Premise
The unity of the Horde is crumbling, the alliances once held so strong are about to break. The Warchief, Garrosh Hellscream, has all but alienated himself from the advice of the leaders of the horde, and he continues to push forward with his Orcish supremacy. Now, he has even tried to have Vol’jin, one of the founders of Durotar, assassinated for speaking up against him. Now Vol’jin wants justice and revenge, and he gathers allies amongst the leaders of the Horde. But it is not just amongst the Horde that he will find aide. Now former Warchief Thrall and Jaina Proudmoore, Leader of the Kirin Tor, have secretly gathered an elite group of the best and brightest from the Horde and Alliance, those who see the madness brewing inside Garrosh. This group of unlikely heroes must do what they can to help the Dark Spear Trolls with their Rebellion and slay Garrosh once and for all. But first these brave gathered must overcome their animosity towards one another, set aside their differences for the greater good of all of Azeroth.
They gather now in secret in the shadows of Nordrassil by mount Hyjal. They come from all corners, all races of the world, Half-ogres, Orcs, Humans, Blood Elfs, Dwarfs, Gnomes, Goblins, Night Elfs, Pandaren, Draenei, Furbolg, Trolls, Worgen, Tauren, Undead. They were even joined by a few Nerubians and Naga who had seen the insanity of their masters.

Information:
This will be a free form roleplay with a few obvious difference between it and the canon. If there are any WoW lore nerds, or just passionate Warcraft fans, who’d like to be my Co-GM on this I’d love to hear from you. The character sheet in this post is just a skeleton for one, if you feel like you have something to contribute to it, feel free to change it. One of the things I’ll say right away is that The Trials of the High King is over, Varian Wrynn is the undisputed leader of the Alliance. Players are allowed to keep their character neutral too, if they don’t want to ally themselves with either faction. I would appreciate it if you would send me your character sheets instead of posting them in the thread. I imagine the group having a base of operations by Nordrassil, and as such there will be a thread for both the happenings there, and out in the world.

Horde Characters:

I have taken the Oath of the Drake
"--But every sin...is punished, but punished by death, no matter the crime. No matter the scale of the sin. The people of the city live in silence, lest a single word earn them death for speaking out against you."

"Yes. Listen. Listen to the sound of raw silence. Is it not serene?"

Hi.  :-) I hope this isn't too long, but my character creation can get a bit carried away.  :P Let me know what you think.

Emmagold at Light’s Hope Chapel
Name: Emmagold Fuselighter

Race: Goblin

Occupation: Elemental and Alchemical Engineer (Shaman, Alchemist, and Engineer)

Faction: Neutral

Affiliation: Captain with the Argent Crusade

Personality:

Emma is an intelligent and curious young woman. She is passionate about opposing evil and difficult to intimidate. Like most goblins, she has a fascination with explosions and complicated contraptions. She can also be a bit of a smart-ass. But in many other respects she has rejected the values associated with her species. Her time spent in the slums of Kezan left her resentful of large disparities in wealth. While she does have a knack for making gold, it mostly goes to support her research and construction projects—which in turn benefit the Argent Crusade.

Non-goblins may consider Emma reckless at times—but most of her fellow goblins would call her a stick-in-the-mud whose obsession with safety borders on infuriating. Emma was strongly affected by her parents’ accident, which caused her to become more concerned for the well-being of those around her. She always considers the ethics of her actions. She disapproves of revenge and hatred—her fight against the destructive forces of the world is only motivated by her desire to protect the innocent. While she may get angry at times, she feels pity rather than hatred for those who are corrupted. She is skeptical of authority, but has learned to function effectively within a command structure.

At the first sign of danger Emma is above all a military professional—safeguarding her comrades and civilians is her priority. At other times, she is more cheerful and easy-going. She enjoys reading and her research into magic, alchemy, and engineering. Because she keeps herself so busy, she has never had time for a serious relationship. She has been with a few women—Emma is a lesbian, and while she prefers other goblin women she is not one to discriminate by race.

Background:

Emmagold was born to Maxx and Zindy Fuselighter on the island of Kezan. Growing up she was an inquisitive child, with the usual goblin penchant for mischief. When Emma was twelve, her parents—both mining engineers who ran their own company—were involved in a serious industrial accident. Maxx suffered numerous injuries, and Zindy was killed. One of Maxx’s workers, who had trained as a shaman, offered to use his magic to attempt to revive her. But his price was that Maxx sign over his company and all his other assets if the spell was successful. Time is of the essence with resurrection magic, and so Maxx acceded to this demand. Zindy was returned to life, though the Fuselighters were left destitute.

