I once did a One on One role play with an idea like this, it was a lot of fun so I decided to try out a group version since it definitely has the elements for one.  If you have any questions, comments or suggestions then let me know.  If you are interested then please post here.

Setting: A high fantasy setting with magic, mythical creatures, beasts, monsters and supernatural elements.  The actual time period is up for discussion.  It could be modern with a fantasy twist, steam-punk, middles ages, etc.  I'm looking for input here to see what people would prefer depending on whom is interested.  More than likely it will have more of a middle-age type feel to it, but of course we can customize the elements of the world as we see fit.

Story: For thousands of years deals and contracts have been made with humans.  It started with Demons, cutting deals with humans marked by sin in order to gain access into their world by binding to their soul.  Angels soon followed this example, creating contracts in order to be invited into the human world to pair up with a contractor and fight off the demons whom were making deals.  It was not as easy for Angels though for only faithful humans could hear them and accept them into their hearts.  Then it was the Dragons that were summoned from the depths of the Earth, awakened and partnered with riders, a contract made through the mind and vital spirit.  Following the Dragons, contracts were made with various other monsters and creatures of the dark realms and dimensions that mirrored and surrounded Earth, seeking out loyal and gifted humans who were capable of making the blood oath as a Contractor.

Contractors became known as a rare, yet powerful assets to any army or legion.  While other humans were limited to the weapons of their time, a Contractor could tap into the magical and supernatural abilities of their Familiar and summon them to the battle to wreak havoc upon the enemy.  Once again, it had started with the demons whom made deals with humans in order to enter the human world and they would influence the wrath, greed, and lust amongst the humans as darkness spread.  It was shortly after that when Angels started to find their Contractors that could summon them to Earth in order to fight off this darkness and counter the demons.  From there more and more Contractors were being made and discovered, bonding with ancient creatures and beasts to influence the world.  War broke out amongst the Demons and Angels, contractors that had bound themselves to other beasts and creatures chose sides or remained neutral to their cause, living and fending on their own.

Plot: This really depends upon who is interested and joins.  Obviously it will have something to do with the story, but basically the role play will feature Contractors and their Summons pairing off and perhaps creating clans who are like minded or whom are seeking a similar goal.  This could cause conflict amongst others that are after something different or want something different.  We could definitely do an Angel vs Demons type of deal, and Contractors with Dragons, Creatures and Beasts that are not affiliated with Demons or Angels could pick and choose a side or maybe lie somewhere in the middle.  The plot could involve battles for control over Kingdoms/Nations/Land/etc.  Overall it would perhaps be for control over Earth as in the story above you have Demons and Angels accessing Earth through Humans to do battle.

The Contract: The magic that creates the contract between the Contractor and Familiar is an old and ancient spell.  The bond is very powerful and is not to be taken lightly for it is said to last for an eternity, carrying over into the after-life.  The contract is not written in ink for it is not a piece of paper that binds a Contractor and Familiar together.  Their bodies, minds and souls come together as one but they still remain as two individual beings to the naked eye.  Spiritually they are connected, they can sense each others moods and emotions as well as when one is in pain or pleasure.  Two beings under this contract can also speak to each other telepathically anywhere and at anytime, over any distance. The closer a Contractor and Familiar are, the stronger their connection is and it only makes the two of them more powerful by unleashing the full potential of the Familiar's powers.  Most of the time if one dies, the other does as well, very rarely does one go on to survive without the other unless they are well attached to a Clan, this is because of the powerful bond between them.  It is very rare for a Human to find a significant other when they have a Familiar.  Depending on the Familiar, they may demand physical interactions or blood as a sort of payment for harnessing their powers.  While some contracts are a bit friendly and loyal, others can start out a bit rough by Familiars that are a bit demanding or have needs, urges and desires, such as demons.  Over time though the bond and relationship between them usually tends to smooth out as they become closer.

When a contract is made an identical, symbolic, tribal tattoo glows brightly on the Contractor's and Familiar's body.  The tattoo can then fade from view or remain on the body for all to see depending on the preference of the two involved in the contract.  Typically if the tattoo is always showing, rather then faded or hidden from view, then it symbolizes a strong bond and connection.  The tattoo is known to glow at key points between the two bound by the contract, such as when a mind-numbing orgasm occurs during intercourse between the two of them.

