- - - - - Welcome to Purgatory - - - - -

Although the lands seem familiar, Purgatory is merely a shadow of the realm of the living. Here, the souls of those who have passed reside. Some forever wandering the gray lands, never realizing the truth or perhaps denying the fact of their deaths. Others eventually come to realize what has occurred. That they are no longer alive, that the world is duller than what they remembered, there is no buzz of life. Memories of their past begin to flicker through their minds, their last few days on Earth, the days that had had a lasting impression on their memory, life as they knew it...gone.

With this realization, one becomes aware of things they had not noticed earlier. Unknown abilities are slowly discovered as hidden talents stir. Abilities, powers, talents that they had not possessed in life but now wield in death. Or is this just another life?

The existence of angels and demons slowly come to light, along with the knowledge of the unending battle between good vs evil. A battle that has lasted for centuries; now, a battle that draws in the Nephilim as the two factions attempt to fill their ranks. Only two paths are open as escape routes from the dreadful life in Purgatory. To become one of the Angels, or to become a Demon.

Whispers of one called the Iurus Formator drift by, the Oath Maker. Rumors say that she can grant any wish, any request for the right price. Will you ask for power? Perhaps request something that you were never able to obtain in life? Would it be money? Or perhaps even love?...How much will you pay? Is it worth the cost of your life...?

Ask yourself this: Just how close are you to losing your humanity?

Will you Fall or Ascend to the front lines of Armageddon?

- - - - - Setting and Summary - - - - -

Purgatory is a space for dead souls to wander until they have become either Angel or Demon. It is a world similar to Earth in appearance and nature - just grayer, duller, missing that spice of life since nothing is truly alive here.

While the Nephilim will have memories of Earth, this is just a space in time. Think of it as a sort of mirror to the modern-day world, but not as colorful, not as vivid, not as real

Nephilim are dead souls, the only way to leave the endless cycle of Purgatory is to either Rise to a Cherub or Fall to an Infernal. However,  some Nephilim may not realize that they have passed on while others are just in denial. These people (most likely just NPCs) would probably go about living as they always do. As in, an everyday usual boring schedule. Whether it be going to work, visiting the bar on the way home, etc. For the Nephilim who come to realize the difference they will begin to discover their own new abilities, the different factions, and the battle.

This is a game that focuses on the good and the bad of humankind. Basically, will your character be able to withstand greed, envy, and evil intent that all humans are born with? Will your character be able to rise above themselves and resist temptations, to make the choice that is deemed morally 'right' and be righteous?

The story will mostly revolve around the Rise and Fall of the Nephilim. Will they lose their humanity first, or their lives? Then once they have Fallen to Infernals or Ascended to a Cherub, will they be able to continue in this fashion? Or will they slowly begin to change, and eventually turn to the other side?

Nephilim will be able to explore various aspects, from things that they were not able to obtain during life, to things that they cannot possibly obtain at all. This means it can be as simple as wanting to be loved and popular, to being invisible. Depending on the deal, its price will vary. Nephilim can pay with their life (something small can cost as much as a few days, while something big can cost years) or trade in one of their abilities.

••• Applications will not be a first come first serve basis. Characters must first be approved by at least two of the three GMs. We are looking for players with a certain level of literacy as well as a consistent post rate. As such, we ask that players provide enough in a post to give others plenty to work with in response. An estimate of 4-5 paragraphs regularly.

••• It is common courtesy that if you find you will not be able to continue the game for whatever reason, or need to take a break, please let us know instead of just disappearing without a trace. This is rather frustrating and can also hold up the game.

••• As for post rate, posting one to two times a week is perfectly fine - though more is always encouraged. We value quality over quantity so don't expect new posts every day.

••• This game is being placed in the Extreme category as a precaution. While there may not be any EX sexual content it is always an option. If anything, this is mostly just in case there are violently gruesome scenes (such as deaths). However, if there is any NC content, please keep in mind that the Non-Consensual act is in character only. You must get permission from the actual player beforehand and include the agreement in a PM to one of the GMs to keep us informed.

••• Please be courteous to each other and most of all, have fun!

