Oded and Izeek might have met each other based on their mutual interest in speeder bikes.

Is Zabrak near-human enough to bro down with for Oded? :P

But in all seriousness that seems like a solid hook. We've both got access to the "Shortcut" talent, so there might even be some friendly rivalry in the racing/pursuit field. Or maybe they just go cruising for chicks on Thursday nights. Space motorcycles are sexy, right?

Guancyto

I'm all for coordinating backstories!

Hmm, I think it would be an actual crime to not have 21 abuse her force powers to cheat at cards.

Of course casinos (even/especially space casinos) can get suspicious (and the Inquisition almost certainly looks poorly upon its operatives abusing their powers in such a way), so making it a two-person job would help clean house, if any other character happens to be a gambler.

clonkertink

Izzek has decent cunning. And gambling sounds like a good way to annoy the suits upstairs without jeopardizing the mission. Deal me in!

Guancyto

Excellent! Since we still have to maintain WBL, everything we have previously made on capers needs to have gotten spent on hookers, booze, cocaine, fancy meals, bribes and/or other things that don't last, but I don't expect that should be a problem. :P

We'll probably have some set of secret signals first of all by virtue of being spies, but also so one can signal the other to start betting high!

Incidentally, 21 fought alongside aliens in either the War or its aftermath (depending on the timeline), so she doesn't have a problem with ayys. She sort of thinks of the Empire's racism as... not morally objectionable per se (she might be the worst Sith but she's still a Sith), but as deeply stupid. The Empire needs to be exploiting racial tensions to keep subjugated populations at each other's throats, not creating them and thereby unifying rebellious populations that used to have nothing in common!

Why do I have a feeling Izzek and Twenty-One have drunkenly hooked up on several occasions? They probably never remember it. They just wake up naked and hungover in bed from time to time.

Zabraks are certainly human enough to fall under Oded's 'humanism' umbrella. I've decided he's a lousy gambler though.

Lousy gamblers are among the best at gambling too often, at least.  Mila would definitely be interested at least in the thought exercise side of things, or even just in playing cover for the whole gambling thing.  After all, cheating at cards is a combination of the con, fast hands, and logic puzzles, so it's basically a sneaky hacker's paradise.

clonkertink

Plus, the cards have some holographic components. They're hackable!

Captain Whitebread

Either Lando or Han had a gadget to help them cheat by changing the cards

I know theSAGA system includes them

Heck, there are straight up rules for cheating a sabacc in the Suns of Fortune sourcebook.

TheFourthShade

There is so much stuff to learn about Star Wars that I only learn in random banter sessions.

It's a beautiful setting to be a hacker.

An app! Felt the group could use someone a bit more Non-Military and also a Face so time for a classic!

Name: Savsta
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Career: Smuggler
Specializations: Charmer

Physical Description: A mess of shoulder length brown hair and big brown eyes gives her an appearance of a sweet, angelic lady who can do no wrong. The killer curves she has to go with it means she's always popular at the bar where she can really milk people for free drinks. She also looks like she has never lifted something heavy in her life, which is more or less accurate.

Personality: Intensely bored unless in the middle of a scheme, Savsta is just all round trouble and probably workout out how to steal your boots RIGHT NOW. What few friends she has are probably glad she's on their side because she's all sweetness and light right up until the moment she slides the knife in and after that those sweet smiles are a whole lot more menacing. She's fun to be around if you like trouble, not so much if you like your trouble in moderation.

Brief Bio: Savsta was a real pain in the ass for the Empire for a good while. Brought up on a backwater with no future her determination to get out of there had her turn to crime before she was old enough to drink. She wasn't strong or particularly agile but she could turn on the charm and steal from people right in front of their eyes and there was a real thrill to it. Maybe she'd still be on her backwater if not for her desire to always go for a bigger score and this escalated rather quickly from cargo to outright cargo ships. It's when she started turning an eye to all that well guarded and wonderfully expensive military equipment that she got into real trouble.

She might be whip quick but the Imperial Forces employ the best and she was finally caught out and would have likely been executed if not for the Imperials discerning eye for talent, she hadn't succeeding in stealing something incredibly valuable from them but she'd gotten a hell of a lot closer than most. Maybe she just needed a nudge in the right direction and a significantly terrifying threat of what'll happen to her if she fucks it up. It might work!

Maybe Izzek is the one who caught her and is keeping an eye on her? He can always just shoot her if she goes back to her old ways!

For the rest she's a career charmer and unashamed thief, so up to you which end of that you caught! If not both.

clonkertink

If Izzek brought her in, then she probably did manage to steal something valuable, and he was hired after the fact to chase her down. I could see them snarking each other out on the way to the detention facility, and Izzek probably developing a, "No hard feelings, it's only business" attitude toward Savsta.

Premier

And that'd mean Izzek gets some respect for being one of the few people in the galaxy who aren't utter rubes.
