For those familiar with Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson book series, this game is based on the Roman myth in a alternate universe.

For those who do not know about the series but are still interested. The Greek/Roman gods are very real and love to make babies with the mortal women on earth which result in demigods offspring. Demigods have molded history from Achilles to George Washington (Demigods).

(Roman) Camp Jupiter will not follow the book series (Alternate Universe). This game began before information was released what resulted was a unique camp setting with a very in depth plot for avid Percy Jackson readers or those just interested in Roman/Greek myth games.

Our Game rules.
1. I will read this post
2. The Roman camp is not for the weak.
3. The Lupa, director of the camp raises the campers from age 2 and will not think twice about letting a child die if it is not strong enough.
4. The camp is located somewhere in the Bay Area (California).
5. The Roman versions of the Greek Pantheon are the parents, they are more warlike, disciplined and formal.
6. The Roman and Greek camps have been kept secret about one another after the Demigod Civil war which occurred around the time of the US Civil War.

Sidenote- I am not looking into making this game revolve specifically around sex, it can happen between the campers but if any future character is simply coming into the game for that purpose only they will be kicked from the game. I am setting the age limit from 16-22. If you are seeking a sex/smut driven plot, this is not the game for you.

Game Synopsis

Time Setting-Modern day, Summer 2011

Game Setting

Camp Half Blood throws the Summer banquet, a welcoming feast for all the campers of Camp Half-Blood located in the Bay Area of California. (Hidden from mortal eyes on the hills by the magical force known as "the mist"). The camp serves as a haven for Demigods, children of the Roman Pantheon. At this camp, children are normally raised from age 2 until they die or decide to make a life of their own in the mortal world. Some campers choose to stay forever, very few heroes (demigods) make it past their twenties, those who do are some of the world's most influential people.

The Lupa, the wolf who raised Romulus and Remus is the camp director, she along with Achilles- The hero of the Trojan War and a Amazon Queen, Bremusa, make up the staff who overlook and raise the children of the gods. Fauns serve as friends and workers for the camper, they assist demigods willingly, most of them. The surrounding areas are populated by friendly wood nymphs, waters spirits and creatures who live in harmony with the campers.

It has been over the ten years since the last child has entered the camp. Leaving most of the campers ranging from 13-20. At fist no one seemed to worry but after elven years, at the Summer Banquet the very first new demigods began to arrive. Fauns are starting to locate demigods and bring them to camp, but something is wrong, this is not the way of the Roman camp. The Lupa is meant to raise the demigods children and make sure they are worthy of being Roman Offspring or they are devoured by her.

Annoyed by the sudden influx of new campers and more to come! The Lupa ordered a "Death March"- A march in full armor through the camp, a test of strength and endurance. Achilles, the trainer of Heroes, marched the campers out into "No Man's Land" the surrounding areas outside of the camps magically defended walls. Difficult obstacles and traps awaited the campers, but no one suspected the workings of an unknown force who managed to resurrect the fallen demigods and create them into a horde of skeleton warriors.

The campers rallied and fought valiantly but few were lost in the surprise attack, but had to retreat since only a child of Pluto can fully kill the undead.

Retreating back to the camp, bloody, muddy and morale at an all time low. The campers try to heal their wounds and raise their spirits, hoping from word of the gods to find out what is going on!

Meanwhile in other parts of the world...

The Greek Camp, having seen a vision of the turmoil to come dispatched a group of heroes to seek a "seer" to make sense of the lines of prophecy they had recovered onto to be ambushed by the Venti. Four campers, Vincent, Libby, Valentine and Jason start their journey only to be detoured and crash land within the Roman camp's borders. Chiron, the leader of the Greek camp, afraid of repeating past civil war, erases the memories of the Greek camp of three of the four, the other (Jason) lost in the conflict with the wind spirits. Under attack by an unknown force,  Chiron weaves his spell, the Greek camp "retreats" across the sea with the remaining campers, leaving the Roman camp in charge of the whole United States.