The Nephilim
The Nephilim were once said to be children of Angels, however, in Purgatory they are merely the souls of the deceased. Here, they wander, 'living' in a world very similar to that of Earth and delving deeper into themselves as they search for a path to move on. Still susceptible to the usual flaws of a human, the only difference between a Nephilim and a human is that they have already passed on. As such, Nephilim will find that they now possess minor abilities and eventually become aware to the fact of Angels and Demons. Whether they move on to become an angel or a demon...this is something that only time can tell through their chosen actions.

All Nephilim have a maximum of 100 years lifespan and two minor abilities. Their humanity begins at 0 at the beginning of the game and will shift as the game progresses. Depending on their actions and choices, as well as ultimately their own thoughts and desires, their humanity can drop to -50 or raise to +50. If a Nephilim reaches -50 humanity before death (as in they haven't used up all 100 years of life yet) then they will fall to the side of the Demons. Likewise, if they reach +50 before death then they will be raised to the side of the Angels. However, if a Nephilim dies (ran out of life) before their humanity has fully reached either side of the spectrum, then depending on which side they were leaning to more then they will go to that side.

Once a Nephilim has become angel or demon, they can edit their profile with the necessary changes. However, a Cherub/Infernal still have the ability to be swayed to the other side. An angel can become evil and an Infernal can grow a heart. Of course, there are limits to how many times they can do an act of good/evil and get away with it. Mana is kept track of even if they themselves do not realize it. Upon reaching three fouls, an Arch Angel/Demon will visit with a warning. At the fourth, the Seraphim/Prince arrives to personally put an end to them. This is ultimately death with no return and will be the complete end of that character.

Angels
Those who protect all that is good and righteous, Angels are pure and holy messengers who attempt to show the Nephilim the silver lining no matter how dark a cloud may be. While Angels do not lie outright, shading the entire truth is a common practice.

  • Seraphim - There is only one Seraphim. The Seraphim is the highest position within the order of Angels. She is in charge of the entire faction of angels and all that goes on within it. Like the Prince and Iurus Formator, the Seraphim is Omnipresent and can be in multiple locations at a time. Also, she is able to know where all of her angels are at any given moment.
  • Arch Angel - There are two Arch Angels who work as the Seraphim's Right and Left hands. They are her most trusted and are second in power only to the Seraphim herself, though the Right and Left hand are equally matched otherwise. Occasionally, the Arch Angel will be sent with tasks, such as the warning of a Cherub when they have accumulated three Mana.
  • Cherubs - Cherubs are the lowest ranking within the Angel hierarchy. These are basically Nephilim who have been changed to that of an Angel.

Demons
That of nightmares and horrors both unspoken and unknown, the Demons represent all the sins possessed by humankind and are forever trying to bring these feelings to the surface. To show the Nephilim their darkest desires and inner demons, but to help the Nephilim realize that a part of them actually enjoys the power at their hands, the reckless inhibitions...that is a demon's main objective whether it be done with trickery, bribery, and deceit - all is fine as long as they are able to fulfill their goal.

  • Prince - There is only one Prince. The Prince is the highest position within the order of Demons. He is in charge of the entire faction of demons and all that goes on within it. Like the Seraphim and Iurus Formator, the Prince is Omnipresent and can be in multiple locations at a time. Also, he is able to know where all of his demons are at any given moment.
  • Arch Demon - There are two Arch Demons who work as the Prince's Right and Left hands. They are his most trusted and are second in power only to the Prince himself, though the Right and Left hand are equally matched otherwise. Occasionally, the Arch Demon will be sent with tasks, such as the warning of an Infernal when they have accumulated three Mana.
  • Infernals - Infernals are the lowest ranking within the Demon hierarchy. These are basically Nephilim who have been changed to that of an Demon.

Iurus Formator
The Neutral party, the Iurus Formator or Oath Maker, is a mystery to all. All that is known is that there is only one Iurus Formator at any given time. Other than that, the Iurus Formator is mostly known for her ability to fulfill any 'wish'...for a price. It does not matter who she is approached by, Angel, Demon, or Nephilim, she will grant all wishes and make a deal with them.

