Everything changes, given time.  The seasons change from winter to spring, summer, and fall and back again in a never ending cycle.  People change as time marches forward, starting as small bundles of joy to young men and women seeking to make someting of themselves, to elders passing on hard won wisdom to those that will listen.  Places change as well, often touched by man as villages are established, cities rise, and castles are erected to protect those that live within their shadows before inevitably falling back into ruin.  And in incredibly rare instances, even ancient prophecies and lingering curses can change, adapting, evolving, seeking to overcome that which has trapped them in a cycle of their own.  Everything changes, given enough time.

And so it was a King became a Queen, and a Hero of legend found itself facing a new threat, one he wasn't prepared for, for he did not recognize her for what she was.  Not even the then Queen knew her for her true face, but just as the nature of their enemy had changed, so had her demeanor.  No longer was Ganon, the King of Evil, truly evil anymore.  At least, that's the story she weaved the first time she appeared in Hyrule, changed from what they once knew and had grown used to for thousands of years.  Despite eventually figuring out just who, and more importantly, what she was, Ganon, the Queen of the Gerudo people, did not invade Hyrule, but rather tried to make peace with it.  But before her desire for peace could be made even a faint possibility, tragedy and betrayal struck, which ended in the death of the Gerudo Queen and her top lieutenants.

Later, it was discovered Hyrule's people themselves weren't about to take the chance Ganon turned on them as he'd, now she, had done countless times before, and despite wishes to the contrary from Queen Zelda herself, they struck against the woman before she could become a danger again.  For the next twenty-one years, things seemed to go back to normal, until another woman calling herself Ganon appeared once more.  And unlike all of the times before, this one remembered.  This one remembered everything, something else that had never happened before save for vague recollections from across the eons.  How to wield a sword, playing the pipe organ, commanding armies, but never any fine details, never anything beyond dreams that often faded in the morning save for the embers of memory.  That was no longer the case however, and she was understandably upset over having been murdered, especially by someone other than the eternal Champion and protector of Hyrule, Link, when all she had wanted was peace and a chance to give her people a better life, this time.  She understood why of course, but offering the olive branch hadn't worked when she'd been nothing but honest and sincere.  As a result, she decided perhaps she'd need to go about this with a bit more finesse, and so a plan was concocted, one that would see things changed to her will for once.

And the people who hadn't been willing to see reason, to give her a chance to try and redeem herself for the first time since this had all began?  Well, there'd be time enough for them once her plot began to unfold...

As you can no doubt guess from the introduction here, things have changed.  No longer will Ganon be the King of Evil, but rather a Queen, and she isn't the only one that has changed since Demise put his curse into action so long ago.  What else has changed you might ask?  Well, that depends on who we get to make characters and how they might shape things in their own small ways, but overall this will be AFTER the events of Breath of the Wild and the timeline that the game falls into.  (As much as I love the branching timeline theory, we're not going to be getting into that mess.)  As far as an actual time, I'd say about two hundred years since the end of BOTW, so they've had time to recover from all that transpired, and to learn much of what they had lost regarding the ancient tech left behind by the Shiekah and their descendants, but this is our own story, not theirs, so while vague references to events long since past are more than acceptable, that is all they should be, vague references.  Beyond that, the usual things apply when talking Legend of Zelda.  Magic is semi-rare, with most people knowing about it but being either unable or just untrained to use it, with only the likes of monsters, Ganon, Zelda, and a number of NPCs typically being able to use magic to achieve things otherwise thought impossible.  I won't be too harsh on who can use it and who can't, but just keep in mind the most powerful of practitioners are typically only able to call down lightning on command, or are able to raise impenetrable barriers, to name two such examples, not counting those empowered by divine objects like Zelda, Ganon, and Link to name three.  Cia is one of those rare exceptions, and only because she was half a goddess from the Hyrule Warriors era if I recall, but again, as long as you come up with a good reason, I won't complain much.  ;D

Current Setting

Zora Domain:  The Zora people, a race of typically blue scaled aquatic beings, protect the rivers, lakes, and streams of Hyrule, as well as serving as skilled spear fighters, powerful swimmers, and noble spirited individuals overall to any that visit their lands.  As long as one respects their homes and the water itself, Zoras are quite friendly and open to most outsiders.  From musicians to archers, to artisans and fishermen, whatever their profession and passion, the Zora give their all to whatever they pursue, and because of their long lives, they are able to master all that they set their minds to.  Their Domain is to the east and north of Hyrule Castle.  Currently, the Zora people are ruled by King Sidonis, (formerly Prince Sidonis, brother to Mipha, Princess and former Champion to Princess Zelda, she who commanded one of the four Divine Beasts), and his three children and their revered council of elders.  While they still cling to many of their old traditions, the Zora have made great strides in strengthening their homes against any and all would be invaders, while making trade to and from their domain that much easier for those they are staunch allies with.  A series of watergates and metallic fortress walls surround the edges of their domain, keeping monstrous Octoroks and the occasional bokoblin raiding band from running roughshod against the Zora.