Jason awakens in Florida, unknowingly in a property of his father after nearly falling to hid death from the chariot accident that separated him from the other Greek heroes. The seer they had sought stumbles into the home, chasing after a red Pegasus and sharing her tail of kidnapping and a very large piece of a jumbled puzzle. Neptune, god of the sea has been captured and with his Greek counterpart struggling to maintain both oceans from tearing the world apart, the sky soon falters as Jupiter leaves his domain to find his missing sibling.

In New York, another human with "gifts" is taken in by a loving couple who are later revealed keepers of a hidden patch of "wylde". Whatever attacked the Roman camp seeks to destroy this leyline that nourishes and keeps the flora and fauna of the north east alive and take possession of the human female.

Back at the camp

The campers continue to find campers arriving, unclaimed children of age arrive which had many excited but the Lupa herself enraged until an actual child is brought into the camp. With preparations for war in the process,  the new campers arrive at the worst times. War looms on the horizon...

TheHangedOne

Name: Fatuus Aurelius
God or Goddess Parent: Auster
Claimed or Unclaimed: Claimed
Age: 17
Any Background Info: Fatuus has been in the camp since he turned two years of age.  Froma  young age, he has shown keen intellect and analytical abilities. He is physically robust and strong enough to have survived the training at the camp, even though his mental prowess is his greatest strength.

Well known as a trickster, when something goes wrong and their's no immediate culprit, he's usually blamed for it. It is not nearly always his fault, but he still has that reputation.

Incredibly capricious and whimsical, most have come to expect his... eccentric (to put it nicely) behavior.

Not one to anger lightly. While it is true that the gods and their children are not ones to be trifled with, he is known to carry a grudge to extremes. His slippery, elusive nature also means that it is usually difficult for one to anticipate his retaliations.
Fatal Flaw: Can not work side by side with another; while he may be able to work as a part of a greater whole, he can not perform any task alongside another person. Those who fight with him risk dying at his hands, through no ill intention of his own; and any other task will similarly meet with similar, drastically bad results.

Weapon or Skill: Prefers to fight with thrown objects (Knives, axes, discus, javelin, etc.; he is equally skilled with them all).
Minor control over the wind (He could create a cool, refreshing breeze, or hide his scent by fiddling with the wind, and maybe move small (less than three pound) objects, but nothing majorly strong).
Having an absurd amount of physical stamina, and speed, thus, like the wind itself, becoming able to cover great distances in relatively small amounts of time. Don't worry, though, he won't be moving much  faster than a Kenyan (No offense intended; they are the fastest runners in the world).
Wind-riding. Essentially short bouts of flying.  Probably not going more than sixty feet in one go, somewhat tiring.
Fog creation. Exactly what it sounds like. He is able to create fog. This is easier to do when conditions are ideal, in terms of temperature, moisture, etc. Assuming ideal fog creating conditions, he could blanket a square mile in moderate fog in about ten minutes.
Physical Description:
Fatuus has long, blond hair, which comes down to the bottom of his shoulder blades, and which has a tendency to appear as if it is constantly being caressed by the wind, even in locations that have no air flow.  Despite wearing it loose, it never falls into his face. His eyes are dark green, the color of jade.  He is about five feet, eight inches tall, and almost always grinning. He has a very vibrant, vivacious, almost over-exaggerated way of carrying himself.
Extra info- Gets along fairly well with all the wind spirits, gods, and just about any entity related to birds. Also gets along well with fellow trickster gods/demigods/spirits/et al.
Future Goals: Nothing concrete. That would actually require planning of some sort!
Fears: Being restrained (figuratively or literally), serious commitments of any sort, spiders.
Likes: Being right, when the wind is blowing, being outside, A well played trick or prank, jokes, general merriment.
Dislikes: Gloominess, bright lights, being indoors, people that are "too serious".

already approved by me but here are the images I think might work
the model is Travis Fimmel -- very windswept and interesting

I'll keep looking if these aren't good enough
just wait for Aiden to give the final approval
might need to do a bit to his background history - just state he's been in the camp since he was two and should be solid enough  ;D

I did the edit. Thanks for the pic, Kendra; he works quite well for what I imagine him as being.