There is only one Iurus Formator, she works only for herself and while some of her actions may be done for good or for evil, everything is done for her own interests and benefits. Like the Prince and Seraphim, the Iurus Formator is Omnipresent and can be in multiple locations at a time. Unlike the rest, the Iurus Formator is the only one who knows just how close a Nephilim is to Rising or Falling. She alone is able to see a Nephilim's level of humanity and also keep track of how much life they have left.

Lost Souls/Wraiths - NPCs
A lost soul is a Nephilim of the past - one who had never been able to Rise or Fall. Perhaps they had never realized the truth of their passing, perhaps they had been in denial. Whatever the case may be, they are now mindless shadows that crave warmth, life. Lost souls are attracted to the Nephilim, attaching onto them and sucking their energy and eventually their life. Nephilim who never come to realize the truth of their passing (and thus never become privy to seeing the actual world around them) end up wasting away and become yet another lost soul.

Wraiths are lost souls who have grown in power. It may be that they have clung on to several Nephilim and changed them into lost souls as well, before ultimately draining that soul and becoming a part of each other. Or it may just be a group of lost souls that had banded together. Either way, wraiths are stronger and can pose a threat to the Nephilim.

Samael Grimaldi

#1
Name: Pride

Age: Unknown

Faction: Demon

Angelic/Demonic Status: Arch Demon

Appearance:

Height: 6’3

Weight: 220 lbs

Eye Color: Blue

Hair Color/Length: Blood Red/Short

Personality: Supremely Arrogant and short tempered, he is the embodiment of pride, root of all sin. Pride is loyal
only to the Prince, and whatever commands he issues, otherwise his only fixation is on infecting as many souls with his selfish creed as possible.

Biography:

As old as the flames of hell themselves, Pride has stood along side the Prince since the dawn of creation. Serving him with unquestionable loyalty, relentless tenacity and a fierce thirst for corruption. Since the struggle for salvation and damnation began, Pride has stood at the forefront of battle for his master; as a master of trickery and manipulation he uses his silver tongue to corrupt the Nephilim.

Pride uses various methods to weave webs of sin around his targets; his method of choice for the current century has been to appear as a Priest, a decorated member of the clergy that assists citizens with moral dilemmas by offering his sage advice to those that are willing to lend and ear. Taking the form of the head Bishop for the Catholic Church within the city, he uses council, confession and sermons to warp the masses to his dark masters word.

Grace/Wickedness:

Major Ability:

The Seven Deadly Strings:

As the root of all sin, Pride possesses the ability to attach spiritual webbing upon people, cast through the tips of his fingers. This webbing allows him to infect his victims with the sin that suits them most; allowing him to tip their moral scale in the direction that best suits his, and his masters purpose. This power only puts a powerful desire into the person, whether they succumb to that desire, or resist it is a matter of willpower. However, the struggle to resist it grows painful over time; it ceases to hurt when the person musters enough will to banish the desire from the mind.

Minor Ability:
Transmutation:

Pride can use this power to change the elemental make up of his body, by hardening his flesh, making his body gaseous, or even into a liquid. For the most part is serves as a defensive power, but he has been known to transmute his nails into blades to assist in torture or battle.

Flaws:

Supremely Self-Absorbed: Pride is both his greatest strength and weakness, he is easily consumed with his own desires and purpose, which can distract him from the greater purpose and leave him blindsided.

Benevolence: Any act that is pure in nature, and performed without any ulterior motive causes Pride to weaken and feel sick; it is not a well known fact, but if a Nephilim becomes aware of his corruptive motives, and does a pure act in his presence it will break his power over them and often ward him away for a time, depending on how pure the act is.

Addiction: Pride’s power is directly tied to Sin; the more he corrupts the stronger he comes, and vice versa. If he is kept from using his abilities to sway the souls of man, he will eventually grow weak and no longer be able to maintain his disguise or manipulate his powers. For this reason, he is rarely off the clock, and always striving to break those around him.

I like what I see so far, should be interesting to see how he plays the Nephilim under the guise of a priest.

You have the stamp of approval from me, but you still need another from one of the other two GMs. Since you're applying for Arch Demon I think you should wait and see what Remiel thinks. =)

PeacethatPowerbrings

Name: Karna

Faction: Demon
Angelic/Demonic Status: Arch Demon
Appearance:

Karna Appears as a black robed figure, standing 8' tall. The robes envelop Karna's body in pitch darkness, though what little can be seen is that Karna's hands are fleshless bone. Karna carries a scythe, with a 9' haft.