In the aftermath of accident, Emma was traumatized—the first news she had heard was an erroneous report that both her parents had been killed. Even afterward, she was still shocked to know her mother had been dead, however briefly. For the three years that followed, Emma lived in the slums of Kezan with her parents. She had to endure the taunts of the other children, who constantly mocked her father’s decision to give up all his wealth.

Although Maxx’s reputation had been permanently tarnished by his decision, Zindy was eventually able to find a new job in the mining industry and the family escaped the slums—though they were never to regain their former wealth. The new stability did allow for another addition to the family, Emma’s baby brother Jek.  Her parents were also able to afford Emma’s apprenticeship to a shaman. Emma’s initial interest in spellcasting was because of her desire to be a healer and protect those around her from harm. However, her healing abilities proved mediocre. Instead it was in her connection with raw, deadly elemental forces that she showed promise. She studied and practiced constantly for two years, always improving.

As an analytical young woman without a lot of patience for mystical thinking, Emma styled herself an “elemental engineer” rather than calling herself a shaman upon finishing her apprenticeship. Her attitudes had become more and more out-of-step with those of her fellow goblins, and with some regret she left her family behind to go and see the world. She traded her spellcasting for passage as she went.

Not long after Emma’s eighteenth birthday, Azeroth was threatened by plagues and undeath. The young goblin took up alchemy, hoping she would be better with healing potions than healing spells. She had some success with this path, but she did not feel she doing enough to help with the world in peril around her. She signed on with the Argent Crusade, and headed to Northrend to battle the forces of the Lich King. As there were precious few shaman with the Crusade, Emma was useful to them both as a soldier and an adviser on elemental magic.

Emma fought alongside her fellow crusaders all the way to Icecrown, and participated in the Argent Tournament. Because of her courage, skill, and tactical instincts, she was eventually promoted to the rank of Captain. She lost a number of friends during the campaign, but never ceased struggling against the enemy. While she was not directly involved in the Lich King’s final defeat, she did help to fight some of the most terrible abominations he had created during the battle at Icecrown Citadel. Afterward, she stayed in Northrend for months to help clean up the worst pockets of Scourge resistance remaining. During this time, Emma’s curiosity drove her to study engineering—her ambition became to combine elemental magic, alchemy, and engineering in order to find more inventive ways of fighting evil. Although it would no doubt have been seen as scandalous back home, she studied under gnomes to learn this new trade.

During the year after the victory in Icecrown, Emma visited her family in Kazan several times. However, she was not present the day Deathwing attacked and destroyed the island. She feared the worst and spent months investigating and traveling, trying to find anyone who knew of her family’s fate. She finally found her parents and younger brother alive—they had been sold into slavery by Trade Prince Gallywix. Not wanting to take any chances, Emma simply put together the money to buy her family’s freedom. Afterward they settled in Gadgetzan, where her parents returned to mining operations for their livelihood. Emma created a teleportation device which she uses from time to time in order to visit them.

From the rescue of her parents until the beginning of the rebellion against Hellscream, Emma assisted the Argent Crusade in holding the Plaguelands and fighting the Scourge there. She was occasionally assigned to other tasks furthering the goal of Deathwing’s defeat. She was also sent to Pandaria for a time to investigate the threat posed by the Sha. In the midst of the Horde’s current infighting, she was suddenly reassigned to Nordrassil for a special project.

Equipment: Hammer, shield, mail armor, Argent tabard, hearthstone, teleporter, high-powered bolt gun, parachute cloak, rocket belt, and numerous other tools, devices, and supplies.

Mounts: When any degree of subtlety is required she rides her argent hippogryph, Penelope (“Penny”). When it’s time to go in with guns blazing, she pilots a large gyrocopter of her own design she calls the Sky Fire. It is armed to the teeth, a three-person vehicle with spaces for port and starboard gunners, as well as a powerful forward missile launcher. Without gunners Emma can still fire the side weapons, but with far less accuracy.

Ons and Offs:

Sexual
Emma is relatively inexperienced, and still working out what she likes best in romantic situations. She does like to have at least some emotional connection with a potential sexual partner, even if it’s only a brief friendship or having fought side-by-side. She hopes to someday find someone she can be happy with in a long-term relationship. There are no fetishes she is particularly obsessed with, though she is more open than most to pursuing women outside her own species. See also my Ons and Offs.

Nonsexual
Emma spends much of her time training and reading in pursuit of her numerous trades and her connection with the elements. She also has a passing interest in philosophy. While not working, she prefers to spend her time in the company of those who are also open-minded, especially regarding coexisting with other races. When she hears bigoted attitudes she is seriously annoyed. She does not have a problem with members of the Horde or Alliance as long as they are not warmongers. She likes good food and drink—though she avoids partaking in excess—especially with intellectually stimulating conversation. As far as arts and entertainments go, she is always interested in experiencing new things. Likewise, she will usually jump at the chance to travel somewhere she has not been before.