Death Mountain:  Despite the name, the Goron people, a race of humanoid rock like beings, call this place their home, something they've done for countless years.  Making their home around the base of a normally dormant volcano, (save for those times when something is amiss), the Gorons dig up valuable ores that they trade and craft into powerful weapons and armor, making them incredibly skilled artisans, blacksmiths, and naturally attuned to the ground they make not only their livelihood from, but also their survival since there are many kinds of rocks and minerals that the Gorons eat to keep their formidable strength up.  Proud to the point of stubbornness, the Gorons aren't ones to ask for help with their internal affairs, but there are a few exceptions to this rule.  The Protector to the Princess is one such example, the Guardian of all of Hyrule, the Hero that has saved their home on multiple occasions.  Most everyone else has to earn a Goron's respect and acceptance, but once they do, there are typically few races that are more loyal and trustworthy than a Goron that owes a life debt to you and your descendants.  Death Mountain lies to the northeast of Hyrule Castle, and it is a treacherous and dangerous climb even at the best of times, being incredibly hot to the unprepared, thus making it quite taxing on the body just from the heat alone, but one that is well worth the effort.

Rito City:  Once Rito Village, this place has undergone the most change.  While they still favor sticking with a chieftain as far as leadership goes, the Rito, thanks to their connection to the sky and the protection of the aerial fortress, their Divine Beast, they've managed to turn their small if impressive village into a full fledged city among the clifftops of their home.  A series of intricate, sturdy bridges and mechanical lifts allow less airborne travelers to make their way through the city without incident, and while some Rito are a little haughty and proud of the fact they can fly and the other races can't, most are open to outsiders and willing to trade even with the Gerudo without complaint.  The anthropomorphic bird people are very deadly archers, striking from well beyond the range of most ground based archers and siege engines with ease as they pass overhead on their powerful wings, but at a cost of adequate, heavy protection.  Despite this, they are much more keen to follow far less violent pursuits, preferring to master the musical arts than anything, and their legends and stories are as old as the kingdom itself in some cases, many of which have been turned into breathtaking musicals and sacred songs sung during festival and holy days.  All in all, the Rito might be haughty in certain regards, but making friends of these passionate individuals ensures you'll never go far without a winged friend protecting your back.  Rito City is deep within the Tabantha Frontier, far to the west and north of Hyrule Castle and its surrounding city.

Gerudo Town:  Despite the fear and hatred most people harbor of the all female race of their desert dwelling neighbors, many can agree that most Gerudo are content to leave the rest of Hyrule alone.  For those that go out of their way to trade with them however, have reported that the tall, incredibly powerful and physically imposing group of amazonian women are quite polite despite their own xenophobic tendencies when it comes to who they allow in and out of their homes.  Traders are often forced to remain outside of Gerudo Town unless they are female themselves, in which case they are often kept under surveillance, more for their own protection than any fear of any outside influences.  Despite such ancient traditions guiding their hands, the years have treated them well, until rumors of a new Ganondorf started to spring up some years ago now, and a lot of old hurts were remembered, both from outside their walls, and within, while some were willing to bend the knee to this dark skinned woman with glowing orange-yellow eyes.  Whatever the case might be regarding said rumors, the Gerudo themselves might still live in loose tribes and traveling bands, but all of them eventually make their way to one of their few towns in existence at some point or another.  As a result, all of them pay homage to their most capable and wise leader, of which Rajin, daughter to Urbosa, currently resides as their chieftain.  A mother of six daughters, Rajin is a devout follower of their ancient ways, paying homage to the goddess of the desert and those spirits the goddess commands, as well as remembering and honoring her mother who fought and died to protect Hyrule from Ganon's malicious intentions two centuries ago.  She is one of many that has refused to bend the knee, but not all of her daughters agree with her stubbornness....  Gerudo Town is far to the southwest of Hyrule Castle, deep in the desert of their homeland, making for a difficult journey for the ill prepared.

Hyrule Castle:  Located at the center of the country, Hyrule Castle and its surrounding city has grown strong once more despite all that has transpired.  Returned to its former glory, if not surpassed it, Hyrule Castle has and will always be the seat of power for the Royal Family, held by the venerable King of Hyrule and his daughter, Princess Zelda, chosen bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom, and one of the few that has personally helped defeat the evil tyrant, Ganondorf, alongside her loyal knight and protector, Link.  Often accompanied by one of the Shadow People, or better known as the Shiekah clan, the Royal Family are wise and benevolent rulers, with the women holding the true power behind the throne given their undisputed wisdom and formidable powers, gifted to them by both the Goddess Hylia and the Triforce of Wisdom they bear upon their right hand.  And the people have prospered greatly since the castle was restored after Calamity Ganon was defeated, bringing new life and happiness to the kingdom they once more call home.  While it's taken time, the autonomous Guardians that once patrolled the city and its surrounding countryside have been largely cleared away, melted down or repaired as the need arises, leaving only a few dozen that are closely watched lest they go berserk again as they did when the Calamity first appeared.  Whatever the case, despite rumors of a new Ganon appearing, this one different from all the rest that have come before, many people agree that as long as Zelda and her protector stands, no one could ever hope to take away their lives and hope again.