Physical interactions can improve the bond immensely, such as intercourse and other sexual activities due to its level of intimacy.  Because of this a Familiar and Contractor are usually of the opposite sex, unless sexuality depicts otherwise (homosexuals).  Some simple kissing and romance can be good for the two of them as well since it simulates them more as a couple who are mated for life.  Any sort of physical touch between them is emphasized through their contract.  A spark forms between their bodies and the sensations of intercourse are enhanced to intense levels of pure ecstasy.

Blood oaths and pacts can be made between a Contractor and Familiar, though it is not for everyone (depends on your preference when it comes to bloodplay), for those who embrace it though it has its rewards.  Sharing/drinking blood can be very enjoyable between those connected through a contract.  Blood from the Contractor can help heal the Familiar as well as restore their strength and stamina, same goes the other way around with blood from the Familiar to the Contractor.  The blood shared/drank between them does not taste of iron, but is sweet to their lips and desirable, acting like an aphrodisiac.

Contractor:  A human that has summoned a Familiar in which to create a binding contract.  A Contractor's only magical abilities are those that relate to the Familiar, such as the ability to summon the familiar anywhere and at anytime.  Other magical abilities are linked through the Familiar and builds with a stronger contract, such as healing abilities with blood.

Familiar:  These are powerful creatures that are summoned and bound by contract to humans who managed to make a connection with them.  Summons include powerful creatures, monsters, beasts and demons from different realms and dimensions.  Some of them are ancient, others just legends, each of them having their own unique powers and abilities to be harnessed and used by the summoner.  A familiar can be a wide variety of species and races, even an anthro/furry.

Clans: These are small groups with 2 or more pairings of a Contractor and a Familiar.  Those within a Clan can temporarily "share" summons.  Meaning that a Familiar could go with another Contractor for a short amount of time if needed by creating some sort of bond through blood, intercourse, etc.  This can be useful for those that wish to team up and work together as well as if one person in the group needs to take a break for whatever reason, then one can continue role playing with others in the clan even with the absence of their Contractor or Familiar.

Temporary contracts are not as powerful as the true bond between a Contractor and his original Familiar whom they made a permanent contract with, only the true Contractor can bring out the full powers and abilities of their Familiar so they can be used to their full potential.  Temporary contracts do allow healing through blood, however the blood tastes like iron and loses it's sweetness and aphrodisiac attributes.  Also physical elements such as kissing and intercourse do not share the same spark through these temporarily shared contracts.  Permanent contracts can be made within a clan, like let's say if a Contractor leaves the game (or dies off) for whatever reason and we have an abandoned familiar, then we can make a permanent contract.

Rules

  • No god modding or controlling of another person's character without their direct permission first.
  • No meta-gaming, if you know something as the writer that your character should not know then keep in character and do not abuse that knowledge.
  • Respect those in the group and whoever you are role playing with, no arguing or bickering, be mature, kind and considerate.
  • Sexual elements are up to those involved in the scene/thread, respect someone's offs.  We are not going to limit anyone in this game, if you want to go extreme then you can as long as it's okay with everyone else you are currently writing with.  If you get squeamish and don't like the extreme then stay away or out of their threads until it's over and done with.
  • Creating NPCs and doing your own thing with the role play is fine, as long as it is nothing significant or substantial that may turn the tides of a battle or plot.  As you can imagine there will be some scenes where the Contractor and Familiar may want to be alone.  ;)
  • You may have up to two characters, preferably one Contractor and one Familiar unless one side already outweighs the other.  Your two characters cannot be in the same contract, meaning if you have a Contractor and a Familiar then they cannot be paired together but must be with someone else.

Below are the two different character templates, one for a contractor and another for the familiar.  One thing to keep in mind with trying to pair up a contractor with a familiar is communication with the person playing them.  Make sure you two are compatible writing partners and are looking for the same thing or something similar.  It may help if you have similar tastes and also are into the same kinks/fetishes/sexual elements/etc.

Familiar Template

Name:Shizuru
Gender:Female
Age:3200+
Class:Demon
Sexuality:Bisexual (Prefers Women)

Fighting Skills:
--Old Demon: As a demon of some three thousand years of age, Shizuru is in the prime of her hellish life. She is endowed with the traits all older demons share; supernatural strength, speed, endurance, and agility. Mortal weapons are less effective against demons unless they are blessed or made of silver.

