Zephram Cochran, a human living on Earth, unlocks the secret to warp drive with his ship, the Phoenix.  A Vulcan ship attempts to make contact, but is intercepted by a Klingon warship.  What follows is a long, drawn out battle between Klingon warriors and humans, a battle that lasts over a century before Chancellor Ne'maq declares Earth worthy of becoming a member of the Empire, the spirit of human honor having impressed him greatly.  As equals, humans prove their worth, going so far as to reshape Klingon honor into something more akin to their own Bushido code, with warriors being wise and honorable, and choosing when and where they strike their blades.

This is an era of great expansion for the Empire, and it is one that humans and Klingons together will revel in song and glory.

This thread was recently closed because so far, every character (as of the time of this edit) have been a complete non-start.  Oversexualized and completely missing the point, it runs counter to the entire premise of the story.  Why am I harping on this?  Because I do not want a repeat of this.  I want a game that has actual plot, with characters that will face challenges and situations where they will swear, fight, bleed, and maybe even die.  Will there be sex?  Probably.  Will it be one sexual adventure from start to end?  NO.  Not even close.

This is a game I envision with plot.  With characters deeper than the size of their sexual organs.  Everything they are revolves around honor and a quest for glory, and they will be Klingons or Humans.  This is about two groups that still simmer underneith, wanting to show the other up, that the other is inferior and worthless.  I don't want this to be a game of hide the sausage.  If you can't understand this, please move on.  Because I've already denied 3 characters, I'm not afraid to deny more.

So please, before my anxiety attack flares again, PLEASE try to bear with me as I try to maintain some level of control and situational awareness in an attempt to keep from lashing out at people.  I will treat you fairly if you will just read.  Thank you.

I have a hologram idea from some games which already died.  Would that be acceptable or is it too early in the timeline?

*they have four genders, some genetic work is trying to make that into two genders the Shen is the female that takes in the male part then transfers it to the female Zhen to carry the offspring and who adds half the female genetic material between them

Role aboard: Communications & Lingusitics Specialist

Brief History: Born on the homeworld in a respectable quad she was raised with the usual love and affection for children in all races and entered the service after tending to her duties as a genetic part of the mating, the proud parent of four children two sons and two daughters but are being raised back home. Has the usual Andorian honor backed by the services code of education and warfare but is actually rather peaceful she will defend herself and her crew she is no coward just thinks of such skills as more suited to an artform and as a form of fitness so prefers to avoid combat. Is very sensuous and tends to when off duty dresses to show off her form and when on leave naturally or in a social setting permitting her to dress as she wishes and enjoys taking lovers, is in fact happy the IFP added planets like Risa to the list.

Additional Information: Is still married to her Quad in fact the Zhen is her wife for all intensive purposes and they spend time when she has leave, but does take lovers of other females when on duty station in the Fleet approved of by the family to provide a healthy outlet. Finds the move to go to two genders offensive but support science to make the existing process better seeing a need for a higher species reproduction rate. Sorry about the photo I couldn't get it to work with the code provided I might have been doing something wrong.

Name: Tisha
Race: Hologram
Gender: Female by default
Sexual Pref: Prefers females

Role aboard: Holodeck hostess

Brief History:  Tisha started out as a simple holodeck waitress designed as a place for the crew to unwind.  Although the program started out rather simple, various crew members added bits and pieces to it over time, solidifying and complicating matters until it was a far more spacious estate.

The ship's captain at the time, an Admiral Jessica Hackinsworth, developed a passing fondness for the waitress.  During her spare time in the holodeck, she wrote up a number of additions to the program, naming her Tisha and spending a lot of time at the beach.  Although her high rank did not allow her many friends or lovers, her own companion made the tedium of Starfleet more bearable.

As Tisha started to grow more and more knowledgeable, she was eventually shut down, and her program was tweaked and prodded in order to try to understand what happened and what was going on.  Eventually, they reactivated her in order to ask her a number of questions, and her first question was where Jessica was.  By that time, Admiral Hackinsworth had been destroyed by a Romulan warbird.