Current Time

The fundamental being of Demise's curse changed twenty one years ago, with a new form of the Gerudo King being born into the world, this one a woman.  Elsewhere however, Queen Zelda and her council, along with her loyal bodyguards and close friends, Link and Impa, are quickly made aware something has changed, but the discovery of ancient ruins in the desert prompt them to send excavation teams to uncover the rest.  Between this and their continuing research into the ancient Sheikah technology, as well as remnants of both the Yiga Clan wanting to destroy those few they can find unawares, which naturally number Link, Zelda, and any of their descendants, and monster attacks in general that require a response by the knights of Hyrule, rumors of a new manifestation of a changed, eons old threat slips to the wayside until Ganondorva makes herself known to the people of Hyrule.  Zelda and the rest immediately respond, expecting the worst, but this new Ganon proves genuine in her intentions of hoping to foster a much better relationship between them all.

Tensions mount however despite Ganondorva proving she is nothing like her previous incarnations, and it isn't long that, despite having begun to make a lasting friendship between herself, Zelda, and Link, that she is slain along with most of her top soldiers and closest allies.  Zelda brings to bear her full authority on those responsible for the deed, stripping many of their property, rank, and titles while executing the ringleader for putting the conspiracy against the former ruler of the Gerudo, understanding that what hope they had in repairing the long ago burned bridge has just been lost.  While she resolves to try and do so when Ganondorva returns, and Zelda and Link both know she will, Queen Zelda doesn't live long enough to see it, dying shortly after her daughter is born.  Many speculate that between losing Ganondorva to assassins, as well as any hope of ending their ancient feud once and for all, on top of the strain of childbirth not long after, that it was all too much.

Later it was discovered that the Yiga Clan had actually succeeded in poisoning the Queen right under Impa's nose, which led to the venerable woman in retiring in shame back in her home village of Kakoriko.  Link would later fall protecting the still very young Zelda from those remnants of the conspiracy against Ganondorva, seeing the Royal Family as traitors and worse for having ever allowed their enemy into the castle, their home, at all.  Despite a period of unrest, things would settle down for a time, with Zelda and an once more reincarnated Link growing up together in the castle, but having very little to do with each other outside of brief encounters.  All the while, as promised, Ganondorva grew in strength and power, preparing for her inevitable return...

Finishing touches

As you can see folks, things have changed.  True, the Guardians and Divine Beasts are still around, but not NEARLY as they once were between how effectively they were either destroyed during BOTW's time with Link clearing out most of the area of their presence, or because the people themselves from the various villages, (which are still around I just didn't want to list every single place where people have settled), have since removed them out of fear from the days spent cowering from their shadows anytime one wandered by.  The Divine Beasts have since fallen dormant for the most part, silently poised where they were left after their Champions had departed for the next life, but they're still around.  They won't play a role in things to come, but if anyone wants to poke around their innards, you're more than welcome to do so, just be careful because they ARE still revered for all that they did against the Calamity.  Not asking permission or outright ignoring orders to the contrary will result in some potentially troublesome but potentially amusing repercussions.  :P >:)  But as for the general setting in and of itself and how I kinda see things being ran for this game, is a more Game of Thrones set up.  I don't want this to become nearly as dark and gritty, but the general idea that this will be more people interacting with people, making alliances, setting up betrayals, political marriages, etc etc, things of that nature while sticking true to the Legend of Zelda themes and setting will be the goal.  Noble knights, corrupt nobles, people just trying to get by, all this and more will be a thing while those in true power, Link, Ganon, and Zelda, vie against each other or alongside each other, will have far reaching repercussions for all involved.

I'll be getting the rules and character sheet going here soon, just want to make sure this is ready to go for the moment.  The towns and villages listed aren't the only places you can start at by any means, (especially since Tarrey Town is actually pretty awesome if you go out of your way to help build it lol), it's just to give a general idea of what's currently going on and a bit of info for those not familiar with the various races.  If you guys can come up with a reason why, I MIGHT agree to allow more traditional elves, orcs, or anything else along the same lines, especially since the lands beyond the seas on all sides are largely unmentioned and not talked about.  I just ask that they NOT be hostile invaders, but rather peaceful, mostly, explorers and the like just trying to understand this place they find themselves in.  Anyway, just wanted to throw that out there.  See ya soon with the rest of this.  :D

Character Sheet

A few things regarding characters.  Abilities are what you yourself are good at, not because of your race, but because of who YOU are as a person, meaning even if you're a Zora, you might be naturally good at swimming, but you can still be a very capable fighter in or out of the water as long as it fits your history and personality.  Maybe being fluent in ancient Hylian is your thing, or just collecting lore and knowledge and legends from the old days?  Whatever the case, feel free to be creative.  (And yes, I stole the sheet from Zootopia's game....don't say anything?  :P)  And yes, pictures are more than alright, but please resize appropriately when the need arises.  Character limit will be up to two, for now, but you can have any number of NPCs as you wish to control as you wish, as long as you actually USE them and don't mind occasionally if myself or any of my Co-GMs take control of them per your permission of course, but otherwise they'll be yours to do with as you need/like.  There will also be the chance to do multiple scenes, but I'm gonna be putting a limit to two or three tops, at least to start, not counting any Story Relevant posts/thread/etc.  There will ALSO be a header to take care of when posts are up and going, but for now just worry about getting people together, expressing interest, and asking questions if ya wish.  See ya!