--Swordplay: Shizuru has been trained by a number of Japanese sword masters including Miyamoto Musashi. She has acquired thousands of years of experience in battle, both in the underworld and in the mortal realm. Her signature weapon is a katana named Koryu ('Little Dragon'), it was forged by a famous Japanese swordsmith and tempered with her own blood to make it effective against supernatural creatures as well as mortals.

--Fire Control, Minor: Shizuru was once able to summon firestorms and control flames that burned hot enough to melt anything. The greater bulk of her power has been locked away, leaving her with only minor control of flames**. She can still summon fire with a snap of her fingers or mere gesture, but her power is a fraction of what it once was.

--Shapeshifting, Minor: Most demons can change their form in one way or another, but Shizuru does not specialize in this. The best she can do is get rid of her wings, claws, and horns in order to appear more human and blend in. She cannot, however, change her eyes from the odd gold color they normally have - it's something that makes her stick out and draws attention, so these days in the human world she often wears shades to cover them.

--Object Summoning, Minor: Again, much of her power is locked away. As an extremely old and experienced demon, Shizuru was once able to summon up nearly anything her mind could conjure (as long as it wasn't too complex). Now, she can summon, at best, small objects without moving parts. There is a single exception to this and that is her motorcycle, Matsukaze*. She is only able to summon it thanks to extensive practice and repetition.

Personality:Shizuru possesses a mellow and somewhat cynical personality, reflected by her easygoing (and at times bored) facial expression. Shizuru practices a tough love approach with those she cares about, causing her to be stern yet loving towards them. Though she tends to stay out of other peoples' business, if she feels like she needs to take matters into her own hands, she will do so. She's not afraid to use brute force when necessary. She has a romantic side, but that tends to be reserved for her lovers. She's embarrassed to be caught getting all 'lovey dovey' around other people. In a lot of ways, Shizuru is like a cat; she comes and goes when she pleases and tends to wander off when bored. She rarely listens to others and prefers her freedom above anything else. She loves to take her time in answering questions, partially because she likes to think before speaking and partially because she likes to make people wait. In combat she is still just as calm and collected no matter the situation, a trait that can be rather disturbing for her opponents.

Contractor:Shizuru is decidedly anti-romance and fairly non-sexual. She does not like 'getting mushy' in front of other people and cares little for sex. She enjoys fighting, though only if she can find a cause or an opponent worth her time. When not engaged in combat, she prefers peaceful, quiet settings. She has a strong dislike for most any technology that can be considered modern, though she has a fascination with motorcycles.

*Only in modern or steampunk settings with appropriate technology
**Shizuru was trapped by a cult and branded with the Halo of The Sun, a mark that limits her power on the mortal plane. The mark is on her back. She does not like to talk about it.

I'm interested as well.  Since we have a demon who studied Japanese sword styles, I'm almost obligated to go with a knight with sword and shield, maybe even a Templar.  They don't have to be contracted to each other, but I like character tension.

Good to see there is some interest already, and nice character MzHyde.  Once we get enough I will probably create a thread for people to post their characters just so we can keep track of them all in one place...for now though we will just keep things to this thread.

Or perhaps not. Inspiration eludes. :(
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

Contractor

Name: Maxwell St. Michel

Gender: Male

Age: 28

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Fighting Skills: Maxwell is a knight armed with sword and shield.  A skilled combatant, even without a Familiar he is capable of fighting multiple foes at a time.  Good positioning, easily switching between offense and defense, reading the flow of battle and solid instincts: Maxwell has the necessary abilities to succeed on the battlefield and the tourney grounds.  However, even at 28, constant battle and recovering from wounds has worn him down, and it won't be too long before he starts feeling the effects of age.  He is after all, only human, unless he makes a contract.

Personality: Maxwell is at first glance an easy-going individual.  Despite being a knight, he's relaxed in language without being crass and isn't a stickler for etiquette, though he is polite out of common courtesy.  He understands the value of words and will be happy to choose diplomatic resolutions over brute force.  However, under a polite and amiable outer shell is the steel core within.  Maxwell strongly believes in honorable conduct, and while he won't preach where it isn't wanted, he disdains people who break promises or don't act in good faith.  He's honorable without being foolishly so, and while doesn't give his word lightly, will keep it once given.  Secrets and lies irritate him.  Duty matters to him, and has driven most of his actions since starting service at a very young age.  He doesn't like cowards and can't abide betrayers.  Overall, Maxwell tries to be humble, empathetic and wise, but even he has cracks in his armor.