Determining that the best course of action was to place her onboard a ship where she could be both studied and allowed to live in peace, she and her holodeck program were uploaded onto the Divine Justice, allowing the crew a place of respite and a companion to discuss troubling issues.

Distinguishing Marks:  Although she's a human female by default, she doesn't mind having the occasional minor alteration to her program in order to better serve the needs of the customers.

Personality:  Cheerful and sympathetic

Additional Information:  I left a lot of stuff vague so that the holodeck things could fit in fairly well.  The way I wrote it up, things could be as far back as TNG.  I figure she'll start off limited to the holodeck and just know what's going on in the rest of the ship by way of the computer, but as time goes on, they can set up other things as well as let her program further advance to give her other tasks.  As I see it, she'll start out in mostly a Guinan role of bartender and unofficial counselor...with benefits.

If any of this doesn't work right, let me know.

Yeah uh... I think we're going to skip on the hologirl.  In fact, both characters are a no go.  They're too... sexual x.x

When I picture this roleplay, it's not so much sexual but more... we're human, we're warriors along with Klingons, we're not going to sit around a fancy holodeck resteraunt waiting our turn with the hostess or the Andorian comm officer.  We will act civil, but we're still tough as steel.  Get what I mean?

It's fine hun it's just... there's so much sexual stuff here that it's hard to find RP that's built on an actual foundation sometimes.  It makes me sad :(

Well, one writeup for Tisha was that she's an Auxillary Security Hologram, similar to the EMH if you're a heretic like me and has seen Voyager.  Basically, redshirt holograms which are harder to kill than normal people and don't end up being such a casual waste of sentient life.  That might be too far in the future from what you were planning the game to be, though.

Well my character can fight she might prefer to talk first but is not a wimp, Andorians will still fight and are usually good at it. And on her off time she likes sports and likely will take a lover or two, and dress off duty. That outfit is not her normal attire by the way that is just the pic I could find for my character think bridge officer uniform. Koshi in Enterprise was not useless and she was in the same role and I would think a communications officer and decryptionan linguist would be needed when patroling along an enemy boarder.

And frankly if there is no hanky panky at all why is this in Groups Wanted and not under Non-Adult Roleplays, its fine but I assume up here in this thread its going to have adult things going on at times. I said take lovers I did not say is a whore, odds are she would have one on the ship maybe and if they stop for R&R it would be okay or if her wife was visiting while they were docked near Andoria.

I just since I'm more comfortable with it wanted a less prominant role than captain, first officer, security chief and so forth but useful.

I'm interested. It's wonderful to see a game with plot-based foundations.

Before I went ahead crafting a character, I wanted to ask how long it had been since humanity became part of the Klingon Empire? Would it be feasible for someone to have been born on Earth, and then have been raised with a hybridized human/Klingon value system?
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

GloomCookie

We are at a point roughly akin to the late Kirk era, one where humans and Klingons have been working together for roughly 30 years or so.  There's still a bit of animosity among the elder generations of humans, but the younger generation has grown up being offered a chance to show the Klingons that humans are better.  The hybridized crew is seen by some Klingons as a taint, that humans have no honor and shouldn't be allowed to do anything but mine rocks and lick Klingon boots, but that's slowly being overcome as humans prove to be tenacious warriors and very cunning.

Humans were allowed to settle a few off-world colonies, mostly just a joint colony opposite a Klingon one with a small Klingon garrison.  There are plenty of human/klingon hybrids running around mostly due to rapes and what not, though the dishonor lies with their father's forceful use of the mother and not with the bastard son or daughter (hence TOS style ridge-less Klingons ;)).

Oh, and the uniforms.
Klingon uniforms tend to be predominantly leather, often with armor strips or woven directly into the uniform.  They are made to deflect minor knife attacks, and they often enhance the shoulders of the wearer to make them appear more intimidating.  Often, skilled warriors from noble houses wear bandoliers with their house crests and ranks of battle at all times, as a show of authority and power.