The door to the Twilight Realm if I recall is still around, it's just probably been lost to time is all.  So yeah, I can definitely allow someone from the Twilight Realm to pop up, and yeah, it's a different realm, and while those from TP are weak to the sun and all that, they're not bad people.  They're just....different.  :D  So go nuts Peanuts, I'm all for it.  ;D

Roleplay Frog

Link is all about being conflicted.

I read setup and world, but where do the players actually fit in? I mean, I read the Game of Thrones part, but the character sheet doesn't seem to lend itself to noble world-building strategy aspects. Furthermore half of the premise sounds like a heroic struggle fangame setup. Also, The innate black/whiteness of the videogame world of Hyrule makes for a tricky backdrop for morally ambigious scenarios.

Peanuts

well alrighty then. I think I'll be playing Midna's son to continue with the genderbending theme :p

Lol, I would but it would be kind of a shame to negate Midna's character development at the end of TP, so instead we get her immature son instead :p Some early pics I've found.

First off, I LOVE your avatar picture Deva, the Master is brilliantly evil during his time on the show.

To answer your questions though, there IS plenty of opportunity for a more GoT set up since there ARE different places among the world of Legend of Zelda, especially since the Realm of Twilight is gonna be making a comeback.  Zora Domain with its fish people for example, their priority is their watery domain, and they protect their home quite ferociously when the need arises.  As such, they'd naturally send someone to Hyrule Castle and its surrounding town to negotiate for help, trade, or to make any grievances known to the Royal Family, mostly Zelda since she's the one that does anything of note.  That's just one example, but it works for getting my point across.  Hence, there's plenty of room for things to go sideways if things are played accordingly since people, no matter their race, can be incredibly stupid and selfish at times.  ;D  Hope that helps.  :D

Lol and Drow, would ya drop the animal kink stuff already?  You're creeping me out.  :P  Also Peanuts, not bad with the pics and that you've found a male Midna, essentially, to play as.  I like it.  ;D

How would it be negating her character developement? For all we know Ganon pieced the mirror back together during one of his past lives  but didn't get to activating it ;).

...Link might try to capture or run away with her if Ganon's and Zelda's little war is at a stale mate by then. xD

Unfortunately Drow, one of Link's most redeeming qualities that pass on from one to the next is his loyalty to the realm of Hyrule.  Running off is so out of character that he, or she, might as well be another character altogether.  So no....that won't likely be happening.  :P

Well he/she has only known Hyrule in peace time. Things are different when getting sieged is a daily possibility, after all Link is usually reincarnated as a peasant or farmer. Also he/she wouldn't be running away exactly, she's getting someone to help end the war without needless bloodshed. Who better than someone who can turn into a literal giant rage monster that would make any man soil himself upon sight? At the very least it would keep the two royal nutjobs from clawing at each other's throats for five seconds so Link can try to talk sense into them. :P

Well she'll need to corrupt Link to get her loyalty...and even then anything overtly tyrannical will get met with a sword to her sword. xD

Midna and Zelda basically already have it at word go since they basically like each other...Plus Link might have missed Midna a fair bit to say the least. ;)

Oh god I just realized how much of a grumpy babysitter Link is gonna be to Midna's son. Little twilight bean is not safe! xD

Well Midna might have His/Her heart mind you. She knows what being the hero of light actually means and demands, Zelda on the other hand has only known dungeons, her palace and the divine beasts. Plus Zelda and Link have only really have a mostly sibling or professional relationship throughout their life times. xD

Look, with all these ruins and ancient dungeons I'm sure something or other is lying around. It's just a matter of having competent people to find it. Which is the hard part, to be honest

Vergil1989

It was hugely implied in Breath of the Wild that there was much more than a professional relationship between Zelda and Link, especially if you got the true ending for the game by completing all of the Divine Beasts and got all of the memories scattered about the HUGE map.  ;D  Still, largely you're right Drow, and really whatever you wish to do is more than fine by me.  ;D

Lol true Metraxa, and you ain't wrong.

Also Peanuts, I actually agree with you, Mipha would've been preferred in that situation if not for the fact she died to Waterblight Ganon, that just sucked, especially after seeing the Ballad of the Champions DLC cutscenes.  Urbosa was especially depressing to me since she mentions Zelda's mother to the young Princess.

Met anything in those places also have to be Sheikah tech or magic to even function. So unless your guy is secretly a Sheikah then he's largely out of luck. Ganon at least can give him power the "easy way". :P

Though I could see Sheikah tech working out as a character possibility if he is a Sheikah. Hell there are still a fuck ton of guardians around and they have giant fuck off lasers and cool glowing weaponry. He can have a small cadre of the things as his minions. :3

Ahh, haven't played the DLC, but yeah there was definitely more than platonic feels implied in that ending and the memories you recovered.

There isn't a lot of guardians left, but there ARE a lot more Shiekah in a single village, although no one will ever beat Impa lol.  Still, it's not unheard of for Shiekah to wander, so I'd be mroe than fine if he's got a bit of Shiekah blood in his veins, although anyone can pick up a guardian weapon and using it.  No one said you need to have Shiekah blood to use their tech, Link certainly doesn't and he's able to do all kinds of stuff with it.  :D

Bending is not the correct term. More seizing direct control of all of its' functions. Also said seizing of control needs you to actually kill a fuck ton of them simply to get the needed parts. xD

Guardians are also dangerous because they are fast, so having minions just means it needs to body check them to get to him...plus once he's closest to it he'll become its' new target. >:)

Hmm, I dunno, there've been quite a few NPCs with weird abilities across the games with Magic, Fairies, monsters and other weirdness like that.