As for romance, he's of two minds.  On the one hand, he believes that duty comes first, and that he'd gladly give his all to whoever or whatever he serves.  On the other hand, he hasn't experienced love or romance before, and he suspects that if he ever did fall in love, he would suffer an extreme clash of values.

Appearance

Familiar:  In his Familiars, he would prefer one he can get along with and trust, someone who he could be friends with.  Barring that though, he's okay with a more business-like relationship between the two of them.  Only desperate measures would put him in a position to hastily accept a contract with someone he either distrusted or actively disliked.  His motivation to search for a Familiar comes from the fact that deep down, he fears that he's no longer at his peak, and that his body is running down faster than he can recover from.

Blimey, I rather like the sound of this one. I like the choice given in your (not an insult) vague categories, though I do feel a bit insecure when I'm thinking of what to put. Oh well, I'm simply very tired. I'll mark this, and make something of it in the morning. Dragon, centaur, harpy... I'm just thinking of Western myths at this point, but it will expand.

It always ends in a fight.

I will probably end up creating a Familiar myself....a Demon perhaps.  I may make a contractor as well.

Anyways, so what are the opinions on the setting and also the plot?  For the plot it might just be easy to go with a simple Angels vs Demons type deal and those with familiars whom are not Angels or Demons...well then they can choose or side or stay somewhere in the middle.  I'm still open to suggestions for the setting though.

Contractor Template

Name: Megan Fireeyes

Gender: female

Age: 19

Sexuality: bisexual, though she lacks any sexual experience yet.  Additionally, she tends to be submissive - but that does not mean she would simply submit without a fight.

Fighting Skills: Megan is trained as a firemage since she was a young child.  Because of her training, the girl is quite adept at using fire spells of a large variety.  However, because she has focused all her abilities on one element of magic, she is much weaker against water - the element most opposite to her fire spells.

Personality: Megan has been in the Arcane Academy ever since she was a child.  Because of this, the girl has little outside experience with the rest of the world and tends to be relatively child like in her personality.  She tends to be relatively naive, easy to anger and please, and she is rather materialistic in nature - enjoying buying new clothes and showing off for others.  However, despite this the girl does tend to be curious about the rest of the world and loves to learn.

In terms of romantic engagements, Megan is both inexperienced and curious.  Because she was sheltered in the confines of her academy for many years, she has rarely been around males aside from the occasional delivery man or professor.  Because of this, the girl has built up in her mind a relatively fantastical image of what men are like.  She tends to be easily embarrassed around males because of this high image she has built up for herself about them.

Appearance:

Familiar:  Megan does not currently have a contract.  However, she is very interested in having a companion that would compliment her own abilities...augmenting her firepower with something a little more defensive in nature.

Dray

Siereis, your character would not be able to use any fire spells without a Familiar.  Contractors draw their powers from their Familiar's, thus if you have a familiar that specializes in fire abilities and what not your character could end up harnessing that and producing fire spells.  The only magical abilities a contractor starts out with is the summoning spell that allows thwm to conjure up and create a bond with a Familiar.  Of course if you collaborate with the person that is playing your Familiar you could set up a history together as Contractor and Familiar so that your character as been harnessing the fire powers and using the spells for quite some time.

Dray

Although...I have been thinking about changing it so contractors do know some other spells and magic...just so they aren't worthless and can backup/support their Familiar.  I guess it all depends on the type of character you want to play really.

MaiMizzu

I think I'm gonna make a familiar for this. Female fo course. Any suggestions as to what would be fun to play?
The definition of a hero, at least in my mind, is someone who can protect what is right. To change and stop the wrong. To fight against the forces that seek to destroy you. And, at the very least ... live life well, and enjoy it with those you love.

Dray

Uh...I don't really have any suggestions other than a couple of pics I found that could make an interesting character.

MaiMizzu

I can't think of anything at the moment. I need to head to bed. I'll try to think of something overnight. If we need a specific kind of character, i'll gladly do that. Like I said, i'll play a familiar. Should be fun

Familiar Template

Name: Legend name: Aether, Also goes by Ariel

Gender: Female

Age: Unknown, thousands of thousands of years old, she has either forgotten or rather doesn't want to tell

Class: Legend, Magical Being/Humanoid Mythical Creature

Sexuality: Bisexual

Fighting Skills:
-Ageless Body-
Regardless of how much time ever passes she will only continue to improve, rather she will never truly age or feel the debilitating effects of age. Due to this fact she can only grow strong as time goes one, but she still has to work at it to improve it beyond a certain point, but due to her nature she is far stronger then an average human in every regard. She also bestows an effect if this unto those that she contracts with, granting them a body that will never age in appearance and that grows older much slower. Though those that are bonded with her will still eventually die, they will look as young as they did the day the first contracted with her, or how they looked in their prime, on their death bed.