Karna never speaks, instead manifesting a kind of external interpreter, a female, suggesting that Karna is, or was, in fact a kind of female. She goes by the same name, and makes no distinction between herself and the true 'Karna.'
Karna's Interpreter

Personality: Stoic and calm, slow, and quiet. Karna tends to be stoic at all times, and quiet, rarely stirring except for some purpose. Karna's interpreter shows the largest differentiation in personality with the 'true' Karna, though this may be because she is not entirely controlled by Karna, though they share a mind.

Biography: A creature in two bodies, Karna is a embodiment of a kind of vice that comes from lack. Karna does not share in the vices of excess but in the vices of lack, lacking all virtues. As such, Karna's interpreter seeks vices of lack, not excess, not caring, or perhaps knowing, about the more active vices. Karna lacks the intellectual virtues as well, and as such, tends to be a creature of pure physicality, never crafting plans or tricks, but instead approaching directly, speaking directly, though her interpreter, and challenging directly.

Grace/Wickedness:

Major Ability:

Death Blade - Karna wields a scythe which it uses in direct conflict. Possessing some manner of power of its own, the blade always returns to Karna's hand, and in any other's hand it become ethereal, and harmless. The blade is invulnerable, and the haft is still living after a fashion, and riddled with thorns.

Minor Ability:

Shadow Robe - Karna wears a dark robe which shields her form from view. This robe moves as though it is alive, defending Karna's body inside with its rough cloth, and repairing itself when damaged. Although Karna is slow, and often easily flanked, the robe has seemed to take up the place of Karna's flesh.

Flaws:

Speed - Karna is not only slow by nature, but by necessity. Karna is incapable of great speed, though she moves with little sound, and no footsteps, she seems to have the stride of someone over-burdened, and is slow to turn, and move.

Trickery - Karna does not comprehend tricks, ploys, or other strategies. Although she makes up for this often with brute force, Karna's mind does not work on a level to comprehend things around her in any but the most straightforward manner.

The Drain - Karna embodies the vices of deficiency, and as such, attempts to create this in others. However, in order to do this, the interpreter is needed, and this is a drain on Karna's power. The more active the interpreter becomes, the less so Karna can be, and vice versa, this results in the possiblity of Karna being unable to act while the interpreter is occupied, a possiblity that makes Karna even easier to trick, or even evade, depending on the situation, though in either case, draining Karna's attention to one form or the other at the opportune moment is useful for those who know how to do it.

Judgement - Karna is unable, or unwilling, to attack those who do not display some vice of deficiency, although this is incredibly unlikely, it makes a judging necessary, and slows Karna further, this is an unecessary step if some authority has decreed a course of action already.

I am filled with recollections of lives I have not lived.

Esoteric Myobi

Good to see you here Peace, you are always welcome to my games. ^^

I like the profile so far, very interesting. Though I just wanted to make a few things clear that I wasn't too sure from just reading.

I understand that Karna and her interpretor are different entities and yet are one and the same as well. But would it ever be that only one appears and not the other? Or are they always seen together?

Also, you mention that Karna is lacking in virtues, intelligence included though she makes up for it with brute strength. What would this entail? Does it mean that she is 'simple' and may need things explained or reworded to almost like that of speaking to a child? Or is it just that she has a difficult time plotting and scheming since it is not her forte? Her specialty is instead in the now, the present - basically acting without thinking?

PeacethatPowerbrings

The interpreter is not always around, so at times she simply isn't around, so Karna's true form is always around, whereas the interpreter is not. Though the interpreter can leave Karna, but the Drain still applies, so they're more often together than apart when the interpreter is there. Because they share a mind, the further away the interpreter gets the worse the drain gets, as together, the interpreter has access to Karna's true form's sense and doesn't require as much of Karna's will to control.

Karna lacks the intellectual virtues, not intelligence itself. In a sense she isn't good at planning and with tricks or traps because she  doesn't plan for contingency, proceeding always with what she has, and setting strict conditions, like her need to judge before killing of her own accord. In a sense she doesn't imagine anything really, even to the point of being unable to come up with odds on a dice roll.
I am filled with recollections of lives I have not lived.