You're not wrong Peanuts, but Drow's not wrong in his own right as well.  Still, as long as it sounds plausible, I won't argue too much.  :D

Vergil1989

[Floatright][/float]

Player Name:  Vergil1989

Character Name:  Ganondorva

Age: 21  (Quite a bit older in other respects.)

Species:  Gerudo

Sexual Orientation & Status: Bi / Virgin

Job:  Queen of the Gerudo  (Currently)

Personality:

"I do what I must to see my goals achieved.  I would see the Gerudo free of their chains, and allowed the same rights and privileges as the rest of Hyrule.  If I must become a monster to do so, then that is what I'll do.

Despite having been killed countless times before, normally by Link, at least a handful of times by far more mundane enemies, this version of Ganon is far calmer and much less prone to violent impulses despite her still cursed existence.  That's not to say she's soft, she's far from it in fact, having a very black and white view of the world at large, so crossing her is often the last mistake most people make.  Having said that, this incarnation of Ganondorva is more than happy to speak to the lowliest farmer, to the highest authority in the land in equal measure, making friends of them all in most cases.  She might be a bit naive to the finer points of politics, (currently), but her passion, strength, commitment to her cause, and willpower are not to be underestimated.  She is a nightmare to her few enemies, but she is merciful to those she deems worthy of such a thing, but for Link, she has nothing but respect for the man that has defeated her again, and again.  Zelda too, she has nothing but respect for, since she has also played an integral role in destroying her in her own right, but also because, despite their differences, Ganondorva admires her wisdom and strength of character in leading the rest of the realm.  That's not to say she doesn't also hate them deeply at the same time, but not as much as she once did.  They weren't responsible for her first death as a woman after all, and both Link and Zelda have always been fair and just in all of their dealings, even with her far more malicious descendants, only going as far as Ganon himself had gone in trying to destroy them in turn.  But things will be different this time, they needed to be....

Appearance:  Her most identifying feature is her dark brown skin, even among the Gerudo who spend most of their time out in the desert sun, as well as her jewel like yellow eyes that miss little.  At about 7'6'', weighing about 142 lbs of nothing but slender, wiry muscle, she's tall even by Gerudo standards, but Ganondorva is much more beautiful than most of her previous incarnations, with fiery red hair that goes down to the small of her back, often contained in a slightly intricate headdress with a single amber colored jewel set into its center.  Dressed in revealing if very functional metallic and leather armor that is almost as dark as her skin, she walks with purpose wherever she goes, her commanding presence drawing all eyes towards her the moment she enters a room, despite the fact her footsteps are often near silent.  When she wishes to go unnoticed however, Ganondorva can conceal herself almost to the point of being undetectable with simple hoods that cover her from the head down and her magic, save for those few perceptive enough to see through her efforts.

Further Pictures

History:

"I have seen a thousand, thousand lifetimes.  I have done everything one could possibly do, but in all of that time, I have been one thing, and one thing alone.  I wish to change the fact I've been a monster nine out of my ten lives."

From tyrannical king to demonic warlord, to even obtaining power rivaling a god, or rather three specific goddesses, Ganon has done it all at one point or another.  Ganondorva however, is something else, and like any change, people fear what they don't understand, especially when dealing with an eternal curse such as herself.  Her face might've changed, but those that are too afraid or obsessed with what she used to be cannot see past her incredibly long list of horrific deeds against the kingdom of Hyrule, and by extension, the world.  But since becoming something new, Ganondorva's upbringing changed accordingly, despite those few that know her for what she is.  Even so, some things haven't changed, and her desire to bring the Gerudo out of the desert and into the modern age that the rest of Hyrule takes advantage of simply by being born in the right place, has driven her to do all she can to achieve equality for her fellow clanswomen.  Such was her desire when she set out the first time after being born as a woman for the very first time, twenty-one years ago.  Before that, Kotake, Koume, and many of their fellow Gerudo warriors trained her extensively in all that they could, only to quickly realize that she was already a very competent warrior in many respects, all she lacked was experience, which unfortunately would be her undoing when she made the inevitable trip to Hyrule Castle to try and obtain peace between herself, the Gerudo who still carried the stigma of being hated and feared despite all of the good they'd done during the Calamity incident two hundred years before, and the Royal Family of Hyrule Castle and its surrounding countryside, in the hopes of putting their ancient pasts behind them so that they might move forward together to a far brighter future.  But it was not to be, although whether it was the curse simply reaching out to those around Ganondorva, stoking the people's fear and rage against her, or simply the people themselves reacting to her very presence thanks to a few that remembered what she'd done, the result was the same.

