Welcome ye scurvey scum to the pirate ship "The Dandy Lion" the trade city Hades also known as "sleeping dogs" is currently where the ship is docked, its young captain Nathaniel Silver, son of legendary pirate "Long John" Silver, is looking for new recriutes to join his crew. Spoils and riches await those who join and the chance of eternal glory as the ship plunders and conqures its way through rival crews, trade ships and the floating cities in the skys.

Persona:
Not one to show fear, stubborn, willful, secretive about her own history and emotions. She isn't one to back down from a fight which sometimes gets her into trouble. She can be quick to anger when you push the right buttons, but she is also a woman who knows what she wants. She drinks, she has sex, she loves to fight and collect new weapons...well toys. A smartass but she'd rather be a smartass then a dumbass. Quick to action, but once you gain her trust and her friendship loyal to a fault. Even if she'd make you squirm a bit if she had the chance.

Brief history: (my muse got away from me:P)

Kay was born on Haven, to a couple that owned a small bar hidden away in the skies. They had actually become honest folks, brought up their small piece of life to be a neutral and some what descent place to be. They gave people a place to come together and tried to stay out of the trouble that seemed to circle around them in the skies. They couldn't help the fact that they were stuck in an area full of hidden runaways or pirates. But they were happy, and eventually brought Kay into the world. Though at that time her name was Lilly Gibbons, but she wasn't meant to keep that name long. Not a few weeks old their was an Military raid, they seemed to be looking for some hiding convicts. Normally the Military wouldn't come to this area, but it seemed who ever they were looking for had drawn unusual amount of attention. But as most Military  operations go, this one wasn't nearly as smooth and forgiving.

They laid waste to the small harboe and in turn the bar, showing no mercy or give to those that had nothing to do with the person they were looking for. Her mother was killed trying to defend and protect her small daughter. Her father beaten and taken into custody, but what to do with the small child. A soldier from the group, a man named Alexander Dosswell a man that would later rise in the ranks. but for now he was a young man and took pity on the little girl. And instead of leaving her to die. He smuggled the small child back to his home where he and his new wife passed her off as theirs. Giving her the name Kaela and raise her as their own. Even having another kid, her younger brother only a year younger then she is.

She grew up getting the best education they could offer, and in the end joining the ranks like her 'father'. She trained and became one of the elite, always striving to be the best. But during one of her first classified missions Kay ended up seeing the truth behind what they really did. She saw the carnage left behind just to accomplish one goal. And that was the day she started to question everything she knew. And the deeper she dug the more Kay found she hated what they wanted her to become. And in digging she found the truth of her origin, the truth about her parents. She found a file that showed the gruesome truth of how her mother was killed, her father captured and their world broken apart in one night.

She confronted the man that she thought all her live was her father. And in the end he told her the truth, but said her father was long gone. Somehow he had broken out of the prison he had been kept in and his location was now unknown. She was hurt and angry, and even though the people that raised her and her brother loved her like their own. Her father giving her a locket that her birth mother had worn, a locket he took to be able to hold something of Kay's past just in case. She tried to get past it, tried to become what they all said she should be. The best of the best, the one that pulled the trigger. But the more time that past, the more she felt her soul die. And she just couldn't be their murder anymore.

When they sent her to hunt down fugitives of the Military , she found them. Hiding and afraid all because they knew to much, not because they had harmed someone. But because they knew some horrible truth, and in the end Kay just couldn't pull the trigger. She felt as if part of her life was a lie, and she couldn't begin to explain her disgust with what the Military was now. Nothing more then power hungry bullies trying to hide their dirty secrets. So she did what felt right, even with all the secrets she held. Kay gathered her things, left nothing but her last name behind. She loved her family, but she just couldn't be what they were anymore. So at the age of 20 Kay became a "traitor" and a gun for hire. She traveled and kept moving, never staying put long. Like a shark once you stop moving you die.