Esoteric Myobi

Starlequin

#11
Hi. I was kicking around and thought this looked delicious, so I whipped up a CS. Hope I'm welcome! If anything is unacceptable or needs altering, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Name: Samantha Cole

Age: 23

Preferred Faction: (undecided)

Appearance: 5'6, 115 lbs, short dark brown hair, brown eyes.
Pic.

Personality: Samantha is a very compassionate young woman who's been feeling that something is very wrong with her life lately. Everything is supposed to be so much...more, and it's just...not. She doesn't really understand everything that's going on, but thanks to her deeply ingrained protective and nurturing spirit she's bound and determined to help whoever she can for as long as she can.

Biography: Sam Cole was a rather average, if quite attractive, young woman living in a small mid-western town with her younger brother Will, who positively adored his older sister. Working as an EMT, she saw some pretty horrible things and her experiences could rightly be considered traumatic. Still, her natural optimism and kind heart kept her from becoming withdrawn or scarred, and she touched a lot of lives with her compassion.

One night while pulling a double shift, Sam was caught in a terrible accident caused by a drunk driver. She lingered in a coma for nearly three days, until her broken and mangled body finally gave out. When she woke up, she was back in what felt like her old life...except it wasn't. Something is just...off. The most obvious difference is Will's absence, but there are other tell-tales as well. Flowers seem faded, sunlight isn't as warm as it should be, food all tastes the same, and she hasn't felt the wind on her skin in what feels like forever...

Abilities:

Empathy:
Sam has the ability to sense the emotions, and occasionally the thoughts, of other individuals, and if she concentrates hard enough she can transmit her own emotions and thoughts to others. She has had little practice with this ability, however, and it tends to 'switch on and off' at random, which can be very distracting.

Transference:
Although she is still largely unaware of this talent, Sam can also transfer physical damage from others onto her own body, and in times of extreme stress can transfer damage from her own body back to others. This ability is considerably unreliable right now, though with practice she may gain more control. If it doesn't kill her first.

Flaws:

Bleeding Heart:
No matter what the circumstances, Sam has a difficult time resisting the urge to help someone who appears to be in trouble. In a world filled with treachery and deceit, this could easily lead her from a bad situation into a worse one.

Irresponsible:
Growing up in a lousy home as her younger brother's caregiver, Sam has rarely allowed herself to cut loose and shirk her duties, no matter how self-imposed they may have been. As a result, she is extremely susceptible to the idea of simply blowing off her responsibilities and letting someone else handle everything.

Resentment:
Even though Sam has always been the type to run head-first into trouble to rescue others, she does get a little tired of feeling unappreciated. A small part of her is always tempted to say, "To hell with it" and let things fall apart.
You live for the fight when it's all that you've got.

#18
Name: Nicholas Bekker
Age: 27 (With an additional ten spent in Purgatory, seven of them spent Aware)
Preferred Faction: Unaffiliated
Personality:  Suave, sophisticated, a real "get your foot in the door" type of salesman.  He knows how to read people at a glance, even if that "person" happens to be something not quite human.  Nicholas is a man who knows what he wants, and more importantly he knows exactly how to get it.  Hooking people is both an art and a skill to him, but he ultimately considers other individuals to be scarcely better than pawns or tools.

Nicholas is particularly gifted when it comes to keeping secrets from others, and will go to insane lengths in order to ensure that others do not glean them from his mind or his tongue, including and up to tricking himself into forgetting it entirely--only to recall it later based on some carefully timed stimulus.

Biography:
In life Nicholas was many things, but he was employed for the greater part of his twenties as a corporate downsizer, tasked with the unpleasant duty of flying about the United States in order to personally relieve men and women of their careers.  This soul-draining task would have worn down on just about anyone--anyone with the slightest ounce of humanity pumping through their veins.  Fortunately (or unfortunately), Nicholas was not encumbered by anything so frivolous as that.

Unsurprisingly he aspired towards greater heights in the business world, only to find his life cut short one day by a particularly disturbed employee who had caught wind of his approaching termination and decided to exact some small bit of vengeance by way of a 9mm pistol.

