I find that the more stuff like this happens and people walk around with a self righteous hypocrisy, the less I begin to care.

In all honesty, hand on a stack of bibles, I have just found that when things like this happen, I end up hating everyone involved, regardless or reasons. The protesters argue that they are against bigotry and whatever, by being bigoted in their actions.

So at this point I just tend to quote Rick Sanchez because its as close as I can get to describing my feelings. :P 

And that makes me sad because I used to think we could hug out any situation. X3 I used to think the Arab/Israeli conflicts could be settled with love and understanding. Nowadays I just don't care.

A protest by Berkley students to get a safe space moved from the basement to the 5th floor prevents students form going to class. As well as to create safe spaces for Non White students.

And the protest formed a human chain that did not allow anyone white to pass through them, while allowing people of color to move through unmolested.

Given the increasing number of multi-racial people in the United States, non-Caucasian ethnic groups who are light-skinned and can pass for white due to US social perceptions, and the existence of white Latinos who can still be subject to racism ("Where are you really from?") No, you're not... There seems to be an emergence of outright hate groups in the name of "___ rights" recently. This is not the solution, this is cleaving further rifts and aggressively contributing to the problem, alienating both everyone else and the members of their own group who don't agree... I'm disturbed how often minority members I know themselves are called "traitors of their kind" and harassed out of their communities because they don't subject to those ideas of discrimination. (Can see the fault in others, but never look in the mirror yourself, I guess...)

I remember when in the UK a so called diversity officer ended up getting fired for just this kind of behaviour. Excluding people based on their appearance is wrong, whether they are black, white, red, yellow, purple or green.

These so called 'safe spaces' serve only one true purpose, no matter how well intentioned they are. They turn into echo chambers.

Actual safe spaces are meant to protect people from threats, not to keep out things that they don't want to look at, be that people of a certain gender or colour, a certain religion, or in some cases even scientific facts.

The only way to combat racism, sexism and religious bigotry is to force people to coexist, and punish bad behaviour. Separating people only leads to less understanding of each other, and to more hatred.

Bob Dylan has finally broken his silence and acknowledged his status as the most unexpected Nobel prize awardee for literature in years. In an interview by the Daily Telegraph, he describes his first reaction when he heard the news as amazement. He also promises to come to the awards ceremony unless something else turns his planning around completely.

There's been a good deal of speculation over the past week about whether Dylan was deliberately neglecting to reply and trying to keep up his cool. None of it, he says. He doesn't offer any real explanation either why he kept silent for a couple of days. One of the Stockholm papers though reported tonight that he was in touch with the Academy already on Tuesday, making a personal call to Sara Danius, their permanent secretary and the one who had anniounced the prize to the world press last week. As they were talking over the award, she promised to hold on the news a little until his staff had arranged some other media contacts - I have a feeling most Nobel prize winners don't have their own personal media staff.  ;) Danius described Dylan's phone manners as "gentle, engaging and with a great sense of humour".

What she didn't tell us is how she made sure that it wasn't some imitator or prank caller on the phone saying in a raspy voice "Hello Sara, this is Baaab..." ^_ ^ I feel she must have had a few pranksters trying to pose as Bob Dylan since last Thursday.

Both sides are asking for immediate release of all information pertaining to this latest FBI announcement and the Justice Department is warning the FBI and Comey about interfering in the election.

Seems to me someone in the Judiciary is pressuring the FBI in some way so the GOP can protect the down ballot elections by screwing with Secretary Clinton.

Something like this hasn't been seen since Polio was still a thing, but nothing the doctors do can find what is actually causing the damage, its like the sickness passes through, does its damage and disintegrates.

The thing that terrifies me, is that this is happening in a first world country where children can get care the moment something is wrong. Who knows how many other children are suffering from this in other parts of the world where they cannot go to a doctor?