-Armor of the Seal-
Her armor is attached to her and seems to help regulate her power, though she is an incredibly old being she might not be in complete control. At least that is the appearance she gives off at times and the armor glows and runes appear to contain it, whether that is the true purpose is something else. She will only ever talk about it as a power regulator, something to stop her from going too far. It also gives her a layer of protection against attacks, and though the armor will never show damage, attacks will still go through it and hurt her with enough power or using the right type of attacks. It will merely look like it had no affect on it from the outside.

-Veins of Magic-
Aether's body is something that is only maintained in a human form as a way of other understanding her. She is really a being of some other origin and making then those that are normally seen, as such mundane attacks and weapons seem to have no effect on her, only magic and things that come from a stronger will and source will hurt her. Also due to this she has a stronger connection to magic and can act as a channel, has higher resilience against and physical attack, but lower defenses against other magic attacks. She also grants her contractor access to some of her magic as her blood mixes with theirs and they in effect have pure magical energy flowing through them

-Spiritless Sword-
Aether's sword is something not of this world and seems to have a ghostly aura about it, something that makes it seem like it is hiding something, but that it is eerie and missing something. Her sword is made of a material that shimmers and moves about, like living steel, but that seems to be all it does now. The jewels and gems on the sword are dark and hold no glow to them, like it is dead or empty. Currently it is just a very strong two-handed sword, which she wields one handed, that seems to be unbreakable.

-Magic-
She is able to use almost anytime of magic and element, though she can't control it very well. The stronger the magic the hard it is for her to control and the more likely she is to unleash it wildly or have it backfire inside of her body. As such she mainly sticks to minor control of the elements, healing, and other smaller forms of magic.

-The Will is Weak-
She can influence and read the thoughts of man, as they seem to be linked with magic in some ways, but even this is not perfect it is cloudy and can be over come. The stronger the will of a being the more likely it is to resist and if it is too strong it can open her mind, as it is a two way street, though it is easier for her to close off then for them to keep open.

-Strengthening the Bond-
She gives those that bond with her strength and some of her own qualities, such as increased resistance, magic, and power. These seem to increase as the bond between the two increase and she cares more about another. She is also able to use magic to increase the power of someone else.

-Hint at Something More-
She seems no were near as powerful as the legends tell about her, almost as if something has been left out of them, or something has happened. She seems to be at her weakest state, or rather maybe she was never strong and merely managed to appear powerful. Whatever the case there seems to be something more to her, but she isn't telling, can't, or it is something much bigger then a mortal should try to understand at first.

-The Problems of the Flesh-
Due to her magical existence, maintain a physical forms seems to be hard for her, and takes a lot of effort to make and maintain. If her physical form is destroyed or she is reduced to a little magic power she will retreat to a pocket dimension to recover and rebuild herself. In this sate she merely exists as a voice in her contractors head, or as a being that possess small creatures with no will. She also can temporary give them a humanish form as she mixes her form with theirs and must in order to use magic, as something about the human form makes it easier for her. Whatever the case when she is weakened like this she can't use magic and her other stronger abilities except when she merges and makes the creature half human.

-Knowledge of Time-
As an old being she has an immense range of knowledge and skills, but something seems to cloud them at time, she can't remember everything. It seems like something is holding her back in more ways then one and messing with her. Whatever the case sometimes her entire history is crystal clear, other times it is so cloudy she can only remember the last few hundred years.

-The Feedback of the Earth-
The very earth itself seems to want to stand in her way when she tries to use magic, exist, and use abilities. This causes her to have the appearance and needs of a human, she must eat, she must sleep, and she must do what other living things need to do. Magic is harder for her and can backfire inside of her causing real damage and can be a problem.

Personality: Aether is a rather cheerful being, she is full of life and energy and loves to just do whatever she wants, she doesn't like to stay focused on a single thing too long as she finds it boring. She likes to experience new things, or rather anything that she might find fun or interesting. She is always wearing a smile and just seems happy to be alive, that nothing in the world could bring her down. She has a very strong will and isn't afraid to tell you what she wants or just be rather blunt at times, to the point of being rude. If she gives you her word she will do her best to keep it, though she often doesn't do things for free and excepts something in return. She has a rather large ego at times, something that is exploited by others at times, but most of the time it never gets in her way.