Awaking in Purgatory, Nicholas spent the next several years traveling through its muted landscape before finally coming to the realization that he was simply going through the motions of a life that had been abruptly stolen from him.  He afterward learned of the conflict between the angels and demons, and of his own unwilling role in it.  Suffice it to say that the man has very different plans in mind.  Very different plans.

Abilities:

  • Persuasion:  Nicholas spent the vast majority of his life learning how to sell just about anything to anyone, and in death his natural flair for manipulation has been supernaturally enhanced.  This manifests in an aura unconsciously projected around himself at all times, an aura that makes his words seem more agreeable and his targets more compliant.  It is unclear if Nicholas is even aware of this ability.
  • Minor Conjuration:  With a flick of his wrist, a bat of his eye, or a snap of his fingers he can conjure small objects at will.  He can summon no objects larger than a watermelon, and even that is pushing the limits of this power.  Nicholas cannot create an object that doesn't already exist in some form, only pluck it from somewhere else.  In order to conjure specific objects, he must not only be aware of their existence, he must also know exactly where they are located.  Unless an artifact is specifically warded against conjuration or larger than his limitations allow, it is within his power to obtain it.

Flaws:

  • Paranoia:  Nicholas is incapable of fully placing his trust in anyone or anything--including himself.  Though he possesses remarkable self-control, thus keeping himself from falling into the tired old stereotype of the twitching lunatic who sees shadows in every corner, it makes connecting with other Nephilim on any personal level nearly impossible.
  • Sociopathic:  Though he understands emotions in an academic sense, Nicholas cares very little for them beyond their use in the arts of manipulating others over to his own world view.  He can fake them easily enough, and knows precisely what to say and how to act in nearly all social situations.  His composure also allows him to control his face with similar ease, ensuring that his mask remains absolutely genuine despite his true intentions.
  • Narcissistic:  Like most sociopaths, Nicholas is ultimately self-serving and has an overinflated sense of self-importance.  Unfortunately for everyone else, he may very well have very good reason to be so confident in his own abilities.

Gonna put my CS where my mouth is!

Name:Edward Riley
Age: 28 (One Year in Purgatory. Newly awaken.)
Preferred Faction: Angel

Appearance: Six feet tall, and athletic African American. Once he held an almost constant grin, like he was the only one in on the joke, but now holds the bored and sometimes angry look of a person far too accustomed to being the punchline. His hair is always cut short, and has a tendency to keep his manner of dress pristine, though the quality of clothes is mid-range at best. He could command the attention in a room, if only he had the urge to do so.

Personality: Reserved, Introspective. Seen as a quite leader who leads more by example than words

Biography: Edward has felt like a stranger in a strange land for as long as he could remember. In his case, it happens to be very true. Though he lives his life as a salesman for an office supplies store, his heart constantly feels the agitation of something undeniably missing. Life isn’t as it should be, and those he work with, along with the people he shares his “life” with, seem like cardboard cutouts.

He has started to debate his sanity.

Every so often, on no set schedule, he wakes up in a code sweat as he hears a group of people who sound familiar to him. His family, or at least the feeling of it. There’s a sound of heavy motors and the radioed voice of the Old Man telling them to stay sharp. All is then quick until a blast rips through him, and he’s staring at a darkened smoke-filled sky. Then he’s awake. He has no idea that he died a Marine in a foreign land, only the feeling of emptiness, and a life now somehow misspent.

Abilities:
The Lance: The electric-blue representation of his newfound will, of which he still requires a purpose. The Lance is an extension of his right arm and can reach out to fourteen feet (basically the longest length I could find on a medieval lance). It enables him to shape the energy enough to knock down or cut with a thought. As it feeds from his will, it also is the embodiment of his intent. In that, the only way to master the ability is to master himself.

The Trail of Souls: Allows him to home in on a person he’s met, or someone who has left a considerable amount of themselves behind (such as an ability that has been used in an area to great effect) using the unique trail their soul leaves behind. It is almost impossible to find someone he hasn’t met or someone whose power doesn’t distort or destroy the world around them.

Flaws:
Vindictive: The philosophy of “An Eye for an Eye” sounds just fine to Eddie. He will pursue justice, or at least his idea of it, until he feels payment has been rendered.

