Lost Viking

For those unfamiliar with Recettear I recommend you click the following link and then get the game. It's absolutely amazing.

Welcome to the village of Pensee. A rather large city surrounded by various dungeons and ruins. Within lives an assortment of villagers, merchants and adventurers of differant believes, cultures, even species.

Services offered through out the city include the Chapel of Faiths, a church housing numerous and diverse religious practices.

The Market, although not an actual business or shop, it allows villagers and travellers to trade or purchase mundane, day to day, and used items.

The Merchant's Guild, where traders, craftsmen and shopkeeps come to discuss the politics of business, advance their careers or buy basic stock at a low price.

The Adventurer's Guild, where the strong and brave go to hire themselves as escorts and protectors for those looking to traverse or plunder the riches of the nearby ruins. All adventurers need to be registered with the guild and have earned their guild card before being allowed to escort villagers.

The Pub, where almost everyone and anyone can be found. Be it a nice evening dinner, drinking binge, socializing or job hunting, the pub can help you.

And finally a rather new Item Shop up on top of the hill. It's purpose, goals and impact in Pensee have yet to be revealed.

I'll need a single player who wants to own and run the new shop. One or two other players to be shop assistants. Everyone else can either be an adventurer or villager depending on your preferance. Keep your race within the realm of fantasy. The most tech I'll allow will follow that of the character Arma in the actual game. I'll only allow two of those kind of technologically advance characters at most. I'll post a CS sheet format once I've answered what questions I may have.

This sounds like a cute idea! I wouldn't mind playing the shop owner, if you'll have me. Otherwise, I could be an assistant or perhaps a traveler.

Lost Viking

Awesome. One or two assistants and a couple of adventurers and we're set. Heres the CS format. I also forgot to add that the purpose of the shop is in order to pay off a massive debt to the Terme Finance Company.

this lighthearted I could use some easy fun and I feel like using the character in my new Icon for something
Prudence, justice, temperance, courage, faith, hope, love...
debate any other aspect of my faith these are the heavenly virtues. this flawed mortal is going to try to adhere to them.

Culture: the ability to carve an intricate and beautiful bowl from the skull of a fallen enemy.
Civilization: the ability to put that psycho in prision for killing people.

Xenolord

As much as this game kicks my ass six ways to sunday, I love it, and wouldn't mind throwing my hat in either one of the assistants (I suppose Tear's off limits, eh?) Or maybe one of the adventurers.

Either Way:

Player Name: Xenolord
Name: Maria Deveroux
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Special Skills or Talents: Master Swordswoman and accomplished Archer
Magical Abilities or Spells: Can enchant her arrows to explode on contact
Sexuality: Bisexual
Picture: Maria, standing at six five, is medium sized, and well fit for an adventurer. Preferring to go into most situations in little-to-no armor, it is a wonder she's still alive. Her green hair and red eyes can be associated to her rather unique birth conditions and her higher-then-usual magical connection.
Character Bio: Born to Sebastian and Molly Deveroux, Maria is a trump card of the Adventurer's Guild. Rash, impulsive, and extremely hypersensative to magic, Maria has seen little combat outside of her own practice sessions, and has little 'escort' experience, often charging into battle with little reguard for anything, despite the dampening field which prevents monsters from seeing anyone but her.

Or, if not her:

Player Name: Xenolord
Name: Sera Nerra
Gender: Female
Race: Elven
Special Skills or Talents: Quite a number-cruncher, very apt at finacial escapades.
Magical Abilities or Spells: None.
Sexuality: Lesbian
Picture or Description: Sera, standing at five eight is a slender, almost ethereal figure amongst elven society. Her uncanny ability to crunch the most obscure number combinations has earned her place in the Terme Finance Company.
Character Bio: No one can claim to know the identity of Sera's parents, though they were said to be Elven Royalty, and gave her the best education possible, her strange affiliation to numbers coming from such roots. She's recently taken a job she's probably wished she wouldn't have.

