Battle of the Bands(PF Seeker Thread)

Time to get this shit going again. Since what could be more fun then a group of adventurers/band, traveling the land going gigs and the occasional adventuring, that may or may not have been caused by their own mischief? Basically where there is a kingdom wide tournament for the best band, either via combat or by musical accomplishment, depending on how competitive you want to be.

So Rules!

- 3 Players
- Level 6 start.
- 5d6 epic rolls.
- 20K starting gold.
- Each get one free +1 electric instrument.
- No psionsics.
- No summoners.
- Need the female to be the lead singer/player/whatever.

I am interested but I have a few questions before I can commit to anything like this.

Would you accept someone that can sing and play an intrument at the same time (with as many players that you are asking for, this would be a must in a band).

Would you accept someone like me that has not played any system type of games for as long as most people in E have been born and can help to teach me the variations since D&D 2.0?

You can select preform singing and preform string instruments for your class. If you have learned 2.0 in the past, then that should help with teaching pathfinder quite nicely. Helps more then just having no experience.

The plot to this sounds interesting, and I rather enjoy D&D, but I've never even looked at a pathfinder book before and all I know is the races seem built for a higher power level.

Just to help out, there's a rather good guide that details the changes in the system from 3.5 to Pathfinder, along with changes to the core classes both good and bad, over here. And the SRD Nicci mentioned is contained in this link.

Little bit interested in this, too bad Summoners aren't available, the Synthesist variant looks like it would have been fun to use to transform from an unlikely-to-be-a-pop-star girl into a glamorous stage presence.
But them's the breaks, I'll see what I can come up with if this isn't filled up before a proper idea forms.

Considering maybe a monk or a paladin, I like what pathfinder did with the skills, all the new feats and these archetype things are giving me a headache and I'm trying to stay away from primary spellcasters because of changes to spells.

I saw something called traits on the srd, are we using those?

Traits are mini feats, and you get two of them.

Ulth is going cleric boy band type, while we still need a lead female singer.

Huh. I thought I recall signing up for this. posting and nothing else happened. Hell I even have the sheet still and since I only lasted about three posts... then it shouldn't take too much of a genius to note my interest.

Would it be alright if I applied with a Catfolk Bard?

Originally a human who went to an alchemist to commission a potion that would give her cool cat eyes, the elixir was too potent and made her form more feline than human. Since it didn't affect her singing (and since it made her dexterous enough to lick herself, not to mention the rough tongue) she didn't really mind.

Could the choice of free +1 electric weapon be a whip with a microphone on the end?

Also, not sure if I want to take the Celebrity archetype or not, +2 to diplomacy and intimidate in a town with a population of 5000 or less doesn't seem that great compared to the normal benefits of Inspire Courage.

Nicci, couple questions.

• Do we roll for hit points as normal, or is there a set amount you want us to use (like full at first, then half for each level for example)
• As the description of the Scorpion Whip says that any character proficient in the normal whip can use it as a whip, does this mean people proficient in one are proficient in both, or does a weapon feat still need to be taken and it's only referring to the reach/trip/etc?
• As Bards can use Perform skills to replace social skills with Versatile Performance, would traits that affect things like diplomacy or intimidate still work with it, or only with the original skill?

Just about done with the sheet, just require the above information and some items to spend my rather large pile of gold on.