Later at the age of 22 she had become a hardened hired mercenary, working form whom and for what cause she chose. Still looking for her real father to this day, part of her longs to see her family. But knows now it would only get the in trouble. And now matter how much she wanted to have a live and wanted to feel more. She knew that now it wasn't possible, so now Kay just fought to survive. Soon beyond her own knowledge she'd be the hired gun for a whole new crew. Now 24 she travels with Nathaniel and his crew as the Master in Arms. As long as she is on board she saw to keeping the trouble to a minimum and keeping the crew safe.

Chiana is all about living life to the fullest. Despite her meager upbringings she found a way to enjoy anything and everything she wanted. Even if that meant she had to do some seed work to get it. Sex, drugs, stealing, manipulating, blackmailing, hell in her short life she has done it all. Cheeky and smart, she know when to go with the flow and when to fight. Playful and flirty, not shy in the least. Chiana see's what she wants and normally gets it.

Physical Description:
Chiana is a bundle of energy all packed into a curvacious 5'1'' form. Her legs well toned from years of dancing and running. Her curves may not be as lushes as some other woman's but she knows how to work them. The tight little body more then able to handle what is thrown at her.

Brief history:
Chiana grew up on the streets, her home nothing but a hidden shed behind the stone wall of an old house. Her and her brother grew up together for the most part. Always taking care of each other, and fighting to survive. They grew up learning to do what was needed to survive. Becoming one of the many that life in the world of thieves and whores that no one saw. They became rather good at what they did, Chiana seemed right at home in the life they made. Stealing, coning, faking their way into whatever it was they needed or wanted. Gathering contacts within all areas of life. After all even those that seemed to be the best behaved usually had their dark little secrets. Chiana just happened to be one of them.

It wasn't till she was 15 that her and her brother got separated. A job gone bad, one of their partners turned them in to get off scott free. And while they were trying to get away Chiana was caught. Yelling for her brother to get away, to come find her and get her when he could. She watched as he ran off. She spent a year in prison and was released, due to her seemingly good behavior. But in truth a girl could get what she wanted with the warden wrapped around her little finger.

On her 17th birthday Chiana was trying to party in a local pub when a burly unsavory man took to much interest in her. Trying to take advantage and not taking no for an answer. She fought hard against the man, but in the end she wasn't the strongest of opponents. It was the then the man she would come to know as Captain suddenly stepped in. She still has no idea what drew his attention or why he chose to help her. But he did, and after that he offered her a place on his ship using her birthday as the excuse to offer it. Of course Chiana took the chance to join him and his crew. And has been with them ever since. Learning how to defend herself from the crew, she took to blades as her chosen weapon. And the crew learned to use her many useful gifts to their advantage as well as enjoy the free spirited energy she brought to the ship.

loving these characters kitten, i'm impressed with the history you put into Kaela and i love how you wrote the meeting between Chiana and Nathanial.

as for nicknames i'm not sure on Kaela just yet but Chiana could take a leaf out of your username's book and go by kitten, she has a very adorable look and it sounds like she always uses it to her advantage.

Brief history: Kathy has always been a child of the streets, and quickly learned to get her ways by doing petty crimes, and surviving out in the streets. She has no conscience and no problem hurting others as long as she gets what she wants, and cares for very few people. She has a tough exterior, a large ego, and developed the skills needed to be an able fighter. While she can use projectile weapons, she much prefer fighting with melee weapons or her hands, often using her petite size to her advantage, making her opponents underestimate her. She also has used her body to get what she wants as well, and is very active sexually. Recently however, she got in trouble with some very influential figures in town, and has a pressing need to leave. She has no interest in getting a real job, but when she heard that a pirate ship was looking for new recruits, she told herself what the hell, why not?

brief history

: The world is tough, and those who want to survive it have to be tough. Jonathan learned his first lesson at the age of four, when his father, a lowly sailor on a merchant ship died when his ship crashed. Leaving his mother destitute and with three young children to look after, Jonathan and his two sisters Allison and Kaila, she saw no alternative but to go into prostitution. Working the docks made her able to provide a meager but liveable life for her children, but it also left it's marks on her, and as she got older life got harder and earnings decreased. Jonathan's mother became harder as well. When Allison turned 14 their mother decided she was old enough to help earn the family income, and forced her to work alongside her.