The first few weeks within Hyrule's protective embrace went about as well as one would expect once word got out that a woman matching Ganon's prophesied appearance had returned, with increasingly frightful mutterings and spite filled outbursts from those less inclined to reign in their passions.  But Ganondorva did nothing to add fuel to their fires, keeping herself the picture of calm and poise since she understood they had every reason to hate and fear her on sight alone.  She simply kept a hand on her sword's hilt and dispelled what she could of their fear and hatred of her person, which worked for the most part.  It was those few individuals that wouldn't so easily persuaded that were the problem, but she wouldn't know of them until it was far too late to stop their plot from unfolding.  But for those first few weeks within Hyrule Castle, surrounded by those she had been able to befriend through truly benevolent deeds and selfless acts, Ganondorva was able to find a very small measure of atonement for herself for all that she'd done in her countless past lives, and was even able to speak with the Princess on multiple occasions, albeit with Link, her royal protector and friend, never far from her side.  True, he didn't bear the Master Sword most days she'd spoken with the Princess, but he didn't truly need it either since she had not gained the Triforce of Power with her new form.  She needed to earn that right again, to lay claim to that which she had held for so long that it might as well have had her name on it.  But she didn't want it either, she didn't trust herself with it, not after all of the time she'd spent abusing its immense strength and power on bloody conquest and worse.  She'd wish she had gone out of her way to reclaim it though when the worst day of her latest life came to pass, when she was violently murdered along with many of her top lieutenants and trusted friends.

The day started out well enough, with another successful and peaceful conversation with Zelda as they simply walked through the gardens, speaking on a great many topics, some of which were small and mostly inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.  But it was on her way back to her camp just outside the city walls, in a clearing in the nearby southern woods, that disaster struck.  Several assassins rushed out with crossbows and bows, shooting her horse dead in the first volley.  Pinned beneath the animal, Ganondorva could only struggle as one man with a curved dagger approached.  Just as she'd gotten herself pulled partially free, he fell upon her, driving the blade deep into her throat.  Grabbing his face as she died, she gurgled a curse with her dying breath, marking the man's face with a hideous brand that would pass onto his descendants, forever marking them for what they were.  But that wouldn't be the end of it, because Ganondorva was reborn, and the cycle began all over again, except she was not quite the same as she'd been before.  She remembered everything that had occurred, and it didn't take much for her to find the man with the brand on his face that, unbeknownst to him, included a tracking beacon of sorts that someone like her could easily track, now twenty one years older with several children around him.  She didn't touch a hair on his head, but she walked past his house just as he was walking out to go about his day.  He took one look at her, and he knew she knew him when she glared down upon him.  The message had been heard, and he quickly scurried off, an insect that she could squash under her boot when she felt the time was appropriate.  But that would come later.  The other assassins and their families she still wished to find, if for no other reason than to exact a bit of Gerudo justice from them.

But she had other matters to attend to, something she should've done from the start rather than trying to play nice...

Alignment:  Lawful Good....

Abilities:

Survivor: - Whether she knows how to do so because of her many past lives or because she paid avid attention to her mentors in this one, Ganondorva is a very capable survivor in any environment she finds herself in.  While her knowledge is much more extensive in the desert regions of her homeland, she's been in every conceivable situation one could ever envision, and has come out the other side relatively unharmed while keeping her allies and companions alive at the same time.

Arcane Lore: - While her focus has been mostly on the legends and fables surrounding the Triforce, the Royal Family, the Master Sword, and Link, and not necessarily in that order, Ganondorva has a very extensive mental library of all things she's encountered throughout her many, many lives.  Granted, she still has to refresh her memory by actually seeing the ruins, texts, or what have you to fully remember what it is she's already learned at some point before in her thousands of years of existence, but once she has, it's there for her to draw upon at will.  Most days though, she likes to read for the sheer simple pleasure of it, although even then her reading material often consists of army tactics, books on other people's adventures and the like, as well as any number of pertinent topics to her successes later.

Capable Warrior: - Even at such a young age, Ganondorva has already proven herself more than a match for anyone she's come up against.  From would be assassins from the Shiekah and Yiga clans, (the latter of which don't like the idea of their King growing a pair of breasts), to noble knights from Hyrule wishing to test themselves against the Queen of the Gerudo tribes, (not counting Rajin and her close allies who refuse to follow her), she's beaten all contenders.  And surprisingly to most people, she's largely been merciful and honorable to anyone that she's defeated, except for those that have tried to outright kill her for one reason or another.

Sorceress: - Even without the Triforce of Power, Ganondorva is a capable sorceress, having learned many spells from those that were willing to teach her over the years.  Most of her magics are either curses, magical bolts, or defensive measures such as barriers and the like, but all of them are not to be underestimated.  But without the Triforce of Power, they are small and limited in power and size, making them more as a last resort measure than anything, but even then most people can't counter them easily without magic of their own, or the technological equivalent.  (Shock arrows, flame arrows, etc.)

Charismatic: - During her more monstrous conquests, the former tyrant has proven more than capable in swaying people to her side given enough time.  Intelligent and persuasive, Ganondorva is no different in that regard, being able to talk her way out of trouble or into places she has no reason to have access to normally.  Of course it goes beyond that, having allowed her to gain allies in almost anyone she speaks to, and while some of her connections are....questionable at best, she's found herself in very strange situations as a result of her vast network of allies and close friends.  Whatever the case, everyone from the lowliest farmer, (and often their sons and daughters), to even the King of Hyrule, (that's the hope at least in this time anyway), has heard her whispers in their ear and have found themselves swayed to her way of thinking.
Flaws:

Inexperienced:  In this incarnation, Ganondorva is still very young and hasn't developed the musculature and skills necessary to truly realize her full might, and so given a sufficiently skilled sorcerer or swordsman, she can still be overpowered.  It's happened before and it'll likely happen again, and while she has done much to improve since her first death as Ganondorva, she still has a long road ahead of her yet.