Aether is not above violence and will use it to solve a problem, only when no other method would work, or nothing is more fun. She prefers to have games, discussions, or small distraction as the means of solving problems. Though she might seem overly happy and kinda of bubbly at times, she is very smart, but isn't one to show it all the time. Lastly if one has the unfortunate displeasure of truly making her angry it is best to stay clear of who ever did so, as she will stop at nothing to get back at that individual, lucky this happens fairly rarely. Though when it does happen she has been known to deal more collateral damage then is necessary or rather more then should be possible for something that looks like she does.

Brief History: Aether is a legendary being, one that is often told to small children and considered nothing more then a fairytale. Though some adults still believe in the tale, mostly that of mages and summoners who hope to harness her power and use it for themselves. She is a being that is considered to be a force of the world, the force of life, magic, and will that flows through all things that live in this world and the next. A being that was willed into creation of her own doing and given form by those that dwelled in this realm as a means of understanding her. That to look on her true form would drive all mortal men insane as they gaze into the never ending swirling will and fires of life.

Aether is said to be a being that has existed far longer then mankind and that appeared the moment the first inch of life appeared. Though back then she would have had no form and no real sense of self, as an idea was would have been brought into being. Whether that is true or not only she, or rather some maybe of the remarkably old creatures and gods of the world would know the true answer. Whatever the case maybe, stories and legends exist about he in not only the texts of man, but in those belonging to the other realms. It is not known whether all these different Aethers are one in the same or a linking of tales that have been modified and changed throughout the ages.

Though some common elements exist in all of them, that Aether is supposedly beautiful and terrifying beyond words in her truest form, that she is the literal embodiment of life, will, and magic condensed into a swirl chaos. That she is a being of terrible power, capable of destroying whole cities and more as she wills. That she is a being though might have a fickle nature can be trusted to up hold a deal, though she might try to find loop holes and exploit them. That she cares for those creatures who came from her ideals and use her wisely. Lastly that she is an ancient being existing since the before the dawn of mankind on this world.

Whether any of these legends and myths are actually true is something that only she knows, or the rare older beings that have seen her. Regardless of these facts her names is something most people might know of, though her form is always seems to change, the fact that she always has a sword with her seems to remain constant, but even the form of the sword changes. It is also unknown what her intentions truly are and if those that summon her, truly summon her or she just makes it appear that way. In any event the being known as Aether is a weird, powerful, being of legend that no one is quite sure about if she is real or just an exaggeration of something else.

Actual Legend: Will be a work in progress for awhile and hoping to play without it finished as I need a lot of time to make it.

Appearance: Aether looks much like the picture, except that she often has a more cheerful and happy looking expression on her face and her bust is slightly bigger then is shown in the picture. She is almost never seen without her sword and armor on, almost as if it is stuck to her in someway, though she can move it around and rearrange its color, form, and look she still never seems to completely take it off.

Contractor: Looking for someone who wants a more wild familiar. One that has her own goals as well, that is something simple, but a very complex story that I hopefully can play out. As a familiar she is loyal to a contract, though she may bend it and play with it, she doesn't even seem to willingly break one, least it would truly harm her. Also her contract would have to want to find out more of her past, it might be hard, but it would be worth it and the history of more then just her, but those things that lay beyond.

Still working on the history and pretty much everything, just posted here to state my interest and my outline for my concept.

Oooh, this looks like fun. I am thinking of doing a Familiar. Will work on it later.

Kerradric the Inferno (Familiar)

Familiar Template
Name: Kerradric
Gender: Male
Age: 820~ (approximate)
Class: Dragon

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Fighting Skills: Kerradric the Inferno gets his name from the fact that he is something of a proto-typical firebreathing dragon. But even beyond that, he projects an intense wave of heat and fiery aura that can make him difficult to approach. The air around him is always twenty degrees hotter than the surrounding environs, which can have an exhausting effect on those near him (His Contractor does not suffer ill effects in the heat aura).