The extra income was good, but Allison changed. Often coming home bruised and bleeding, she became more and more silent and dead inside. As Jonathan saw what happened to his older sister, he vowed to spare his younger sister the same life. Remembering what had befallen his father, Jonathan studied airship engineering, and by the time he was 15, he could take an entire rigging apart and put it back together again. Meanwhile, his mother, getting old and being ridden with the curses of the docks became more and more abusive. Allison had turned into a husk of her former self, and eventually became pregnant. Not knowing which of her bastard clients was the father, there was little hope he'd be any help if she did know.

One day, Jonathan came home from a job to find his mother beating young Kaila. Apparently mother had decided to bring Kaila along in the business now that Allison was indisposed due to her pregnancy, and had already selected a 'fine' candidate for Kaila's 'maiden voyage' Jonathan stepped in front of his mother and pushed her away. He took his little sister, only twelve years old in his arms, and looked at his mother, uttering one single word 'No!' He then took Kaila by the hand and left.

He ran as fast as he could, dragging his little sister. He went to a friend called Haggard, who'd helped him find the odd job before. He asked if Haggard knew where Kaila would be safe, and Haggard mentioned that the best option would be one of the boarding schools, but they came with a price. Jonathan got all his money together, and took Kaila to the st Nivend boarding school. After hearing his story, the head master agreed to take Kaila in as long as jonathan could pay enough for her board. Knowing it was too much for the young boy, he agreed that Jonathan could take as long as needed, and that Kaila would work for the school until the debt was paid.

Jonathan left in search of work. He signed on to a passenger's ship as an engineering's mate, and has been working ever since. Every spare dime going towards his debt. But after seven years he's only half way through. Kaila, who has graduated from the school with honors is now technically a slave there. When Jonathan heard there was a pirate's ship in port looking for an engineer, he hoped that that would be his ticket to get rich enough to buy her freedom

Name: Brom "Taskmaster" Quincy

Position: Boatswain, obviously this should change

Personality: A hard edged man bent on precision and protocal. Nothing goes wrong if everyone and everything does the job thier supposed to when thier supposed to. However he does have a heart hidden behind all that rigid by the bookness but it's hard to find.

Biography: Grew up as a nobody with no grand tales of life before the sea except that he swore to never live in the gutter when he was able to leave home. His first stop was a cabin boy on in the Royal Navy. When he wasn't needed by the captian for something menial he was serving under the ship's boatswain or quartermaster swabbing decks and repairing sail and line. It was hard and many times his fingers bled and his body ached but it was a far cry from living on the streets hoping you had an odd job that would feed you for the week.That being said he was often making friends with the cooks to ensure he always had a way to eat. After being "retired" by a captain who seemed to simply have a splinter in his ass everytime they crossed paths Brom took to plying his trade for other ships reguardless of thier flag but certainly refused to sail under a Naval flag ever again and jumped at the chance to board and assault one. As such when the chance came to work amongst the crew of an infamous pirate family like the Silvers he took it, reckoning there would be plenty of chance to wipe the military across thier own decks.

Weapons/Equipment: While comfortable with all manner of boarding "tools" he maintains his own cutless which is really very simple and shows signs of age. He's never without a dagger either, which he uses more on the lines of the ship than anything else so it stays very clean and very sharp. He was seen shaving with it once. Though he does carry a unique item with him always, a short handled gaff hook that he keeps sharper than its job demands.

Character's Orientation/Likes/Dislikes: Very much a straight man that has punched out a fellow for making advances. Being a man of order and disipline he expects the same everywhere he goes, if he says do it he expects it to be done. But he also believes that work and pleasure are seperate and is happy to simply "enjoy" the moment however it plays out.

Brief history: Ella grew up an orphan, looking out for herself and often using her some-what exotic looks to manipulate men into parting with food, drink and money; pretty much anything she desired at the time really. Spending most her time on the streets or scamming drunks, Ella knew she was living on the edge and it exited her. The day soon came however that would push Ella to change her life, hopefully for the better. Ella  seduced a elderly drunk in an inn, she had tied him up on the bed and promised to tease him to bursting point before revealing the built up tension in an unforgettable way. The man was way too drunk to realize how vulnerable he was to become as Ella finished tying the final knot, stringing the man up to the bed.