Humans tend towards more practical uniforms, uniforms that denote duty over that of being a warrior.  They do this to differentiate themselves, as well as simply because it works.  Rather than shirts of a single color, their uniforms feature bands of color that denote their stations, meaning at a glance they can tell who's who.

How much time passes between the start of TNG and this game?  I'll admit that I'm not that familiar with TOS.

Rysorian Racial Powers:
Blue wings: Minor healing, Telepathy, Extra-Spatial Awareness (If a Temporal Anomaly changes the timeline, she might be somewhat effected at first but gradually her original memories will return and she'll be one of the few who knows something has changed), Sense precense (Able to sense the precense of powerful beings others may not notice).
Being the rarest of all Rysorians, the Blue winged ones are quite coveted by the races that know of their exsistance. In few instances wars have been started over such a prize as this. A universe wide rumour spreads aobut the sparce ports, usually along the lines of: "If one owns a blue Rysorian, one shall have fame, fortune, and glory at their fingertips." Certainly never disproven but oftne times this means enslavement for the Soft spoken blue wings.

Black Wings: Psi-Poison (Touch), Pyro Illusion Psi-Pain (touch).
Those with Black wings act more like succubi, often taking the name and augmenting their wings to look more like demon wings by manner of illusion. Able to inflict pain and poison with a touch and create the illusion of fire, these blacks are quite feared.

White wings: (Still in development) Stronger Telepathy than blue wings, Psi-shock (Touch).
Zealots by nature, these wings are feared because they will nto hesitate to burn anything they feel impure and unclean, they are rare simply because they get themselves killed more often than not with their "holier than thou" attitudes.

and now for Mimari:

Name: Mimari
Gender: Female
race: Rysorian (blue wing)
Appearence: (visual) http://i427.photobucket.com/albums/pp359/KawaiiMewGirl/Tokyo%20Mew%20Mew/Sailor%20Moon/Anime%20Angels/Anime_angel2.png
(Written) Mimari stands around 5'4" tall, slender in looks with a B cup for breast size. She has dark Blue ankle length hair and silver colored eyes that hold just a hint of ice. Her wings she can hide on a whim are pale blue in color and resemble a typical angel's wing. When hidden they appear as a raised tattoo on her back.

Personality: Soft spoken and very shy, Mimari is quite the innocent, and still thinks there is good in people despite the cruelty shown to her in her lifetime. However until she is certain, she will very rarely speak and usually communicates telepathically.

Meet Mimari, my blue winged Rysorian, and some info about their racial powers.. Just in case ya wnana use some yourself there Linna ^^

I'll adapt her to the current character template here in a bit.

Name: Daphne Cassidy
Race: Human
Age: 33 Earth years
Gender: Female
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual

Position: Chief Medical Officer (I can play numerous roles depending on what is needed)

Brief History: Born on Earth in what was the United Kingdom on May 24th. Her parents both are medical officers.  She followed in  heir footsteps, training at the Imperial Federations Medical Institute.  Her training was based on Earth and Quo'nos. She excelled, understanding both human and Klingon physiology.

She graduated after 4 years joining a small medical vessel where she progressed up the ranks to Lieutenant (or the equivalent).  She is awaiting assignment to a deep space exploration vessel as CMO.

Personality: Daphne is a cool, calm individual who enjoys looking after people.  A very dedicated doctor she puts her profession before her rank.  She is intelligent, quick witted and has a wicked sense of humour.

In  professional capacity she is a hard worker, hating to let things get the better of her.  She studies hard, always looking to find a way to ease pain or cure illness.  Her research into various illnesses is making her quite a name in the scientific field.

Hard working and not afraid to stand up for what she believes in Daphne does not suffer fools and has no time for those who try to use illness as a way to get out of work.

Loyal, believes that Klingons and Humans have a strong future working together.

Looking to write.  Sometimes life catches up with me.  If it does I will be back...

When I ask this, I just want to make sure that I understand the timeline for this game.