He is also fully capable of ripping things apart with his dagger-like teeth and sword like talons.  Being ten feet long, and twelve feet high at the shoulders, and covered in blisteringly hot scales, he is naturally armed and armored as well. Magic, magical weapons, or siege equipment are the best things to be used against him.

being a fire based dragon, he is weak when exposed to water. Wet conditions, such as heavy rain, can prevent his fire breath from working, and dampen his fiery aura. Water magic he has a weakness for, though being exposed to fire magic will heal him.  Snow also has a similar effect, denying him his fire related abilities, but he is still a force to be reckoned with due to his resiliency and natural weapons.

Personality: Somewhat taciturn, strong willed, but most importantly, very calm. Even though he must honor his contracts, he can become hostile if his Contractor is immature, or acts in a reckless fashion, and will lecture them at length.

Contractor:  Kerradric prefers to be contracted to intelligent, mature, sensible women that will be able to appreciate the nature of their connection, and who are unlikely to misuse his powers.

I can't think of anything at the moment. I need to head to bed. I'll try to think of something overnight. If we need a specific kind of character, i'll gladly do that. Like I said, i'll play a familiar. Should be fun
Would you be interested in playing a 'guardian angel'?

Henrik Aserit (Contractor)

Contractor Template
Name: Henrik Aserit

Gender: Male

Age: 29

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Fighting Skills: A once-famous swordsman and mercenary, he is well known for his expertise in swords of all sorts, though he favors the broadsword.

He used to be known as the "Whirlwind Reaper" for his dangerously agile way of fighting that emphasized killing blows.

He hasn't fought in a little over a year, because he realized he no longer cared about reasons; it had just become all about the killing and fighting, and he was horrified at what he was becoming. (Consequently, when play begins, he'll be 'rusty', but should recover after some time.)

Personality: Wounded. He's killed many people, and seen many die, and the weight of it all is heavy upon his mind. He shuts off his emotions around others, but on the inside, he struggles to find a sense of belonging and meaning in his life. He is currently going through an existential crisis, leaving him in a very vulnerable state, despite his outward stoicism.

Familiar:  Open to anything. Whatever Familiar he ends up Contracted to will end up swinging his development one way or another, though, as a fun note.

Actually I came up with somethingI think. An air elemental based on a video game.
The definition of a hero, at least in my mind, is someone who can protect what is right. To change and stop the wrong. To fight against the forces that seek to destroy you. And, at the very least ... live life well, and enjoy it with those you love.

Name: Garuda, Queen of the Birds

Gender: Female

Age: Exact age is unknown, even to her.

Class: Mystic beast/Air Elemental

Sexuality: Bisexual

Fighting Skills: Garuda is highly adept with physical hand to hand combat, utilizing her claws and talons extensively.

Due to the nature of her being, she is also able to direct local wind patterns. She can use this skill in an offensive or defensive capability. Garuda is able to focus these winds to enable them to actually slice through things, like light armor (just as a sword would).

In addition to directing winds, she can affect the actual properties of the air around her. This means lowering or increasing the oxygen content of the air.
She is considered an air elemental due to the fact she can control the winds, and she is unaffected by atmosphere. Turbulence in the air has no effect on her or her flying abilities. If it is wind controlled by another will, then she would be affected.

She also has limited healing abilities, able to mend minor wounds and aches.

Personality: She is usually quiet, keeping to herself. She feels ultimately loyal to her contractor, having allegiance to that person above anything else. She would even be willing to put herself into harm’s way if the contractor wished it.

She always has opinions about just about every situation she is in, but always tries to keep those opinions to herself, unless her contractor asks for it.
She isn’t afraid to put herself in harm’s way, most especially if there is life in danger. Even more especially if the one in danger is her contractor.

To strangers she will seem cold and distant. But once you get passed that, once she gets used to your presence, she is a deeply caring and compassionate being.

The Story Of Garuda, The Queen Of Birds: A Tale Of Granted Wishes
In ages past, in a tiny country facing the Behheru bay, there was a young prince who dearly loved all kinds of birds. With a rather frail constitution, he was unable to venture outside for extended periods of time. Thus, he took pleasure in placing several birdhouses within the castle walls and coming to see some of the several birds that often took temporary residence within them.

In one of these birdhouses in particular was a tiny female bird whose feathers were the hue of jade. The prince had taken it upon himself to raise this bird from when it was a wee chick, naming it Garuda. Having had taken well to him, she was always found in his presence, either perching on his shoulders or flying by his side, which calmed his heart greatly.

One day, the young prince left the castle to go bird watching by himself. Like always, Garuda was resting her wings on his shoulders. It was in that moment when a viper lunged towards the two in a sudden, soundless attack.