Ella then proceeded to help herself to any of his possessions and meager finances before fleeing the inn. Problem was, his screams of hatred had woken his buddies in the room across the hall. The men burst into the room Ella was stealing from, but quick as a flash; Ella jumped out of the window and was on her way to freedom. She had just made her way to the docks, when the group of men that had attempted to block her escape earlier walked across her field of view.

Ella was now trapped, the men hadn't seen her yet as she crouched behind some large piles of dock rope; nevertheless she knew she needed an escape route. Turning around, Ella saw the 'Dandy Lion'. Taking one last look to make sure the men weren't looking her way, Ella made her way unseen (A particular skill of hers hence the nickname) towards the 'Dandy Lion'. Ella made a deal with the Captain, she would serve in the Crow's Nest if she could come under the protection of the Ship and it's crew. The Captain accepted and Ella hurried on board, nervous but relieved to be relatively safe for the time being.

Brief history: Rose was born to a rich and noble family. Her parents are relatively known worldwide as her grandfather helped engineer the first airborne cities and first airships that people pilot today. She is the only daughter, with an older brother serving in the military. She was out for a walk one day in the slums of the city (exploring the underbelly of the cities her grandfather helped build) when there was a scream from behind her. Turning around, she met a hand to the back of her neck and she was knocked out. Rose is currently a captive aboard the Dandy Lion.

Just thought of something, this kinda sounds similar to Disney's Treasure Planet. In a sense, is it as steampunk/cyberpunk as that? without the travelling to other planets and alien species of course lol

Sam started out his life in the cities working near the docks, his old lady owned one of the establishments that many would come to whet their whistle and tell their tales.  Exotic plants and Creatures seen, adventures, fighting on the Strata-cumulonimbus clouds.   It all sounded so fantastic.  Anything was better than sticking on the floating city and just cooking for the rot that was too scared to actually go out and do their own adventuring. 

That all changed the day he turned sixteen, when he slipped onto the first Vessel that came into port and disappeared from his city, never to return, or so he thought.  The Galley was hardly the best place to hide for most normal folk, but he actually knew how kitchens worked, he knew when to shift in the bustle and the only thing that had got him caught was when his inborn habits of organization kicked in, and their food was constantly fronted when they hit the storage lockers.  Now they could have thrown him overboard and had the satisfaction of watching him disappear beneath that sea of white and black clouds, but the Cook decided he could use a Cabin boy for a while.  Sam was more than willing to prove his worth and continue his existence at this point.   Couldn't die without getting some adventure in after all!

For the next few years he worked in the Galley and made it his personal playground, learning to cook all sorts of exotic meals and mixing brews that most of the city dwellers had never heard of or even considered.  By the time the Crew disbanded, Spice as he went by more often now, wasn't done he'd gotten his sky legs, and wasn't a way in the world he was sticking around on the cities if he had a remote choice.  So, when he heard of a crew looking for a Cook, his name was scrawled across the dotted line.  Even if he wasn't sure what their goals were, he didn't find himself caring too much.

Personality:  Spice is a rough and tumble kind of guy, he's at home when the ship is away from port most and loves to cook.  He's meticulous in his own way.  A loyal member to a crew that treats him as such, he's not above manipulations and with his steady access to the food and liquor reserves he has a lot to barter with.  He has taken to smoking mind altering substances periodically to help himself relax and remain mellow.

Physical Desc:  Tall broad shouldered and well built, Spice isn't the norm of 'sexy' muscular but a bit more barrel chested, his physique coming more from actual physical labor than working out with those total gym style work outs that so many others tend to buy into.  The difference in application is often astounding.  His skin is surprisingly devoid of scars or blemishes at the moment, but if asked he'll mention his diet having something to do with it.

On's: Promiscuity, Drinking (Lowered Inhibitions), Oral, Anal (giving), Good Food/drink, general merriment, Massage (his hands are fairly calloused though.  Knife Play, Some Restraint play.

Rahzilla, yes i am thinking its all very steampunk although i want to use as many old sea legends as i can for this but with a more techno age flare to them.
