~Annabelle is the youngest and only surviving daughter of a mining couple. She's been working at a clothing store in the small town where she's always lived and doing her best to save enough money to get out. The man she's been dating is not the man she thought he was and one night he shows his true colors. It's all she can do to get away from him with her life and her body in tact. She flees up the nearby mountain to get away from the man she thought was going to be her future. Disoriented and in the dark, frightened half out of her wits, she ends up on the land of a Mountain Family. Against his better judgement, the son of the Elder Father saves Annabelle and hides her from the jerk who's chasing her and looks to be intent on hurting her. He takes her without much of a word to his home and hides her until morning whereupon he must claim her for his own or she becomes the property of the family and can be claimed by any unmarried man.~
