Liam Cullen never was one to follow the rules.  He was always getting into trouble, despite the best efforts of his big brother Carlisle.  And then Liam fell hard for a boy named Jacob Black.  The two knew they could never be together in the city, so they ran away.  Liam kept in touch with his brother, and was concerned when he'd heard nothing for quite some time.  He left his lover to go search for Carlisle.  He found him...  Despite begging and pleading with his new friends, the Volturi, Carlisle could not convince them to let his brother go unharmed.  Instead they turned him to see if he would be just like Carlisle.  Now turned into a monster, Liam went back to his lover, but it had been so long that Jacob feared the worst, and hanged himself.

Jacob was desperate to get Bella to change her mind.  He couldn't bear to lose the girl he loved to vampires of all things.  Then he laid eyes on Liam Cullen.  Something about that face stirred something deep inside him that he couldn't understand or explain.  He was supposed to hate vampires, yet, for the life of him, he couldn't get the blond immortal out of his mind.  He was even beginning to forget about Bella.  How was he going to explain to the pack that his soul mate just might be a leech?