So, tell me which you'd perfer\need more of.

Lost Viking

@Ironwolf: Yes, this'll be pretty lighthearted.

@XenoLord: You can use whatever ya want. I have no preferance towards either. I see alot of people coming and going so I'm trying to keep this casual. In face, you can go ahead and play both if you want. As far as the role of this games "Tear", I was going to fill that role myself, aswell as the Merchant's guild master and the Pub owner.

I need to lighten up. more later it's late right now
Player Name: Ironwolf85
Character Name: Gerard Solam
Gender: Male
Race: half-celestrial (Pegasus bloodline) human
Special Skills or Talents (If any): skilled in forging and blacksmithing, and excellent with a sword, prefering to remain light and fast in combat.
Magical Abilities or Spells (If any): Flight and healing, this is especally potent as he has access to rez spells.
Sexuality: Straight
Picture or Description:

Character Bio: Gerard started as a white mage and healer, from the local Adventurer's guild, as he gained power his celestrial bloodline manifested. He quickly realized that he was the first target in most adventurering groups and that monsters would attack him first.
after having enough of being smacked around he convinced Rudgar the party's dwarven warrior to teach him a bit about combat.
Gerard is now an adventurer to be reckoned with and unlike most white mages, good in a fight, even if he wears no armor, he's come to this town with a simple goal, gold, exploration, and goofing off.
Prudence, justice, temperance, courage, faith, hope, love...

Culture: the ability to carve an intricate and beautiful bowl from the skull of a fallen enemy.
Civilization: the ability to put that psycho in prision for killing people.

I accept your challenge!

ShadeOfGray

Adventurers you say?

I liked Louie, here's v2:

Player Name: ShadeOfGray
Character Name: Luc Deveraux
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Special Skills or Talents (If any): Can wield a 2H sword without cutting himself (Most of the time), Determination (Can you really call that a talent?), knows no less than 40 slime jelly recipes.
Magical Abilities or Spells (If any):  None whatsoever.
Sexuality: Straight
Picture or Description:

Character Bio:
Poor Luc has been dithering from odd job to odd job to try and keep food on the table for him and his orphaned younger sister.  Then one day a large sword arrived in the mail, apparently sent to him from a relative he didn't know he had.  Well, less "sent" and more "got a passing mention in his will".  He first attempted to sell the blade, but thanks to copious item monopolies in Pensee, he was quickly muscled out of the market.  There was only one thing he could do with it, try and become an adventurer!  How hard could it be, right?

Harder than it would seem.  His first few forays into the trials ended rather miserably.  He had little aptitude at all for swordplay.  Monsters are dangerous, they didn't mention that in the manual!  He barely crawled out with his life, collapsing when he arrived home due to wounds and exhaustion.  The few slime jellies he could grab were all they had to eat for many weeks.

Why did he keep going?  Because he had someone waiting at home.  No matter how shamefully he staggered back, no matter how bruised and battered he arrived, no matter how many merchants had laughed in his face, his little sister would be there to call him hero.  He couldn't give up, that glorious title of hero in front of him, he needed to press on.  People were depending on him!

Defeat after defeat would slowly mold him toward victory.  Some things actually started to sink in after the 8th or so attempt.  He could never pass for a blademaster, hell he'd have trouble with mediocre, but he had no shortage of determination.  That determination finally saw him through the trials and through either his grit or (more likely) an outstanding string of lucky coincidences, he acquired his adventurer's certificate.  At last, he really was a hero... er... an adventurer at least!

Little did he know that the true ardors of the profession were still in front of him.  Now in his 20th year, contracts have been sparse, injuries have been frequent.  Carrying all his gear plus a merchant's haul was bad enough, but those monsters kept leveling up...  He had been left to die in the dungeons more than once, but Luc always found some way to drag himself out.  After all, he had someone waiting for him.

Between young and old, Between was and be
Between dark and light, Between you and me
This pleasant shade of gray.. (O/O)