Aggressive: The very nature of his abilities points to a man used to finding an enemy, and bringing the fight to their doorstep. This can lead him to many times walk into an obvious trap, just to get to the object of desire at the moment.

Power: The activation of his ability at first will cause him some distress, but slowly he’ll seek to control the power he has, then increase it. He will lust at the possibility of another level just over the horizon. Always in reach…if he had the will to take it.

Each flaw can be helpful and hurtful. The balance or imbalance of his flaws could lead him down a dark path despite the “good” it brings. After all, the road to Hell will forever be paved with good intentions.

Here’s my O/Os!

I don't know who this Muse person is, but if it explains away the voices in my head, then I'm all for it!

Esoteric Myobi

Hrm, I hadn't actually thought of there being a Neutral party besides the Oath Maker.

Normally the Nephilim would be swayed to either side due to their actions and choices but it seems that Nicholas Bekker just doesn't care unless he profits from it? Though honestly I'd have to say that I'm under the impression that he would eventually sway over to 'evil' since he's all manipulative and persuasive and does everything for his own interests. To be completely Neutral I'd almost think of 'apathetic' being one of the terms used and a Nephilim such as this would probably turn into a lost soul eventually. How about you just list yourself as Undecided for now and see where the game takes you?

Writersblockade, it looks like you'd make a vengeful Cherub if you manage to get there. Also, just wanted to make sure. Edward Riley has been in Purgatory for two years now and has only just newly awakened to the truth of the 'world'? As in, he is now aware of his surroundings or he's still slowly figuring them out?

Name: Andre Jameson
Age: 26
Preferred Faction: Undecided
Personality: Andre is a fairly laid back individual who takes things, both good and bad as they come rather than worrying about things that may be. It is easy for him to believe things that others might think are impossible and wasn't at all surprised when he had found out he was no longer in the real world but purgatory. He does good when he can but that isn't to say he isn't selfish or even a little vein at times as well.
Biography: Before he had died Andre was a model, nothing serious but he had been in a few magazines. For a while he had lived the lifestyle as though he were a famous model, going out all of the time, partying and being with women but he started to slow down, not because he was tired but because it was so repetitive. Sure the locations were different but the people and the drugs were all the same.

He had decided to change his lifestyle, and the night that he had decided to was the same night he had been pushed from the balcony of his penthouse by what he thought was his best friend. dying instantly but coming to purgatory Andre doesn't remember the details of his death but it wasn't long before he found out that he was no longer in the 'real' world as it were.

Though he had decided that he was going to quit the lifestyle he noticed, absently at first, that nobody else was partying the same way. Sure they went out and had drinks and drugs but it wasn't the same flair. Looking at himself in the mirror everything seemed wrong, like the world had darkened around him. His good looks paled in the mirror, they were still there but the tone seemed dry, excitement didn't exist in the same way. Death sucked.
Abilities:
Alter Physical body- If there is something that Andre does not like about his body he can fix it on thought alone. Of course he doesn't realize this is an ability so if he notices a part of his body that needs to be bigger or smaller he will work it at the gym and after one or two sessions it is the way he wants it. It would be far easier if he knew about this ability.

Lightning / Static manipulation - Again something he doesn't realize that he had but his cell phone never dies while it is with him; though he still charges it assuming it is just a good battery, and if he gets mad at someone and grabs them they will get a small electric shock a little more painful than a static shock.

Flaws:
Vanity- Andre looks good and he knows that he does. Though he is generally a good person he will avoid things if he thinks it will harm his appearance in any way (eg: If someone is being mugged he will not fight for he fears that he might get hit)

Supremacy- Having decided to quit drugs and drinking on his own he believes that he is better than most people out there and often times isn't afraid to throw it in their face. If he can do it... well no not anyone can, he is better than most after all

Greed-. He gives some, and even if he doesn't realize it he always expects something in return. It could be publicity or a promise of something better. This is something that Andre doesn't even realize he is flawed with, he gives to charity but it is always news worthy when he does and never anonymous and he never allows it to become routine so that it fades from the public view.

Thanks for the invite, Esoteric! I'd love to join.

I'm still mulling over my character, but she'll definitely be a Nephilim leaning slightly towards evil.