Cursed Existence:  Despite her attempts to break away from Demise's influence and the curse that manifested itself as Ganon, the King of Evil, throughout the ages, Ganondorva is still very much under its influence.  She's changed, there's no argument there, and she's done a great deal of good, but that hunger for power and conquest is still present, but for the moment it's still under her control.  For those that know her well enough though can likely see the inevitable slide for what it is, but whether they do anything about it or not will determine what follows next, but for the moment, she is doing what she can to keep herself from sliding too far into the darkness....
Character Relationships:
Associated NPC's:

The Twins, Kotake and Koume: - While they're far removed from their original forms, (let alone from the pair found in the alternate realm of Termina), Kotake and Koume have been with Ganondorva since she was brought into the world, both times thus far.  Fair and beautiful, the pair are powerful sorceresses in their own right, commanding power over ice and fire, but unlike last time, they are far kinder in this day and age.  They are still prone to bickering between themselves over silly things, as sisters of any kind are prone to do, but they are also very capable healers, magic casters, and they know their way around most forms of poisons, herbal remedies, and Gerudo ritual and rites of womanhood, of which Ganondorva still has one left to go through yet, but since they know her for who and what she is, they're willing to let that one slide for the time being, especially since they know how she plans to complete it...
Character Ons:  While she's not done anything yet, Ganondorva has enjoyed relaxing, stress relieving massages with oil, more often than not, as well as heated baths with candles about the room.  Secretly though, at least for now, she's found she likes the idea of having someone tied up to the wall and teased relentlessly until they're a begging, sweaty mess before taking what she wants from them.  (RP Preferences apply)

Character Offs:  She is the one in control, even when she's tied up and bound at someone else's mercy.  Violence to her person, losing limbs, or dying, (again), are expressively off the table, as is anything related to the bathroom, incest, extreme ageplay, height/weight differences, or beasts. (RP Preferences apply)

Player O/Os:  (RP preferences apply)

Dark Plot Participation: Yes, although it's safer to say she's the reason there's a Dark Plot to begin with.

Other Characters:Current Scenes:Planned Scenes:Well, I got her done, hopefully that'll do it.  I'm open to connections, so feel free to hit me up folks.  :D

Well, I've been thinking about some kind of Goron Monster Hunter/Beast Master for my second character :p Maybe G-dorva commisioned something from him? :p Still need to figure out how boy-midna gets back to hyrule too.

Monsters are still a pretty serious problem, so professional hunters could definitely be a thing Peanuts.  As for Boy Midna, a simple excavation in the desert once ruins were uncovered could be what allows the Twilit back into our realm once the mirror is restored.  Just an idea, which, upon being restored, would likely prompt Midna to want to investigate, or at least send someone out to do so.

Mmm, the mirror was pretty well disintegrated at the end of TP tho, anyway I'm sure we'll figure that out. Finding art for a goron character is proving to be a bit trickier.

It was shattered if I remember, so there would be fragments that could theoretically reconstruct the mirror given time to put them back together properly. ;)

Metraxa

So, uh, dumb question. How long has it been since the plot of BotW/Queen Ganon returned and getting off/resurrected again? I think I missed it in the OP, or at the very least I can't find any mention of it

Vergil1989

Two hundred years since BOTW.  After that, she was born the first time about forty two years ago, lived for twenty one years, died, and was reborn yet again, to our time now.  Twenty one years old Ganondorva is.  Hope that helps.  :D

Right, so I've got a work in progress. Most of the stuff is done though, aside from related NPCs, a flaw/ability, and the O/O stuff which I always have trouble with anyways. I'll probably finish it up when I've had a chance to think on the rest, but I wanted to show what I've been going with so far, for anyone else planning stuff

Player Name: Metraxa

Character Name: Aroll Vexltran

Age: 34

Species: Hylian

Sexual Orientation & Status: Straight/Non-Virgin/Single

Job: Aristocrat/Noble

Personality: Aroll could be seen as a generally friendly person, a cordial and respectful exterior which hides a calculating mind beneath it. While holding a preference to not get his hands dirty, he nonetheless looks out for his own best interests as a priority. To those who hold his respect he is a loyal follower, even if he may still have ambitions of advancement to gain a position he believes that he deserves. To those who do not, well, he has no problem with arranging for humiliation or a dagger, whatever he needs to do to get what he wants Holds an interest in Pre-Calamity history and artifacts, both out of a personal curiosity and professional interest.

Also enjoys horse riding, painting, and watching sunsets.

History: The son of a nobleman whose family had taken up as position at the Hylian court following the resumption of monarchical authority, Aroll was born into a period of what could be lightly described as turmoil. The conspiracy that had raged within the Hylian Kingdom, the assassinations, the political repression, the murders, it had built up an air of fear as the Kingdom tried to find stability and some sense of certainty. It had been some time since Calamity Ganon had been defeated for good, yet it seemed like everything that had been built might slip away again.

