That's very interesting, 1SAZ!  I was pondering playing an IA character for some of the reasons you put into your background.  I think you've done it better than I would have and it opens up so many plot hooks.  Very well done!

Does anyone see a problem with two Lieutenants in the house on Homicide?  The Captain will be an NPC, jointly run by us as we need him.

Chelemar

Hi, I'm very interested.  Here is my character Sheet.  Thanks. :)

Name:Abigail Livingstone
Age:33
Height:5'6''
Weight:135 lbs
Assignment: (Homicide, Vice, Property Crimes, Patrol, etc.) Homicide, Police Psychologist, emphasis on Investigative Psychology
Rank: Detective
Brief Appearance: Abby has short, straight blond hair that falls in a bob to just below her chin, that frame her small face.   Clear blue eyes are her stand out feature, and add a splash of color to the fairness of her coloring.  Her features could appear feminine and almost fragile, that appearance is quickly proved wrong with the grit of her determination and strength of her character.  Always dressing fitting her position by wearing suit jackets that cover her breasts in a unseductive way, and collared shirts with formal, still collars, flat, no nonsense shoes, and minimal makeup, she gives off an all-business vibe.
Slender, but fit, she works out often to de-stress and to keep herself in shape so that she can protect not only herself, but anyone she might have to as best she can.

Brief Background:Born in Sherwood, England, UK, she was dismayed by the rise in crime in her area.  While not on the level of crime in the US, the rising amount of crime period, was shocking.  The involvement of drugs and guns began to spiral.  After her cousin was killed in a drug deal gone wrong when she was sixteen, she decided a career in law enforcement was for her.  She finished her A levels, and applied to Liverpool University where they were teaching a course in Investigative Psychology.  Working for a number of years at her degree, she took a gap year and joined the police force at Scotland Yard, then returned to obtain her Masters.  Working for SY for six years as an IP taught her much and gained her much experience.  However, when she was 28, she fell in love with an American, and followed him to the United States.  Gaining a permanent Visa, she became a citizen, but after a few years, her relationship fizzled when she became, "too wrapped up in her job."  Not willing to give up her work, they broke up.  Only with the department for a few weeks, she's not quite settled in with the group or proved herself.

Name: James Stuart "Stu or Jimmy"
Age: 27
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 140lb
Assignment: Homicide/Patrol
Rank: New Detective.
Brief Appearance: James is a tall(ish) person with an athletic build. Medium length dark brown hair, blue eyes. He wears smart shoes with dark jeans and a  smart shirt and jacket (being new and not quite sure on the proper attire). slight stylish stubble kept neat.
Brief Background: The son of two British immigrants, James moved to America with his parents when he was 11. He moved to a small town near Prinston due to the fact of his parents being offered jobs at the University. Growing up, he never managed to loose his accent. Growing up he was the prime target for the local bullies due to his accent an parents chose career. It was during his time at middle school that he decided to stand up for those less able.  The incident involed a young girl with a disability who was being physically bullied by a group of older boys, James stood up for her knocking one of the boys to the ground allowing the girl to get away...before getting mercilessly beaten by the boys friends. As soon as he was old enough he joined the police rising as the new "shining star" with an aptitude to closing cases dealing with crimes against women, before getting promoted to detective and being transferred to precinct where this is taking place.

It doesn't make much sense for two Lieutenants in the same unit and precinct. I'll get to work on a new concept.

EbonyQueen

Name: Christine Knight
Age: 42
Height: 6' 0"
Weight: 155 lbs
Assignment: Homicide
Rank: Detective Sargent
Brief Appearance: Tall and lean she has a toned, fit body and has managed to age gracefully. She dresses in a way that offer freedom of movement but also looking professional. Often wearing knee-length skirts and sometimes wearing heeled shoes which only manage to enhance her height and in some ways her intimidation factor.
Brief Background: Extensive training in hand-to-hand combat, specifically the Krav Maga fighting style along with four years of Patrol experience landed her a place with the Emergency Services Unit and stationed with ESS-2 for a number of years. Her time in ESU enabled her to witness some of the biggest tragedies that the Department had to suffer though her years of service until during one operation in which her unit was assisting SWAT in a high-risk capture she was wounded in the left thigh by a stray bullet. A wound which required months and months of physical therapy. After being cleared to return to duty she was dismayed to learn she had been 'promoted' and transferred to the Homicide division. When she complained it was brought up that a combination of her age and past injury made it impossible for her to return to her old post. Faced with that or early retirement and knowing full well she could not financially survive early retirement she, reluctantly, accepted the transfer.

I've closed recruitment.  I feel we have a sufficient player base to merit the start.  More details in a further post.

Branwen

Chelemar, thank you for the character.  I think Abigail will provide an interesting perspective from the dual viewpoints of being from the UK and being trained in psychology.  Great idea.

Baalborn, the new kid on the block, as in the newest detective, is going to be fun to watch grow.  Thank you for the character.

Ebony, you don't have to change your character.  We can always figure out a way for both of you to be lieutenants, I'd just need to stretch my creative brain.  That said, thank you for being willing to change.  Let me know which character and rank you prefer.

A quick recap of the cast.

The Raven as Eric Weiss, Homicide, Detective
Prince Truhan as Nicholas Cooper, Homicide, Detective
Caehlim as Chris Wright, Forensics Division, Civilian Specialist
1SAZ as Isaac Hallsey, Homicide, Lieutenant
Chelemar as Abigail Livingstone, Homicide, Detective
Baalborn as James Stuart, Homicide, Detective
Ebony Queen as Christine Knight, Homicide, Detective Sergeant
Branwen as...yes.  Something.  :)

Prince Truhan, would you consider being our Detective First Grade?

Raven, I can see you as a Detective Second Grade.

Chelemar, Baalborn given your relatively short time being detectives, you'd be Detectives Third Grade.

Please note that all Detectives are nominally of identical rank and fall under the command of Sergeants and Lieutenants.  The major difference is pay, prestige and nature of assignment.  If you're a Homicide Detective, no matter the grade, you're very, very good.

As I did not note any objections, we will set up in New York City as members of the New York Police Department.  Specifically, we'll be from the Four One House, the 41st Precinct, set in the Bronx.  All of you are assigned to the Homicide Division.  I'll begin to set up game threads.

Prince Truhan

I'm alright with first grade.

I'll make one note in regards to Nicholas just in case, he isn't the guy everybody knows is doing something fishy but nobody can prove it, he is just secretive and that can be suspicious.

Threads up.  Please begin posting your character sheets in the character sheet thread and chattering away OOC.  Hold off in IC until we finalize date and a few other items, please.

Or post away apparently!  Who am I to curtail this enthusiasm. Just don't establish a date or time of year yet, please.