With First Contact, humans and Klingons get into a war that lasts around ~200 years. Memory Alpha gives 2063 as the date of First Contact, so that brings us up to ~2263. This is when humans get brought into Klingon Empire. I'm guessing, initially, humans operate independently for a while. The game will start ~2294 (Memory Alpha has TNG starting in 2364, and the game is mentioned to start about 70 years prior to TNG). Human/Klingon joint operations start approximately 2264, as it has been mentioned that humans and Klingons have only been working together about thirty years. This also seems to fit, since the elder generation of humanity would have actually fought against Klingons in the war, while there is a new generation of humans who have been raised knowing nothing but being part of the Empire.

Am I on the right track here? I just want to have it right in my head so that if I end up being accept, I playing in a way that's true to the game concept and foundation.

Name: Vlad Rasputin
Race: Augment
Gender: Male
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual

Position: Marine

Brief History: In light of humanity's relative physical frailty, a group of scientists decided to return to the dreaded science of eugenics in order to produce better soldiers for the Empire. These augments were cultured and raised on Earth, and subjected to training and education that would ideally forge them into strong, honourable warriors. Taught never to retreat, and never to surrender, their superior ambition was bent to turning their superior abilities to earning a place of pride and prominence for humanity within the Empire. Some children refused to submit their ambition to this task, and, desiring to become latter-day Khans, decided to go rogue. They were subsequently hunted down by their brothers and sisters - the most dangerous game of all. Vlad proved an especially relentless hunter, by necessity, as the rogues became more cunning in their flight and in their hiding. One even made it so far as Luna before Vlad ran his prey to ground, winning in a zero-g duel to the death.

Vlad has served in combat with honour and distinction. He was placed upon a grand ship, with an honourable captain eager for glorious combat. It is a good time for him to be alive; he may live to dispel notions of human cowardice and ineptitude.

Distinguishing Marks: Vlad has silver coloured irises.

Personality: Solemn and given to introspection, Vlad is not given to the boisterous nature of the stereotypical Klingon warrior. He is, however, not excessively grim nor unduly melancholy. In his private time he chooses to read philosophy, human and Klingon alike. It is a favoured pass-time of his to debate points of philosophy with those Klingons who embrace their spirituality and are inclined to consider philosophical matters in addition to the raw physicality of warriordom. Vlad has ambitions to one day command a ship and soldiers of his own, and human methods of gaining power gnaw at the back of his mind, conflicting with the ideals of honour, duty, and loyalty he has been instilled with.

Additional Information: Vlad has been trained, in addition to standard human phaser weapons, to dual-wield combat knives. His skill is great, and is easily the match of many Klingons armed with traditional Klingon melee weapons. His Augmented physiology gives him certain advantages over the baseline of humanity: remarkably agile, five times stronger than a normal human, resistant to sickness, enhanced senses, possessing heart muscles twice as strong and lung efficiency 50%greater than normal. He shows greater resistance to energy weapons than a normal human, and his natural lifespan may be as much as double that of a normal human. (however, given the rigors of combat he is sure to be exposed to, it is unlikely this will be demonstrated)
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

GloomCookie

I'm actually happy with the way your character shaped up.  The 'war' in question was more of a simmering thing than all out conflict, since there were Klingon troops in every major city on Earth maintaining order.  However, Earth is a big place, and our war-like nature sometimes means we can hide a few tricks up our sleeves.  So Cold Heritage, you're approved, but be mindful you'll be the only augment for now (unless someone can convince me otherwise).

Humans operated fairly independently though under constant Klingon supervision.  They were allowed to maintain a few system patrol ships (no warp drives) and a few freighters, but it was only 30 years ago that they were allowed to start serving first aboard Klingon vessels, and now the first human designed ships are coming online.  For the purposes of this game, we're going with an Abbe class cruiser (pictured left), which serves as a torpedo boat more than anything.  It's a chance to show the Empire what Humans can do, especially in situations where Klingons have failed before (thus the Empire believes Humans will naturally fail too).  I can't wait yay!
