on the north pole being schooled in academic subjects. Having heard of Lavabending, Tiala had started early to develop er own style, which proved hard as she had no real teacher. But by remembering the movements she had seen her mother and fellow benders perform, Tiala developed her own style of waterbending, a more fluid style than the one used by the ally of the Avatar, Bolin. Her style focused on fluid movements like the ones found in waterbending, her lavabending forming large tentacles, sprouts and waves of lava. Finally deciding to live life her own way, she left Zaofu and the water tribe behind her and went to republic city to teach her own style of Lavabending.

Equipment:
Weapons: Surprisingly, a future industries shock glove.

Other: Tiala carries a crystal gourd having from her shoulder by a strap. The gourd is made of a crystal that is sufficiently dense and heat insulating to allow her to carry lava in it. Her hand sometimes rests on the gourd, moving in twirling motions to keep the lava liquid. Each day she reliquifies the contents of it.

Skills: Close combat nonbending martial arts. Cooking skills. Lavabending, earthbending master.

Hope it's cool :D
I have taken the Oath of the Drake
"--But every sin...is punished, but punished by death, no matter the crime. No matter the scale of the sin. The people of the city live in silence, lest a single word earn them death for speaking out against you."

Cuchulainn

Name: Gopan Song
Sex: Male
Age: 25
Orientation: Straight
Concept: Metalbending Police Officer

National Affiliation and Ancestry: Republic City born and raised

Appearance:
Hair: Black
Eyes: Bright Green
Height: 6’1”

Description: Gopan has the typical appearance of the of an earthbender with his vivid emerald eyes, pale skin and shock of thick black hair that he keeps reasonably short but untamed. It is quite typical to see strands sticking out at odd angles. He has a hard and athletic physique forged by his intensive training at the BeiFong Metal bending academy and his training at the Pro-Bending Gym.

Personality: Gopan’s entire personality is defined by his career, he is a cop. His life’s goal is to protect the citizens of republic city and to clean up it’s streets. That said he is a bit of a hot shot continually getting in trouble with his superiors because although he is absolutely ruthless in his hunting of the rogue’s and vagabonds of Republic City he would not risk the lives of the citizens to do it. Sadly the same cannot be said to the citizens property. That is not to say that Gopan is all business, he does have a lighter side, with a good sense of humour, although it’s usually directed at people’s expense.

Background: Gopan grew up the son of an esteemed Pro-Bending Champion, in the playground arguments of who’s dad could win in a fight there was never any doubt that it was Gopan’s. He absolutely idolized his father, going to every one of his fights and watching him train at every chance he got.  His mother of course wasn't too found of her son getting heavily involved in pro-bending  but it was a good bonding experience for the two and it made them happy so she didn't do much to discourage it. They were in a sense the perfect family, until the night of the pro-bending championship. It started off beautifully, Gopan got to watch his father and his team absolutely trounce they’re opponents and win the title. They went on to celebrate with his team at a local tavern Gopan sitting beside his dad the entire time as him and his two team mates reminisced about their various fights, regaling the crowd that had assembled with blow by blow accounts. All of a sudden this guy started mouthing off to Joseph, saying these ugly things to him, wanted to prove his manhood by taking on a pro. So his father stepped up and beat him, he humiliated this local tough guy so badly that he left with his friends and later when they Gopan left with his parents he followed them home, waiting till they cut through an alley and stabbed Gopan’s father in the back.

Gopan can barely remember the weeks after his father’s death, it’s not easy for a child seeing their parent bleed out in front of them and his mother wasn't in much of a position to help struggling as she was with her own grief. No, his help came in the form of his father’s pro-bending team mates Ryuu and Tikaani, they were always a big part of his life growing up but after his father’s death they became true surrogate parents to Gopan. That’s why few where surprised when a month after his father’s death that this 9 year old boy turned up at the team’s dojo demanding training. I mean with a every father figure he had being a pro-bending champion it was to be expected that he would want to be one himself. Training quickly became the chief focus of his life, when he wasn't in school or studying (and sometimes when he should have been) he was training either his martial arts or his bending. Also he didn't simply explore the physical aspect but also the spiritual side of bending, anything that would help him improve his skills. Then when he left school and everyone expected him to join one of the various teams seeking an earth bender he instead joined BeiFong’s Metalbending Academy. He jumped in with the same drive as with his previous training which allowed him to graduate top of his class and quickly helped him gain a job within the metalbending police force of Republic City.

Strengths: Driven, dauntless, incorruptible, pristine physical condition
Weaknesses: Stubborn, daddy issues, overly self-critical, over thinking.

Skills: Earthbending, Metalbending, Hand to Hand Combat, Detective Skills, Knowledge of Past Pro-Bending trivia

Weapons: Standard issue Whipshot and retractable wrist blades, Earth Glove given to him as a gift.

Will you be wanting images for characters? and if so drawings or real life...or both?

Well since everybody is putting theirs up. I'll more than likely have Lin's son, AKA The next badass generation of Beifong, out either later to night or sometime tomorrow.

Karma

I'll probably be able to read these through a bit later tonight. Glad to see everyone's raring to go! :)

apygoos

id be interested in either an earthbender or an airbender

I prefer the profiles to have images, yes, but I won't require it. I know how hard it can be to find the one. I like all the profiles! My next project for this game is to create a "state of the world" post featuring updates on all major canon characters, bending practices, and the each nation as a whole. Is there anything beyond those basics that you all would like to see detailed?

Some knowledge about how 'modern' medicine works would be nice...I know, I'm forcing it because I have to play Team Medic...