The prince, who had barely noticed the attack, nudged off the viper with his arm, thus ensuring Garuda's safety; however, the young prince was bitten by the snake in Garuda's stead.

That night, the prince was nursed by the royal physicians within his chambers. It was the small bird Garuda who flew to the castle earlier that afternoon and alerted the vassals to where the prince's feeble and unconscious body laid.

Despite their best efforts, the prince became paler and paler as the hours passed . Already ill from the start, the prince continued to fall into the depths of sickness. The doctors were, in all truth, utterly unable to help the young boy as the type of snake venom by which his body was poisoned was virtually unknown to them.

Peeping in from outside the prince's window was Garuda, who rested on one of twigs of a small sapling. Upon seeing the doctors shake their heads in dismay, she flew hurriedly to awaken the other birds of the castle to consult them for advice.

"….The King of Birds, who lives between the stars and the clouds, seems to take the form of a handsome man. If memory serves me right, he has the ability to awaken the divine curative powers of the wind Vuychap. This special wind is said to be able to cure any malady……..but ,again, this is only a folktale…."

Without waiting for the rather knowledgeable Akbaba to finish his sentence, Garuda tore off into the night sky.

"I want to save the prince I love!" This thought was the only thing that race through her mind as she glided the skies.

Before she noticed, Garuda was engulfed in the light of dawn. Peering downwards, she could see the peninsula of the castle and the beautiful sea that surrounded her familiar home. Flapping one wing after another, she became gradually more tired, and in her exhaustion she felt as heavy as lead. Even breathing became a painful ordeal. Re-strengthening her resolve, she again continued to flutter her wings, flying upwards.

At the end of the second day, Garuda continued to fly until she reached a place higher than any cloud.

There, no matter where one looked, was nothing. It was a realm of pure, absolute sky.

With nothing in her field of sight, nothing but the sound of her own flapping reached her ears. The King of Birds that the Akbaba talked about was nowhere to be found.

Despair consumed her.

"Why have I flown to such a place?" While that sense of doubt flitted across her mind, all of the strength of her body left her. She was not only drained of her physical strength, but also her own willpower to continue on what she perceived to be a fruitless journey. She felt herself falling at terrifying speeds; even closing her eyes, she knew what was happening.

In the instant before her body smashed against the ocean, Garuda was about to give up everything. Suddenly, the smiling face of the prince who she adored so dearly flashed in her mind.

It was in fact that same prince's smiling face that met Garuda's young eyes in the moment she hatched from her shell. It was the first smile she ever saw. What she remembered next was the happiness of the idyllic days she spent with the prince, followed by the startling image of his body plagued by the high fever caused by the venom's poison.

"I want to save the prince I Love!"

With strength previously unknown to even herself, Garuda began to beat her wings again as hard as she could. Somehow, all of her strength had returned to her.

She sensed strongly this change within herself. Without her noticing, her wings had grown much larger, and her form now strongly a human's. She had taken the form of the Ruler of Birds.

After descending to the room where the young prince slept, Garuda flapped her wings slowly and awakened the wind of Vuychap, healing the child from the effects of the deadly poison.

Garuda had saved the prince.

However, she felt something within her heart. In her current form, she could never return to her place on his shoulder. In the moment that the prince opened his eyes, Garuda nodded sadly and flew into the dawn sky.

As her wings beat slowly, guiding her to the kingdom's outer limits, tears filled Garuda's eyes. Coupled with the subtle pain of a life of loneliness before her was the strong feeling of relief that the prince she cherished was safe once more. Garuda peered down towards the vast expanse of the ocean, and while she lost her focus, images of the boy's smiling face and of the happiness he would bring to many others filled her mind with sweet and silent warmth. Garuda then resolved to remember this very powerful happiness despite her loss of the prince's company.

Several years later, the prince, who from that time had become a robust and muscular youth, was unable to forget the figure of the mysterious woman that had healed him; for a great deal of time, he tirelessly searched the world for her. One day, he met once again with Garuda in a moment of fate. It is said that he then took her as his wife. For many years, they lived happily together, treasuring each other's company like a precious gift given at every coming dawn.

The Goddess, touched by Garuda's courage, called her to the heavens after her death and bestowed her with the position of the Queen of Birds. Ancient legends state that it is Garuda herself who guides every bird on their flights throughout our world.