Niferbelle

Here is my prospective new camper!

Name: Darian Alexander
God or Goddess Parent: Hermes
Claimed or Unclaimed: Unclaimed
Age: 19

Any Background Info: Regina Alexander was once a woman of accomplishment, a rising member of the astronaut corps with one mission under her belt and a future that seemed to be limitless before her. But that was before Darian was born and he only remembers a sad woman, plagued by mental illness and paranoid visions, who eventually was institutionalized which led to his long history with the foster care system. He didn't have the best luck with in this regard, you could almost say he was cursed, and was bounced around from one bad circumstance to another. This led to him being a 'troubled' kid and eventually landed him in a halfway house for delinquents where he finally lucked out. He was discovered there by a sharp eyed satyr scout who was the first to tell him what he was and took him to Camp Halfblood. Darian spent summers there then returned to the Houston area where his mother is institutionalized for the winters, looking out for himself on the streets rather than going back into the system. Though it's fairly clear who his father is, Darian has never been claimed for some reason, and yeah, he had a little resentment about that for a long time but he's gotten to the point where he's done waiting for Daddy's approval and is ready to make his own way. It's what he does best after all.
Darian did pretty well at camp. Though taciturn by nature and not one to adhere strictly to the rules where they were an inconvenience, he also proved to have a level head on his shoulder and never started any trouble with anybody who didn't deserve it.

Fatal Flaw: Finds it nearly impossible to trust things to others...to rely on anyone but himself.

Weapon or Skill: Darian carries with him a compliment of throwing knives which he has learned to recall back to him when in line of sight.  He also recently acquired a breastplate that looks like a simple sweatshirt most of the time but in the presence of monsters reverts to form yet remains light, allowing him greater maneuverability. He fights two handed with long sword and dirk, celestial bronze weapons that were presented to him when he volunteered to stay behind while the younger campers were evacuated. Through the use of his weapons he is able to teleport small distances in a fight as he effectively 'cuts' the fabric of space and slips through it to better position. This is very draining however and he has yet to perfect a 'cold' teleport or managed to travel more than a few feet but he's working on it.
Given his rough past, he excels at many of the larcenous arts and he can hotwire and drive almost anything with wheels. He's impressively stealthy when he puts his mind to it, and as you would expect of a child of Hermes, there are few that could beat him in a foot race.

Physical Description: Darian is just shy of 6' tall, lean and wiry in build, with a host of small scars on his hands and arms from years of training. Not bulky in build, it's clear his martial ability relies on agility and speed as well as strength. His complexion is light olive, his hair an inky black, both in stark contrast to his pale blue eyes that seem to jump right out of his face. In the rare occasion when he gets angry, others have described his eyes as becoming 'silvered' but he largely dismisses this. His hair is cut short though a little shaggy in the back, revealing pierced ears in which he wears diamond studs, something he takes a lot of flak for.

Future Goals: To prove he doesn't need anybody's approval to kick butt and take care of himself. He's also begun to suspect that something otherworldly is causing his mother's madness and is determined to get to the bottom of it and if possible cure her.

Fears: On the other hand, he also worries maybe she really is just a nutcase and that someday the same thing could happen to him. After all, she seemed normal for a long time before she cracked.

Likes: Motorcycles, observing, succeeding without his father's approval, smart girls, a little bling

Dislikes: Manual labor, crowds, hospitals, people with a sense of entitlement, waiting around for people

Kendra

yeah ... hmmm not sure about this one *goes off to think a minute*

...  ;D

kidding of course.
He's completely and utterly approved by the GM's - like I said the detail is fantastic and really shows you know the setting ;)
Thanks Niferbelle.

Looking for another 3-4 male demigods characters and then after that, we might open the game to new female characters.

Bloody Rose

I am interested in joining, however I have no idea what to make, any suggestions?

Aiden

It depends on the type of character you like to make.

If you want to be a tactician and still be good in combat- Minerva

A war hungry berserk type (at times) and over all master of battle- Mars

A pretty boy playboy charmer- Venus

etc etc- Each Demigod has their own strengths and weaknesses.