I'm totally joining this. I had been trying to get a Legend of Korra group roleplay of the ground for a little while now but even when I got enough interest to start something no one actually posted in it after they joined. So I was left with a dynamic story in mind but no one who was posting to have any of it happen. I would love to Help you GM as well if you haven't already picked someone for that. I GM a lot of games mostly real life table top games or games on roll20. So I have some experience making a good story. I also have two characters in mind. One who is an insane inventor/doctor who can only lightening bend. He can see the small electrical impulses in electronics and change them. As well as the ones in human brains. So far the best he can do is make you pass out but he could learn more if he wanted to. Then use it to remake the human brain in a robot or use it to control people. Depends on which he decides is more fun or a better use of his talents. The other character would be a guru who is hell bent on freeing the terrorist Zaheer and working with him to continue the work of the red lotus. He spends a lot of time in the spirit world and has lately been trying to find a spirit that he is similar enough to to combine with. He thinks he can do what the avatar did and become a lesser avatar. Not anywhere close to her power but a mix of man and spirit non the less. He can't bend any elements right now but is very skilled at martial arts to the point where he can hold his own against most benders. Even If neither of these two are the main villain and I can't CO-GM this I'm still gonna eventually type out full sheets for theses guys and join the game.

Karma

Sounds great, vatovie! Once I get the state of the world established I'll be starting work on the antagonist, and at that point I'll contact both you and Jugg about co-GMing. I might end up playing the antagonist myself.

vatovie

Awesome I'll probably get both of those characters I mentioned fully made later today.

Juggtacular

Name: Lu Ten Beifong
Player: Juggtacular
Concept: Beifong Heir, Earthbending Wunderkind, Pro-Bending Champion
Troubles: Beifong family legacy, Impossible Expectations(pro-bending), likes to smoke(a marijuana-type drug) and drink to handle stress
Sex: Male
Age: 18
Orientation: Heterosexual
On’s: Foreplay, Oral, Anal, Public Sex, Inebriated Sex, Rough Sex
Off’s: Violence, Blood, Scat, Watersports, etc...

National Affiliation and Ancestry: Earth Commonwealth(Zaofu)

Appearance:
Hair: Black
Eyes: Red
Height: 6'3
Weight: 220lbs

Description: Tall. Lu Ten is a very tall individual, topping out at 6'3 which is enough to loom over most people he meets. And due to a literal lifetime of constant training, he is extremely well muscled for his height and sports a very fit and cut physique. He has a serious look about him almost all the time, unless he's smiling and joking. However that doesn't take away from his apparent good looks. Too often he has girls on the street double taking when they see him and he's been told that he's "pretty" several times.

His hair is spiky and unkempt for the most part, but he sports a ponytail that he takes very good care of about halfway down his back. His eyes are unique in that they are a noticeable, nearly "glowing" vibrant red, due to a very rare form of Albinism.(Apparently Toph passed on her genetic tendencies) Lu Ten sports a scar over his right eye, running from just over the eyebrow down to just beneath the cheekbone. He tends to dress in Zaofu fashion, so his clothes almost always have some metal accessory or element to them. Aside from that he just tries to stay trendy.

Personality: Lu Ten seems to have inherited a mixture of personalities between his mother(Lin), aunt(Suyin), and grandmother(Toph). During training or combat situations, he mostly maintains a very serious demeanor, trying his hardest to overcome the situation and focusing almost solely on that. At times though he'll slip out a joke or do something silly in the middle of a fight. Outside of training though, it's very easy to see Toph in him, and he's just a joker who likes to have fun; although he's nowhere near as mean as his grandmother was. And his dedication to family and friends is unwavering. He'd die to save any one of his friends if it was necessary.

Background: Anybody who knows Lin Beifong or even just her story knows there was a long period of time in her life where her mother, her sister, and therefore the entirety of her family was not privy to anything in Lin's life. In fact for a while she herself thought she'd never speak to any of her family again. It was during this time that she met a man named Jai. A simple man who joined the Police Force because he had nothing, but became one of it's most outstanding officers because he felt he had so much to prove.

It was a strange love the two shared, as oftentimes they seemed more interested in work than each other. But it worked for them, love blossomed, and one day Lin took an extended leave because she was "working undercover" in another district. Nine months later she had Lu Ten. For eight years Lin and Jai raised their little boy, discovering at a young age that the Beifong blood seemed to flow strongly through his veins. Even as a toddler he was Earthbending and he took to the training as naturally as breathing. Lu Ten was eight years old when Kuvira tried her final push to take over the Earth Nation; by then his mother had begun mending what was broken in their family so Lin and the Metal Clan knew about him. Grandma Toph apparently always knew with those vines of hers.

After Kuvira's defeat and capture, Lu Ten got to go live in Zaofu for a while, then after that, he got to stay with Toph...although that wasn't as fun as he thought it'd be. By the time he was 14, he'd received training from some of the best Earthbenders on the planet. So when he tried out for the Junior Pro-Bending League, it wasn't a huge surprise when he made the team. He became the starting Earthbender for the Zaofu Lion Turtles, and like a rocket their team shot up the ranks with victory after victory. They won the championship their first year. The Lion Turtles continued to win with Lu Ten heading up the team. For three years they held the championship, and suddenly he was too old for the Junior league and he was moved up to Pro-Bending proper. New teams, new venues, new challenges.

He faced them all and continued to live up to his family name. He took the Zaofu Badgermoles all the way to the finals before an outside injury resulted in him missing the game and his backup choked. They won next year though after a hard fought battle. This year he expects more of the same, but maybe something more will happen. Something more exciting than throwing clay discs at people, or sitting in silence in the swamp with Grandma Toph.

Strengths: Master Earthbender/Combatant, Physical Peak, Charismatic, Beifong name, Good Cook

Skills: All forms of metalbending(including Earthsense), Anti-Chi Blocking techniques, Pro-Bending

Weapons: Whipshot, Retractable Wrist Blades, Circular Shield
