She'd probably fit in best if one of the other characters was mentoring her.  Since she's an up and comer and not into corporate runs yet, she might just be a project for one of the other characters.

Tamhansen

I'll be happy to pick her up. She sounds like someone who'd make a great face.

Beneath the lowland's sheltering trees,
To seek, by ways unknown to all,
The promise of the waterfall.

The group is already very big, do you really want even more players to keep track of?

Niki315

That's kind of what i was worried about: adding to an already large group.  I can back off for the time being and based on how things go maybe you can call me in later.

vin26m

Having completed the first shadowrun, the game is open to new characters.

vin26m

I am considering starting this game up again in the next couple of weeks.

If you are interested in joining, post interest and potential characters here.

Dracorion

Definitely interested, though I'll have to wait to get home to post a character.

Are you allowing SURGE-modified characters? Because I've been wanting to play a native wolf-futa shaman in the cyberpunk future.  XD

Interesting.  We were using pretty normal characters.  Not sure if anyone else would be willing to go that route.

I'm open-minded.  What's your idea with the shaman?

Dracorion

Well, the idea is that Kanae Akecheta comes from a native american tribe deep in the forest. Due to a long time of communion and exposure to spirit and magical effects and stuff, SURGE is a fairly common occurrence in the tribe, and they embrace it wholly. Awakened individuals are less widespread in the village, and they're usually titled shamans to a particular beast spirit or element, usually based on their SURGE expressions. The village is presided and safeguarded by a powerful wolfish beast spirit, and the Wolf Shaman who represents it is considered the village's spiritual leader.

Kanae comes from a line of wolf changelings, with her mother being the last Wolf Shaman, though she died giving birth to Kanae. This left the village without a spiritual leader, so Kanae was groomed since her childhood to become the next Wolf Shaman. She grew up to be a jerk all around; of course, if you were told you were going to lead your people and were blessed by the wolf god, the power might go to your head too.

It was a tradition in the village for the Wolf Shaman to leave their home and learn the ways of the world, as a means of expanding their horizons and understanding. Kanae was also sent on this quest, as the villagers hoped it would cool her heels and get her feet wet in the outside world. If that didn't work, then at least everyone in the village gets to breathe easy while she's gone.

I'm intrigued, but have to ask a couple of questions before it evolves into actual interest.

I have next to no experience with the later editions of Shadowrun. I played for about a year way back in 2nd ed or something like that, but the game has moved well beyond that. I only have a partial players guide (damned PDF's!) and so, I'm not sure at all what I would be doing in character creation.

Ok, the two things that may be a deal breaker for you.

1. I'm blind, so a pic of any kind is going to be beyond me. I'll describe a character's appearance in all the detail that you want, but that's the best that I can do.

2. As mentioned, I know next to nothing about the system, even freeform. If someone would be willing to help me work out the details, I would like to play a sniper with some in close capabilities. I suppose this is a Weapons Specialist. I have a fairly decent backstory; it's the character details that I'm going to be sucking vacuum on.

So... can we compromise on something?

Yes, I really am blind.
Being Literate is the ability to read and understand a language. When you ask for literate, what you are looking for is Verbosity, which is the ability to use lots of words without actually saying very much... like politicians. I consider myself both literate and verbose.

Hmm, okay.  I'm intrigued.  What kinds of spells does she know?  Do you want to play her as a shadowrunner?

We've RP'ed on a Pathfinder game, before, Blinkin.

Send me whatever you have in mind and I'll fill in the blanks for you.

Blinkin

We have? *thumping head to rattle the marbles around again* Well... I really need to start a database so that I can keep up with everyone. lol

Let me work out the history a bit more, and I'll PM the concept to you.

Spell-wise, she would know Lightning Bolt, Stunball, Detect Magic, Heal, Increased Attribute Agility and Reaction, Armor, Astral Armor, Calm Animal, Physical Barrier and Mana Barrier. I'd be willing to drop some if you think that's too many spells.

And yeah, Kanae would be a shadowrunner, because she needs to earn money to support her quest to learn everything civilization has to offer. One of her contacts would be a low-level fixer with a heart of gold and angelic patience who would teach her the basics of operating technology and hook her up with basic gear in exchange for muscle, and possibly sex.

Blinkin

Is there such a thing as a fixer with a heart of gold? They usually have neyen in their eyes. hehehe