Good Archer- Apollo

Good at farming and raising plants- One of the harvest gods.

All demigods are also combat worthy, not as strong as Minerva or Mars but their skills can be used in beneficial way. You can be creative.

Example- A child of Apollo can be like a bard and inspire with music/song.
Children of Harvest gods, can make thorns and use plant life to help kill monsters in battle.

The game is not heavily combat focused but you will run into Greek/Roman myth monsters once in a while. With it being a Rome setting, politics will also be in play at some point.

Bloody Rose

mmm nah I will pass. I don't really have a muse for it right now, if that change I will let you know.

Aiden

Haloriel

~squints and peers~  Presuming the list in bold above is the available parent of a demi-god?  Oooh.  The child of a muse.  I generally play females, but as you're looking for males I could be convinced presuming you've still the space. ~smiles~

Kendra

We didn't bother putting any of the muses up because our list was extensive enough and they're affiliated any how with Apollo. That's not to say we'd rule them out though.
We are only accepting male characters but we definitely do have space still available. Just make sure please to read everything posted in the first and third posts regarding the game.

Thank you, Kendra.  I've sent a PM to both yourself and Aiden with a few questions before I begin creating.  A male demigod is perfectly acceptable.  O:)

Here is my prospective new camper!

Name: Ambrose William Carlisle
God or Goddess Parent: Cupid
Claimed or Unclaimed: Claimed
Age: 22

Background Info: Ambrose was born to Dr. Amelia Carlisle, a fellow in Ancient History and Mediterranean Archaeology at UC Berkeley.  A very sweet woman adored by her students, something of her mannerisms reminded the god of love and desire of Psyche.  Amelia had long considered herself beyond offspring, but her very tactical mind also garnered the fickle god’s attention.  A single week of wooing and evenings of dinner in tender courtship - and Ambrose was the eventual result.  He was claimed upon his first birthday, and the following year the nymph watching over the pair took the toddler to the Jupiter Camp to begin his years there.

It has been twenty years since then, and Ambrose keeps contact with his mother; she loves her son and the feelings are returned.  Due his strength and combat expertise - in addition to his magic that marks him plainly as a child of Cupid, he and his father have a warm, cordial relationship as much as one can expect between a god and their many, many children.  Dr. Carlisle named her son cleverly for both her own English-American heritage, and his father.  The name Ambrose roughly translates to ‘immortal’, and the name William translates to the words ‘desire and protection’, which are evocative of the parentage of Cupid himself: the goddess Venus and the god Mars.  He’s spent a fair amount of time still with his mother when permitted by the Lupa.  Training is especially important to him, and he enjoys anything beautiful.

He is proficient in several languages, and has a gift with words.

Fatal Flaw: His tendency to rise to anger/passion can be blinding.

Weapon or Skill: Spears, Archery, Swords, and Shields are weapons he is especially skilled in - though not to the degree of a child of Mars.  Can draw others to him with attraction and desire, tends to be very difficult not to like.  Dirt, grime and sweat seem just unable to remain upon him, even in the deepest, most difficult battle and training sessions, and his attire is always neat, as are his quarters to an exacting manner - which are skills that to a minor degree he has needed to actively hone rather than having all of the natural attributes of a child of Venus.

Physical Description: Ambrose is relatively tall but not overly so, standing to an inch below six feet, or 1.8 metres.  He has a very direct, intense gaze that seems calm until he needs to act and not before, unless his temper and somewhat fickle nature are riled.  His blue eyes are captivating and steady, while his jawline is generally just touched with a shadow of blonde hair that is a few shades darker than that on his head.

Ambrose is prone to smiling even when angry, and has a defined physique even though he is not so large as many demigods, he is quick with quite a number of weapons.  He tends toward the use of dual swords when not practising with a shield.  When he smiles, it is a mischievous one yet draws the watcher close.  When angered, the presence of a child of Venus has a calming affect.

Future Goals: A family of his own, true godhood.
Fears: Being disliked, not being successful in battle.
Likes: Beauty, poetry, training, music, tactical games.
Dislikes: Rudeness, dishonour in battle.
