No, I didn't. Interesting.

Did you know that when JFK was asked to attend the centenary of the Gettysburg address and make a brief speech, he had to decline, because he would be going to...Texas?

(Instead of Kennedy, his predecessor Eisenhower stepped in and made an address, reporting of which was drowned out by what happened a day or two later - it emerged recently and can be read here)..

There is something wrong in life when my most dominate side is my muse, and she doesn't listen to me. She skips around doing her own thing and ignoring me.

Mercurio123

no but it would make sense

Mercurio123

Ha no I didn't but I suppose it makes sense.

Did you know the brits received the nick name 'limy' because they used to carry lemons and later limes on long sea voyages.
Lemons are packed with vit C so it was a good way of preventing scurvy. Unfortunately Limes on the other hand aren't nearly as good but were later taken on because they are smaller. Unfortunately this also meant that suddenly scurvy became a problem without anyone really knowing why at the time.

MatingAngel

Interesting - I didn't know that.

Did you know that dry, dead leaves that get caught at the bottom of your windshield - after you park under a tree - can start smoking in hotter climates. I recently parked under a tree and had a bunch of dead leaves stuck between my windshield and the hood of my car. While I was out for a drive, a guy pulled up next to me and said "hey - you should clear out those leaves. I had some on my car in exactly the same spot and they started smoking."

Mercurio123

No I did not now that.

Did you know that if you have quite some miles to drive you can prepare some food for cooking, wrap it in tin foil and stick it inside the hood, somewhere around the exhaust manifold you can cook a decent meal? You are of course limited for space so don't expect a 3 course meal but it can be done.

Rex33

I didn't know, but I'll try it on my next road trip lol.

Did you know, that Neil Patrick Harris is in fact the President of the Academy of Magical Arts.
The Return: I'm trying to make a return to this wonderful website. I have fond memories of it, only outside conflicts made me put my interactions with all the amazing people here on hold. Now, I think I can be back on for awhile.

I'm all for the ons and offs pages, but I think I would liketo interact with people for a longer time rather then just a quick look at their page.

Jazra

No, I did not know that most interesting fact.

Did you know the new Veronica Mars movie comes out March 14, 2014?

Did you know that a good way to keep your canteen from freezing shut on ice cold, freeze-your-nipples winter camping trips is to turn it upside down? My dad taught me that trick and now that I'm an adult, I do my best never to put myself in a situation where knowing it would ever matter.

Did you know that if you interlace two phone books (so page of one book on top of a page of the other book and vice versa) that is becomes impossible to pull the two books apart from each other by brute force?
The backs of the books will break loose before the pages separate.

mindoverantimatter

I did not, but that's pretty awesome.

Did you know there are three types of colorblindess and that two of them are gender specific?

Mercurio123

That vaguely rings a bell, men tend to have trouble with colours between blue and green for example.

Speaking of colours, did you know it also matters if you have a word for it? an African tribe for instance didn't have a word for pink. Due to the lack of a word it was just red to them. So Orange would be Orange, Red would be red and Pink would also be Red.

Nymphadora

Very interesting.

Did you know that Canadians own 27% more snow blowers than all nations put together?
