$5,000 to own a virtual tavern in a game?

Who do they expect to buy this stuff?

And even if it's pre-alpha game play, this doesn't look great..

Not to mention the fact that it's PvP-on All the Time (they plan to ask folks NOT to grief the newbies, guess how well that's going to turn out).. this is going to be a bomb of epic proportions.. (as opposed to being The Bomb of epic proportions)

Gnr. Is Paizo still appearing to distance themselves from this? I have been getting that impression of late and I'm not sure if it's wishful thinking or not.

I am very grumpy about PFO. We were promised something very shiny, and what we were handed appears to me to be a pile of steaming ordure.
I'm sure there are people who will like it, and I expect it will be very nice by their standards.

I, however, feel as if I have been lied to. :/

That's just crowd funding as opposed to an in-game store isn't it? And $5,000 for a tavern isn't without precedent there; the Project Eternity kickstarter sold all five of it's tavern rewards at $5,000 a pop

That's their shop, not kickstarter or anything...

It's basically an own-brand kickstarter... they even call it "crowd forging".