That was the era he grew up in, and it shaped him. His father passed on when he was a teen, the result of an unfortunate attack in the countryside. Nonetheless Aroll stepped forward to fill his shoes, integrating himself at court and earning favors, building loyalty for his family and estate. While hardly the richest noble, he was able to parlay into some significant wealth, especially as the Regency ended and the new Zelda stepped up to the throne.

The stories, the memories of what had happened stuck with him though, providing a cautionary tale as well as a tempting possibility. If someone like the great Zelda, or even the Hero Link could be brought down, not just by random monsters but by their own people, then who was to say that they were committed to the throne of Hyrule by right? Even if there was opposition to someone else sitting on the throne, there was plenty of room behind it. And with the right ambition, well....

So he began to scheme and plan, building ties and connections that could be valuable. And all the while, he waited for the right opportunity to use them. When it came he would be ready, and then they'd see just what shape destiny took.

Alignment: Neutral Lawful, or something

Abilities:

  • Espionage - More in the vein of courtly intrigue, Aroll is skilled in the finer points of espionage. Knowing who to talk to, the words to pass along to gain information or let slip disinformation, finding the right people to bribe to accomplish a task that needs done such as smuggling, intimidation, or even murder, that sort of thing
  • Diplomacy and Etiquette - About what it sounds like. When treating with a royal court, one must know all the proper ways to carry oneself, to address other nobles and royals in the proper way that does not cause a scandal, and to earn favor with the people who have the real influence. Years of having to act in this manner, in addition to training, have allowed Aroll to reach a point where he's pretty good at this.
  • Swordplay - While hardly an expert to the level of, say, Link or the Royal Guard, Aroll nonetheless has some experience in the usage of a blade to defend himself, or in more formal combat situations. It can come in handy, and one cannot be too careful even as peace returns to the realm.
  • Archeology - Part hobby, part opportunism, Aroll has built up a decent knowledge of od technology through the recovery and acquisition of Sheikah relics, as well as analysis of ancient ruins and such. While dubiously valuable at the moment, one never knows when this sort of thing could come in handy. It also satisfies his personal interests
  • Ability 5 - Explanation

Flaws:

  • Hubris - With the potential to run into a 'big pond small fish' type situation, and not exactly playing along with the flow of Destiny or what have you, it can be much too easy for Aroll to signs checks he can't cash, or get in over his head deeper than he expects
  • Secluded - In spite of his noble upbringing, Aroll is not as experienced when it comes to worldly matters. He may have an intellectual knowledge but he has little experience dealing with people from beyond Hyrule. This affects the opinions that he makes of them, as well as his interactions with them. It also makes him less effective at cutting deals to further his agenda abroad

Character Relationships:
Associated NPC's:

  • Nazal Ertina - One of Aroll's contacts who specializes in the procurement of artifacts from across Hylia and other countries.
Thiri Azarc - Aroll's personal secretary, who keeps his schedule, writes notes, arranges meetings on the downlow, that sort of thing.
Lita Valarai - An old family friend who had served in the court before Aroll did, he has been something of a mentor to Aroll in helping him get established in the court since taking his position.
Norri Bonteri - The captain of the guards who work for Aroll, handling his security and on occasion his dirty work if he needs to resort to more forceful measures in courtly intrigue.

He looks pretty good already Met, good job all told. :D  I already have the idea he gets it into his head to try and outmaneuver Ganondorva only to end up screwed and trapped under her boot as a result.  She does, after all, have two very capable witches on her side.  One never knows if they're being spied on through magical means lol.  That aside, take your time since everyone here is being a bit slow, but that's alright.  :D  I'd rather they take their time anyway and be certain than not.

Link: *glares at Aroll and make sure he knows her preference for keeping the master sword nice and razor sharp* ;)

He seems like quite the interesting one. Hopefully he proves smart enough to not give Link cause to liberate his hands or head from his person in his quest to climb the political ladder...not that Link exactly cares for who sits on the throne as long as Hyrule's people are treated well. >:)

Warrior of balance ftw! xD

Hey there I might be interested, I'm kinda picturing a female Zora character in my head.

Peanuts

One with an eyepatch perhaps? :p

Hmm, we'd just need a Rito then to finish representing the main four (Non-Hylian) races of BotW

I'll be working on this much more tomorrow as time and my muse permits, but I wanted you guys to both, get a good look at the general history as told by Ganondorva herself, as well as to know that THIS is still going to happen, one way or the other.  :P  I plan to redo the beginning post to reflect this, (or simply delete this one once I get a new one properly set up instead of half assing things as I have thus far), but either way, this is still happening.

ON THAT NOTE however, if any of you have ideas for anything, feel free to leave something either here in detail, if you please, or in my PM box.  See ya!

I'd love to try a Zelda RP!

Peanuts mentioned y'all not having a Rito....I kinda like a bird girl concept but dunno if I want a beaked char (kinda limits what she can do with her mouth...)...would a crossbreed Rito/Hylian or /Kokiri be OK?

Or, some sort of kokiri or farm girl or royal handmaid kinda like Saria or Malon from the games

ff

Tentative avatar for a Hylian or Kokiri character

Zelda franchise but I don't think it's meant to be Zelda herself, what with the darker hair color

Occident

Been a fair while since I was on a forum RP, and am wondering on my current skills. May I ask, if this is still being done, what the general post size preferences are going to be? I adore world building, but haven't had the most chances to practice recently.
